This study aimed to investigate the effects of zidovudine (AZT) on high-fat diet (HFD)-induced metabolic disturbances in rats and its underlying mechanisms. The HFD rat model was established, and the animals were divided into the control group, the model group, and the AZT-treated group at low (25 mg/kg) and high (50 mg/kg) doses. Metabolic phenotype, hepatic lipid deposition, oxidative stress, mitochondrial function, and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) signaling were evaluated. AZT treatment significantly mitigated HFD-induced body weight gain and reduced both the mass and adipocyte size of inguinal and epididymal white adipose tissues; it also enhanced metabolic flexibility and improved glucose tolerance without elevating blood lactate levels. High-dose AZT further lowered hepatic triglyceride accumulation, ameliorated steatosis, and additionally, attenuated hepatic oxidative stress by increasing superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity and decreasing malondialdehyde (MDA) levels. Western blot analysis revealed that AZT upregulated hepatic PPARα and carnitine palmitoyltransferase 1α (CPT1α), while downregulating PPARγ expression. In conclusion, AZT effectively ameliorates HFD-induced metabolic disorders without inducing mitochondrial toxicity, which may be related to the promotion of fatty acid oxidation, the reduction of oxidative stress, and the modulation of both the PPAR signaling pathway and pyrimidine metabolism.

Osteoarthritis (OA), a highly prevalent degenerative joint disease worldwide, is defined by articular cartilage degradation, abnormal bone remodeling, and persistent chronic inflammation. It severely compromises patients’ quality of life, and currently, there is no radical cure. Abnormal mechanical stress is widely regarded as a core driver of OA pathogenesis, and the exploration of mechanical signal perception and transduction mechanisms has become crucial for deciphering OA’s pathophysiological processes. Piezo1, a key mechanosensitive cation channel belonging to the Piezo protein family, has recently gained significant attention due to its pivotal role in mediating cellular responses to mechanical stimuli in joint tissues. This review systematically examines Piezo1’s expression patterns, regulatory mechanisms, and pathological functions in OA, with a particular focus on its dual roles in modulating chondrocyte homeostasis and bone metabolism disorders, while also delving into the underlying molecular signaling pathways and potential therapeutic implications. Piezo1, consisting of approximately 2 500 amino acids and forming a unique trimeric propeller-like structure, is widely expressed in chondrocytes, osteocytes, mesenchymal stem cells, and synovial cells. It exhibits permeability to cations such as Ca²⁺, K⁺, and Na⁺, and directly responds to membrane tension changes induced by mechanical stimuli like fluid shear stress and mechanical overload. In OA patients and animal models, Piezo1 expression is significantly upregulated, especially in cartilage regions subjected to abnormal mechanical stress (e.g., human temporomandibular joint cartilage). This overexpression is closely associated with aggravated cartilage degeneration, increased chondrocyte apoptosis, accelerated cellular senescence, and intensified inflammatory responses. Mechanical overload and pro-inflammatory cytokines (e.g., IL-1β) are key inducers of Piezo1 upregulation: IL-1β activates the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway to enhance Piezo1 expression, forming a pathogenic positive feedback loop that inhibits chondrocyte autophagy, promotes apoptosis, and further accelerates joint degeneration. Mechanistically, Piezo1 mediates OA progression through multiple interconnected pathways. When activated by mechanical stress, Piezo1 triggers excessive Ca²⁺ influx, leading to endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERS) and mitochondrial dysfunction, which directly induce chondrocyte apoptosis. This process involves the activation of downstream signaling cascades such as cGAS-STING and YAP-MMP13/ADAMTS5. YAP, a transcriptional regulator, upregulates the expression of matrix metalloproteinase 13 (MMP13) and aggrecanase (ADAMTS5), thereby accelerating cartilage matrix degradation. Additionally, Piezo1-driven Ca²⁺ overload promotes the accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and upregulates senescence markers (p16 and p21), accelerating chondrocyte senescence via the p38MAPK and NF-κB pathways. Senescent chondrocytes secrete senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP) factors (e.g., IL-6, IL-1β), further amplifying joint inflammation. In terms of bone metabolism, Piezo1 maintains joint homeostasis by promoting the differentiation of fibrocartilage stem cells into chondrocytes and balancing bone formation and resorption through regulating the FoxC1/YAP axis and RANKL/OPG ratio. Therapeutically, targeting Piezo1 shows promising potential. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that Piezo1 inhibitors (e.g., GsMTx4) can reduce joint damage and alleviate pain in OA mice. Simultaneously, siRNA-mediated co-silencing of Piezo1 and TRPV4 (another mechanosensitive channel) decreases intracellular Ca²⁺ concentration, inhibits chondrocyte apoptosis, and promotes cartilage repair. Conditional knockout of Piezo1 using Gdf5-Cre transgenic mice alleviates cartilage degeneration in post-traumatic OA models by downregulating MMP13 and ADAMTS5 expression. Despite existing challenges, such as off-target effects of inhibitors, inefficient local drug delivery, and interindividual genetic variability, strategies like developing selective Piezo1 antagonists, optimizing targeted nanocarriers, and combining Piezo1-targeted therapy with physical therapy provide viable avenues for clinical translation. The authors propose that Piezo1 serves as a critical therapeutic target for OA, and future research should focus on deciphering its context-dependent regulatory networks, developing tissue-specific intervention strategies, and validating their efficacy and safety in clinical trials to address the unmet medical needs of OA patients.

Background Long working hours, as a common risk factor for occupational stress, is closely related to the occurrence of depressive symptoms. Understanding how long working hours affect occupational stress and depressive symptoms will inform occupational health interventions. Objective To quantify the impact of long working hours exposure on occupational stress and depressive symptoms among Internet industry employees, translate black-box outputs into actionable insights, and demonstrate the value of interpretable machine learning for early-warning occupational-health surveillance. Methods A dataset was derived from a cross-sectional survey involving 2866 internet industry employees in China. This survey was part of the project Risk Assessment Of Long Working Hour Exposure And Its Adverse Health Effects, conducted by the National Institute for Occupational Health and Poisoning Control, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, from 2021 to 2023. Working hours, occupational stress and depressive symptoms were quantified with a set of structured questionnaires including the Core Occupational Stress Scale and the Patient Health Questionnaire. Pairwise associations were screened by Mantel tests and variance-inflation factors. Key predictors identified through feature selection were fed into six machine-learning risk-prediction models. Visual interpretation was provided by feature importance, Shapley additive explanations (SHAP) and local interpretable model-agnostic explanations (LIME), while directed causal effects and intervention impacts of prolonged working hours exposure on occupational stress and depressive symptoms were dissected with causal explanation of features techniques. Results The positive rates of occupational stress and depressive symptoms among internet employees were 12.9% and 77.8% respectively. Twelve core features for occupational stress and nine for depressive symptoms were retained after selection. After these features were supplied to six predictive algorithms and evaluated on five metrics, the Light Gradient Boosting Machine (LGBM) achieved the highest accuracy—0.89 for occupational stress and 0.79 for depressive symptoms on the hold-out test set. The feature-importance rankings converged on fatigue accumulation and life satisfaction as dominant drivers for both outcomes, whereas weekly working hours and daily overtime emerged as the principal exposure-related predictors. The SHAP summary plots revealed that longer weekly hours and daily overtime systematically elevated the probability of occupational stress. The causal feature explanation further quantified that ascending one category in weekly working hours increased the probability of occupational stress by 7.04%. Conclusion Exposure to long working hours is associated with both occupational stress and depressive symptoms among internet industry employees. Interpretable machine-learning frameworks translate these associations into transparent, defensible drivers, enabling precise identification of the pivotal factors and their interplay. This evidence base equips occupational-health practitioners with actionable insights for designing targeted prevention and intervention strategies.

Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a prevalent and life-threatening clinical syndrome characterised by a rapid decline in renal function and diverse pathological etiologies. The condition has been demonstrated to be associated with elevated mortality rates and an increased risk of progression to chronic kidney disease. At present, clinicians depend heavily on conventional functional markers, such as serum creatinine and urine output, for the diagnosis and staging of the disease. It is evident that these conventional indicators characteristically manifest a considerable temporal delay and only undergo modification subsequent to considerable tissue damage. This severely restricts the timeframe for early detection and timely therapeutic intervention. Furthermore, standard markers fail to provide specific biological information regarding the underlying cellular injury mechanisms. The utilisation of advanced probe technologies in molecular imaging offers a robust alternative to overcome these inherent diagnostic limitations.This comprehensive review systematically evaluates recent progress in the design and application of two primary categories of molecular imaging tools for acute kidney disease, specifically reactive probes and enzyme-activated probes. Reactive probes are engineered to specifically interact with redox-active chemical species, including hydrogen peroxide, peroxynitrite, hypochlorous acid, and sulfur dioxide. Because oxidative stress constitutes a primary early event in acute renal tubular damage, these probes enable researchers and clinicians to visualize early cellular injury and radical accumulation well before global renal functional decline becomes evident. We discuss the application of these reactive probes across multiple imaging modalities including fluorescence imaging, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), positron emission tomography (PET), and photoacoustic techniques. Photoacoustic imaging combines high spatial resolution with deep tissue penetration and has successfully demonstrated the ability to provide diagnostic alerts up to 12 h before any detectable rise in serum creatinine levels. Additionally, specific reactive probes have shown promising translational potential when tested by high-throughput screening in clinical human urine samples. Enzyme-activated probes target the specific catalytic activity of disease-relevant enzymes. These include well-documented renal tubular structural biomarkers such as NAG, GGT, and ALP, along with apoptosis-related caspases and specific nitroreductases. By responding only to enzymatic cleavage, these tools provide highly specific and pathology-directed imaging readouts. Recent structural design strategies in this field have advanced significantly beyond single-enzyme detection. Researchers are now focusing on sophisticated dual-target recognition to minimize background noise, multimodal integration to cross-validate imaging signals, and theranostic applications where probes simultaneously deliver diagnostic feedback and therapeutic agents to injured tissues. Nanotechnology serves as a fundamental enabler for realizing these advanced probe functions. By precisely optimizing nanoparticle parameters such as hydrodynamic size, surface charge, and targeting ligands, researchers can achieve amplified signal output, highly precise kidney delivery, and protection against premature degradation in the systemic circulation. For example, modifying surface charges can significantly enhance the active uptake of nanoprobes by damaged renal tubular epithelial cells.While preclinical probe development has progressed rapidly, moving these technologies into routine clinical practice remains a major challenge. We analyze the translational feasibility and current obstacles from biological, technological, and regulatory perspectives. Although biological targets such as KIM-1, FAP, and ALP have been validated in extensive patient cohorts, practical barriers severely limit their immediate clinical application. These obstacles involve complex changes in in vivo pharmacokinetics. During an acute injury episode, the extreme drop in the glomerular filtration rate alters probe clearance and can cause unwanted systemic accumulation or confusing background imaging signals. Other major hurdles include a lack of comprehensive long-term toxicity data and the absence of standardized manufacturing protocols to ensure batch-to-batch consistency. Future successful translation will require rigorous multi-center clinical studies to confirm the true diagnostic value of these probes over traditional markers. Researchers must also establish strict standardization of imaging procedures and comprehensive safety evaluations. Ultimately, this review provides a thorough reference framework for designing clinically translatable molecular probes and building a precision diagnostic imaging system for acute kidney injury.

Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is one of the most prevalent and vision-threatening microvascular complications of diabetes mellitus, yet its pathogenesis extends far beyond vascular injury alone. As the retina is among the most energy-demanding tissues in the body, its neurons, glial cells, pigment epithelial cells, pericytes, and endothelial cells are highly dependent on mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation to maintain visual signal transduction, ionic homeostasis, and neurovascular integrity. This review summarizes current evidence indicating that mitochondrial dysfunction is not merely a downstream consequence of chronic hyperglycemia, but a central pathogenic hub that initiates, amplifies, and perpetuates retinal neurovascular degeneration in DR. Persistent hyperglycemia activates multiple abnormal metabolic pathways, including the polyol pathway, hexosamine pathway, protein kinase C signaling, advanced glycation end-product formation, and angiotensin II-related responses. Although these pathways differ mechanistically, they converge on excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation, antioxidant depletion, and mitochondrial injury. Under diabetic stress, electron transport chain overload promotes mitochondrial ROS leakage, damages mitochondrial DNA, disrupts membrane potential, and impairs the transcription of key respiratory chain components. In parallel, mitochondrial quality-control systems become progressively compromised. The balance between fusion and fission shifts toward pathological fragmentation through reduced MFN1/2 and OPA1 activity and enhanced DRP1-mediated fission. Mitochondrial biogenesis is suppressed through inhibition of the AMPK/SIRT1/PGC-1α/NRF1/TFAM axis, while mitophagy changes from an early compensatory response to a later state of autophagic flux blockade and accumulation of dysfunctional mitochondria. Importantly, damaged mitochondria serve as signal amplifiers linking metabolic stress to inflammation and programmed cell death. Mitochondrial ROS, oxidized mitochondrial DNA, calcium overload, cardiolipin exposure, and membrane permeabilization activate interrelated death pathways, including intrinsic apoptosis, ferroptosis, and pyroptosis. Cytochrome C and apoptosis-inducing factor promote caspase-dependent and caspase-independent apoptosis; iron dyshomeostasis, glutathione depletion, GPX4 dysfunction, and lipid peroxidation drive ferroptosis; and mitochondrial danger signals activate the NLRP3 inflammasome and gasdermin-dependent pyroptosis. These pathways jointly damage the retinal neurovascular unit and contribute to pericyte loss, endothelial barrier breakdown, Müller cell dysfunction, retinal ganglion cell apoptosis, retinal pigment epithelial injury, and photoreceptor degeneration. This review also emphasizes the role of epigenetic regulation in stabilizing mitochondrial pathology. DNA methylation, histone modifications, and non-coding RNAs interact to silence mitochondrial protective genes, alter antioxidant responses, and maintain the “metabolic memory” of DR even after glycemic normalization. Therefore, mitochondrial dysfunction should be understood as a dynamic, multidimensional network rather than a single pathological event. Current clinical approaches, such as laser photocoagulation, intravitreal anti-VEGF therapy, and vitrectomy, mainly target advanced vascular lesions and are limited by invasiveness, incomplete responsiveness, recurrence, and potential adverse effects. Therapeutically, strategies targeting mitochondrial ROS, restoring mitochondrial dynamics, enhancing biogenesis, regulating mitophagy, inhibiting inflammasome activation, correcting epigenetic abnormalities, and improving targeted delivery systems show promising potential. However, major translational barriers remain, including retinal cell heterogeneity, stage-specific mitochondrial responses, insufficient organelle-specific drug delivery, and long-term safety concerns. A deeper understanding of mitochondrial regulatory networks may support earlier, more precise, and multi-target interventions for preventing or slowing DR progression.

Objective To analyze the clinical characteristics of patients with gastrointestinal bleeding after renal transplantation and summarize the diagnostic and therapeutic experience. Methods Clinical data of 16 patients with gastrointestinal bleeding after renal transplantation admitted to the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University from January 2015 to January 2025 were collected, including clinical manifestations, laboratory tests and auxiliary examination results such as gastroscopy and colonoscopy. The bleeding sites, causes, treatment plans and outcomes of the patients were analyzed, and relevant literature was reviewed. Results Among the 16 patients with gastrointestinal bleeding, 12 had upper gastrointestinal bleeding (3 with esophageal bleeding, 7 with gastric bleeding and 2 with duodenal bleeding) and 4 had lower gastrointestinal bleeding (2 with ileal bleeding and 2 with anal bleeding). Among the 16 patients, the 4 with lower gastrointestinal bleeding all presented with hematochezia. Of the 12 with upper gastrointestinal bleeding, 2 patients only had positive fecal occult blood and decreased hemoglobin levels without hematemesis or melena, 9 patients had melena and 1 patient had hematemesis. The hemoglobin levels of the 16 patients were (71±18) g/L. One patient had symptoms of shock, 9 had symptoms of anemia such as dizziness, fatigue and chest tightness, and 6 had good general conditions. Among the 16 patients, 10 had mild gastrointestinal bleeding and stable general conditions, which were curable by drugs. Two patients with peptic ulcers and exposed vessels on gastroscopy were treated with hemostasis by titanium clips. One patient with gastroesophageal tear was treated with hemostasis by titanium clips. One patient with esophageal variceal rupture bleeding was treated with endoscopic variceal ligation. One patient with hemorrhoidal bleeding underwent selective annual resection of the superior hemorrhoidal mucosa with stapled hemorrhoidopexy. One patient with active ileal bleeding on emergency enhanced abdominal CT was treated with endovascular embolization of the mesenteric artery. One patient was discharged automatically due to coma caused by extensive cerebral infarction, and the remaining patients were all cured and discharged with good prognosis. Conclusions Gastrointestinal bleeding after renal transplantation has diverse clinical manifestations, varying severity and many causes. Early diagnosis and treatment should be actively carried out. In addition to drug therapy, endoscopic, interventional or surgical treatment may be used when necessary to improve the diagnostic and therapeutic effects and minimize the functional damage of gastrointestinal bleeding to the transplant kidney.

Objective:To investigate the impact of early invasive arterial blood pressure (IBP) monitoring on survival and neurological outcomes in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) patients undergoing extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation (ECPR).Methods:This retrospective cohort study analyzed 44 OHCA patients receiving ECPR between January 2021 and January 2023. Patients were divided into: Early intervention group : IBP established within 3 min of ECMO initiation; Late intervention group : IBP established after ICU admission. Baseline characteristics, ECMO parameters, and clinical outcomes were compared. Multivariable logistic regression (adjusted for age, initial rhythm, etc.) and Spearman's correlation were used.Results:This study included a total of 44 patients treated with OHCA and ECPR, divided into an early intervention group of 23 cases and a late intervention group of 21 cases. The early intervention group showed significantly higher: Survival to discharge (43.5% vs. 9.5%, P<0.05), Good neurological recovery (CPC 1-2: 34.8% vs. 9.5%, P<0.05).Early intervention independently predicted survival (adjusted OR=18.84, 95% CI:1.97-179.98, P=0.01). Stratified analysis by pH (cutoff 7.0) demonstrated consistent benefits in both pH>7.0 ( aOR=0.392, 95% CI:0.106-0.678) and pH≤7.0 subgroups ( aOR=0.385, 95% CI: 0.075-0.695; interaction P=0.183). Early IBP positively correlated with CPC scores ( ρ=0.40, P=0.007). Conclusions:Early IBP monitoring significantly improves survival and neurological outcomes in OHCA-ECPR patients, supporting its integration into standardized protocols.

A mounting body of research suggests that circRNAs significantly contribute to the develop-ment of myocardial fibrosis.The microarray results of human circular RNA expression profile indicated that circHERC4_041 expression increased in the myocardium of patients with heart failure,RT-qPCR a-nalysis confirmed that the myocardial expression level of circHERC4_041 in individuals with heart failure were considerably elevated compared to that in healthy organ donors.Fluorescence in situ hybridization(FISH)confirmed that circHERC4_041 was abundant in the cytoplasm of human cardiomyocyte AC16.Overexpression of circHERC4_041 in mouse myocardial fibroblasts(mCFs)mediated by adenovirus in-hibited the expression of fibrosis-related proteins in mCFs.Experiments involving cell proliferation,wound healing,and Transwell assays demonstrated that overexpression of circHERC4_041 suppressed the growth and mobility of mCFs(P＜0.001).Sequence analysis results suggested that circHERC4_041 con-tains potential ribosome entry sequence(IRES)and open reading frame(ORF).Western blot confirmed that circHERC4_041 could translate the 516 amino acid HERC4-516aa protein,which was mainly located in the cytoplasm of the cell.Cell functional experiments confirmed that circHERC4_041 inhibited the fi-brotic phenotype of mCFs by specifically translating HERC4-516aa(P＜0.05).The specific interaction between HERC4-516aa and transglutaminase 2(TGM2)was confirmed by IP-MS screening and Co-IP i-dentification.Further results found that the degradation of TGM2 was promoted through proteasome path-way.The overexpression of TGM2 in mCFs facilitated by adenoviral vectors could counteract the suppres-sive effects of HERC4-516aa on the fibrotic phenotype of mCFs.Therefore,this study confirmed that the HERC4-516aa protein translated by circHERC4_041 can specifically bind to TGM2 to inhibit the fibrotic phenotype of myocardial fibroblasts.

Objective:To analyze the clinical features associated with pelvic lymph node metastasis(PLNM)in prostate cancer and to construct a preoperative prediction model for PLNM,thereby reducing unnecessary extended pelvic lymph node dissection(ePLND).Methods:Based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria,344 patients who underwent radical prostatectomy and ePLND at the First Affilia-ted Hospital of Zhengzhou University between 2014 and 2024 were retrospectively enrolled,among whom,77 patients(22.4％)were pathologically confirmed to have lymph node-positive disease.The clinical characteristics,MRI reports,and pathological results were collected.The data were then randomly divi-ded into a training cohort(241 cases,70％)and a validation cohort(103 cases,30％).Univariate and multivariate Logistic regression analysis were employed to construct a preoperative prediction model for PLNM.Results:Univariate Logistic regression analysis revealed that total prostate specific antigen(tPSA)(P=0.021),free prostate specific antigen(fPSA)(P=0.002),fPSA to tPSA ratio(fPSA/tPSA)(P=0.011),percentage of positive biopsy cores(P＜0.001),prostate imaging reporting and data system(PI-RADS)score(P=0.004),biopsy Gleason score ≥8(P=0.005),clinical T stage(P＜0.001),and MRI-indicated lymph node involvement(MRI-LNI)(P＜0.001)were significant predictors of PLNM.Multivariate Logistic regression analysis demonstrated that the percentage of positive biopsy cores(OR=91.24,95％CI:13.34-968.68),PI-RADS score(OR=7.64,95％ CI:1.78-138.06),and MRI-LNI(OR=4.67,95％ CI:1.74-13.24)were independent risk factors for PLNM.And a novel nomogram for predicting PLNM was developed by integrating all these three variables.Com-pared with the individual predictors:percentage of positive biopsy cores[area under curve(AUC)=0.806],PI-RADS score(AUC=0.679),and MRI-LNI(AUC=0.768),the multivariate model incor-porating all three variables demonstrated significantly superior predictive performance(AUC=0.883).Consistently,calibration curves and decision curve analyses confirmed that the multivariable model had high predictive accuracy and provided significant net clinical benefit relative to single-variable models.And using a cutoff of 6％,the multiparameter model missed only approximately 5.2％of PLNM cases(4/77),while reducing approximately 53％of ePLND procedures(139/267),demonstrating favorable predictive efficacy.Conclusion:Percentage of positive biopsy cores,PI-RADS score and MRI-LNI are independent risk factors for PLNM.The constructed multivariate model significantly improves predictive efficacy,offering a valuable tool to guide clinical decisions on ePLND.

Objective·To investigate the effect of plasma exchange combined with classical chemotherapy on renal function in patients with multiple myeloma(MM).Methods·A retrospective analysis was conducted on data from patients newly diagnosed with MM in the Department of Hematology,Ruijin Hospital,Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine,between October 2021 and September 2023.Sixty-eight MM patients admitted from October 2021 to September 2022 served as the control group,and 41 patients admitted from October 2022 to September 2023 comprised the experimental group.The control group received classical chemotherapy for MM[PAD(bortezomib+adriamycin+dexamethasone)or PCD(bortezomib+cyclophosphamide+dexamethasone)],and the experimental group underwent plasma exchange before classic chemotherapy.The frequency of plasma exchange was determined according to the clearance rate of M-protein in patients,with the criterion being a reduction of more than 40%in plasma M-protein levels after exchange,and the total number of exchanges ranged from 1 to 3 sessions.After 2 chemotherapy courses,the free light chain difference(dFLC),serum creatinine(Scr),and other renal function indexes were compared between the two groups.Results·Compared with the control group,the experimental group showed no statistically significant difference in dFLC levels.The Scr level decreased[67.00(54.00,75.00)μmol/L vs 77.50(63.00,94.00)μmol/L,P=0.011],and the estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR)increased[97.80(92.80,101.30)mL/(min·1.73 m2)vs 85.80(61.35,95.35)mL/(min·1.73 m2),P<0.001]after treatment.Before treatment,the numbers of patients with MM-related severe renal injury[eGFR<50 mL/(min·1.73 m2)]were 41 in the control group and 28 in the experimental group.After treatment,8 patients(19.51%)in the control group achieved complete renal response[eGFR≥60 mL/(min·1.73 m2)],while 12 patients(42.86%)in the experimental group achieved the same,with the difference being statistically significant(P=0.036).After two courses of treatment,the overall response rates(ORR)of the control group and the experimental group were 76.47%and 92.68%,respectively,and the difference in overall therapeutic efficacy was statistically significant(P=0.031).Conclusion·Plasma exchange combined with classical chemotherapy can significantly reduce the Scr levels and increase eGFR in MM patients within a short period,ameliorating the MM-related renal impairment to some extent and improving clinical treatment outcomes.
