BackgroundPost-traumatic stress symptoms (PTSS) is highly prevalent in adolescents who have experienced earthquake, which seriously threatens their physical and mental health, yet there is currently a lack of research on the effects of loneliness, social support and social media use on PTSS among post-earthquake adolescents. ObjectiveTo assess the PTSS among adolescents experiencing MS6.0 Luxian, Sichuan, earthquake on 16 September 2021, and to investigate the effects of loneliness, social support and social media use on PTSS, so as to provide references for the intervention of PTSS among post-earthquake adolescents. MethodsOn November 12, 2021, simple random sampling technique was used to select 2 522 post-earthquake adolescents in Luxian county of Luzhou city in Sichuan province. All subjects were assessed using Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Checklist for DSM-5 (PCL-5), Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), Short-form UCLA Loneliness Scale (ULS-3) and Social Media Use Scale (SM-10). Binary Logistic regression was used to determine the factors influencing PTSS among post-earthquake adolescents. ResultsPTSS was detected in 91 (3.61%) adolescents. Binary Logistic regression revealed that perceived social support from family members (OR=0.926, 95% CI: 0.879~0.976) was a protective factor for PTSS among post-earthquake adolescents. Lack of companionship (OR=1.764, 95% CI: 1.141~2.727), feeling isolated (OR=2.037, 95% CI: 1.282~3.236), and viewing negative emotional response of disaster victims through social media (OR=1.615, 95% CI: 1.291~2.020) were risk factors for PTSS among post-earthquake adolescents. ConclusionLack of companionship, feeling isolated, and viewing negative emotional response of disaster victims through social media pose a negative impact on PTSS among post-earthquake adolescents, while perceived social support from family members exert a positive impact on PTSS among post-earthquake adolescents. Aromatherapy refers to the method of using the aromatic components of plants in appropriate forms to act on the entire body or a specific area to prevent and treat diseases. Essential oils used in aromatherapy are hydrophobic liquids containing volatile aromatic molecules, such as limonene, linalool, linalool acetate, geraniol, and citronellol. These chemicals have been extensively studied and shown to have a variety of functions, including reducing anxiety, relieving depression, promoting sleep, and providing pain relief. Terpenoids are a class of organic molecules with relatively low lipid solubility. After being inhaled, they can pass through the nasal mucosa for transfer or penetrate the skin and enter the bloodstream upon local application. Some of these substances also have the ability to cross the blood-brain barrier, thereby exerting effects on the central nervous system. Currently, the academic community generally agrees that products such as essential oils and aromatherapy from aromatic plants have certain health benefits. However, the process of extracting a single component from it and successfully developing it into a drug still faces many challenges. Its safety and efficacy still need to be further verified through more rigorous and systematic experiments. This article systematically elaborated on the efficacy of aromatic substances, including plant extracts and natural small molecule compounds, in antibacterial and antiviral fields and the regulation of nervous system activity. As a result, a deeper understanding of aromatherapy was achieved. At the same time, the potential of these aromatic substances for drug development was thoroughly explored, providing important references and insights for possible future drug research and application.

OBJECTIVE To systematically investigate the changes of volatile components in Euphorbia wallichii after milk and wine processing, and preliminarily elucidate the material basis for reducing toxicity. METHODS Using headspace gas chromatography-mass spectrometry technology, the volatile components in raw E. wallichii, milk-processed E. wallichii, and wine- processed E. wallichii were isolated and identified, and the relative percentage content of each component was calculated by the peak area normalization method. Combining chemometric methods such as principal component analysis and orthogonal partial least- squares discriminant analysis, changes in volatile components in samples after milk and wine processing were compared. Differential components were screened. RESULTS A total of 66 volatile components were identified from the three samples, with the types of compounds primarily comprising alkanes, olefins, heterocycles and esters, among others. A total of 39, 24 and 36 volatile components were identified from raw E. wallichii, milk-processed E. wallichii, and wine-processed E. wallichii, respectively, with 10 components common to all three preparations. Compared with raw E. wallichii, the relative percentage of other components in milk-processed E. wallichii decreased, except for alkanes and esters. The relative percentage of alkanes, olefins, aldehydes and esters in wine-processed E. wallichii increased, but the contents of heterocyclic compounds, ketones, ethers and alcohols decreased. The results of chemometric analysis showed that the volatile components of raw and processed products were significantly different. A total of 5 kinds of differential components in milk-processed products and 3 kinds of differential components in wine-processed products were screened out. Among them, the relative percentage of potential toxic components such as linalool, octanal and 3-pentanone decreased significantly after processing(P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS Milk and wine processing may exert a toxicity-reducing effect by reducing the contents of toxic components such as linalool, octanal and 3-pentanonein E. wallichii.

Objective:To explore the influencing factors of olfactory impairment in patients with obstructive sleep apnea(OSA) and establish a nomogram prediction model. Methods:A total of 100 OSA patients were enrolled. Snap&Sniff olfactory test was used to evaluate the olfactory identification function and olfactory threshold of the patients. According to the scoring criteria, either olfactory identification scores below 14 points or olfactory threshold scores below 3 points was defined as olfactory impairment. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to explore the influencing factors of olfactory impairment in OSA. The nomogram model was constructed by using the R 4.4.2 software package. ROC curve, calibration curve and decision curve were used to evaluate the predictive efficacy, consistency and clinical utility of the model. Results:A total of 55 of 100 OSA patients had olfactory impairment. The results of multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that age, ESS score, MoCA score, and apnea-hypopnea index(AHI) were the influencing factors of olfactory impairment in OSA. Based on the above parameters, a nomogram model was established. The ROC curve analysis showed that the AUC was 0.897(95%CI 0.834-0.961), indicating that the model had good predictive ability. The calibration curve showed that the predicted probability of the model fits the actual probability well. Decision curve analysis showed that when the threshold probability was in the range of 0-0.9, the model had a high clinical net benefit rate. Conclusion:Age, ESS score, MoCA score and AHI are the influencing factors of olfactory impairment in patients with OSA. The nomogram model constructed based on the above factors has good predictive value, which is conducive to the clinical multi-angle understanding of OSA and the formulation of scientific prevention and treatment measures.

To improve the effectiveness of bedside localization of nasointestinal tube(NIT)and facilitate the placement of nasointestinal tube into jejunum,we established a procedure and composed a teaching verse for bedside placement of nasointestinal tube based on relevant classical literature and our own practices.Verse content:enteral nutrition means a successful strategy to improve the outcome in critically ill patient management, never hesitate to place nasointestinal tubes when necessary. There are several methods to deal with it,but popularizing it remains a long way off.Half-sitting and swallowing into the esophagus, freely withdrawing signifies the stomach cavity.Passing through the pylorus using light tension on the tube in the right lateral decubitus position.Arriving at the jejunum with low resistance in the left lateral decubitus position. What are the signs of intragastric coiling?Tube return out of nose is the initial observation,Failure of air insufflation indicates tube coiling.Dyeing location surpasses imaging.Vacuum test is the most sensitive,Sequential change from acid to base is specific.Methylene blue test is dramatical for localization.Combining three methods is enough to navigate.Abdominal plain film is the goldan standard and can still be used in ultrasonic era.3-D image establishes overall view.CT reveals the tube route exactly. The teaching verse has become a powerful tool for clinical teaching of manual nasointestinal tube placement in a concise and easy-to-remember form.

Objective To investigate the effect of minocycline(Mino)on the polarization of types M1/M2 microglia(pro-and anti-inflammatory type)in the spinal dorsal horn of rats with neuropathic pain(NP)induced by spinal nerve ligation(SNL)and its underlying mechanism. Methods A total of 36 adult male SD rats were randomly stratified into Sham-operation(Sham)group,SNL group and Mino+SNL group by stratified random sampling based on body weight.Mechanical pain threshold and cold nociceptive thresholds of rat hind paw were measured in 1 d before and 14 d after modelling.Spinal cord tissue at the lumbar 5(L5)segment was taken at 14 d after modelling, and the total number of microglia as well as the numbers of M1 and M2 microglia in the spinal dorsal horn were measured with immunohistochemistry and stereology. With aid of bioinformatics techniques, the core target in the spinal cord,Cst7,was selected. Then, the protein levels of microglia marker Iba-1,M1 microglia marker iNOS,M2 microglia marker CD206,Cst7 encoded protein cystatin F(CF)and pathway CatS/CX3CL1/CX3CR1 were detected with Western blotting. The expression levels of TNF-α,IL-6 and IL-10 in the spinal cord tissues were measured with ELISA.Results The mechanical pain and cold nociceptive thresholds were both significantly higher in the M+SNL group than the SNL group at 7~14 d after modelling(P<0.01).The total number of microglia and the numbers of M1/M2 microglia in the spinal dorsal horn as well as the expression levels of CatS,CX3CL1,CX3CR1,TNF-α,IL-6,and IL-10 in the spinal cord tissues were obviously increased, and the expression level of CF was notably decreased in the SNL model group than the Sham group(P<0.01).While,Mino treatment remarkably reversed above phenomena, with decreased total number of microglia and number of M1 microglia as well as expression levels of CatS,CX3CL1,CX3CR1,TNF-α and IL-6,and increased number of M2 microglia as well as CF and IL-10 levels when compared with the SNL group(P<0.05).Conclusion Mino alleviates SNL induced neuropathic pain, probably through up-regulating CF in the microglia, and thus inhibiting the CatS/CX3CL1/CX3CR1 signaling pathway, promoting the conversion of microglia from type M1 to M2 to balance the imbalance in the M1/M2 polarization, and thus reducing neuroinflammation.

Objective:To investigate the clinicopathological features, differential diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of undifferentiated embryonal sarcoma of the liver (UESL).Methods:Five UESL cases operated on at Hunan Provincial People's Hospital from 2014 to 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. H&E and immunohistochemical staining were done for pathological observation. Results:The 5 UESL patients(two boys, three girls) were 0.5 to 15 years old, all underwent radical surgical resection. In 3 cases tumors located in right liver, 1 in left liver, 1 in both lobes. Radiographically and visually, the tumor is a large cystic solid mass, microscopically composed of myxoid stroma and undifferentiated stromal cells, with pleomorphic tumor giant cells and characteristic eosinophilic bodies. All 5 patients are now alive after surgical resection: 1 patient achieved disease-free survival of more than 91 months after surgery alone. Two patients had recurrence after surgery and received surgical resection plus chemotherapy or chemotherapy alone. They achieved survival of more than 35 and 16 months, respectively. Two patients were treated with chemotherapy or chemotherapy plus radiotherapy after surgery and survived more than 49 and 31 months without recurrence, respectively. Conclusions:UESL is a rare and highly malignant mesenchymal tumor with characteristic pathologic morphology. Radical resection is the key to the treatment for UESL, and chemotherapy and radiotherapy should be carried out after surgery.

Objective:To understand the source and related factors among heterosexual casual partners among male college students for providing AIDS prevention strategies in this population. Methods:Stratified cluster sampling method was used to conduct a questionnaire survey among 31 674 college students in 13 colleges in Zhejiang Province, from October to November, 2018. A total of 2 665 male college students who reported having had heterosexual casual behavior and the source of their sexual partners were recruited. Data on demographic characteristics, knowledge of HIV/AIDS prevention, sexual behavior, and having received AIDS-related interventions were collected. The multivariable logistics regression model was used to analyze the related factors of the source of casual heterosexual behavior partners among male college students. Results:A total of 423 male college students having casual heterosexual sex were investigated, accounting for 15.9% (423/2 665) of the male college students who self-reported having sexual behaviors and informed their sexual partners. Among them, 39.4% (147/373), 37.5% (140/373), and 23.1% (86/373) of participants had 1, 2-4, and 5 or more heterosexual casual sexual partners, respectively. 40.1% (167/416) of participants used condoms consistently with casual partners. 143 (33.8%) participants with social individual's partners were an average age of (20.27±1.40) years old. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that: when compared with one person, common acquaintances, and no heterosexual casual partners in the previous year, the factors that related to the source of heterosexual casual partners of male college students appeared as follows: the number of heterosexual casual sexual partners ≥5 (a OR=3.00, 95% CI:1.53-5.89), seeking the casual sexual partners through entertainment venues (a OR=3.04,95% CI:1.64-5.64), male college students having sex with a regular partner in the last one year (a OR=0.41, 95% CI:0.25-0.68). Conclusions:Some of the male college students had heterosexual casual sexual behaviors, with the related factors as having five or more heterosexual casual sexual partners, seeking casual sex partners through entertainment venues, and low condom use. Self-protection awareness and ability should be emphasized to advocate safe sex to reduce the risk of AIDS transmission among college students.
