Extrauterine growth retardation is a critical indicator for assessing the development of preterm infants,yet its definition and diagnostic criteria remain inconsistent.This article analyzes the extrauterine growth retardation in preterm infants under various definitions and growth curves.Through a systematic review and comprehensive evaluation of existing studies,we elucidate the discrepancies among different definitions in diagnosing extrauterine growth retardation in preterm infants and predicting neurodevelopmental outcomes.Additionally,this paper provides an in-depth analysis of various methods and effects of neurodevelopmental nutritional interventions,offering novel insights and strategies to enhance the neurodevelopmental outcomes of preterm infants.

Childhood neurodevelopmental disorders represent a significant public health concern that has garnered considerable attention.In recent years,the impact of the gut microenvironment on childhood neurodevelopmental disorders has emerged as a research hotspot.This article reviewed the current research status regarding the relationship between the gut microenvironment and childhood neu-rodevelopmental disorders,encompassing the early connections between the gut microenvironment and the nervous system,the concept of the microbiome-gut-brain axis,the mechanisms of action of the gut microenvironment in childhood neurodevelopmental disorders,clinical diagnosis,and intervention strategies.Furthermore,it provided insights into future research directions,emphasizing the impor-tance of deeply exploring mechanisms of action,developing precise intervention strategies,and strengthening multidisciplinary collaboration,with the aim of providing new ideas and evidence for the prevention and treatment of childhood neurodevelopmental disorders.

Objectives:To analyze the status and temporal changes of disability-adjusted life year (DALY) for stomach and colorectal cancers among registered permanent residents in Changning District of Shanghai Municipality, and provide scientific basis for the prevention and treatment of stomach and colorectal cancers in this district.Methods:Using the cancer registration data of stomach and colorectal cancers from 2002 to 2019, we estimated the indices such as the DALYs, the DALY crude rates, the age-standardized DALY rates, etc. Then we used the Joinpoint regression model to calculate the average annual percent change (AAPC) and annual percent change (APC) to explore the temporal variations in different periods.Results:The DALYs of stomach and colorectal cancers in Changning District from 2002 to 2019 were 55 931 person years and 65 252 person years, respectively. The crude rates of DALY were 512.16/10 5 and 597.51/10 5, respectively. We observed a higher disease burden in men than in women, and the peak rate of DALY in stomach cancer was in the 75-79 years age group, while in colorectal cancer the rate was in the 85-years-or-older age group. Joinpoint regression analysis showed that from 2002 to 2019, the age-standardized DALY rate of stomach cancer showed a downward trend (AAPC=-3.86%, P＜0.05), while the trend of colorectal cancer was not statistically significant(AAPC=-0.08%, P＞0.05). However, the trends in the age-standardized DALY rates of colorectal cancer were different between males and females, with males showing an upward trend (AAPC=1.24%, P＜0.05) and females showing a downward trend (AAPC=-1.67%, P＜0.05). Conclusions:The DALY of stomach and colorectal cancers in Changning District of Shanghai showed a decreasing trend. Males and the middle-aged and elderly populations are still the key targets for disease prevention and control in this district.

ObjectiveTo investigate the prevalence of polycystic ovary syndrome （PCOS） among female college students at a university in Fuzhou City， Jiangxi Province， and to facilitate early detection and intervention of PCOS. MethodsUsing a stratified sampling method， a total of 450 female freshmen were randomly selected for PCOS screening. A self-designed questionnaire was used for data collection， covering menstrual status， high androgen signs， lifestyle， dietary habits， and awareness of PCOS. Sample t test and χ² test were used to compare the basic information and dietary habits between PCOS and non-PCOS cases. The correlation between various indicators and the prevalence of PCOS was analyzed by a logistic regression model. ResultsA total of 12 PCOS cases were identified， with a prevalence rate of 2.99%. PCOS cases exhibited statistically significant differences compared to non-PCOS cases in terms of waist-to-hip ratio， waist circumference， abdominal obesity， the proportion of overweight or obese individuals， and a preference for sweet food （all P<0.05）. Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed a significant correlation between preference for sweet food and the occurrence of PCOS （OR=4.858， 95%CI=1.199‒19.675，P=0.027）， as well as a significant correlation with PCOS accompanied by abdominal obesity （OR=7.083， 95%CI=0.773‒64.937， P=0.048）. Among the female college students surveyed， 37.90% had never heard of PCOS， 51.62% were only familiar with the name of the disease， and 10.47% had attempted to search for PCOS-related information. ConclusionThe prevalence of PCOS among female college students should not be overlooked and unhealthy dietary habits may be a crucial factor contributing to the occurrence of PCOS during this period. Early screening for PCOS during puberty is crucial.

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is the most common inherited heart disease and is characterized by primary left ventricular hypertrophy usually caused by mutations in sarcomere genes. The mechanism underlying cardiac remodeling in HCM remains incompletely understood. An investigation of HCM through integrative analysis at multi-omics levels will be helpful for treating HCM. DNA methylation and chromatin accessibility, as well as gene expression, were assessed by nucleosome occupancy and methylome sequencing (NOMe-seq) and RNA-seq, respectively, using the cardiac tissues of HCM patients. Compared with those of the controls, the transcriptome, DNA methylome, and chromatin accessibility of the HCM myocardium showed multifaceted differences. At the transcriptome level, HCM hearts returned to the fetal gene program through decreased sarcomeric and metabolic gene expression and increased extracellular matrix gene expression. In the DNA methylome, hypermethylated and hypomethylated differentially methylated regions were identified in HCM. At the chromatin accessibility level, HCM hearts showed changes in different genome elements. Several transcription factors, including SP1 and EGR1, exhibited a fetal-like pattern of binding motifs in nucleosome-depleted regions in HCM. In particular, the inhibition of SP1 or EGR1 in an HCM mouse model harboring sarcomere mutations markedly alleviated the HCM phenotype of the mutant mice and reversed fetal gene reprogramming. Overall, this study not only provides a high-precision multi-omics map of HCM heart tissue but also sheds light on the therapeutic strategy by intervening in the fetal gene reprogramming in HCM.

[Objective]To elucidate the meridian manipulations described in the Han bamboo slips of Zhangjiashan from a meridian perspective,providing a theoretical foundation for the application of ancient meridian manipulations in modern clinical practice.[Methods]Based on the records in the unearthed literature and cultural relics of the pre-Qin,Qin and Han Dynasties,this paper summarizes the Daoyin technique in the pre-Qin,Qin and Han Dynasties,explores the in-depth relationship between Daoyin technique and meridian muscles,and selects the common orthopedic diseases in modern clinic,such as neck pain,ankle pain,knee pain and shoulder pain,which are closely related to meridian muscles.The original text and Daoyin movements are analyzed,and the Daoyin movements are discussed from the perspective of meridian muscles.[Results]It is found that the Daoyin described in the pre-Qin,Qin and Han Dynasties is mainly simple body movements.The meridians described in the Book of Pulse are mostly meridiansand tendons,so the theory of meridians and tendons may be more suitable for the thinking of the physicians at that time.Using the theory of meridians and tendons to analyze the Daoyin in Yinshu,it is found that the Daoyin therapy for neck pain in the book should be mainly treated for the neck pain of the sun meridian muscles;the treatment of lateral ankle pain is mainly adjusted by the Shaoyang meridian muscles of the foot,and the treatment of medial ankle pain is mainly adjusted by the Taiyin meridian muscles of the foot;the Daoyin therapy for knee pain is used to adjust the meridian muscles of the six meridians of the foot;the treatment of shoulder pain,the use of"Yuanxing three hundred"to treat the shoulder pain caused by the Shaoyang and Yangming meridian muscles of the hand,the use of"Qianyuan"to treat the shoulder pain caused by the sun meridian muscle disease,the use of"Zhiluo"to treat the shoulder pain caused by the sun meridian muscle disease,and the use of"Houfu"to treat the shoulder pain caused by the Taiyin meridian muscle disease.It is more reasonable to explain the treatment principles of Daoyin using the theory of meridian sinew,which can further elucidate the treatment principles of Daoyin and clarify the corresponding disease indications for different Daoyin.[Conclusion]Looking at the Daoyin manipulations in Yinshu from the perspective of meridians and tendons can further clarify the diseases treated by Daoyin manipulation,make the treatment more accurate and effective,and provide more ideas for the clinical application of Daoyin manipulation in modern traditional Chinese medicine.

Objective:To construct polydopamine-coated silicified collagen(SC@PDA)by polymerization of dopamine,and to ex-plore its biological safety and photothermal antibacterial properties.Methods:Dopamine was coated on the surface of silicified colla-gen by polymerization reaction to construct SC@PDA.The surface morphology of SC@PDA was observed by SEM and TEM,the silic-ic acid release was detected by silicic acid release experiment,and the photothermal properties of SC@PDA were detected by 808 nm laser irradiation and infrared thermography.The biocompatibility of SC@PDA was evaluated by CCK-8 assay with rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells and acute systemic toxicity test in SD rats.The materials were co-cultured with Staphylococcus aureus(S.au-reus)and Escherichia coli(E.coli)respectively for 6 h followed by 808 nm laser irradiation and culture for 6 h,and then the antibac-terial rate of the materials was calculated by absorbance detection.Finally,the anti-infection effect was observed 7 days after implan-tation in the rat femoral defect infection model of SD rats.Results:SC@PDA maintained the silicic acid release characteristics of si-licified collagen and had good biocompatibility and good photothermal property.In vitro and in vivo antibacterial experiments showed that SC@PDA had good antibacterial activity without cytotoxicity and acut system toxicity.Conclusion:SC@PDA has biocompatibili-ty and the dopamine coating endows the silicified collagen scaffold with excellent photothermal antibacterial properties.

Objective:To investigate the independent risk factors for postoperative severe pulmonary infection (SPI) in patients with severe traumatic brain injury (sTBI) and evaluate their predictive value.Methods:A retrospective cohort study was conducted to analyze the clinical data of 163 sTBI patients admitted to Tongji Hospital, Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology from April 2021 and March 2023, including 101 males and 62 females, aged 20-80 years [53.0(46.0, 59.0)years]. The surgical procedures involved decompressive craniectomy, subdural hematoma removal, epidural hematoma removal, and intracranial hematoma removal. The patients were divided into SPI group ( n=62) and non-SPI group ( n=101) according to whether they had SPI postoperatively. The following data of the two groups were collected, including gender, age, preoperative Glasgow coma scale (GCS), elevated blood glucose, abnormal liver function, abnormal renal function, hemoglobin level, anemia, albumin level, hypoproteinemia, white blood cell count, neutrophil count, lymphocyte count, platelet count, neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), derived neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (dNLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), prognostic nutritional index (PNI) and serum lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) level. All the hematological tests were performed on venous blood samples collected preoperatively before anti-inflammatory treatment. Independent risk factors for predicting the postoperative occurrence of SPI in sTBI patients were identified through univariate analysis and multivariable stepwise regression analysis. The predictive value of separate indicator or indicators combined was assessed by calculating the area under the curve (AUC) of the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. Results:Univariate analysis demonstrated that preoperative GCS, albumin level, lymphocyte count, NLR, PNI and serum LDH level in both groups were significantly correlated with the postoperative occurrence of SPI ( P<0.05), while gender, age, elevated blood glucose, abnormal liver function, abnormal renal function, hemoglobin level, anemia, hypoproteinemia, white blood cell count, neutrophil count, platelet count, dNLR and PLR were not correlated with the postoperative occurrence of SPI in sTBI patients ( P>0.05). Multivariable stepwise regression analysis revealed that low lymphocyte count (95% CI -0.337, -0.013, P<0.05), high NLR (95% CI -0.023, -0.005, P<0.01), low PNI (95% CI 0.007, 0.026, P<0.01), and high serum LDH (95% CI -0.002, -0.001, P<0.01) were independent risk factors for SPI in sTBI patients ( P<0.05). ROC curve analysis indicated that low lymphocyte count, high NLR, low PNI and high serum LDH level could predict SPI in sTBI patients postoperatively, with the combination of PNI and serum LDH showing the highest predictive ability (AUC=0.78, 95% CI 0.70, 0.85). Conclusion:Low lymphocyte count, high NLR, low PNI, and high serum LDH level are independent risk factors for postoperative SPI in patients with sTBI, and the combination of PNI and serum LDH possesses a high predictive value for postoperative SPI in sTBI patients.

Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy of lenalidomide combined with bortezomib and dexamethasone (RVd) regimen in treatment of newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (NDMM) patients and its effect on the levels of regulatory T cells (Treg cells) and natural killer (NK) cells.Methods:Thirty-eight NDMM patients who were admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Bengbu Medical College from September 2019 to May 2022 were selected for a prospective study, and were divided into control group (18 cases) and observation group (20 cases) according to random number table method. The control group was treated with bortezomib+epirubicin+dexamethasone (VAd) regimen, and the observation group was treated with RVd regimen. The efficacy and safety were compared between the two groups. The levels of Treg cells (CD4 + CD25 + FOXP3 +) and NK cells (CD3 - CD56 + CD16 +) before and after treatment in the two groups were detected by flow cytometry, and the results were compared. Results:After 4 courses of treatment, the objective response rate (ORR) of the observation group was 95.0% (19/20), which was higher than that of the control group [77.8% (14/18)], and the difference was statistically significant ( P = 0.016). Before treatment, there was no statistical difference in the levels of Treg cells and NK cells between the two groups ( P values were 0.381 and 0.650). After treatment, the level of Treg cells in the control group increased from (1.5±0.5)% before treatment to (4.7±1.3)% ( P = 0.008), while the level of Treg cells in the observation group increased from (1.4±0.5)% before treatment to (6.8±1.5)% ( P = 0.001), and the level in the observation group was higher than that in the control group ( P = 0.027); the level of NK cells in the control group increased from (16±6)% before treatment to (20±5)% ( P = 0.004), while the level of NK cells in the observation group increased from (16±6)% before treatment to (24±6)% ( P = 0.006), and the level in the observation group was higher than that in the control group ( P = 0.032). The incidence rates of thrombocytopenia and neutropenia in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant ( P values were 0.012 and 0.027), which was reversible after active treatment. There was no statistical difference in the incidence rates of other adverse reactions (all P>0.05). Conclusions:RVd regimen for NDMM is clinically effective, safe and reliable, and the patients' levels of Treg cells and NK cells elevate after treatment.
