Objective To evaluate the accuracy of multiparametric imaging on the dual-source CT through acceptance and commissioning testing, and to provide a reference for standardized clinical application. Methods Both the adult and pediatric dual-source CT scanning modes were used to scan the electron density phantom, and identical multiparametric image reconstruction tasks were performed, including the conventional CT images, the mixed CT images, the virtual monoenergetic images, the iodine images, the electron density images, and the effective atomic number images. Results In the adult scanning mode, the virtual monoenergetic CT numbers showed the greatest difference for the cortical bone (1722 HU at 40 keV vs. 30 HU at 80 keV), with smaller differences observed for other materials as their atomic numbers decreased. The pediatric scanning mode exhibited a similar trend, with the largest difference occurring at 40 keV (1393 HU). In the adult scanning mode, the deviations between the theoretical and measured iodine concentration values were all within 5%, whereas in the pediatric scanning mode, the largest deviation was 15% for an iodine concentration of 2.0 mg/mL. For the electron density, the largest deviation between the theoretical and measured values occurred in the LN450 lung (9.18% in the adult scanning mode and 8.96% in the pediatric scanning mode); the deviations for the LN300 lung were all below 7.2%, for aluminum below 6.3%, and for other tissues within 3%. For the effective atomic number, the deviations between the theoretical and measured values were all within 5% in both scanning modes. Conclusion To ensure the accuracy and reproducibility of the dual-source CT applications, a comprehensive acceptance testing protocol should be established to guarantee the safety and precision of the CT localization process.

Objective: To evaluate the therapeutic effect of dental autotransplantation with the application of digital design combined with 3D printing of donor tooth models and recipient alveolar fossa model preoperatively. Methods: Twelve cases that could not be retained due to tooth fracture or extensive absorption of alveolar bone were recruited in the study. Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) data were imported into Mimics software for digital design, and the best-matched third molar was selected as the donor tooth. Replicas of the donor teeth and the recipient socket were printed out with three-dimensional (3D) printing technologies as a simulation model for recipient tooth socket preparation. During tooth autotransplantation, preparation of the recipient tooth socket and the donor tooth were guided by the 3D-printed replicas sequentially. Then, the donor tooth was implanted into the recipient tooth pocket. Patients were followed up at 3, 6 and 12 months after the operation, with CBCT examination to evaluate the status of bone reconstruction and periodontal ligaments at each time point. Results: Twelve patients were transplanted with an autogenous third molar with the apical foramen completely closed. Among them, 7 patients had alveolar fossa infection before the operation, of which 1 had extensive resorption of the alveolar bone due to the infection. All 12 patients recovered well after the operation and were followed up for at least 12 months. In total, 11 caseswere successful in tooth autotransplantation with normal mastication, and 1 case had root resorption 14 months postoperation. Conclusion Digital design combined with 3D printing technology can assistin the selection of thebest-matched donor tooth and preparation of the recipient socket before tooth transplantation proceduresand reduce the extra-alveolar exposure time of the donor tooth and number of trial placementsintothe alveolar fossa. Thus, this combined strategy can effectively improve the outcome of dental autotransplantation.

Objective:To characterize the key dose response properties of the novel presage sheet dosimeters for radiotherapy dose verification, including absorption spectra, linearity, dose range and stability.Methods:The same batch of presage sheet dosimeters were irradiated by a radiotherapy linac. The absorption spectra within 400-700 nm were read out with a spectrophotometer, and the R-G-B3 absorption changes read out with a film flatbed scanner was compared before and after irradiation.Results:An absorption peak was clearly identified at 628 nm, where absorptions change in high linearity with delivered doses ( R2=0.9999). A flat valley region is identified around 490 nm, where dose induced absorption changes were negligible. The readout sensitivity of the R-channel of the flatbed scanner was higher than both in green and blue channels. In the dose range below 10 Gy, the R-channel absorptions are in significant linearity with doses ( R2=0.9999), with absorptions change in an obvious quadratic trend in the range beyond 10 Gy ( R2=0.9999). The dose range of presage sheets was more than 94.6 Gy. The absorptions were well preserved within 1 h post-irradation, and then are shown to increase gradually, where the increase speeds are dose-related. The post-irradiation integrity of dose falloff gradients are shown with negligible gradient blurring. Conclusions:The novel presage sheets shown to have reasonable dose response linearity, large dose range, desirable post-irradiation dose gradient integrity and negligible fractionation effect, which indicates its great potentials in integral dose verification of high-dose and multiple target radiotherapy deliveries.

Objective To study the difference of the constructed doses between electronic portal imaging device (EPID) and dynalogs files of linac for in vivo phantom dosimetry.Methods Twelve pelvic patients treated with volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) plans were selected and the information of each plan was copied to theCheese phantom to recalculate the doses before delivered on Varian RapidArc Linac.TheCheese phantom was placed on the isocenter and the electronic portal image (EPI) formed by the EPID was sent to EPIgray software to reconstruct the actual delivered doses.Meanwhile,dynalogs files were respectively imported to the Mobius software to reconstruct the actual delivered doses too.The point dose in the center of each VMAT plan (the center of the effective sensitive volume of ionization chamber) was measured by the A1SL ionization chamber.At the same time,the dose of sensitive volume of ionization chamber from treatment planning systcm (TPS) was recorded.Results The relative deviation between the dose from TPS and the measurement results by the ionization chamber was 1.13％.The difference between the reconstructed doses of EPID-based or the dynalogs file-based with the measurement results by the ionization chamber was not statistically significant (P ＞ 0.05).Conclusions The two methods of dose reconstruction can provide reference for in vivo dosimetry of VMAT.

Objective: To explore the impact of different atorvastatin doses on platelet function and highreactivity in patients with acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) after emergent percutaneouscoronary intervention (PCI) therapy.
Methods:A total of 120 STEMI patients with emergent PCI therapy were randomly divided into 2 groups:Standard group, the patients received atorvastatin 20 mg/day and Intensive group, the patientsreceived atorvastatin 40 mg/day, all patients were treated for 7 days. n=60 in each group. Blood lipids and biochemistry were examined before PCI and 7 days after atorvastatin treatment respectively;platelet fibrin clot strength induced by ADP (MAADP), AA and ADP induced platelet inhibition rate were measured by thrombelastography (TEG) test.
Results: With 7 days treatment, compared with Standard group, Intensive group showed decreased MAADP (38.40±17.40) mm vs (45.70±14.50) mm, P<0.05. On day 7 of atorvastatin treatment, compared with Standard group, Intensive group had reduced occurrence rate of high ADP reactivity (18.3%vs 31.7%), P<0.05. The occurrence rate of high AA reactivity was similar between 2 groups (13.3%vs 18.3%), P>0.05. The patients were followed-up for 3 months and the end point events including unstable angina, non-fatal MI, in-stent restenosis, in-stent thrombosis, and cardiovascular death or target vessel revascularization were similar between 2 groups, P>0.05.
Conclusion: Early stage and short term administration of high dose atorvastatin could obviously inhibit platelet activity in STEMI patients after emergent PCI;such intensive atorvastatin treatment had no reduction on end point events in 3 months follow-up period.

Objective To investigate the effects of different doses of atorvastatin on plasma endothelin and platelet function in acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients after emergency percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).Methods A total of 120 patients with acute STEMI treated with emergency PCI were enrolled and randomly divided into 20 mg of atorvastatin treatment group (standard group,n =60),and 40 mg of atorvastatin treatment group (intensive group,n =60).The blood C reactive protein (CRP),blood lipid profiles,plasma endothelin (ET) were measured before atorvastatin treatment and after 7 days of treatment,respectively.The platelet fibrin clot strength induced by ADP (MAADP) was determined by thrombelastography (TEG).Results Seven days after of atorvastatin treatment,the level of plasma ET in intensive group was significantly lower than that in standard group [(0.49 ± 0.21) pmol/L vs (0.63 ± 0.58) pmol/L,P ＜ 0.05].Moreover,the MAADP in intensive group was significantly decreased compared with the standard group [(38.4 ± 17.4) mm vs (45.7 ± 14.5) mm,P ＜ 0.05].There was a positive correlation between the ET level and MAADP in intensive group after treatment (r =0.378,P ＜ 0.05).However,no significantly differences could be viewed in the CRP and LDL-C levels between the two groups (P ＞ 0.05).Conclusion In patients with acute STEMI,early administration of 40 mg atorvastatin after emergency PCI could significantly reduce the vascular endothelial injury,improve endothelial function,and reduce the residual platelet activity.

AIM: To investigate the effects of curcumin (Cur) on the expression of High mobility group box 1 protein (HMGB1), interleukin-1β(IL-1β), tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) in amyloid-β(Aβ)-induced primary rat microglial cells.METHODS: Microglia were derived from the cerebral cortices of postnatal rat brains.The cells were i-dentified by immunocytochemistry using mouse anti rat Iba-1 monoclonal antibody.A cell model using primary rat microgli-al cells incubated with Aβ25-35 as an inflammation model of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) was set up.The morphological char-acters of primary rat microglial cells were observed.The concentration of Aβ25-35 and the treatment concentration of curcumin were selected by CCK-8 assay.Cultured primary rat microglial cells were divided into 5 groups: normal cell group, Aβ25-35 group, Cur group, Aβ25-35 +Cur group and Aβ25-35 +DMSO group.The expression of HMGB1, NF-κB, and receptor for advanced glycation end products (RAGE) was detected by Western blot.The levels of HMGB1, IL-1β, and TNF-αin the culture supernatant were measured by ELISA.RESULTS: The purity of primary microglias determined by Iba-1 immuno-fluorescence was more than 95%.The protein levels of HMGB1, RAGE and NF-κB were significantly increased after Aβ25-35 stimulation.After treatment with Cur, the protein levels of HMGB1, RAGE and NF-κB were significantly decreased (P <0.05).The levels of HMGB1, IL-1βand TNF-αin the supernatant were significantly increased after Aβ25-35 stimula-tion.Cur significantly decreased the level of HMGB1, IL-1βand TNF-αin the supernatant.CONCLUSION: Curcumin significantly inhibits neuroinflammation stimulated by Aβ25-35 in primary rat microglial cells.

Objective To investigate the effects of insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) and oxidized low density lipoprotein (oxLDL) on expression of phosphatase PHLPP1 in vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs).Methods Rabbit aortic VSMCs were cultured.VSMCs proliferation ability was determined by measuring cell number and mitochondrial dehydrogenase (MD) activity with MTT assay.Western blot was used to detect the protein expression of phosphatase PHLPP 1.Results IGF-1 (100μg/L) increased cell number and MD activity to 3.02 and 3.59 times of that in control group.oxLDL(50μg/ ml) elevated the above two parameters to 2.03 and 2.91 times respectively.Western blot showed that IGF-1 and oxLDL inhibited the expression of PHLPP 1 to 39.27% and 40.26% of the control group (P＜0.01).Conclusion IGF-1 and oxLDL may enhance the proliferation of VSMCs by decreasing the expression of phosphatase PHLPP1 .
