Objective:To investigate the characteristics of β and γ oscillations in Parkinson's disease (PD) patients with levodopa-induced dyskinesia (LID).Methods:Seventeen patients with advanced idiopathic PD received subthalamic nucleus deep brain stimulation (STN-DBS) from August 2019 to June 2021 at Department of Neurosurgery, First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University were enrolled; 11 patients were without LID before surgery (PD group) and 6 patients were with LID before surgery (LID group). Preoperative electrophysiological data of the STN, including Area under power spectral density (PSD-AUC), burst amplitude and duration of β and γ oscillations, were compared between the two groups.Results:PSD-AUC of β oscillation at 25-35 Hz in the PD group (60.39±1.00) was significantly increased compared with that in the LID group (54.33±0.55), whereas the PSD-AUC of γ oscillation at 65-85 Hz in the LID group (97.31±1.84) was significantly increased compared with that in the PD group (41.52±7.42, P<0.05). The aburst mplitude and duration of β oscillation in the PD group were significantly increased compared with those in the LID group ([8.52±1.00] au] vs. [1.09±0.13] au, [13 344±2 069] ms vs. [1 442±128] ms, P<0.05), while the burst amplitude and duration of γ oscillation in the LID group were significantly higher than those in the PD group ([5.03±0.55] au vs. [0.14±0.01] au, [12 276±5 011] ms vs. [1 741±233] ms, P<0.05). Conclusion:The imbalance of β-γ oscillations in the STN is associated with LID pathophysiology.

OBJECTIVETo explore the clinical diagnostic features and treatment of desmoplastic small round cell tumor (DSRCT), and to improve the understanding and management of this tumor.

METHODSThe clinicopathological data of nine patients treated in our hospital from October 2004 to June 2014 were retrospectively analyzed and a review of the literature was made. The clinical manifestations, pathological characteristics, diagnosis and differential diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of this tumor were summarized and analyzed.

RESULTSNine patients with DSRCT, 5 males and 4 females, with an average age of 21 years (range 8-56 years) were included in this study. Ultrasound examination revealed irregular low-density mass shadow in the abdominal cavity. CT examination found that 6 cases had abdominal and retroperitoneal multiple solid tumor nodules, uneven density, and visible low density fluid area. Postoperative pathological examination revealed that the tumor cells were small, mostly elliptic, gathered to form clear structure of nests with clear irregular boundaries. The central portion of large tumor nests often showed necrosis. Scattered fibroblasts and large amount of hyalinization of collagen fibers were seen in the interstitial tissue around the nests. Six patients received laparotomy surgery, however, all failed to resect the tumor completely. Three patients received postoperative chemotherapy, i. e. two cases had carboplatin and paclitaxel chemotherapy, and one case of chemotherapy regimen not specified. Two patients had radiation and chemotherapy (no concrete plan was available). Another case was lost to follow-up. Two of the three patients without surgery received chemotherapy with CAP (cyclophosphamide+adriamycin+carboplatin) and total rectal lesions, pelvic and inguinal lymph nodes, ilium metastases radiation therapy. Another one patient received EP regimen (DDP+VP16) which was then changed into a TP chemotherapy alone. Eight of the nine cases died shortly after surgery, and only one patient treated with chemotherapy alone was still alive after 11 months of follow-up.

CONCLUSIONSDesmoplastic small round cell tumor is a very rare, special type of soft tissue tumor, with very poor prognosis. This tumor may be preliminarily diagnosed according to the imaging characteristics and detection of tumor markers, however, final diagnosis is made by pathology. Surgery is the priority of treatment, combined with complementary radiation and chemotherapy.

OBJECTIVETo assess HCH and DDT exposure levels and associated risk factors among 262 children aged 6-10 years in a northeastern rural area of China between April and May of 2008.

METHODSEight HCH and DDT metabolites in serum samples were monitored by gas chromatography. A questionnaire was administered to identify the sources of pesticides in children' serum samples.

RESULTSAt least one pesticide metabolite was detected in 81.7% of the tested children. Higher amounts of pp'DDD were detected in 50% of them. Children's age and their father's occupation as farmers, together with not changing work clothes after work, were the main risk factors for HCH and DDT exposure among them.

CONCLUSIONChildren living in rural areas are experiencing multiple sources of organochlorine pesticide exposure. These pesticides may have been retained in the environment for a long period of time.

Objective To study the efficacy of hyperbaric oxygen(HO)for the delayed encephalopathy after acute carbon monoxide poisoning(DEACMP)Method One hundred and eleven patients who were diagnozed as the DEACMP from November 2000 to March 2007 in Tangdu Hospital the Fourth Military Medical University were randomly divided into two groups.Thirty-six cases were treated by onventional approach(group A),and 76 cases by HO besides conventional treatment(group B).The efficacy of HO was evaluated after 4courses of treatment. The curative effects were evaluated as(1)cured:clinical symptoms and signs fully disappeared,abnormal electroencephalogram recovered,patients were completely self-help and competent enough for routine work.(2)improved:chnical symptoms and signs partly disappeared,abnormal electroencephalogram partly recovered,patients were partial self-help and incompetent enough for routine work.(3)inefficacy:patient's condition didn't changed.Data were expressed as((x)±s)and analyzed with the chi-quare test and t-test.The statistical significance was established as P＜0.05.Results In group B,62(81.58%)were in good recover,9(11.84%)improved and 5(6.94%)were inefficacy;while in group A:21(58.33%)were in good recover,5(13.89%)were improved and 10(27.78%)were inefficacy.The effciency rate in group B was significantly higher(93.42%)than that(72.22%)in group A(P＜0.05),and the required time for the therapeutic effect noticed time in group B were significantly shorter(P＜0.05)Conclusions HO Can improve the therapeutic effects on DEACMP
