Objective To understand the current situation of nutrition literacy of primary and secondary school students in Shijingshan District of Beijing, and analyze its influencing factors, and to put forward targeted suggestions for improving the students’ nutrition literacy and promoting their healthy growth. Methods A multi-stage stratified cluster sampling method was used to select 2480 primary and secondary school students and their parents from 5 primary schools, 3 middle schools and 1 high school in Shijingshan District. The multivariate logistic regression model was used to analyze the factors influencing the attainment rate of nutrition literacy. Results The median score of nutrition literacy of 2480 primary and secondary school students from grades 1 to 12 was 77.86 (in hundred-mark system), the quartile range (IQR) was 16.96, and the attainment rate of nutrition literacy was 42.46%. The cognitive level (45.12%) was higher than the skill level (41.20%) among students from grades 3 to 12. In terms of skills, the attainment rate of food preparation was the lowest, at 30.38%. The scores of nutrition literacy of girls were higher than those of boys, and the scores of primary school students were higher than those of secondary school students. Students with different levels of caregiver’s education, family income, and family food environment had different scores of nutrition literacy, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the attainment rate of nutrition literacy was closely related to student’s gender and study stage, caregiver’s education level, and family food environment. Conclusion The nutrition literacy of primary and secondary school students in Shijingshan District still needs to be improved, especially in the aspect of skills. Targeted nutrition education should be carried out.

While most patients achieve favorable prognoses with early treatment, patients with advanced TC face a scarcity of effective therapeutic strategies. The thyroid gland is one of the most immunogenic tissues in the human body. With the deepening understanding of immune evasion mechanisms in TC and the application of immunotherapy in various solid malignancies, immune checkpoint therapy for TC has shown considerable therapeutic potential, offering new hope for patients with advanced TC. This paper focuses on summarizing the latest advancements in immune checkpoint therapy for TC, aiming to provide new directions for future research.

Transient Receptor Potential Vanilloid-1(TRPV1)is a non-selective cation channel that is widely distributed in the sensory nerve fibers and non-neuronal cells of the gastrointestinal tract.It plays a critical role in mediating visceral hypersensitivity in Diarrhea-Predominant Irritable Bowel Syndrome(IBS-D).Acupuncture activates TRPV1 receptors at the acupoint area,promoting the transformation of physical stimuli at the body surface into chemical signals within the body.This process coordinates with the nervous,endocrine,and immune systems to inhibit the expression of TRPV1 in the viscera through multiple mechanisms and pathways,demonstrating sig-nificant clinical efficacy in the treatment of IBS-D.This article reviews the mechanisms of TRPV1 in IBS-D visceral hypersensitivity,focusing on its relationship with the gut-brain axis imbalance,low-grade intestinal inflammation,and gut microbiota dysbiosis.It also summarizes the current research on acupuncture targeting TRPV1 in the treat-ment of IBS-D,aiming to provide scientific evidence and clinical insights for acupuncture therapy in functional diseases.

Objective:To systematically summarize the best evidence on non-pharmacological management of abdominal pain in adults with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) .Methods:Guided by the "6S" evidence hierarchy model, a comprehensive search was conducted across domestic and international professional websites and databases to retrieve literature related to non-pharmacological management of abdominal pain in adults with IBD. Sources included clinical decisions, best practices, guidelines, expert consensuses, evidence summaries, and systematic reviews, with the search period covering database inception through July 8, 2024. After evaluating the methodological quality of the included literature, evidence was extracted and synthesized.Results:A total of 15 articles were included: two clinical decisions, two guidelines, one best practice, two expert consensuses, and eight systematic reviews. From these, 32 pieces of evidence were summarized across four domains: multidisciplinary collaborative management, abdominal pain assessment, non-pharmacological interventions, and health education with self-management support.Conclusions:This study provides a comprehensive summary of best evidence for the non-pharmacological management of abdominal pain in adults with IBD. Healthcare professionals should select and apply the evidence based on the patient's individual condition and the clinical context.

Objective:To investigate the effect of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) lotion on incidence of postoperative infection and recurrence of refractory paronychia.Methods:Seventy-eight patients with intractable paronychia who received treatment at Hangzhou Third People's Hospital from January 2019 to November 2022 were included in this study. The patients were randomly divided into the povidone-iodine group ( n = 39) and the TCM lotion group ( n = 39) using the random number table method. Both groups underwent matrixectomy via a lateral incision and rhomboid flap excision surgery. Prior to the procedure, the povidone-iodine group received treatment with a 5% povidone-iodine solution, whereas the TCM lotion group was administered a TCM lotion containing Scutellaria barbata, Verbena, Lonicera japonica, Viola, Rheum palmatum, Atractylodes, Glauber's salt, Phellodendron, red peony root, Glycyrrhiza uralensis, and Magnolia officinalis. Both groups underwent treatment until the patients fulfilled the surgical indications and were subsequently observed for a period of 6 months post-surgery. The clinical efficacy was evaluated 1 month after the surgical intervention. A comparative analysis was conducted to assess the postoperative duration of redness and swelling, pus discharge, granulation, and pain resolution between the two groups. Additionally, the postoperative occurrence of wound-dressing adhesion, the status of wound healing, pain intensity at 1 and 3 days post-surgery, the incidence of infection at 1 week post-surgery, and the recurrence rates at 1 and 6 months post-surgery, were compared between the two groups. Results:At 1 month post-surgery, the total effective rate in the TCM lotion group was 92.31% (36/39), which was significantly higher than that in the povidone-iodine group [71.79% (28/39), χ2 = 4.26, P < 0.05]. The postoperative durations of redness and swelling, pus discharge, granulation, and pain resolution in the TCM lotion group were (5.66 ± 0.58) days, (3.64 ± 0.55) days, (8.42 ± 1.58) days, and (3.36 ± 0.32) days, respectively, which were significantly shorter than those in the povidone-iodine group [(6.73 ± 0.65) days, (4.56 ± 0.48) days, (9.77 ± 2.56) days, (3.89 ± 0.48) days, t = 7.67, 7.87, 2.80, 5.73, all P < 0.05]. The proportion of mild adhesion between the wound and dressing was significantly higher, while the proportion of severe adhesion was significantly lower, compared with the povidone-iodine group ( Z = 4.64, both P < 0.05). The durations of postoperative pain, the time to redness resolution, and wound healing time in the TCM lotion group were (4.22 ± 1.73) days, (3.02 ± 1.16) days, and (11.84 ± 2.50) days, which were significantly shorter than those in the povidone-iodine group [(8.53 ± 2.48) days, (5.20 ± 2.31) days, (13.32 ± 2.86) days, t = 8.90, 5.26, 2.43, all P < 0.001]. At 3 days post-surgery, pain scores in each group were significantly lower than the respective scores at 1 day post-surgery. At 1 and 3 days post-surgery, pain scores in the TCM lotion group were (3.30 ± 0.18) points and (2.28 ± 0.23) points, respectively, which were significantly lower than the respective scores in the povidone-iodine group [(3.61 ± 0.29) points, (2.52 ± 0.33) points, t = 5.67, 3.72, both P < 0.05]. There were no significant differences in the incidence of infection at 1 week post-surgery and the recurrence of refractory paronychia at 1 and 6 months post-surgery between the two groups (all P > 0.05). Conclusion:The combination of TCM lotion and matrixectomy through a lateral incision and rhomboid flap excision surgery for the treatment of refractory paronychia can help shorten pre-operative treatment time, minimizes postoperative wound-dressing adhesion, promote wound healing, alleviate postoperative pain, and decrease the incidence of infection and recurrence of refractory paronychia, demonstrating superior efficacy compared with treatment with a 5% povidone-iodine solution.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the protective effects of dexmedetomidine (DEX) against cerebral ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury in mice and its relation with mitochondrial fusion and fission. METHODS: Male ICR mice were randomly divided into sham-operated group, I/R group, I/R+DEX group and I/R+DEX+dorsomorphin group. Mouse models of cerebral I/R injury were established by modified thread occlusion of the middle cerebral artery. DEX (50 μg/kg) was injected intraperitoneally at 30 min before cerebral ischemia, which lasted for 1 h followed by reperfusion for 24 h. The neurobehavioral deficits of the mice were evaluated based on Longa's scores. The volume of cerebral infarction was detected by TTC staining. The changes in mitochondrial morphology of the brain cells were observed with transmission electron microscopy. Western blotting was performed to detect the expressions of phosphorylated AMP-activated protein kinase (p-AMPK), mitochondrial fusion protein (Mfn2) and mitochondrial fission protein (p-Drp1) in the brain tissues. RESULTS: DEX pretreatment significantly reduced the neurobehavioral score and the percent volume of cerebral infarction in mice with cerebral I/R injury. Treatment with dorsomorphin (an AMPK inhibitor) in addition to DEX significantly increased the neurobehavioral score and the percent volume of cerebral infarction in the mouse models. Transmission electron microscopy showed that DEX obviously reduced mitochondrial damage caused by cerebral I/R injury and restored mitochondrial morphology of the brain cells, and such effects were abolished by dorsomorphin treatment. Western blotting showed that DEX pretreatment significantly increased the expressions of p-AMPK and Mfn2 protein and decreased the expression of p-Drp1 protein in the brain tissue of the mice, and these changes were also reversed by dorsomorphin treatment. CONCLUSIONS Preconditioning with DEX produces protective effects against cerebral I/R injury in mice possibly by activating AMPK signaling to regulate mitochondrial fusion and fission in the brain cells.

Objective To evaluate catheterization in pancreatic duct before endoscopic papillary bal-loon dilation (EPBD)to prevent pancreatitis after EPBD.Methods Forty-three patients with normal serum amylase levels,diagnosed as having bile duct stones,underwent EPBD.Twenty-three were assigned to experi-mental group,where catheters(ERCP imaging tube)were placed in pancreatic duct before EPBD,then the pa-pillary balloon was expanded to 10 mm.Twenty were assigned to control group where eight-millimeter-diameter papillary balloon was used to remove the stones.The serum amylase levels before EPBD,6 hours and 24 hours after EPBD,the incidence of pancreatitis and high serum amylase levels associated with EPBD,as well as the mean time and success rate of removing the stones of the two groups were compared.Results Post-EPBD pan-creatitis occurred in one patient in experimental group (4.35%),and seven in control group (35.00%), which was significantly different(P <0.05).Meanwhile,the mean levels of serum amylase 6 h and 24 h after EPBD in the experimental group were (102.61 ±98.99)U /L and (60.35 ±26.18)U /L respectively,lower than those in the control group (398.25 ±259.32)U /L and (230.50 ±281.31)U /L(P <0.05).After the papillary balloon was expanded to 10 mm in experimental group,the mean time of removing stones was (10.43 ±2.27)min,which was shorter than that of control group (17.90 ±4.49)min (P <0.05).Stone-re-moving rate of two groups had no difference and they all succeeded one time.Conclusion Placing catheter in pancreatic duct before EPBD to prevent pancreatitis after EPBD makes it easier to remove stones in shorter op-eration time.It can prevent pancreatitis and high amylase blood disease after EPBD.
