Paramyxoviruses are important respiratory pathogens with substantial clinical relevance in pediatric infectious diseases. During infection, multiple forms of programmed cell death (PCD) may be induced, and this plays pivotal roles in viral replication, dissemination, and host immune responses, thereby profoundly influencing the viral life cycle and disease progression. On one hand, PCD facilitates the clearance of infected cells, restricts viral spread, and activates host immune defenses, thereby enhancing antiviral immunity. On the other hand, excessive or dysregulated cell death may lead to tissue damage and immune imbalance, creating a microenvironment conducive to viral replication and exacerbating disease severity. For instance, apoptosis-mediated by both extrinsic and intrinsic pathways-contributes to infection control but may also be hijacked by viruses to promote dissemination. Pyroptosis, driven by inflammasome activation, triggers lytic cell death and the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines. Necroptosis, mediated by the RIPK1-RIPK3-MLKL signaling axis, and pyroptosis both amplify innate immune responses but may concurrently induce inflammatory dysregulation. Immunogenic cell death (ICD), characterized by the release of damage-associated molecular patterns and neoantigens, activates antigen-specific immune responses and holds therapeutic potential for antiviral and antitumor interventions. Emerging evidence suggests that ferroptosis, through the modulation of iron metabolism and associated transporters, may also participate in viral replication and infected cell clearance. This review comprehensively summarizes the roles of apoptosis, pyroptosis, necroptosis, ICD, and ferroptosis in paramyxovirus infection, aiming to deepen the understanding of paramyxovirus pathogenesis and to provide insights for developing novel antiviral strategies.

Objective To observe the effect of Huoxin pill （concentrated pill） combined with Baduanjin on the prognosis of patients with acute myocardial infarction complicated by percutaneous coronary intervention （PCI）. Methods 120 patients with acute myocardial infarction complicated with heart failure who received emergency interventional treatment in our hospital from January 2022 to January 2023 were randomly divided into western medicine treatment group and Traditional Chinese Medicine （TCM）comprehensive treatment group. Western medicine treatment: standard western medicine treatment + five prescriptions for cardiac rehabilitation; based on western medicine treatment, Huoxin pill （concentrated pill） combined with Baduanjin therapy was added to the TCM comprehensive treatment group, and the follow-up was 6 months. The observed indexes were exertion angina pectoris scale, Chinese Medicine Syndrome Scale, Chinese medicine syndrome treatment effect evaluation, 6-minute walking test （6MWT）, left ventricular ejection fraction （LVEF）, and brain natriuretic peptide precursor （pro-BNP）. Results Sixty patients were enrolled in the two groups respectively. During the treatment, 2 cases fell off in the western medicine treatment group and 8 cases fell off in the TCM comprehensive treatment group, and a total of 110 cases were enrolled in the group. Compared with the western treatment group, TCM combined therapy significantly improved angina pectoris scale score, TCM Syndrome Scale score, pro-BNP, LVEF and 6MWT （P<0.001）. There were no significant differences in blood routine, liver and kidney function, potassium, blood glucose, blood lipids and cardiac Troponin I （cTnI） between the two groups （P>0.05）. No adverse cardiovascular events occurred during the entire treatment period in both groups. Conclusion Huoxin pill （concentrated pill） combined with Baduanjin was more effective than western therapy in improving LVEF, 6MWT distance, exercise tolerance and cardiac function in patients with acute myocardial infarction complicated with heart failure.

Objective:To evaluate the long-term outcomes and prognostic factors of locally advanced gastric cancer with serosa-invasion.Methods:This study is a retrospective cohort study. The clinical and pathological data of 495 patients with locally advanced gastric cancer with serosa-invasion who underwent laparoscopic radical gastrectomy in Department of General Surgery, the First Hospital Affiliated to Army Medical University from October 2012 to October 2018 was analyzed retrospectively. There were 356 males and 139 females with an age ( M(IQR)) of 59 (16) years (range: 18 to 75 years). Observation indicators included postoperative results and long-term prognosis. The survival curve was drawn by the Kaplan-Meier method. Univariate and multivariate prognostic analysis was performed using the Cox proportional hazards model. Results:Among the 495 patients, a total of 57 patients (11.5%) were lost to follow-up, with a follow-up time of 89 (40) months (range: 23 to 134 months). The 5-year disease-free survival rate (DFS) and the 5-year overall survival rate (OS) were 56.0% and 58.2%, respectively. The 5-year DFS for patients with stage ⅡB, ⅢA, ⅢB, ⅢC were 71.2%, 60.5%, 51.6%, 33.3%, respectively. The 5-year OS for patients with stage ⅡB, ⅢA, ⅢB, ⅢC were 71.2%, 62.2%, 54.1%, 39.3%, respectively. Multivariate analysis showed that age >65 years (DFS: HR=1.402, 95% CI: 1.022 to 1.922, P=0.036; OS: HR=1.461, 95% CI: 1.057 to 2.019, P=0.022), lymph node dissection number less than 25 (DFS: HR=1.348, 95% CI: 1.019 to 1.779, P=0.036; OS: HR=1.376, 95% CI: 1.035 to 1.825, P=0.028), pathological stage Ⅲ (DFS: HR=2.131, 95% CI: 1.444 to 3.144, P<0.01; OS: HR=2.079, 95% CI: 1.406 to 3.074, P<0.01), and no postoperative chemotherapy (DFS: HR=3.127, 95% CI: 2.377 to 4.113, P<0.01; OS: HR=3.768, 95% CI: 2.828 to 5.020, P<0.01) were independent prognostic factors for the decrease in DFS and OS rates. Conclusions:Laparoscopic radical gastrectomy for locally advanced gastric cancer with serosa-invasion could achieve satisfactory long-term oncological outcomes. More lymph node dissection and standardized postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy are expected to further improve the prognosis of patients with locally advanced gastric cancer with serous invasion after laparoscopic radical surgery.

Objective To evaluate the effect of different honey processing methods on the dissolution of Cynanchum salicifolia in vitro.Methods High performance liquid chromatography ① Carotene and β-Determination method of sitosterol content:chromatographic column:Dia monosil C18(250 mm×4.6 mm,5 μm).Mobile phase:methanol:0.05％phosphoric acid water=99∶1.Isocratic elution;Flow rate 1.0 mL·min-1;Detection wavelength 209 nm;Injection volume 10 μL.The column temperature is 30℃.②Determination method of glucose and fructose:the chromatographic column is Inspire NH2 sugar analysiscolumn(250 mm×4.6 mm,5 μm).The mobile phase was acetonitrile water(77∶23).The flow rate is 0.8 mL·min-1;The column temperature is 35℃;Injection volume 10 μL;Evaporative light scattering detector(ELSD):the drift tube temperature is 100℃,and the carrier gas flow rate is 2.8 L·min-1.Results ①The results showed that carotene and β-the determination of sitosterol showed a good linear relationship in the range of mass concentration(r＞0.9999).The average recoveries were 99.71％and 98.83％.The RSD of precision,stability and repeatability were all less than 2.0％.②The established method of glucose fructose showed a good linear relationship in the range of 0.05-0.50 mg·mL-1(r=0.9991).Conclusion The content determination method and in vitro dissolution test methodology of the study meet the requirements,which provides a scientific basis for the establishment of quality standards and modern research of honey roasted Paeonia salicifolia.

Objective:To explore the effectiveness and safety of endoscopic ultrasound-guided pancreatic duct drainage (EUS-PD).Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on data of 16 patients who underwent EUS-PD because of endoscopic retrograde pancreatography (ERP) failure, poor effectiveness or anatomical changes and couldn't undergo the routine ERP in Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital from June 2018 to July 2022. The technical success of EUS-PD, clinical efficacy and post-procedure adverse events were analyzed.Results:In the 16 patients, there were 14 males and 2 females, with age of 50.69±12.95 years. A total of 19 times of EUS-PD operations were included, 3 of them were rendezvous-assisted endoscopic retrograde pancreatography (RV-ERP), 15 transgastric or transenteric EUS-guided stent placement and 1 was EUS-guided nasopancreatic duct placement. Technical success was achieved in 84.21% (16/19) patients, and among whom 93.75% (15/16) achieved clinical success. The overall incidence of postoperative adverse events was 52.63% (10/19) including 47.37% (9/19) abdominal pain, 15.79% (3/19) fever and 15.79% (3/19) postoperative pancreatitis. All adverse effects were relieved after general conservative treatment and no primary disease or surgery-related death occurred. The mean follow-up was 17.6 (8.2,22.3) months and 93.75% (15/16) of the patients were followed up. By the time of follow-up, 76.92% (10/13) of the patients who had successfully received EUS-PD had no recurrence of abdominal pain or distension.Conclusion:EUS-PD is a safe and effective alternative therapy for those with pancreatic diseases with ERP failure, poor efficacy or anatomical changes.

Objective To explore the solvent effect on the chromatographic retention performance by RP-HPLC in traditional Chinese medicine analysis.Methods Five traditional Chinese medicines were selected to determin by HPLC according to the requirements of each medicinal content determination item in Chinese pharmacopoeia(Vol.Ⅰ,2020),they were gentiopicroside-Radix gentianae,syringin-Acanthopanax enticosus,rosin diglucoside-Eucommia ulmoides,aesculin-Fraxinus Cortex,and adenosine-Cordyceps sinensis respectively.The effect of sample solvent in RP-HPLC was explored preliminarily on the chromatographic peak abnormalities and some solutions were proposed.Results The abnormal chromatographic retention behavior of the five traditional Chinese medicine components were characterized by retention time drift,peak broadening,extending and splitting,the fundamental reason for the above abnormal phenomenons was that there was a certain mismatch between the sample solvent and the mobile phase,leading to different existing forms of the sample between the sample solvent and the mobile phase(Solvent Effect).The results showed that the mobile phase or similar to mobile phase solution was a preferred method to reduce and eliminate solvent effect.In addition,reducing the injection volume or using the solvent effect eliminator can also be used as auxiliary means.Conclusion Solvent effect can cause abnormal peak shape,and had an influence on the accuracy of qualitative and quantitative results,it should be taken seriously in daily Chinese medicine analysis work.

Objective:To understand the current status of anemia, iron deficiency, and iron-deficiency anemia among preschool children in China.Methods:A cross-sectional study was conducted with a multi-stage stratified sampling method to select 150 streets or townships from 10 Chinese provinces, autonomous regions, or municipalities (East: Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong, and Hainan; Central: Henan; West: Chongqing, Shaanxi, Guizhou, and Xinjiang; Northeast: Liaoning). From May 2022 to April 2023, a total of 21 470 children, including community-based children aged 0.5 to<3.0 years receiving child health care and kindergarten-based children aged 3.0 to<7.0 years, were surveyed. They were divided into 3 age groups: infants (0.5 to<1.0 year), toddlers (1.0 to<3.0 years), and preschoolers (3.0 to<7.0 years). Basic information such as sex and date of birth of the children was collected, and peripheral blood samples were obtained for routine blood tests and serum ferritin measurement. The prevalence rates of anemia, iron deficiency, and iron-deficiency anemia were analyzed, and the prevalence rate differences were compared among different ages, sex, urban and rural areas, and regions using the chi-square test.Results:A total of 21 460 valid responses were collected, including 10 780 boys (50.2%). The number of infants, toddlers, and preschoolers were 2 645 (12.3%), 6 244 (29.1%), and 12 571 (58.6%), respectively. The hemoglobin level was (126.7±14.8) g/L, and the serum ferritin level was 32.3 (18.5, 50.1) μg/L. The overall rates of anemia, iron deficiency, and iron-deficiency anemia were 10.4% (2 230/21 460), 28.3% (6 070/21 460), and 3.9% (845/21 460), respectively. The prevalence rate of anemia was higher for boys than for girls (10.9% (1 173/10 780) vs. 9.9% (1 057/10 680), χ2=5.58, P=0.018), with statistically significant differences in the rates for infants, toddlers and preschoolers (18.0% (475/2 645), 10.6% (662/6 244), and 8.7% (1 093/12 571), respectively, χ2=201.81, P<0.01), and the rate was significantly higher for children in rural than that in urban area (11.8% (1 516/12 883) vs. 8.3% (714/8 577), χ2=65.54, P<0.01), with statistically significant differences in the rates by region ( χ2=126.60, P<0.01), with the highest rate of 15.8% (343/2 173) for children in Central region, and the lowest rate of 5.3% (108/2 053) in Northeastern region. The prevalence rates of iron deficiency were 33.8% (895/2 645), 32.2% (2 011/6 244), and 25.2% (3 164/12 571) in infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, respectively, and 30.0% (3 229/10 780) in boys vs. 26.6% (2 841/10 680) in girls, 21.7% (1 913/8 821), 40.0% (870/2 173), 27.1% (2 283/8 413), 48.9% (1 004/2 053) in Eastern, Central, Western, and Northeastern regions, respectively, and each between-group showed a significant statistical difference ( χ2=147.71, 29.73, 773.02, all P<0.01). The prevalence rate of iron-deficiency anemia showed a significant statistical difference between urban and rural areas, 2.9% (251/8 577) vs. 4.6% (594/12 883) ( χ2=38.62, P<0.01), while the difference in iron deficiency prevalence was not significant ( χ2=0.51, P=0.476). Conclusions:There has been a notable improvement in iron deficiency and iron-deficiency anemia among preschool children in China, but the situation remains concerning. Particular attention should be paid to the prevention and control of iron deficiency and iron-deficiency anemia, especially among infants and children in the Central, Western, and Northeastern regions of China.

Objective: To investigate the biocompatibility of copper-gadolinium nanomaterials and their antibacterial efficacy againstEscherichia coli(E.coli). Methods: Copper-gadolinium nanomaterials were prepared using a hydrothermal method, and the samples were characterized and analyzed using instruments such as transmission electron microscopy. The biocompatibility of copper-gadolinium nanomaterials was evaluated through CCK-8 experiments with mouse fibroblast cells(L929). Copper-gadolinium nanomaterials were co-cultured withE.coli, and their antibacterial performance was observed and assessed. Results: Transmission electron microscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy analysis confirmed the synthesis of the copper-gadolinium nanomaterials. The CCK-8 experiment results showed that the material had reliable biocompatibility within a concentration range of 0-2 μg/ml. The antibacterial experiments verified the excellent anti-E.coliactivity of copper-gadolinium, with the antibacterial effect positively correlating with concentration and co-cultivation time. When copper-gadolinium nanomaterials at a concentration of 2 μg/ml were co-cultured withE.colifor 4 hours, the antibacterial rate reached 99.99%. Conclusion The 2 μg/ml copper-gadolinium nanomaterials exhibit reliable biocompatibility and excellent anti-E.colicapabilities.

Objective:To investigate the safety and effectiveness of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) for the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric pancreaticobiliary maljunction (PBM).Methods:Data of 40 pediatric patients under 14 with PBM diagnosed and treated by ERCP at Department of Gastroenterology, Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital, the Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing University Medical School from November 2012 to September 2022 were collected. PBM types, ERCP-related diagnosis and treatment, adverse events and prognosis were retrospectively analyzed.Results:Nineteen cases were P-B type (joining of common bile duct with pancreatic duct), 17 were B-P type (joining of pancreatic duct with common bile duct), and 4 were complex type. Forty children with PBM underwent 50 ERCP-related operations, among which 48 procedures succeeded. One case failed during cannulation of ERCP, replaced by rendezvous-assisted endoscopic retrograde pancreatography (RV-ERP) afterwards. There were no serious postoperative adverse events such as bleeding, perforation or death. Thirty-four patients (85%) were followed up successfully, among which 14 underwent further surgery and 20 continued conservative treatment.Conclusion:ERCP is the golden standard to diagnose pediatric PBM, and it is also safe and effective treatment for PBM.
