Exploiting cells as vehicles combined with nanoparticles combined with therapy has attracted increasing attention in the world recently. Red blood cells, leukocytes and stem cells have been used for tumor immunotherapy, tissue regeneration and inflammatory disorders, and it is known that neutrophils can accumulate in brain lesions in many brain diseases including depression. -Acetyl Pro-Gly-Pro (PGP) peptide shows high specific binding affinity to neutrophils through the CXCR2 receptor. In this study, PGP was used to modify baicalein-loaded solid lipid nanoparticles (PGP-SLNs) to facilitate binding to neutrophils . Brain-targeted delivery to the basolateral amygdala (BLA) was demonstrated by enhanced concentration of baicalein in the BLA. An enhanced anti-depressant effect was observed and The mechanism involved inhibition of apoptosis and a decrease in lactate dehydrogenase release. Behavioral evaluation carried out with rats demonstrated that anti-depression outcomes were achieved. The results indicate that PGP-SLNs decrease immobility time, increase swimming time and climbing time and attenuate locomotion in olfactory-bulbectomized (OB) rats. In conclusion, PGP modification is a strategy for targeting the brain with a cell-nanoparticle delivery system for depression therapy.

Objective To investigate the effects of human leptin ( hLEP) gene transfection on rat bone marrow stro-mal cells ( rBMSCs) .Methods rBMSCs were cultured and transfected with adenoviruses encoding hLEP ( Ad5-hLEP-EGFP) in vitro as experimental group while rBMSCs transfected with Ad 5-EGFP and non-transfected were control groups. The proliferation was detected by MTT and the expression of collagen type Ⅰ(Col-Ⅰ) and alkaline phosphatase ( ALP) were assessed by real-time PCR.The ability of mineralized nodule forming was also examined by Alizarin red staining .The combination of transfected rBMSCs and β-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP ) was con-structed and the osteogenic ability of the construction was evaluated in nude mice .Results hLEP could be trans-fected into rBMSCs successfully by adenovirous .After transfection , the proliferation was not affected while Col-Ⅰand ALP expressions were more pronounced in rBMSCs transfected with Ad 5-hLEP-EGFP ( P<0.05 ) .Alizarin red staining showed the ability of mineralized nodule forming was also up-regulated in Ad5-hLEP-EGFP group (P<0.05).In addition, the transfected rBMSCs adhered to β-TCP and survived well and the combination showed more new bone like tissue formation in nude mice compared to control groups .Conclusions rBMSCs transfected with hLEP might be potently used in bone or periodontal tissue regeneration .

OBJECTIVE:
To describe and analyze the clinical features of nasal respiratory epithelial adenomatoid hamartom and improve the levels of diagnosis and treatment.
METHOD:
Fourteen cases of nasal respiratory epithelial adenomatoid hamartom confirmed by pathology were collected and analyzed.
RESULT:
In 14 cases, primary complaint of Hyposmia(or Anosmia)and nasal obstruction were occured in 13 and 11 cases respectively. Four cases had past history of endoscopic sinus surgery because of the diagnosis of nasal polyps. Polypoid neoplasms could be seen in the bilateral olfactory clefts. Sinus CT showed soft tissue shadows in bilateral nasal cavity and mucous membrane thickening in different sinus. Endoscopic sinus surgery were utilized to eliminate focus in all cases. All cases weren t recurred after 2-20 months' following-up visitings.
CONCLUSION
Nasal respiratory epithelial adenomatoid hamartom is so rare that clinical and pathological doctors have limited knowledge of it. It has its own characteristics from the clinical symptoms, signs to sinus CT although they are nonspecific. So we should improve the understanding about it to avoid misdiagnosis or missed diagnosis.

Objective To investigate and evaluate the clinical value of full endoscopic transnasal transphenoidal approach for the surgery of pituitary adenomas. Methods Seventy-two patients, who underwent full endoscopic transnasal transphenoidal approach for the surgery of pituitary adenomas, were selected from the Medical Center of Pituitary Adenomas of our hospital from January 2009 to March 2012.To retrospectively investigate pre- and post-operation symptoms, hormone levels, images information, operation information,complications,following-up information and so on.Results Among the 72 consecutive patients, there were 22 nonfunctioning adenomas,twenty-four prolactin secreting adenomas, seven somatotropin secreting adenomas, five adrenocorticotropic hormone secreting adenomas, one thyrotropin secreting adenomas, and 13 multi-secreting adenomas. The tumor removal was total in 56(77.8%),subtotal 13(18.0%),and partial 3(4.2%).Five cases had CSF leaks, and 6 diabetes insipidus. After 3-24 months of follow-up,the levels of increasing-hormone declined to normal levels in most patients. Conclusion Full endoscopic transnasal transphenoidal approach for the surgery of pituitary adenomas is a kind of technique which is safe, minimally invasive, having less complications and fast recovery. However,it is necessary for surgeons to accept systematic and specialized training, and own advanced equipments.

Objective To explore the repair of the open compound wounds in lower extremities caused by multiple factors. Methotis Transplantation of cutaneous.musculo-cutaneous or greater omentum flaps were applied to 155 patients of open compound lower extremity wounds. Results The wound healing rate following first operation was 50% and that following two operations was 14.8%.While the wounds were healed in 7.7% of patients after three operations. Conclusion Transplantations of cutaneous,musculo-cutaneous or greater omentum flaps ale effective to repair and reconstruct the open compound lower extremity wounds.
