Objective To investigate the therapeutic effects and underlying mechanisms of rutaecarpine on Helicobacter pylori(Hp)-induced chronic atrophic gastritis(CAG).Methods An Hp-induced CAG rat model was established.Successfully modeled rats were randomly divided into model group,low-dose rutaecarpine group,medium-dose rutaecarpine group, and high-dose rutaecarpine group, with 12 rats in each group. An additional 12 rats served as the normal control group.Body mass changes were recorded before and after treatment.Gastric mucosal histopathology was analyzed using hematoxylin-eosin(HE)staining.Levels of inflammatory cytokines(TNF-α,IL-6,IL-10)in gastric mucosal supernatants were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).mRNA expression levels of inducible nitric oxide synthase(iNOS),cluster of differentiation 86(CD86),arginase 1(Arg-1),and mannose receptor(CD206)in gastric mucosal tissues were detected by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR).Protein expression levels of nuclear factor κB(NF-κB)pathway-related proteins were determined by Western Blot. Results Compared with the normal group, the model group exhibited disorganized gastric mucosal epithelium, reduced glandular structures in the lamina propria, significant inflammatory cell infiltration, and elevated gastric mucosal histopathology scores.TNF-α,IL-6,and IL-10 levels in gastric mucosal supernatants,iNOS and CD86 mRNA expression, and phosphorylated NF-κB inhibitor α(p-IκBα)and phosphorylated NF-κB p65 subunit(p-p65)protein levels were significantly increased, while Arg-1 and CD206 mRNA expression were significantly decreased, the difference being statistically significant(P<0.05).Compared with the model group,medium-and high-dose rutaecarpine treatment reduced inflammatory cell infiltration, restored cellular arrangement, increased glandular structures in the lamina propria, and significantly lowered gastric mucosal histopathology scores,TNF-α,IL-6,and IL-10 levels,iNOS and CD86 mRNA expression, and p-p65 and p-IκBα protein expression were significantly reduced, whereas Arg-1 and CD206 mRNA expression were significantly increased, the difference being statistically significant(P<0.05),with dose-dependent effects. Conclusion Rutaecarpine ameliorates Hp-induced CAG by modulating macrophage polarization and attenuating inflammatory responses, likely through downregulation of p-p65 and p-IκBα expression and subsequent inhibition of NF-κB pathway activation.

Journal of Pharmaceutical Practice 2015;(4):351-355
Objective To compare the co-prescribing patterns of antibacterials between clinic and ER in a tertiary hospi-tal and mine the association rules among drugs in outpatient and emergency prescriptions .Methods The prescribing data of 2009 were sampled and the prescription drugs were classified according to the anatomical therapeutic chemical (ATC) subgroup code .IBM PASW ○R Modeler 14 was used for data processing and statistics ,and the Apriori association analysis model was es-tablished to carry out data mining .Results There were differences between outpatient and emergency prescriptions with anti-microbial in average number of drug items and antibacterials items ,as well as in the distribution of patient age and gender .Ex-pectorants ,cough suppressants and prepared Chinese medicine for “Qing Re Jie Du” played dominant roles in the associations with cephalosporin in outpatient prescription .More association rules in emergency prescriptions were found which were more complicated .The associations between antibacterials and vitamins ,digestive ulcer drugs ,and potassium agents ,as well as an-tibacterial and antibacterials were not found in the outpatient prescriptions .Conclusion The use of antibacterials in the emer-gency is much more frequently than in the clinic ,especially for the inject-able formulations and the combination of antibacteri-als .So it is more necessary to establish a standard for rational use of antibacterials in ER .

Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2008;14(6):566-567
Objective To determine the socio-demographic and clinical correlates of suicide attempts in Chinese schizophrenia outpatients and their impact on patients' quality of life (QOL).Methods Two hundred and fifty eligible subjects were recruited and interviewed using standard instruments. Multiple logistic regression with stepwise method was used. Results The prevalence of suicide attempts was 33.6%. Patients with a history of suicide attempts were more likely to have multiple hospitalizations and poor physical QOL domain. Negative symptoms inversely predicted suicide attempts. Conclusion Suicide attempts could be controlled if more attention is paid on schizophrenia patients with multiple hospitalizations and poor physical QOL domain, which could facilitate the re-entry to community for schizophrenia outpatients in China.

Objective To investigate the subjective quality of life(SQOL)in schizophrenia outpatients and explore the relationships among symptomology,drug-induced extrapyramidal side effects(EPS)and SQOL.Methods198 eligible subjects were recruited and interviewed using standard instruments.Multiple linear regression with stepwise method was used.ResultsEPS was found to significantly predict physical SQOL domain while anxiety and positive symptoms predicted psychological, social and environmental SQOL domains, respectively.ConclusionSQOL of schizophrenia outpatients could be improved if their anxiety and positive symptoms and EPS are effectively controlled.

ObjectiveTo investigate the family adaptability, cohesion and their relationship with symptoms of chronic outpatients with schizophrenia.Methods51 outpatients with schizophrenia were assessed with Family Adaptability and Cohesion Scales, Second Edition, Chinese Version(FACE II-CV) and Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale(PANSS ).ResultsThe level of family adaptability of chronic outpatients with schizophrenia was lower than that of the normal control(u<0.05 or u<0.01);the ratio of the balance category of family decreased significantly and that of the extreme category of family increased significantly;the score of real cohesion negatively correlated with scores of PANSS, Positive Subscale and General Psychopathology Subscale (P<0.05);the score of real adaptability negatively correlated with score of Positive Subscale (P<0.05). ConclusionsFamily adaptability and cohesion of outpatients with schizophrenia close correlate to symptoms of chronic outpatients with schizophrenia and level of family adaptability decreases.

ObjectiveTo study the relationship between mental symptoms and the social functioning of outpatients with schizophrenia.Methods93 outpatients with schizophrenia received tests of Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale(PANSS) and Morningside Rehabilitation Status Scale(MRSS).ResultsThe total score of MRSS,the score of Dependency Scale(DEP),Inactivity Scale(INACT) and Social Isolation Scale(ISOL) had positive correlation with scores of PANSS,Positive Subscale,Negative Subscale and General Psychopathology Subscale(P<0.01).ConclusionsThe social functioning of outpatients with schizophrenia has close correlation to their mental symptom, the more plentiful the mental symptom is,the more serious the social functioning damage is.
