ObjectiveTo investigate the mechanisms by which Renshentang treats atherosclerosis (AS) in mice, focusing on the regulation of endothelial inflammatory responses mediated by transient receptor potential vanilloid subtype 1 (TRPV1). MethodsAn AS model was established in apolipoprotein E knockout (ApoE-/-) mice fed a high-fat diet. The mice were randomly divided into a simvastatin group (0.02 g·kg-1·d-1) and low-, medium-, and high-dose Renshentang groups (1.77, 3.54, 7.08 g·kg-1·d-1), with 12 mice in each group. ApoE-/- mice were fed a high-fat diet and treated simultaneously. C57BL/6J mice fed a normal diet served as the normal group (n=9). After continuous administration for 12 weeks, mice were anesthetized and the aortas were collected. Oil Red O staining was used to observe lipid plaque formation in the aorta. Hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining was performed to examine pathological changes in the aortic root. Immunohistochemistry was used to analyze the levels of pro-inflammatory factors tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interleukin-1β (IL-1β), as well as the expression of TRPV1, phosphorylated phosphoinositide 3-kinase (p-PI3K), and phosphorylated protein kinase B (p-Akt) in the aortic root. Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (Real-time PCR) was used to detect endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) mRNA expression in the aorta, and Western blot was used to detect TRPV1 protein expression. ResultsCompared with the normal group, the model group showed a significant increase in aortic plaque formation (P<0.01) and significantly elevated levels of TNF-α and IL-1β in the aortic root (P<0.01). The expression levels of TRPV1, p-PI3K, and p-Akt were decreased (P<0.05, P<0.01), and eNOS mRNA expression was reduced (P<0.05, P<0.01). Compared with the model group, all Renshentang groups significantly reduced aortic plaque formation (P<0.01), significantly decreased TNF-α and IL-1β levels (P<0.01), and markedly increased the expression levels of TRPV1, p-PI3K, p-Akt, and eNOS mRNA (P<0.05, P<0.01). ConclusionRenshentang may inhibit endothelial inflammation and suppress the formation of AS by increasing TRPV1 protein expression and up-regulating the PI3K/Akt/eNOS signaling pathway, which may be one of the molecular mechanisms underlying its therapeutic effect against AS.

ObjectiveTo investigate the mechanism of Zuogui Wan (ZGW) in improving ovarian inflammatory microenvironment and stemness of ovarian germline stem cells (OSCs) for treating ovarian aging via the cyclic guanosine monophosphate/adenosine monophosphate synthase (cGAS)/stimulator of interferon genes (STING) signaling pathway. MethodsForty C57BL/6 female mice were randomly divided into a blank group, a model group, a low-dose ZGW group (2.7 g·kg-1), a high-dose ZGW group (5.4 g·kg-1), and an estradiol valerate group (0.15 mg·kg-1), with 8 mice in each group. Except the blank group, all other groups received a single intraperitoneal injection of cyclophosphamide at 120 mg·kg-1 to establish an ovarian aging mouse model. After successful modeling, each group was continuously administered for 4 weeks, once daily. The physiological status of the mice was observed, and the ovarian index was calculated. The estrus cycle of the mice was monitored. Hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining was used to observe pathological changes in ovarian tissue. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to detect serum sex hormone levels. Serum inflammatory factors interleukin-1β (IL-1β), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), and mouse interleukin-6 (IL-6) levels were detected using kits. Western blot was used to detect the protein expression of ovarian cGAS, STING, p-STING, TANK-binding kinase 1 (TBK1), p-TBK1, interferon-induced transmembrane protein 3 (Fragilis), and Vasa homolog protein (MVH). Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (Real-time PCR) was used to detect the mRNA expression of inflammatory factors in ovarian tissue. Immunofluorescence double labeling was performed to locate OSCs in ovarian tissues, and fluorescence intensities of OSCs markers MVH and octamer binding transcription factor 4 (Oct4) were calculated. ResultsCompared with the blank group, the model group showed reduced body weight, ovarian wet weight, and ovarian index (P<0.01) and a disordered estrus cycle (P<0.01). In addition, the levels of serum follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-1β were increased (P<0.01), while anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) and estradiol (E2) levels were decreased (P<0.01). The protein expression of cGAS, p-STING/STING, and p-TBK1/TBK1 in ovarian tissue was increased (P<0.05, P<0.01), while that of OSCs stemness factors MVH and Fragilis was reduced (P<0.01). Immunofluorescence indicated a reduction in MVH and Oct4 expression in OSCs (P<0.01). The mRNA expression of inflammatory factors TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-1β in ovarian tissue was increased (P<0.05, P<0.01). Compared with the model group, the treatment groups exhibited improved body weight, ovarian wet weight, and ovarian index (P<0.05) and a reduced rate of estrus cycle disorder (P<0.05, P<0.01). The levels of serum FSH, TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-1β were decreased (P<0.05, P<0.01), while AMH and E2 levels were increased (P<0.01). The protein expression levels of cGAS, p-STING/STING, and p-TBK1/TBK1 in ovarian tissue were decreased (P<0.05), while the protein expression of MVH and Fragilis was increased (P<0.05), and the fluorescence intensities of MVH and Oct4 were increased (P<0.05, P<0.01). The mRNA expression of inflammatory factors in ovarian tissue was decreased (P<0.05). ConclusionZGW alleviate ovarian inflammatory response, regulate ovarian microenvironment homeostasis, and maintain stemness of OSCs in ovarian aging mice probably by modulating the cGAS-STING signaling pathway, thereby improving ovarian function and delaying ovarian aging.

Chinese Journal of School Health 2026;47(3):347-350
Objective:
To understand the awareness of chikungunya fever knowledge and its related factors among medical college students in Baise City, so as to provide a scientific basis to offer relevant courses and special education.
Methods:
From July to August 2025, 7 286 enrolled medical students were selected by a sampling method from a medical college in Baise City to participate in the questionnaire survey. The questionnaire covered epidemiological characteristics, clinical symptoms, and prevention/control knowledge of chikungunya fever. Statistical analyses including the Chi quare test and multivariate Logistic regression models were performed.
Results:
The overall awareness rate of chikungunya fever knowledge among the medical students was 18.89%. Among the knowledge items, the awareness rate of "the high incidence season" was the highest (84.05%), while that of "the infectious period" was the lowest (17.80%). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that medical students with female (a OR= 1.37 , 95%CI =1.20- 1.57 ), the age for over 25 years old (a OR=1.76, 95%CI =1.05-2.93), whose father had a middle school educational level (a OR=1.18, 95%CI =1.05-1.31), and majored in preventive medicine (a OR=1.54, 95%CI =1.10-1.67) had relatively higher awareness rates of chikungunya fever knowledge (all P <0.05). In contrast, students of Zhuang ethnicity (a OR= 0.87 , 95%CI =0.76-0.98) and majoring in nursing (a OR=0.74, 95%CI =0.61-0.91) or pharmacy (a OR=0.70, 95%CI =0.52-0.95) had relatively lower awareness rates (all P <0.05).
Conclusions
The awareness rate of chikungunya fever related knowledge among medical college students in Baise City is relatively low. Schools should take targeted publicity measures to improve medical students awareness.

Journal of Clinical Hepatology 2026;42(4):900-907
ObjectiveTo investigate the anti‑pancreatic fibrosis mechanism of Klotho‑derived peptide 7 (KL7) by observing its effect on a mouse model of chronic pancreatitis (CP) induced by cerulean, and to provide a basis for clinical medication. MethodsA total of 40 male BALB/c mice were randomly divided into control group, model group, low-dose KL7 group (2 mg/kg), and high-dose KL7 group (4 mg/kg), with 10 mice in each group. All mice except those in the control group were given intraperitoneal injection of cerulean (50 μg/kg) 6 times a day at an interval of 1 hour, twice a week for 4 consecutive weeks to establish a model of CP. The mice in the low-dose KL7 group and the high-dose KL7 group were treated with different doses of KL7 once a day for 4 consecutive weeks. In vivo imaging was used to observe the accumulation of KL7 in the pancreas; molecular docking was used to detect the binding of KL7 to transforming growth factor-β type Ⅱ receptor (TβRⅡ); the mice were measured in terms of body weight and pancreatic weight; HE staining was used to observe the pathological changes of pancreatic tissue; Masson staining was used to observe the degree of pancreatic fibrosis; immunohistochemical staining was used to measure the expression of α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA) and type Ⅰ collagen (COL1A1); Western blotting was used to measure the protein expression levels of α-SMA, TβRII, and phosphorylated small mothers against decapentaplegic homolog 2/3 (p-Smad2/3) in pancreatic tissue. A one-way analysis of variance was used for comparison of continuous data between multiple groups, and the least significant difference t-test and the Dunnett’s-T3 test were used for further comparison between two groups. ResultsKL7 was significantly enriched in the pancreatic tissue of CP mice, and there was a strong binding activity between KL7 and TβRⅡ. Compared with the control group, the model group had significant reductions in pancreatic mass and relative pancreatic mass (P<0.000 1), with disordered structure of pancreatic tissue, an increase in inflammatory cell infiltration, and significant increases in fibrosis degree, the positive areas of α-SMA and COL1A1 (P<0.000 1), and the protein expression levels of α-SMA, TβRⅡ, and p-Smad2/3 (P<0.05). Compared with the model group, the high-dose KL7 group had significant increases in pancreatic mass and relative pancreatic mass (P<0.01), with alleviation of structural damage of pancreatic tissue and inflammatory cell infiltration, a significant reduction in fibrosis degree, and significant reductions in the positive areas of α-SMA and COL1A1 (P<0.001) and the protein expression levels of α-SMA, TβRⅡ, and p-Smad2/3 (P<0.01). ConclusionKL7 has a significant targeted therapeutic effect on pancreatic fibrosis in CP mice through specific binding of KL7 to TβRⅡ, thereby inhibiting the activation of the TGF-β/Smad signaling pathway.

Chinese Journal of School Health 2026;47(6):766-770
Objective:
To investigate the association of special family structure and physical activity with psychological sub health among secondary vocational school students, so as to provide reference to inform mental health promotion in the population.
Methods:
From September to December 2024, a convenience sample was drawn from 16 schools including 5 141 secondary vocational school students across 8 provinces (municipalities) in China (Fujian, Chongqing, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hubei, Jiangxi, Shanghai, Zhejiang). A self developed questionnaire, Multidimensional Sub health Questionnaire of Adolescents and International Physical Activity Questionnaire Short Form were used to investigate and evaluate basic information, family structure, psychological sub health status and physical activity. Descriptive statistics and Logistic regression analysis were performed to explore relationships of special family structures and physical activity with psychological sub health in secondary vocational school students.
Results:
The detection rate of psychological sub health among secondary vocational school students was 11.0%. The reporting rates for secondary vocational school students who lost their father or lost their mother, whose parents divorced, whose parents remarried, and those from special family structures were 2.8%, 0.8%, 11.8%, 3.9%, and 14.7%, respectively. Moreover, the detection rates of psychological sub health and its sub dimensions significantly differed among secondary vocational school students grouped by family type (divorced parental families, remarried parental families and special family structures)( χ 2=5.90-22.67, all P <0.05). Binary Logistic regression indicated that maternal bereavement was associated with a higher risk of conduct problems [ AOR ( 95% CI )= 2.90(1.15-7.33)], and parental divorce was associated with a higher risk of psychological sub health ( AOR= 2.71 , 95%CI =1.04- 7.06 ) among secondary vocational school students (both P <0.05). Interaction analysis showed that both students with a special family structure and insufficient physical activity [ AOR (95% CI )=1.99(1.44-2.75)] and those with a non-special family structure and insufficient physical activity [ AOR (95% CI )=1.81(1.48-2.22)] were associated with increased risks of psychological sub health among secondary vocational school students (both P <0.01).
Conclusion
Special family structure and physical activity are associated with psychological sub health among secondary vocational school students; early identification and assessment based interventions for those with a special family structure should be strengthened, while school based physical activity should be implemented to increase physical activity levels, thereby reducing the risk of psychological sub health.
6.Related factors and pathway analysis of e-cigarette use behavior among primary and secondary school students in Pudong New Area,Shanghai
Chinese Journal of School Health 2026;47(6):795-798
Objective:
To examine the prevalence of e-cigarette use and associated factors among primary and secondary school students in Pudong New Area, Shanghai, and to explore the pathways linking harm perception of e-cigarettes, interpersonal social influence, and attitudes toward e-cigarette use with experimentation behavior, in order to provide scientific basis for further optimizing the prevention and control strategies of e-cigarette among adolescents.
Methods:
From September to October 2025, a multi stage cluster random sampling method was used to select 5 144 primary and secondary school students aged 8-19 years from 47 primary and secondary schools in Pudong New Area, Shanghai, to conduct an anonymous questionnaire survey. The questionnaire collected information on e-cigarette use, harm perception of e-cigarette, interpersonal social influence, and attitudes toward e-cigarette use. The Chi-square test was applied to analyze the differences in cigarette and e-cigarette use behavior among primary and secondary school students with different demographic characteristics. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was constructed using Mplus 8.3 software, and the bootstrap method was utilized to test the mediating effects.
Results:
The reported rates of cigarette experimentation, e-cigarette experimentation, and current e-cigarette use among primary and secondary school students were 1.85%, 2.10%, and 0.70%, respectively. Higher reporting rates of e-cigarette experimentation were observed among boys (2.82%), secondary school students aged 16-19 (3.39%), senior high school students (3.05%), and those with weekly pocket money >100 yuan ( 6.11% ) ( χ 2=11.67, 8.61, 8.00, 54.18, all P <0.05). Structural pathway analysis results demonstrated that e-cigarette harm perception positively predicted interpersonal social influence ( β =0.61) and e-cigarette use attitude ( β = 0.53 ), and interpersonal social influence ( β =0.65) and e-cigarette use attitude ( β =0.25) further promoted e-cigarette experimentation behavior among primary and secondary school students (all P <0.01), with interpersonal social influence playing a major mediating role (indirect effect=0.40).
Conclusions
E-cigarette experimentation behavior among primary and secondary school students in Pudong New Area is jointly influenced by multiple psychosocial factors. Intervention strategies should strengthen interpersonal social factors such as family and peers on the basis of health education, thereby constructing a comprehensive prevention and control strategy for e-cigarette use among primary and secondary school students.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2025;29(8):1643-1649
BACKGROUND:The decreased postural control ability due to mild cognitive impairment in elderly people leads to the increased risk of falls.Dual-task is the primary research paradigm for evaluating the relationship between cognition and postural control in the scenes close to real life. The sample entropy of the plantar center of pressure(COP)displacement during standing can represent the complexity of postural control. OBJECTIVE:Based on the COP displacement sample entropy,to analyze the differences in postural stability characteristics and control strategies between older adults with mild cognitive impairment and cognitively normal older adults during the dual-task with postural control and spatial working memory, aiming to explore the impact of cognitive impairment on the postural control ability during standing. METHODS:Sixteen older adults with mild cognitive impairment and 17 cognitively normal older adults were eligible and selected for the study. They completed five test tasks, including spatial working memory,double-feet balance stance,Romberg stance,double-feet balance stance-spatial working memory dual-task,and Romberg stance-spatial working memory dual-task,with three valid completions of each task. The plantar COP data were collected by the Kistler 3D force platform. The indicators included cognitive behavior(cognitive score and reaction time)and kinematic indexes(COP displacement and sample entropy). RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The older adults with mild cognitive impairment performed the spatial working memory task with the greatest cognitive score and the shortest reaction time, the double-feet balance stance-spatial working memory dual-task with moderate cognitive score and reaction time, and the Romberg stance-spatial working memory dual-task with the smallest cognitive score and the longest reaction time, where the differences were significant among the tasks(P<0.05).In the older adults with mild cognitive impairment, the anterior-posterior and medial-lateral COP displacements were significantly greater, and their sample entropy values were significantly smaller in the double-feet balance stance-spatial working memory dual-task and Romberg stance-spatial working memory dual-task than in the double-feet balance stance and Romberg stance tasks(P<0.05).In the spatial working memory task, there were no significant differences in cognitive score and reaction time between the both groups(P>0.05);however,in the double-feet balance stance-spatial working memory dual-task and Romberg stance-spatial working memory dual-task,cognitive scores were significantly smaller and reaction times were longer in the older adults with mild cognitive impairment compared with the cognitively normal older adults(P<0.05).In the double-feet balance stance-spatial working memory dual-task and Romberg stance-spatial working memory dual-task,the older adults with mild cognitive impairment exhibited significantly greater anterior-posterior and medial-lateral COP displacements and significantly smaller sample entropy values compared with the cognitively normal older adults(P<0.05).All findings indicate that compared with cognitively normal older adults, older adults with mild cognitive impairment exhibit smaller complexity, poorer systematic adaption and decreased automatic regulation of the postural control during performing the dual-tasks,who are more susceptible to spatial working memory interference, leading to the increased risk of falls.

Objective To investigate the functional changes of dendritic cells(DCs)in patients at different stages of hepatitis B virus(HBV)infection and analyze the mechanisms underlying DC dysfunction. Methods Single-cell RNA sequencing dataset GSE182159 was downloaded from the GEO database and classified into healthy control(HC),immune active(IA),and immune tolerant(IT)groups based on infection stage.Peripheral blood samples were collected from 7 IA patients,7 IT patients, and 12 healthy controls.Flow cytometry was used to isolate classical dendritic cells(cDC)and plasmacytoid dendritic cells(pDC).The expression levels of transcription factors in cDC and pDC were measured by quantitative real-time PCR(qRT-PCR).Bioinformatics analyses were per-formed using R and Python package. Results The proportions of DCs in IA and IT groups were higher than that in HC group.Func-tional enrichment analysis revealed that the differentially expressed genes(DEGs)of cDCs in the IA group were primarily enriched for the processes, such as inflammatory response,MHC classⅡantigen processing and presentation, cell migration, signal transduction, metabolism, and immune response. In contrast the IT group exhibited lower enrichment intensity and a significant reduction in interfer-on responses. The DEGs of pDC in the IA group were enriched in the processes of MHC-Ⅱantigen presentation,Fc receptor signal transduction, and metabolism, whereas those in the IT group were showed enrichment only in Fc receptor signal transduction and me-tabolism with a lower intensity. Both groups exhibited reduced synthesis of typesⅠandⅡinterferons in pDC,with the IT group showing a more pronounced downregulation.Cell-cell communication analysis demonstrated enhanced interactions between myeloid cells(except pDC)and T cells in the IA group, whereas the interactions between cDC/pDC and T cells in the IT group were reduced.Transcription factor analysis revealed that STAT2,STAT3,IRF1,and IRF5 were highly expressed in the IA group but their expression exhibited low-er expression levels in the IT group. In contrast,BHLHE40 was broadly upregulated in both cDC and pDC subsets within the IT group. The qRT-PCR results were consistent with the findings from the single-cell transcription factor analysis. Conclusion The IT phase of hepatitis B infection represents a critical period for cDC dysfunction, characterized by significant suppression of MHCⅡantigen presen-tation,metabolism,and interferon responsiveness. The functional impairment of pDC precedes that of cDC,as evidenced by a marked downregulation of interferon synthesis capacity observed during the IA phase.

Objective:To investigate the factors associated with chromosomal abnormalities in embryos of patients with recurrent miscarriage in the in vitro fertilization/intracytoplasmic sperm injection and embryo transfer (IVF/ICSI-ET) population, and to establish a prediction model for chromosomal abnormalities. Methods:This was a retrospective case-control study, aborted tissues were collected from 349 patients who attended the Reproductive and Genetic Laboratory Sports New Town Ward of Dalian Women's and Children's Medical Center (Group) after IVF/ICSI from September 2019 to October 2024, and the samples were examined by copy number variation sequencing (CNV-seq) combined with short tandem repeat (STR) technology. According to the test results, the aborted tissues were divided into chromosome normal and chromosome abnormal groups. Factors affecting the occurrence of chromosomal abnormalities were analyzed by univariate analysis and multifactorial logistic regression.Results:1) By CNV-seq combined with STR method, a total of 252 cases (72.21%, 252/349) of chromosomal abnormalities were detected, while 97 cases had normal chromosomes. 2) The results of univariate analysis showed that the differences in female age, female body mass index (BMI), gestational week, number of miscarriages, progesterone level after 14 d post-transplantation, ovarian reserve function, male age, and male BMI were statistically significant between the chromosome normal group and the chromosome abnormal group (all P<0.05). 3) The results of the multifactorial logistic regression model showed that female age ( OR=1.261, 95% CI: 1.137-1.398, P<0.001), female BMI ( OR=1.121, 95% CI: 1.038-1.227, P=0.004), gestational week ( OR=1.406, 95% CI: 1.155-1.711, P=0.001), progesterone level 14 d after transplantation ( OR=1.016, 95% CI: 1.000-1.031, P=0.043), and BMI of the male partner ( OR=1.132, 95% CI: 1.050-1.220, P=0.001) were the independent risk factors of chromosomal abnormalities. 4) There were statistically significant differences in female age, female BMI, gestational week, progesterone level 14 d after transplantation, and male BMI between patients with normal chromosomes and those with trisomy chromosomes in aborted tissues (all P<0.05).Advanced female age was correlated with the occurrence of trisomy 22 ( P<0.05), and there was a correlation between advanced female age and increased male BMI and the occurrence of trisomy 16 (all P<0.05). Conclusion:The increase in maternal age, BMI, gestational age, progesterone levels 14 d after transplantation, and male BMI can all lead to an increase in the rate of chromosomal abnormalities and an increase in the incidence of trisomy. The advanced age of the female, can lead to the occurrence of trisomy 22. The age of the female and the BMI of the male are positively correlated with the abnormality rate of trisomy 16.
