Atherosclerosis （AS） is a vascular disease primarily affecting large and medium-sized arteries. It serves as the pathological basis for many cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and is associated with a relatively high incidence of complications and mortality worldwide. Traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） plays an important role in the prevention and treatment of AS， demonstrating unique therapeutic advantages through multiple targets and pathways. Ligusticum chuanxiong， a commonly used Chinese medicine in clinical practice， contains key active components against AS， including ligustrazine， senkyunolide， ligustilide， quercetin， ferulic acid， vanillic acid， chlorogenic acid， gallic acid， protocatechuic acid， caffeic acid， chrysophanol， and β-sitosterol. Recent literature indicates that these active components can regulate AS through multiple mechanisms， including improving endothelial cell dysfunction， alleviating lipid metabolism disorders， inhibiting macrophage foam cell formation， suppressing the invasion， proliferation， and migration of smooth muscle cells， inhibiting apoptosis， exerting anticoagulant effects and inhibiting platelet activation， protecting mitochondrial function， and modulating intestinal flora and its metabolites， demonstrating significant pharmacological activity and clinical potential. Clinically， L. chuanxiong is often combined with Salvia miltiorrhiza， Paeonia lactiflora， Angelica sinensis， and borneol to form compound formulations， enhancing therapeutic effects and achieving synergistic anti-AS activity. Compound treatment with L. chuanxiong primarily focuses on promoting blood circulation and shows significant efficacy for different AS syndrome types. This article provides an in-depth review of the active components， drug pairs， and compound preparations of L. chuanxiong in the prevention and treatment of AS， aiming to lay a foundation for subsequent theoretical research and clinical applications in managing AS and its related complications.

Objective: To systematically review the effect of physical activity (PA) on health related quality of life (HRQoL) among children and adolescents and the magnitude of association, so as to provide an evidence based support for optimizing health promotion strategies for children and adolescents. Methods: Medline (PubMed), EMBASE, the Cochrane Library, SCIELO, PEDro, CNKI, Wanfang and VIP databases were searched to collect literature on PA and HRQoL in children and adolescents, which were published up to January 1, 2025. Cochrane ROB tool and specific evaluation system were used to assess literature quality, Stata 16.0 software was used for Meta analysis. For descriptive studies, correlation( r ) and 95% confidence interval( CI ) were used as effect indicators, and the inverse variance method was used to merge the data. Standardized mean difference( SMD ) and 95% CI were used to calculate the combined effect size of intervention studies. Results: A total of 22 studies involving 27 303 healthy children and adolescents were included, including 9 descriptive studies and 13 intervention studies. The results of descriptive analysis showed that PA level was positively correlated with HRQoL ( r =0.27, 95% CI =0.21-0.32, P <0.01). The analysis of intervention studies showed that PA had significant effects on overall HRQoL ( SMD =0.10, 95% CI =0.05-0.16), physical functioning ( SMD =0.16, 95% CI =0.08-0.23), and mental functioning ( SMD =0.17, 95% CI =0.10-0.25)( P <0.01). Subgroup analysis found that the effects of physical activity on overall HRQoL, physiological function, and psychological function in children and adolescents were maximized when the intervention duration was less than 6 months ( SMD =0.13, 0.18, 0.20), the frequency was≥5 times per week ( SMD =0.13, 0.19, 0.24) and there was a supplementary plan( SMD =0.10, 0.18, 0.23)( P <0.01). Conclusion PA is an important factor affecting the HRQoL of healthy children and adolescents, and the systematic PA intervention has a effect on improving the HRQoL.

OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the feasibility, efficacy and safety of Sentinel cerebral embolic protection device (CEPD) during transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). This study is a subgroup analysis of the China Moderate to Severe Valvular Heart Disease Registry, which has been registered at the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry (ChiCTR2300075006). METHODS: Patients undergoing TAVR with the Sentinel CEPD from October 2023 to September 2024 were retrospectively enrolled. A total of 80 patients were included, with a median age of 72 (68, 76) years, including 52 males (65.0%) and 28 females (35.0%); 62 patients (77.5%) with tricuspid valves, and 18 patients (22.5%) with bicuspid valves; 34 patients (42.5%) with type Ⅰ aortic arch, 24 patients (30.0%) with type Ⅱ aortic arch, 12 patients (15.0%) with type Ⅲ aortic arch, and 10 patients (12.5%) with bovine-type aortic arch. Clinical data of the patients were summarized and analyzed. The primary endpoints were success rate of Sentinel CEPD implantation, as well as all-cause death, symptomatic stroke, transient ischemic attack, and Sentinel CEPD access vessel complications during hospitalization and within 30 days postoperatively. RESULTS: In the 80 patients, self-expanding valves were used in 68 cases (85.0%) and balloon-expandable valves in 12 cases (15.0%). Seventy-nine patients (98.8%) successfully underwent TAVR with Sentinel CEPD deployment. Macroscopically visible debris was captured in 92.5% (74/80) by filters of Sentinel CEPD. Although the procedure time for Sentinel CEPD placement was slightly longer in patients with bovine-type aortic arch, there was no statistically significant difference in deployment time among different aortic arch types (P>0.05). During hospitalization and within 30 days postoperatively, only one case of transient ischemic attack occurred, and there was no all-cause mortality, symptomatic stroke, or access-site vascular complications related to the Sentinel CEPD observed. CONCLUSIONS The Sentinel CEPD demonstrates high feasibility across aortic arch types, potential efficacy in embolic capture, and excellent safety in TAVR.

Objective To investigate the effect of community management model on elderly patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation(NVAF),and to provide methods and ideas for the management of elderly patients with NVAF in community.Methods A prospective randomized controlled trial was conducted in 305 elderly patients with NVAF who visited two community health service centers in Hefei and Wuhu from De-cember 2022 to November 2023.The patients were randomly divided into the control group(n=152)and the experimental group(n=153)by random number table method.The control group received routine diagnosis and treatment measures,while the experimental group adopted the community management model.Both groups were treated for 6 months.The New York Heart Association(NYHA)cardiac function classification was used to evaluate patients'cardiac function,the European Heart Rhythm Association(EHRA)score was used to assess patients,atrial fibrillation symptoms,the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale(MMAS-8)was used to evaluate patients'medication adherence,and the general self-efficacy scale(GSES)was used to assess patients'self-efficacy.The ventricular rate,control of cardiovascular risk factors,use rate of anticoagulant drugs,and the incidence of bleeding and arterial embolism were recorded in both groups.Results After 6 months of intervention,the NYHA cardiac function classification,EHRA score and ventricular rate control in the experimental group were better than those in the control group,and the patients'MMAS-8 and GSES scores were higher.The compliance rate of blood pressure and fasting blood glucose,and the use rate of antico-agulant drugs in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group.There was no statistical-ly significant difference in the incidence of bleeding and arterial embolism between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The community management model can improve the symptoms,cardiac function,use rate of anticoagulant drugs,and medication adherence of elderly NVAF patients,and enhance their quality of life.

Objective To discuss the effect of interleukin-17A(IL-17A)and transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1)on the benign tracheal stenosis after tracheal injury in experimental dogs.Methods The trachea stenosis model of healthy Beagle dogs was established by burning the middle part of trachea with electric snare under bronchoscopy guidance.A total of 21 dogs were divided into normal group(n=3,receiving normal feeding),molding group(n=12,after airway modeling every 3 dogs were sacrificed each week for 4 weeks),IL-17A suppression group(n=3,receiving Secukinumab after airway modeling),and IL-17A inhibitor+TGF-β1 inhibitor group(n=3,receiving Secukinumab and SB43154 after airway modeling).Bronchoscopy and CT scan were performed once a week,and the stenosis degree was calculated.RT-qPCR,immunohistochemistry,and HE staining of the obtained tracheal tissues were performed.Results Within 1-4 weeks after molding,in module-making dogs the degree of stenosis of the injured trachea gradually increased,and the expressions of ECM-related proteins,TGF-β1 and IL-17A were up-regulated.After treatment with IL-17A inhibitors,the inflammatory infiltration and granulation tissue hyperplasia were reduced and the early tracheal stenosis was improved(P＜0.05).The combination use of IL-17A inhibitor and TGF-β1 inhibitor had a better remission effect(P＜0.05).Conclusion IL-17A and TGF-β1 may synergistically affect the formation of tracheal stenosis.

BACKGROUND:Repetitive magnetic stimulation of either S3 nerve root or M1 area can improve the urination function of patients with urinary retention after spinal cord injury,but there are few reports on the repetitive magnetic stimulation of both sites in patients with urinary retention after spinal cord injury. OBJECTIVE:To observe the effect of repetitive magnetic stimulation of both S3 nerve root and M1 area on urinary retention after spinal cord injury. METHODS:Forty patients with urinary retention after spinal cord injury were enrolled and were randomly divided into two groups(n=20 per group):group A(repetitive magnetic stimulation in both S3 nerve root and M1 area)and group B(repetitive magnetic stimulation in the S3 nerve root and sham stimulation in the M1 area).Patients in both groups were given 4-week repetitive magnetic stimulation based on conventional bladder function intervention.The stimulation time and duration of treatment were same in both groups,with a treatment time of 21 minutes daily,5 days per week,for 4 weeks in total.The urination diary and urodynamics were compared between two groups. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Before treatment,there were no statistically significant differences in the average daily catheterization times,average daily catheterization volume,average single urinary volume,urinary storage period(maximum bladder volume,bladder pressure),and urinary voiding period(detrusor pressure,residual urine volume)between the two groups(P>0.05).After 4 weeks of treatment,the average daily catheterization times in group A were lower than before treatment(P<0.05),while the average single urination volume in group A was higher than that before treatment(P<0.05);and the average daily catheterization times in group B were lower than before treatment(P<0.05).After 4 weeks of treatment,the average daily catheterization times in group A were lower than those in group B,and the average single urination volume was higher than that in group B(P<0.05).After 4 weeks of treatment,the maximum bladder volume and detrusor pressure during urination were increased in both groups compared with before treatment(P<0.05),while the bladder pressure and residual urine volume at the maximum volume of the two groups were decreased compared with those before treatment(P<0.05).Compared with group B,the maximum bladder volume and detrusor pressure during urination were higher in group A,while the bladder pressure and residual urine volume at maximum volume were lower in group A(P<0.05).To conclude,two treatments can both improve the urination function of patients with urinary retention after spinal cord injury,and repetitive magnetic stimulation of both S3 nerve root and M1 area is superior to repetitive magnetic stimulation of S3 nerve root alone.Repetitive magnetic stimulation of both S3 nerve root and M1 area can effectively improve the urination function of patients with urinary retention after spinal cord injury.

Objective: To explore the relationship between isochronous substitution and BMI, waist circumference (WC), and body fat rate (FAT) among physical activity (PA), sedentary (SB), and sleep (SLP), so as to provide effective measures for obesity control in adolescents. Methods: A total of 193 adolescents aged 12-15 (90 males and 103 females) was randomly selected, and their height, weight, and BMI were measured using routine testing methods from May to August 2022. The PA, SB and SLP of the participants were measured using a 3D accelerometer (ActiGraph GT3X+). Results: The arithmetic mean value overestimated SLP (40.8%) and SB (39.6%) to some extent, and underestimated LPA (16.1%) and MVPA (3.5%) to some extent. Based on the ISM at 15 min, MVPA was substituted for other activity, BMI Z decreased by 0.17-0.22 units, WC Z decreased by 0.16-0.20 units, and FAT Z decreased by 0.17-0.22 units. The substitution between MVPA and for other activity exhibited significant asymmetry. The effects of MVPA substitutions for SB was the largest, followed by the effects of MVPA substitutions for SLP, and the effects of MVPA substitutions for LPA was the lowest. As MVPA substitutions for other behaviors, it reached its maximum (0.06-0.08 units ) when the MVPA time increased by 5 minutes. Conclusions MVPA plays an irreplaceable role in the control of adolescent obesity . While reducing SB time, MVPA duration should be increased to ensure that the daily MVPA duration is not less than 55 minutes in order to effectively control obesity.

【Objective】 To determine molecular basis of a rare HLA-A typing results carrying triple A alleles in potential allo-HSCT donor and her family. 【Methods】 HLA-A, -B, -C, -DRB1, -DQB1, -E, -F, -G of 5 members in the family were genotyped at a high-resolution level using next-generation sequencing (NGS). HLA-A of probosita was re-checked using polymerase chain reaction-sequence-based typing (PCR-SBT), and SNP oligonucleotide probes (SNP-array)were scanned with genomic DNA of probosita. 【Results】 There was 162.9Kb duplication in 6p22.1(29, 803, 377-29, 966, 301)of probosita who carried triple A alleles A^*02∶01∶01, A^*11∶01∶01, A^*24∶02∶01. Other two family members were found to carry this haplotype: A^*02∶01∶01, A^*24∶02∶01, B^*54∶01∶01, C^*01∶02∶01, DRB1^*04∶05∶01, DQB1^*04∶01∶01, E^*01∶01∶01∶03, F^*01∶01∶01, G^*01∶01∶01∶01, which as a Mendelian gene was segregated and stably transmitted through two generations. 【Conclusion】 Tiny gene duplication induces one haplotype carries two HLA-A alleles in a potential healthy donor for allo-transplantaion and stably transmits through two generations.Routine HLA typing laboratories should pay more attention to this situation and accurately report.

Objective:To investigate the therapeutic effect of comprehensive geriatric assessment(CGA) in elderly patients with chronic heart failure(CHF) complicated with sarcopenia, and to provide a theoretical reference for clinical application.Methods:This study was a prospective randomized controlled study. 110 elderly CHF patients with myopenia admitted to the Third People's Hospital of Hefei from January 2019 to February 2022 were selected. Using the random number table method, 56 cases were divided into an observation group and 54 cases into a control group. Before treatment, the control group of patients underwent a selective single assessment based on the hospital's requirements and the patient's actual situation, including a fall risk assessment, nutritional risk screening checklist assessment, and routine medication to improve cardiac function and prognosis; Before treatment, the patients in the observation group were assessed with CGA, including the assessment of physical function, mental and psychological status, multiple drug management, pain, Sleep disorder, and social environment. According to the assessment results, individual diagnosis and treatment plans were formulated, implemented, and dynamically adjusted. The two groups were treated for 12 weeks. The general information, treatment compliance, B-type brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) level, left ventricular Ejection fraction (LVEF), 6 min walking distance (6MWD), arm strength of upper limbs and 6 m walking speed, clinical efficacy and prognosis of the two groups were compared before and after treatment. The measurement data is represented by xˉ± s, group t-tests are used for inter group comparison, and paired t-tests are used for intra group comparison before and after treatment; Counting data is represented as an example (%), and inter group comparisons are made using χ 2 test, non parametric rank sum test was used for inter group comparison of hierarchical data. Results:There was no statistically significant difference in gender, age, course of CHF, smoking, alcohol consumption, number of comorbidities, cardiac function grading, and treatment compliance between the two groups of patients (all P>0.05), indicating comparability. Before treatment, there was no statistically significant difference in plasma BNP, LVEF, 6MWD, upper limb grip strength, and 6-meter walking speed between the two groups of patients (all P>0.05); After treatment, the BNP of both groups of patients was lower than before treatment and the observation group was lower than the control group. LVEF, 6MWD, upper limb grip strength, and 6-meter walking speed were all higher than before treatment and the observation group was higher than the control group [(343.45±34.95) ng/L vs (387.09±46.96) ng/L, (49.61±7.11)% vs (42.94±5.72)%, (348.92±37.73) m vs (297.74±43.48) m, (22.64±3.82) kg vs (19.48±3.88) kg, (0.97±0.10) m/s vs (0.83±0.12) m/s], The differences were statistically significant ( t-values were 5.51, -5.40, -6.60, -4.31, -6.60, all P<0.001). After 12 weeks of treatment, there was no statistically significant difference in clinical efficacy between the two groups of patients ( P=0.216), but the overall poor prognosis rate in the follow-up observation group was lower than that in the control group [7.14%(4/56) vs 22.22% (12/54)], and the difference was statistically significant (χ 2=5.03, P=0.025). Conclusions:Developing, implementing, and dynamically adjusting the individualized treatment plan involving CGA can improve the prognosis of elderly CHF patients with sarcopenia, help improve cardiac function, increase grip strength and somatic function, and reduce the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events ,all-cause mortality in elderly patients with CHF combined with sarcopeni and has certain clinical application value.

Objective: An isochronous substitution model was established to explore the association and substitution effect between college students 24 hour activity behavior and physical health, so as to provide specific activity behavior suggestions for college students to improve their physical health. Methods: A stratified random cluster sampling method was used to conduct physical fitness tests and 24 hour activity behavior surveys among 2 794 college students in 12 colleges and universities in Tianjin.Time spent on sedentary behavior(SB), light intensity physical activity(LPA), moderate to vigorous physical activity(MVPA) and sleep(SLP) time. The isochronous method of components was used to explore the relationship between 24 h activity behavior and physical health. Results: Except for 50 m running, MVPA was negatively correlated with BMI Z ( β =-0.62, P <0.05), but positively correlated with other physical fitness indexes ( β =0.34~274.23, P <0.05). LPA was not associated with lung capacity, sitting forward flexion and 50 m running, and negatively correlated with other physical fitness indexes ( β =-14.30- -0.19, P <0.05). SB was negatively correlated with most physical fitness indexes ( β =-11.57- -0.33, P <0.05), but positively correlated with BMI Z ( β =0.45, P < 0.05 ). In addition to lung capacity, SLP was positively correlated with BMI Z , total physical fitness score,1 minute sit-ups, pull ups, 800/1 000 m running, sitting forward flexion, and 50 m running ( β =0.27-11.21, P <0.05), but negatively correlated with long jump ( β =-0.10, P <0.05）. Isochronous substitution showed that the adverse effects of 30 min/d SB and LPA substitution of MVPA were much greater than the beneficial effects of MVPA substitution for corresponding behaviors (total physical score: SB, -0.58 vs 0.47 points; LPA, -0.50 vs 0.38 points). Conclusion MVPA and SLP have been found to have a positive effect on physical fitness among college students. Therefore, in the process of improving the physical health of college students, ensuring adequate sleep, improving MVPA and reducing SB as much as possible may be one of the effective methods.
