Fascioliasis hepatica, caused by Fasciola hepatica, is a serious zoonotic parasitic disease, and F. hepatica mainly infects ruminants and occasionally humans. This article presents the diagnosis and treatment of an acute fascioliasis hepatica case with complaints of “abdominal distension and yellowing of skin and sclera for one day”, so as to provide insights into clinical diagnosis and treatment of fascioliasis hepatica and avoid misdiagnosis and mistreatment.

Pediatric cough is a heterogeneous condition in terms of symptoms and the underlying disease mechanisms. Symptom phenotypes hold complicated interactions between each other to form an intricate network structure. This study aims to investigate whether the network structure of pediatric cough symptoms is associated with the prognosis and outcome of patients. A total of 384 cases were derived from the electronic medical records of a highly experienced traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) physician. The data were divided into two groups according to the therapeutic effect, namely, an invalid group (group A with 40 cases of poor efficacy) and a valid group (group B with 344 cases of good efficacy). Several well-established analysis methods, namely, statistical test, correlation analysis, and complex network analysis, were used to analyze the data. This study reports that symptom networks of patients with pediatric cough are related to the effectiveness of treatment: a dense network of symptoms is associated with great difficulty in treatment. Interventions with the most different symptoms in the symptom network may have improved therapeutic effects.

Objective:
Comparison of effects of Zingiberis Rhizoma and Aristolochia manshuriensis on diuretic effect and acute renal injury in rats by combining two methods of co-decoction and mixed-decoction. The effects of in vitro observation on normal human renal tubular epithelial cells (HK-2) were observed.
Methods:
The rats were randomly divided into five groups: blank group, positive control group, aristolochia manshuriensis group, combined decoction group and divided decoction group, 8 rats in each group. The water-loading rat model was established by intragastric administration of normal saline. The urine of rats was collected and the volumes of urine were measured for 24 hours after the corresponding drugs were given to each group. After 2 weeks of gavage of the corresponding drugs in each group, the serum BUN, SCr and urine UCr and PRO levels were measured by 7600P automatic biochemical analyzer, and renal histopathology were observed by HE staining. The HK-2 cells were cultured in vitro and divided into control group, Aristolochia manshuriensis group, mixed decoction group and sub-decoction group. After 24 hour intervention, the activity of cells was detected by CCK-8 method and the apoptosis was observed by Hoechst stain method.
Results:
There was no significant difference in 24 hour urine output between the groups (

OBJECTIVE:
To assess the value of copy number variation analysis based on next generation sequencing (CNV-seq) in prenatal diagnosis for women at advanced maternal age.
METHODS:
A prospective analysis was carried out for women who underwent amniocentesis at 18~36 weeks of gestation for fetal CNV-seq for advanced maternal age.
RESULTS:
For 1461 unrelated Chinese women with a singleton pregnancy, CNV-seq was performed for all samples successfully. The proportion of chromosomal abnormalities was 2.3% (34/1461), of which 44.12% were submicroscopic copy number variations (<5 Mb).
CONCLUSION
Pregnant women at an advanced maternal age should be informed for not only common trisomies but all pathogenic chromosomal aberrations. NGS was a sensitive and accurate approach for detecting CNVs.

Objective·To observe mitochondria permeability transition pore (mPTP) opening and apoptosis of H9c2 myocardial cell stimulated by lipopolysaccharide (LPS),and to explore the anti-apoptotic effect of combined application of cyclosporine A (CsA) and ryanodine (Rya). Methods·The H9c2 cells were divided into Control group,LPS group,LPS+CsA group,LPS+Rya group, and LPS+CsA+Rya group. The mPTP opening state,Ca2+ concentration within cell and mitochondrial, mitochondrial membrane potential (AΦm),cell apoptosis, expression of Bax and Bcl-2 at mRNA and protein levels, and activity of caspase 3 were determined respectively. Results·mPTP opened after being stimulated by LPS for 24 h,which increased the fluorescence intensity for Ca2+in cytosolic and mitochondria by 298% and 231% respectively, induced about 1/3 cell apoptosis, improved the activity of caspase 3 approximately twice, and enhanced expression ofBax mRNA (P=0.008).The combined use of CsA and Rya effectively inhibited mPTP opening, increased the enhancement of fluorescence intensity for Ca2+in both cytosolic and mitochondria, maintained normal AΦrn,reduced LPS-induced apoptosis, inhibited the activity of caspase 3,and decreased Bax mRNA expression level induced by LPS in the myocardial cells. Conclusion·mPTP plays an important role in in LPS-induced myocardial apoptosis, whereas the combination of CsA and Rya can alleviate it effectively.

Objective To explore the effects of comprehensive nurisng intervention on prenventing incontinence-associated dermatitis in patients with consciousness disorder, and to provide effective prevention methods accordingly. Methods Patients with consciousness disorder and fecal incontinence who were admitted by a Grade Ⅱ general hospital between April 2015 and December 2016 were selected and randomly divided into an intervention group and a control group. Patients in the control group received stool drainage with anal tracheal catheter with aerocyst connected to drainage bags, while patients in the intervention group received comprehensive nurisng, including disposable drainage with stoma bags, skin protection with liquid dressing and stoma bag rinsing with 0.9% sodium chloride solution. Results The patients in the control group were nursed for(62.00±6.41)min a day, while the patients in the intervention group were nursed for(47.00±5.26) min a day. The patients in the intervention group needed shorter nursing time than the patients in the control group(t=4.24,P<0.01). The incidence of incontinence-associated dermatitis of the patients in the intervention group(26.92%)was lower than that of the patients in the control group(47.83%)(χ2=4.59,P < 0.05). Conclusions Comprehensive nurisng can reduce the incidence of incontinence-associated dermatitis in patients with mental disorder.

Shuangdan oral liquid (SDO) containing radix Salviae miltiorrhizae (Chinese name Danshen) and cortex moutan (Chinese name Mudanpi) is a traditional Chinese medicine using for treating vascular diseases. Danshensu (DSS) is a main effective monomer composition derived from radix Salviae miltiorrhizae and paeonol (Pae) from cortex moutan. Although the two herbs are widely used in traditional Chinese medicine, the pharmacological functions of their active compositions were not reported. Therefore, the research of DSS and Pae in mechanisms and pharmacodynamics interaction can provide scientific evidence to support clinical application. The diabetic nephropathy (DN) rats which were induced by streptozotocin (STZ) were treated with SDO, DSS, Pae, and DSS+Pae for eight weeks. The positive effects on DN animal models were investigated by detection of physiological and biochemical indexes and oxidative stress markers, within five treatments: SDO, DSS, Pae, DSS+Pae and insulin group. Compared with the model group, the DSS+Pae group improved the renal function, blood lipid metabolism and blood viscosity, increased the vitality of T-SOD or T-AOC and decreased the level of MDA or NO after the treatment. The study was successfully showed that the DSS+Pae group could delay the process of DN, especially in the renal injury part of histopathology changes. Our results suggest that the co-administration of DSS and Pae significantly may play a protective role in DN rats through decreasing the oxidative stress and improving the blood lipid metabolism mechanisms.
