Objective:
To explore the association between meat consumption and anxiety symptoms in first year junior high school students in Yunnan Province, and to provide theoretical support for preventing and relieving anxiety symptoms in junior high school students.
Methods:
From October to December 2022, a random cluster sampling method was used to select 8 500 first year junior high school students from 11 counties in Yunnan Province as the survey subjects for a questionnaire survey. The study used Food Frequency Questionnaire and the Chinese version of the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale-21 (DASS-21) to assess the meat consumption and anxiety symptoms of junior high school students. The distribution differences in anxiety symptoms among first year junior high school students with different demographic characteristics were analyzed statistically by using the Chi-square test, and the association between meat consumption and anxiety symptoms in students was analyzed by using a generalized linear model.
Results:
The detection rate of anxiety symptoms was 48.47%. After controlling for demographic variables and confounding factors, the consumption of livestock meat, poultry meat, processed meat, cured meat, barbecued meat and raw skin meat was statistically significant with anxiety symptoms ( β =-0.05, 0.04, 0.04, 0.08, 0.14, 0.17, all P <0.05). Stratified by ethnicity, The consumption of livestock meat, cured meat and barbecue was statistically correlated with anxiety symptoms in Han adolescents ( β =-0.07, 0.14, 0.22 ); the consumption of processed meat and raw skin meat was statistically correlated with anxiety symptoms in ethnic minority adolescents ( β =0.08, 0.18) (all P <0.05).
Conclusions
There is a statistical association between meat comsumption and the risk of anxiety symptoms in first year junior high school students in Yunnan Province. Guidance on meat consumption should be strengthened to prevent the occurrence of anxiety symptoms.

Objective:To determine the epidemic characteristics of polymyxin resistance ( mcr) genes of Enterobacteriales colonized in patients admitted to hospitals in Zhejiang, Henan, Gansu and Shandong provinces in China in 2023. Methods:A comprehensive collection of 667 fecal specimens from patients admitted to five medical facilities across the provinces of Zhejiang, Henan, Gansu, and Shandong in 2023 was collected. Epidemiological characteristics of Enterobacteriales bacteria positive for the mcr gene were examined, employing techniques such as microbial culturing, using agarose gel electrophoresis, PCR, whole-genome sequencing, bioinformatics analysis, and the induction of antimicrobial resistance. Statistical analysis was subsequently applied to the gathered data. Results:Among 667 fecal samples from admitted patients, five samples were positive for mcr gene, with a carrier rate of 0.75%(5/667), and from two of the samples, two different strains carrying the mcr gene were isolated, respectively. A total of seven strains of Enterobacteriales carrying the mcr gene were detected, of which four strains carried mcr-1 gene and three strains carried mcr-9 gene. The positive isolates included three strains of Escherichia coli, one strain of Citrobacter braakii, Citrobacter freundii, one strain of Klebsiella pneumoniae, and one strain of Enterobacter hormaechei. The seven mcr positive strains were isolated from two distinct geographical locations within China, with four from Zhejiang Province and three from Henan Province. After whole-genome sequencing, it was found that the 16S rRNA sequences of the three strains of mcr-1 positive Escherichia coli had high homology. The three isolates of mcr-9 positive strains preserved a significant degree of homology within the mcr-9 and wbuC regions. Following polymyxin exposure, there was a marked difference in the growth kinetics of the ZJ-307, HN-11-1, and HN-135 strains post-induction compared to their pre-induction growth rates, and their motility capacity was reduced. Conclusions:The prevalence of Enterobacteriales harboring the mcr gene is minimal among hospitalized patients. However, it is noteworthy that these genes are prone to horizontal transfer. They can move into drug-resistant strains, which may have elevate minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC). Resistance to polymyxin can alter the bacterial growth rate and motility, potentially impacting the MIC of other antibiotics, thereby complicating clinical management. Consequently, it is imperative to focus on the proactive screening of susceptible populations to prevent the further dissemination of plasmid-mediated polymyxin resistance among clinically significant gram-negative bacterial pathogens.

Circular RNAs(circRNAs)are involved in various biological processes and disease pathogenesis. However, only a small number of functional circRNAs have been identified among hundreds of thousands of circRNA species, partly because most current methods are based on cir-cular junction counts and overlook the fact that a circRNA is formed from the host gene by back-splicing(BS).To distinguish the expression difference originating from BS or the host gene,we pre-sent differentially expressed back-splicing(DEBKS),a software program to streamline the discov-ery of differential BS events between two rRNA-depleted RNA sequencing(RNA-seq)sample groups.By applying to real and simulated data and employing RT-qPCR for validation,we demon-strate that DEBKS is efficient and accurate in detecting circRNAs with differential BS events between paired and unpaired sample groups.

Objective To understand the occupational prevention status of clinical nurses in Guangdong province. Methods We investigated 500 nurses in 15 class-three-grade-one hospitals in Guangdong province on occupational prevention status by questionnaires. Results The incidence of pricking wound and incised wound by ampule was frequent. The percent of everyday incidence reached 44.2% and 49.0%.There were 68.2% of nurses wore gloves when contacting the body fluid and blood of patients,55.3% of nurses wore gloves when contacting chemotherapeutic drugs,53.1% of nurses wore gloves during hemospasia,57.2% of them wore gloves when handling urine. There were 52.1% of nurses did not use gauze for protection when handling ampule. There were 61.3% nurses knew related protection law,18.2% of nurses knew the coping process after the incidence of occupational injury.58.2% of nurses established related preventive measure and instructions,43.1% of nurses thought it was necessry for hospitals to produce more comprehensive and systemic occupational prevention instructions. Conclusions The cognition of occupational prevention of nurses was weak and they lacked occupational prevention knowledge. It is necessary to strengthen the occupational prevention education and training.

Objective To explore the safety of bedside bowel movement during the earlY phase of patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI).Methods 55 patients were randomly divided into the experimental group(28 cases)and the control group(27 cases). The experimental group adopted bedside bowel movement while the control group used routine in-bed bowel movement. The heart rate, blood pressure and myocardial oxygen comsumption(D-P)were observed. Results The heart rate, systolic blood pressure, and diastolic blood pressure in the control group were higher than those in steady state(P<0.05).While in the experimental group the above factors were not statistically different from those in steady state (P>0.05).The D-P both increased in the two groups compared with that in steady state(P<0.05).The incidence of uncomfortable complaint and complications were not different between the two groups but the rate of constipation and mean in-hospital days were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion It proved safe and applicable for patients with AMI to adopt bedside bowel movement during 24 to 72hours after infarction under the electrocardiac and blood pressure monitoring if their vital signs were steady and did not have any serious complications.
