ObjectiveTo understand the prevalence of tobacco use among residents aged 15 years old and above in Jiading District of Shanghai, and to provide a scientific basis for formulating effective regional tobacco control policies. MethodsThe Probability Proportional to Size (PPS) sampling method was employed to select one neighborhood committee (village) from each of Jiading District’s 11 subdistricts as survey monitoring sites. From the household registry of each selected neighborhood committee (village), 50 residential households were randomly sampled, resulting in a total of 550 households surveyed. Within each selected household, one permanent resident aged 15 years old or above was randomly chosen to complete the questionnaire. The content covered general information, exposure to secondhand smoke, awareness of tobacco related health hazards, etc. Statistical analyses were performed using SPSS 27.0 software. ResultsA total of 550 questionnaires were distributed, with 549 valid responses collected, and the effective response rate was 99.82%. The survey findings revealed that in 2023, the current smoking rate among individuals aged 15 years old and above in Jiading District of Shanghai was 18.76%, with males accounting for 38.93% and females accounting for 2.62%. Male gender was identified as a relative factor for smoking (OR=34.108, 95%CI: 14.440‒80.722), whereas higher education attainment emerged as a protective factor against smoking (OR=0.388, 95%CI: 0.184‒0.820). Among non-smokers aged 15 years old and above in Jiading District, the secondhand smoke exposure rate was 46.86%, with statistically significant differences observed across different age groups and occupations (P<0.001). Restaurants exhibited the highest secondhand smoke exposure rate of 42.14%, followed by households bearing (36.79%). The overall awareness rate among individuals aged 15 years old and above in Jiading District regarding four smoking-related diseases, namely stroke, heart disease, lung cancer, and impotence, was 48.45%, while the awareness rate for three secondhand smoke-induced diseases, namely adult heart disease, pediatric pulmonary disease, and adult lung cancer, was 64.29%. ConclusionThere is still room for reduction in the prevalence of tobacco use among individuals aged 15 yeas old and above in Jiading District. The exposure to secondhand smoke is severe, and residents have low awareness of the harm of tobacco. Tobacco control law enforcement should be strengthened, smoke-free-home health education should be included in tobacco control efforts, and targeted health education should be carried out.

Objective:To investigate the application value of early and late interventional embolization in intracranial aneurysms.Methods:Eighty-two patients with intracranial aneurysm who received treatment in Wenzhou People's Hospital from October 2015 to February 2020 were included in this study. These patients were divided into early (≤ 3 days) and late (> 3 days) groups, with 41 patients in each group, according to time from disease onset to surgery. The early group was subjected to early interventional embolization, and the late group was treated with late interventional embolization. The effects of embolization and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score pre- and post-treatment, as well as modified Barthel index, Mini-Mental State Exam score, matrix metalloproteinase-9 level, and soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1 level post-treatment and prognosis were compared between the two groups. Results:The embolization effects in the early group were statistically superior to those in the late group ( P = 0.046). After treatment, National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score in the early group was significantly lower than that in the late group [(4.02 ± 1.64) points vs. (6.81 ± 2.02) points, t = 6.86, P < 0.01]. Mini-Mental State Exam score and modified Barthel index in the early group were (28.09 ± 1.35) points and (81.12 ± 9.67) points, respectively, which were significantly higher than (26.01 ± 1.19) points and (73.02 ± 8.19) points in the late group ( t = 7.40, 4.09, both P < 0.001). After treatment, matrix metalloproteinase-9 and soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1 levels in the early group were (420.33 ± 29.40) μg/L and (403.70 ± 23.28) ug/L, respectively, which were significantly lower than (491.30 ± 31.19) μg/mL and (496.37 ± 30.46) μg/L in the late group ( t = 10.60, 15.47, both P < 0.001). Prognosis in the early group was superior to that in the late group ( P = 0.049). Conclusion:Early interventional embolization has better efficacy than late interventional embolization in the treatment of intracranial aneurysm. The former can effectively improve neurological function and mental state, enhance living ability, and improve prognosis, which may be related to the regulation of matrix metalloproteinase-9 and soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1 levels.

Chinese Journal of School Health 2020;41(10):1506-1510
Objective:
To explore the interrelationships among fathers’ parenting effectiveness, urban children’s sociality and the acceptance of “second-born children” by children (including only children and “first-born children”), and to provide a reference for interventional measured for improving children’s acceptance rate of "second-bron children".
Methods:
Stratified cluster sampling method was used to select 3 to 9-year-old 778 only children and “first-born children” in two kindergartens and grades 1-3 of two primary schools in a city, and the children and their fathers were investigated with questionnaires survey regarding general information of both fathers and children, the acceptance degree of “second-born children”, the sociality of children and the parenting effectiveness of fathers.
Results:
Children in different grades had different acceptance levels of “second-born children” and the difference was statistically significant (F=2.89,P<0.05). Correlation analysis showed that the acceptance of “second-born children” was negatively correlated with the interaction between the only children and “first-born children”, and positively correlated with the prosocial behavior of the only children and “first-born children”, both of which are statistically significant (r=-0.10,0.10,P<0.01). Father’s role efficacy was negatively correlated with onlychildren and “first-born-children” peer interaction problems(r=-0.15), and positively correlated with prosocial behavior(r=0.32), both of which were statistically significant (P<0.01). The structural equation model of father’s parenting effectiveness, children’s sociality and acceptance of “second-born children” showed that low father’s parenting effectiveness could positively predict children’s peer communication problems and negatively predict children’s prosocial behavior, and thus children’s peer communication problems could negatively predict the acceptance degree of only children and “first-born children” to “second-born children”, and prosocial behaviors could positively predict the acceptance degree of “second-born children”.
Conclusion
Promoting father’s parenting efficiency can facilitate the social development of children and the acceptance of siblings. It’s recommended that fathers actively participate in specific parenting matters for the only child and "one child",and consciously improve parenting effectiveness.
