Synthetic biology is a crucial tool for the development of the bio-industry and bio-economy, representing a significant aspect of new quality productive forces. As a core course for graduate students in bioengineering, Synthetic Biology plays a vital role in ensuring the supply of essential talents for the development of the bio-industry in the new era. To better serve regional economic development and provide high-level talents for China's progress in the bio-industry, we analyzed typical issues encountered in the past teaching activities, set up a multi-disciplinary teaching team, optimized the course contents, adjusted the teaching mode, and mobilized students' learning interest. With the application of scientific research project as the starting point, we guided students to think and discuss deeply through the simulation of application writing and project defense, which improved students' critical thinking and innovative thinking. With industrialization as a focus, we explored a new training model combining production, education, and research through the joint practice base of the university and enterprises introduced typical cases of biomanufacturing to encourage students to engage in scientific research. The teaching reform significantly enhances the comprehensive abilities and national sentiments of graduate students. This paper hopes to serve as a reference for colleagues engaged in teaching in this field.

Objective To compare the efficacy of double filtration plasmapheresis(DFPP),centrifugal therapeutic plasma exchange(cTPE)and centrifugation-filtration plasmapheresis(CFPP)in improving renal insufficiency after kidney transplantation,as well as the differences in inducing plasma exchange-related adverse reactions. Methods Clinical data from 46 patients who underwent plasma exchange after renal transplantation in our hospital were retrospectively collected, and patiens were divided into DFPP group(n=33),cTPE group(n=7)and CFPP group(n=6).Changes in peripheral blood creatinine, albumin, hemoglobin, platelets, fibrinogen levels and urine volume before and after TPE were compared and analyzed among the three groups. Results Among the DFPP group,cTPE group and CFPP group, the creatinine after TPE decreased by(31.40±25.38)%,(58.91±19.75)%and(39.44±28.64)%,respectively,with cTPE group significant-ly higher than the DFPP group(P<0.05),but no significant differences between the DFPP group and cTPE group(P>0.05);the urine volume after TPE increased by(49.33±30.03)%,(54.62±39.32)%and(68.89±23.00)%,showing no significant differences(P>0.05);the hemoglobin after TPE decreased by(11.97±5.94)%,(20.17±5.75)%and(9.65±8.75)%,respectively,with the cTPE group significantly higher than the DFPP group and CFPP group(P<0.05),but no significant difference between the DFPP group and CFPP group(P>0.05).The platelet count after TPE decreased by(37.88±18.39)%,(24.56±12.36)%and(21.40±12.51)%,respectively,with no significant differences between the three groups(P>0.05);the fibrinogen after TPE decreased by(0.57±0.20)%,(0.14±0.06)%and(0.26±0.22)%,re-spectively,with the DFPP group significantly higher than the cTPE group(P<0.05),but the CFPP group had no significant difference with cTPE group or DFPP group(P>0.05);the albumin after TPE decreased by(11.41±5.97)%,(14.67±6.52)%and(25.18±5.10)%,respectively,with cTPE group and DFPP group significantly lower than the CFPP group(P<0.05,P<0.001),but with no significant difference between the DFPP group and cTPE group(P>0.05).Conclusion The effect of three plasma exchange methods varies on renal function, anemia and coagulation function of patients after kid-ney transplantation. It is necessary to consider the the patient's disease characteristics and treatment needs,as well as the laboratory′s technical conditions and plasma supply when selecting TPE methods.

To summarize the nursing experience of a patient undergoing laryngeal transplantation due to laryngeal cancer. The case involved the development of a critical care management plan by a multidisciplinary team.By implementing nursing measures such as refined airway care, professional neck wound complication management, precise administration of immunosuppressants, ultrasound monitoring for nutritional management assurance, individualized psychological care, early rehabilitation of swallowing, speech and body function, thyroid function and hyperglycemia monitoring and other measures, the patient stayed in ICU for 23 days post-surgery and discharged after 40 days from admission.

OBJECTIVETo explore the candidate disease causing gene for a case with floppy infant syndrome (FIS).
METHODSSingle nucleotide polymorphism array (SNP array) was used for analyzing the whole genome copy number mutations in the proband. Multiple PCR combined with denaturing high performance liquid chromatography (DHPLC) was employed to verify the suspected mutations in the proband and his family members.
RESULTSA large duplication arr [hg19] Xq13.1: 67 987 646-73 805 828, which spans approximately 5.818182 Mb and encompasses 66 known genes, was identified in the proband. The multiple PCR-DHPLC assay confirmed duplication of HDAC8, PHKA1, TAF1, DLG3, KIF4A, IGBP1, PJA1 and SLC16A2 genes in the proband. His mother and grandmother both had duplication of the above genes in one X chromosome, but his aunt had not.
CONCLUSIONThe large Xq13.1 duplication identified by the SNP array probably underlies the FIS in this family. For its high-throughput, high resolution and capacity of automation, SNP array has provided a first line method for the genetic testing for infants featuring developmental delay with unknown reason, mental retardation, autism, multiple malformation and FIS.

Objective To assess peritonitis rate in peritoneal dialysis. Methods The peritonitis rate from 1999 Aug. 1st to 2004 Jun 30th in Renji Peritoneal Dialysis Center was analyzed retrospectively. Various methods including cohort-specific peritonitis incidence, negative binomial distribution model, median subject-specific peritonitis incidence and peritonitis-free survival were used for the analysis. Results Cohort-specific peritonitis incidence was 1756. 14 patient-month, the mean peritonitis rate estimated using the negative binomial model was 1/49.58 patient-month, median subject-specific peritonitis rate was 0, mean peritonitis-free survival time was 39. 71 months, the peritonitis-free time was inversely correlated with subject-specific peritonitis rate(P
