Background: Despite the critical role of vitamin D in various biological processes, its impact on frailty—a condition closely linked to biological age—remains inconclusive. This study aimed to explore the association between serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25[OH] D) levels and frailty status in older Korean adults, utilizing a comprehensive frailty index (FI) and a nationally representative dataset. Methods: This cross-sectional study included 6,589 participants aged ≥65 years from the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2008–2012). Frailty was assessed using a deficit accumulation FI based on 38 physical, cognitive, psychological, and social items. Results: After adjusting for potential confounders, frail men showed 6.8% lower serum 25(OH)D concentrations compared to nonfrail controls (P=0.007). Men in the lowest serum 25(OH)D quartile (≤39.3 nmol/L) exhibited a 5.3% higher FI (P=0.047) and 1.71-fold increased odds of frailty (P=0.005), compared to those in the highest quartile (>63.3 nmol/L). Similarly, men with vitamin D deficiency (<30 nmol/L) exhibited a 9.6% higher FI compared to those with sufficient vitamin D levels (≥50 nmol/L; P=0.004). However, no significant association between serum 25(OH)D concentration and frailty was observed in women across any analysis. Conclusion These findings suggest that low serum 25(OH)D concentrations are a potential risk factor for frailty, particularly in men. Further research is warranted to determine whether vitamin D supplementation in such high-risk older adults could help mitigate frailty.

Objective To analyze the causes,cardiac function grading and drug application related to heart failure of the patients with chronic heart failure in Yongchuan district people's hospital.Methods The cases of chronic heart failure of department of cardiology in our hospital from January 1st,2012 to December 31st,2015 were counted and retrospectively analyzed.Results 3 320 cases of chronic heart failure in our hospital chosen from 8 126 medical records accounted for 40.86% of total discharged patients in the same period,including 2 262 cases of coronary disease (68.13%),353 cases of rheumatic heart disease (10.63%)and 265 cases of pulmonary heart disease (7.98%),who took up the top three in the spectrum of disease;2 683 cases of NYHA heart function Ⅲ magnitude accounted for 80.81%;The utilization rate of diuretic,digoxin,spironolactone,angiotensin -converting enzyme inhibi-tor,angiotonin receptor blocker,beta adrenergic receptor were 71.23%,27.23%,70.48%,30.75%,30.78%respectively.The statistical analysis showed that the differences were statistically significant between the patients using diuretics and the patients using spirolactone(χ2 =2.386,P <0.001),the patients with hypertension and the patients with no hypertension using ACEI /ARB(χ2 =2.727,P <0.001),and merged chronic bronchitis patients and the chro-nic bronchitis patients using beta -blocker(χ2 =61.807,P <0.001).Conclusion The patients with chronic heart failure takes up a higher portion among the inpatients in department of cardiology in the district level hospital.The heart function decreases significantly and the normative drug therapy needs to be improved.

Objective To explore the relationship between the expression of EIIIA + fibronectin in incised wound of rat’s skin and injury time. Methods The wounding model was established by cutting the dor-salskin of 48 adult SD rats. The rats were sacrificed atthe pre-setinjury time as immediately, 0. 5h, 1h, 2 h, 3 h, 4 h, 6 h, and 8 h. The skin sam ples were taken at the m argin of wound. The expression of the EIIIA + fibronectin was detected by im m unohistochem istry and W estern blotting and the relationship be-tween its expression and injury time was observed. Results The expression of EIIIA + fibronectin was not observed im m ediately. The basal cell of skin began to showpositive expression 0. 5 h after injury. W ith the extension of injury time, positive staining became stronger. The value of relative optical density was gradually increased with prolonged injury time by the W estern blotting analysis. Conclusion The expres-sion of EIIIA + fibronectin could be used for estimation of injury time in the early stage of skin injury.

The fibronectin was purified from human plasma by Gelatin-Sepharose 4B affinity chromatography. The rabbits were immunized with the fibronectin. the raw anti-fibronectin sera were absorbed bythe solid phase of the fibronectin free human serum. Then the specific anti-fibronectin sera were obtained. The fibronectins deposited on human bullet wounds, incised wounds as well as on blunt forceinJuries were demonst.ated by PAP immunohistochemical study using diluted anti-fibronectin serum.The results were quite sati factory.

The experimental right cerebral contusion model was established in rats.To observe the relationship between the expression of Nitric oxide synthase 1(NOS1)and time elapsed after cerebral contusion,the expression of Nitric oxide synthase 1(NOS1)and mRNA was studied by immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization at different intervals after cerebral injury.The results indicated that a positive relationship existed between the expression of NOS1 and NOS1 mRNA and the intervals elapsed after brain injury.This method also can be used to distinguish antemortem and postmortem injury rat′s cerebral contusion.So that,the expression of NOS1 and NOS1 mRNA is of great value for timing of brain injury.
