Objective:To understand the status and influencing factors of social isolation in elderly individuals with chronic diseases. Methods:A multi-stage sampling method was used to select elderly individuals from eight communities or villages in Hefei from July to September 2022. The study employed a general information survey, the Lubben Social Network Scale (LSNS-6) , the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS-15) , the Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS) , and the Personal Social Capital Scale 16 (PSCS-16) . Binary Logistic regression analysis was used to explore the factors influencing social isolation in elderly individuals with chronic diseases. Results:A total of 1 133 elderly individuals were surveyed, among which 538 had chronic diseases. Among the 538 elderly individuals with chronic diseases, 209 were socially isolated, resulting in a social isolation rate of 38.8%. Binary Logistic regression analysis revealed that living area, fear of falling, depression, social capital, and social support were significant factors influencing social isolation ( P<0.05) . Conclusions:The social isolation rate among elderly individuals with chronic diseases is high. Special attention should be given to elderly individuals living in rural areas, those who fear falling, and those experiencing depression. Additionally, improving social capital and social support can help alleviate social isolation in these elderly individuals.

Objective:To explore the potential categories and influencing factors of attitudes to aging among the elderly in nursing homes. Methods:Convenience sampling was used to select elderly from 15 nursing homes in Anhui Province from March to July 2024 for the study. The survey was conducted using the General Information Questionnaire, Attitudes to Ageing Questionnaire, Belongingness Scale for Older Adults in Nursing Facilities, and the Lubben Social Network Scale. Mplus 8.3 was used to conduct a latent profile analysis, and multivariate Logistic regression was employed to explore the factors influencing the latent categories of attitudes toward aging among the elderly in nursing facilities. Results:A total of 370 questionnaires were distributed, and 366 valid questionnaires were recovered, with an effective recovery rate of 98.9%. The attitudes to aging of 366 elderly of nursing facilities were expressed in three potential categories, namely, negative-perceived type (48.6%), moderate-low psychosocial loss type (35.0%), and positive and optimistic-comprehensive type (16.4%). Multicategorical Logistic regression analysis showed that the number of children, location of the nursing home, educational level, self-rating health, belongingness to the nursing home, and social network were the influencing factors of the potential categories of attitudes to aging among the elderly in the nursing home, and the difference was statistically significant ( P<0.05) . Conclusions:There is group heterogeneity in the attitudes to aging among the elderly in nursing homes. Healthcare professionals should focus on negative-perceived elderly and provide targeted interventions based on the potential categories of factors influencing their attitudes to aging.

Objective:To construct a nursing intervention program based on dyadic coping theory for patients with spinal cord injury (SCI) and their spouses, and to explore the effects of the program on improving their coping abilities and quality of life. Methods:The nursing intervention program was developed through literature review, expert panel discussions, and the Delphi method, guided by dyadic coping theory. Using convenience sampling, 90 pairs of patients with SCI and their spouses who underwent surgery in the Department of Orthopedics at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University from January to August 2023 were selected. Participants were randomly divided into control group ( n=46) and observation group ( n=44). The control group received standard nursing care, while the observation group received the dyadic coping-based nursing intervention program in addition to standard care for three months. Both groups were assessed at admission and three months post-intervention using the Dyadic Coping Inventory (DCI), WHO Quality of Life-BREF (WHOQOL-BREF), and Family Adaptability and Cohesion Evaluation Scale (FACESⅡ) . Results:After three months, the DCI scores for patients and spouses in the observation group were (117.80±0.88) and (121.50±3.29), respectively. The WHOQOL-BREF scores for the patients and spouses were (80.50±1.77) and (81.09±1.58), respectively. The FACESⅡ scores for the patients were (65.70±0.95) and (48.68±1.03), respectively, and for their spouses were (67.02±0.88) and (49.55±1.27), respectively. All scores were significantly higher in the observation group compared to the control group ( P<0.05) . Conclusions:The nursing intervention program based on dyadic coping theory effectively improves the dyadic coping abilities, quality of life, and family functioning of patients with SCI and their spouses.

Objective:To systematically evaluate the effect of psychosocial intervention on the post-traumatic growth (PTG) and emotional state of trauma patients. Methods:Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on the effect of psychosocial intervention on PTG of trauma patients were searched in Cochrane Library, Web of Science, PubMed, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) , China Biology Medicine Literature Service System (CBM) , VIP Database and Wanfang Data by computer. The search time limit was from the establishment of the database to August 2020. The Cochrane randomized controlled trial bias risk assessment tool was used for quality evaluation, and the data that met the quality standards were extracted and included in the final Meta-analysis.Results:A total of 11 RCTs were included, with 919 research subjects. Meta-analysis results showed that the group psychosocial intervention [ WMD=8.49, 95% CI (2.74, 14.25) , P<0.01] and individual psychological intervention [ WMD=6.78, 95% CI (2.13, 11.44) , P<0.01] could improve the PTG level of trauma patients. Psychosocial intervention could improve the emotional state of trauma patients, increase the level of optimism [ WMD=1.87, 95% CI (1.18, 2.56) , P<0.01], and reduce the level of depression [ SMD=-0.76, 95% CI (-1.03, -0.49) , P<0.01]. Subgroup analysis of different follow-up time found that when the follow-up time was <3 months, 3-6 months, >6 months, the PTG of trauma patients all had a tendency to increase, but the difference was statistically significant when the follow-up time was only within 3 months [ WMD=7.16, 95% CI (2.70, 11.62) , P=0.002]. Conclusions:Psychosocial intervention can improve the PTG and the emotional control ability of trauma patients, which is conducive to the physical and psychological recovery of trauma patients.
