The S100 calcium-binding protein family member A16(S100A16)exhibits differential expression in various malignant tumors and plays a critical role in tumor progression, including effects on tumor cell proliferation,apoptosis,adhesion,epithelial-mesenchymal transition, migration, and invasion. Its aberrant expression is associated with adverse clinical outcomes, making it a potential prognostic biomarker.Fur-thermore,S100A16 is closely linked to the infiltration of immune cells within the tumor microenvironment, contributing to the establish-ment of an immunosuppressive state. The expression level of S100A16 in tumor-associated endothelial cells may also correlate with the formation of an inhibitory immune microenvironment.Additionally,S100A16 has been implicated in tumor chemotherapy resistance. This review summarizes recent advances in our understanding of the mechanisms by which S100A16 contributes to different types of tumors, its regulatory effects on the tumor immune microenvironment, and its role in drug treatment resistance. The aim of this review is to elucidate the underlying mechanisms of tumor prevention and treatment and provide a theoretical foundation for overcoming drug resistance in can-cer therapy.

CRISPR/Cas9 has been widely used in engineering Saccharomyces cerevisiae for gene insertion, replacement and deletion due to its simplicity and high efficiency. The selectable markers of CRISPR/Cas9 systems are particularly useful for genome editing and Cas9-plasmids removing in yeast. In our previous research, GAL80 gene has been deleted by the plasmid pML104-mediated CRISPR/Cas9 system in an engineered yeast, in order to eliminate the requirement of galactose supplementation for induction. The maximum artemisinic acid production by engineered S. cerevisiae 1211-2 (740 mg/L) was comparable to that of the parental strain 1211 without galactose induction. Unfortunately, S. cerevisiae 1211-2 was inefficient in the utilization of the carbon source ethanol in the subsequent 50 L pilot fermentation experiment. The artemisinic acid yield in the engineered S. cerevisiae 1211-2 was only 20%-25% compared with that of S. cerevisiae 1211. The mutation of the selection marker URA3 was supposed to affect the growth and artemisinic acid production. A ura3 mutant was successfully restored by a recombinant plasmid pML104-KanMx4-u along with a 90 bp donor DNA, resulting in S. cerevisiae 1211-3. This mutant could grow normally in a fed-batch fermentor with mixed glucose and ethanol feeding, and the final artemisinic acid yield (> 20 g/L) was comparable to that of the parental strain S. cerevisiae 1211. In this study, an engineered yeast strain producing artemisinic acid without galactose induction was obtained. More importantly, it was the first report showing that the auxotrophic marker URA3 significantly affected artemisinic acid production in a pilot-scale fermentation with ethanol feeding, which provides a reference for the production of other natural products in yeast chassis.

BACKGROUND:
Improving and maintaining the health of mothers and newborns is indisputably a global priority, especially during a pandemic. This study intends to examine the factors associated with cesarean section (CS) during lockdown time.
METHODS:
A total of 678 women who just gave birth within 7 days were enrolled from maternal and children hospitals in nine cities of China from April to May 2020. The delivery modes and potential influencing factors were investigated. The subgroup analysis and sensitivity analysis were used to examine the association of CS and risk factors among populations with different characteristics and to control for possible confounding, respectively.
RESULTS:
The overall rate of cesarean delivery was 37.3%. In multi-variant model, maternal age > 30 years (OR, 95% CI = 1.71, 1.21-2.41), higher pre-gestational BMI (OR, 95% CI = 1.16, 1.10-1.23), living in regions with confirmed COVID-19 cases > 500 (OR, 95% CI = 2.45, 1.74-3.45), and excess gestational weight gain (OR, 95% CI = 1.73, 1.17-2.55) were associated with cesarean delivery. These trends of associations were not changes in sensitivity analysis and subgroup analysis. Cesarean delivery occurred more in women who got more nutrition instruction during the pandemic period in the univariant model; however, this association showed insignificance in the multiple-variant analysis.
CONCLUSION
A high cesarean delivery rate was found in uninfected women who experienced lockdown in their third trimester. During the COVID-19 pandemic, more medical support should be provided in severely affected regions to ensure and promote health in pregnancy.

Objective:To investigate the current status of emotional intelligence and conflict management model of emergency department nurses, analyze the correlation between emotional intelligence and conflict management model. Methods:A convenient sampling method was used to investigate on 195 emergency department nurses with general information scale, emotional intelligence scale and conflict management model scale. Results:In the emergency department, the emotional intelligence score of the nurses from high to low was regulation of emotion (3.71±0.67), self-emotion detection (3.55±0.67), use of emotional (3.49±0.70), other people ′s emotion appraisal (3.39±0.60). The most commonly used conflict management mode was integration (3.78±0.62), followed by concession (3.59±0.63), evasion (3.55±0.64), compromise (3.39±0.66), and the least commonly used was dominance (2.55±0.56). Every dimensions of emotional intelligence were correlated with conflict management model positively ( r values were 0.109-0.523, P<0.05 or 0.01), the top predictive factor was emotion detection. Conclusions:The emotional intelligence is an important factor influencing the conflict management mode of nurses in emergency department. Managers should pay attention to improve emergency nurses ′ emotional intelligence and guide them to adopt appropriate conflict management model, which will help alleviate the contradiction between emergency nurses and patients and create a more harmonious emergency care relationship.

Objective:To explore the relationship between dietary quality and the risk of diabetes and prediabetes among urban women based on alternative healthy eating index-2010(AHEI-2010).Methods:From March to July 2016, a total of 1 061 female residents from 8 cities, Beijing, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Lanzhou, Xuchang, Jilin, Wuhu and Chenzhou in China, were selected by using the multi-stage sampling method. The basic characteristics of all participants were collected by using self-made questionnaire, and the dietary status of the subjects was collected by using 24-hour dietary recall method. AHEI-2010 scores were calculated and the diet was divided into low, medium and high dietary quality group according to the third quartile. All participants received physical examination, systolic blood pressure test, fasting blood glucose test and glycosylated hemoglobin test. Unconditional logistic regression model was used to analyze the relationship between dietary quality and the risk of diabetes and prediabetes. Results:The age of all participants was(48.0±17.5) years old. The median( P25, P75) of AHEI-2010 score was 46.52(40.04, 54.88). The prevalence of diabetes and prediabetes were 13.3%(141 cases) and 50.0%(530 cases), respectively. Unconditional logistic regression analysis showed that after adjusting for age, city, education, diet control, physical activity, energy intake and waist circumference, compared with the low diet quality group, the OR(95% CI) values of medium, high dietary quality group and diabetes risk were 0.96(0.57-1.62) and 0.63(0.36-1.09), respectively; the OR(95% CI) values of medium, high dietary quality group and prediabetes risk were 0.93(0.64-1.35) and 1.28(0.87-1.88), respectively. Conclusion:The dietary quality of urban women based on AHEI-2010 evaluation is not related to the risk of diabetes and prediabetes.
