Objective To observe the feasibility of Fourier ring correlation(FRC)for measuring the overall resolution of ultrasonic microvascular images.Methods Liver contrast-enhanced ultrasound(CEUS)images of 1 patient with suspected hepatic hemangioma(dataset 1)were processed with singular value decomposition(SVD)filter(dataset 2)and Frangi filter(dataset 3),respectively.Three ROI were selected on CEUS image in each dataset,and the signal-intensity curves were drawn,and local resolution of CEUS image in each dataset was measured using full width at half maxima(FWHM)method.Then the above datasets were divided into odd frame subset and even frame subset,respectively,which were converted into frequency domain using fast Fourier transform.FRC curves were generated to calculate the overall resolution of each kind images.Results The signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)of CEUS images in dataset 1,2,3 was(19.94±2.33),(30.36±0.78)and(69.52±16.38)dB,respectively,the local resolution was(4.07±9.82),(1.53±0.04)and(1.27±0.06)mm,both successively increased(all P＜0.05).The overall resolution of CEUS images in dataset 1,2,3 was 2.07,0.91 and 0.51 mm,respectively.Conclusion FRC was feasible for measuring the overall resolution of ultrasonic microvascular images.

Objective To observe the effect of extracting different speed contrast-enhanced ultrasound(CEUS)signals using singular value decomposition filtering and implementing fused imaging for improving visualization of microvascular structures.Methods Singular value decomposition and filtering were performed on 200 frames of mouse subcutaneous tumor and 250 frames of human liver CEUS image datasets.The singular value inflection point was used as the threshold for separating low-speed and high-speed contrast signals by exponential projection of singular values on the singular value sequence.The low-speed and high-speed signals in dataset were extracted,and dual-modal fusion imaging was performed on the processed images.The image resolution differences of ultrasound microvascular imaging regions with different flow velocities were evaluated.Results The high-speed blood flow images processed by the high singular value sequence range retained the fast-moving contrast signals which mainly showed the thicker blood vessel structures,while the low-speed blood flow images processed by the low singular value sequence range retained the low-speed moving contrast signals which reflected the microvascular structures on high singular value images.The fusion imaging displayed microvascular network more completely.Conclusion Appropriate selection of singular value range was crucial to optimization of CEUS images using singular value decomposition filtering.Fusion imaging was beneficial to improving visualization of microvascular structures.

According to the global cancer statistics in 2022 updated by the International Agency for Research on Cancer(IARC),there were nearly 20 million new cases of cancer and 9.7 million deaths.Lung cancer was the most commonly diagnosed cancer,accounting for nearly 2.5 million new cases(12.4%of all global cancers),followed by female breast cancer(11.6%),colorectal cancer(9.6%),prostate cancer(7.3%),and stomach cancer(4.9%).Lung cancer was also the leading cause of cancer deaths,with an estimated 1.8 million deaths(18.7%),followed by colorectal cancer(9.3%),liver cancer(7.8%),female breast cancer(6.9%),and stomach cancer(6.8%).Population-based projections suggest that the number of new cancer cases will reach 35 million by 2050.Increasing the investment in prevention and control measures targeting key cancer risk factors,including smoking,obesity,and infections,could save many lives globally and bring significant economic and social returns to countries in the coming decades.

Objective To study the correlation between carotid bifurcation geometry and atherosclerotic plaque vulnerability using high-resolution magnetic resonance vessel wall imaging(HRMR-VWI),and to seek the potential predictor for vulnerable plaque for-mation.Methods The clinical information and imaging data of 104 patients with carotid bifurcation plaque detected by HRMR-VWI were analyzed retrospectively.Carotid bifurcation geometric parameters was measured to determine whether the carotid bifurcation plaque was vulnerable plaque,and they were divided into vulnerable plaque group(69 cases)and stable plaque group(35 cases).The difference of carotid bifurcation geometry of various groups was investigated,and the influence of common traditional risk factors to obtain independent risk factors was adjusted.Receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was drawn.Results Among 104 carotid artery,vulnerable plaque group had larger bifurcation angle(54.00 vs 48.80,P＜0.001),less luminal expansion(1.76 vs 1.94,P=0.002)and less outflow/inflow area ratio(0.79 vs 0.88,P＜0.001)compared with stable plaque group.After adjusting,binary logistic regres-sion indicated that bifurcation angle[odds ratio(OR)1.132 per 10° increase;95％confidence interval(CI)1.044-1.225],luminal expan-sion(OR 0.084 per 1 increase;95％CI 0.014-0.492)and outflow/inflow area ratio(OR 0.357 per 0.01 increase;95％CI 0.177-0.723)were independent risk factors of vulnerable plaque formation.Bringing them into the final model,the area under the curve(AUC)was 0.878 above the basic model(AUC=0.664).Conclusion Bifur-cation angle,luminal expansion and outflow/inflow area ratio are independently associated with vulnerable plaque formation.Carotid bifurcation geometry have the certain predictive efficiency of vulnerable plaque formation and have the incremental diagnostic value to traditional risk factors,which are expected to be effective imaging makers for the formation of vulnerable plaque.

Ferroptosis is a new type of programmed cell death that is closely associated with the pathophysiological process of ischemic stroke. Ferroptosis inhibitors can improve neurological function and provide neuroprotection after cerebral ischemia. Therefore, the role of ferroptosis in ischemic stroke and the regulation of ferroptosis to intervene in the occurrence and development of ischemic stroke have become a research hotspot. This article reviews the molecular mechanism and potential therapeutic targets of ferroptosis during ischemic stroke, hoping to provide new perspectives for the treatment of ischemic stroke.

Objective:To investigate the effects of microwave radiation on associative learning and memory function and hippocampal structure of mice.Methods:C57BL/6N mice were ramdomly divided into sham-radiated group ( n=27) and radiation group ( n=2). The radiation group was exposed to microwave at 2.856 GHz, 8 mW/cm 2 for 15 min, then their spatial and associative learning and memory function were examined with the morris water maze and shuttle box behavior experiment. The pathological changes of hippocampal tissue were observed by HE staining and light microscope, the ultrastructural changes of hippocampal tissue were observed by transmission electron microscope. Results:After microwave radiation, the times of mice crossing the platform for the reverse space exploration decreased from(3.60±0.79) times to (2.55±0.47) times( t=2.21, P=0.046), the average active escape rate decreased significantly ( t = 2.70, P<0.05), and the average active latency and the total shock time was significantly prolonged ( t = -3.09, -3.02, P < 0.05). At 8 d after microwave radiation, the nuclei of some neurons in the CA3 and DG regions of the hippocampus were pyknosis. The neurons were apoptotic, the synaptic spaces blurred, the glial cells swollen, and the perivascular spaces widened in the CA3 region of the hippocampus. Conclusions:Microwave radiation can decline the spatial reference memory ability and associative learning and memory ability of mice. The morphological and pathological changes of hippocampus are the structural basis of this dysfunction.

Objective:To analyze the number of appeals volume and causes for complaints received by the government hotline against a hospital in Yangzhou during the pandemic of novel coronavirus pneumonia(hereinafter referred to as COVID-19), so as to provide reference for handling such hotline complaints during pandemics.Methods:Retrospective comparative analysis was made on the " 12345" government hotline work orders received from July 28, 2020 to August 28, 2020(routine prevention and control period) and July 28, 2021 to August 28, 2021(pandemic closure and control period). A descriptive analysis was made on the cause types of complaints and the distribution of departments in question, along with an analysis of the correlation between the cumulative number of cases of pandemic development and the number of complaints using Spearman rank correlation method.Results:The number of work orders for a hospital in Yangzhou during the pandemic control period(659 cases) was 7.7 times higher than that in the routine control period(76 cases). Management problems accounted for 96.7%(637 cases) in the level-1 type of the causes of complaints during the closure and control period of the pandemic, and workflow problems accounted for 90.9%(599 cases) in the level-2 type, which increased by 28.3 and 27.7 percentage points respectively compared with the routine prevention and control period; The highest proportion in the level-3 type of causes for complaints during the closure and control period of the pandemic was administrative management, accounting for 87.9%(579 cases). The departments being complained the most during the pandemic incubation period, outbreak period and recovery period of the pandemic were the fever clinic, oncology department and discharge center respectively. The cumulative number of cases of pandemic development was positively correlated with the number of complaints.Conclusions:During the COVID-19, the handling of the government hotline should be analyzed along with the causes of complaints, focusing on patients′ demands, providing timely feedback, developing collaborative management measures, and achieving accurate policy implementation.

Objective:To investigate the effects and the mechanism of Calcyclin-binding protein (CacyBP) on the proliferation and invasion of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cells.Methods:Six lung cancer tissues and paired normal lung tissues were collected from NSCLC patients who underwent surgical treatment in Jinan Central Hospital during 2016. The expression of CacyBP in these tissues was examined by western blot. The protein and mRNA expression of CacyBP in human bronchial epithelial cells (16HBE), NSCLC cell lines including A549, H1299, H460 and H1975 were examined by western blot and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), respectively. RNAi and shRNA against negative control (NC) or CacyBP were transfected into A549 cell which were denoted as siNC group, siCacyBP-1 group, sicacyBP-2 group, shNC group and shCacyBP group, respectively. Control and Flag-CacyBP plasmids were transfected into A549 cells which were denoted as NC group and Flag-CacyBP group, respectively. Cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8), plate clone formation assay and flow cytometry assay were used to assess cell proliferation ability and cycle of A549. Wound healing assay and transwell assay were used to assess abilities of A549 cells migration and invasion. The protein expressions of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) markers including E-cadherin, N-cadherin, Snail1, Vimentin, and phosphorylation of protein kinase B (p-Akt) were examined in CacyBP depleted or overexpressed A549 cells.Results:The CacyBP protein level in NSCLC tissues was 0.41±0.23, significantly higher than 0.11±0.04 in normal lung tissues ( P<0.05). The CacyBP protein expression levels in different NSCLC cell lines including A549, H1299, H460 and H1975 were 0.35±0.01, 0.38±0.01, 0.32±0.01 and 0.41±0.01, respectively, which were significantly higher than 0.03±0.01 in 16HBE cells ( P<0.05). The result of RT-PCR was consistent with that of western blot. Compared with siNC group (absorbance was 1.54±0.03), siCacyBP-1 group and siCacyBP-2 group showed decreased cell proliferation (absorbances were 1.38±0.04 and 1.34±0.03, P<0.05). The number of cell colony in shNC group was 41.33±3.21, significantly higher than 22.00±3.61 in shCacyBP group ( P<0.05). The proportion of G 1 phase in shCacyBP group was (61.35±5.45)%, higher than (49.61±1.54) % in shNC group ( P<0.05). The proportion of S phase was (25.41±3.21)%, which was lower than (38.68±0.46)% of shNC group ( P<0.05). The cell migration rate of shCacyBP group was (12.67±0.71)%, which was significantly lower than (35.50±2.07)% of shNC group ( P<0.05). The numbers of cell migration and invasion in shNC group were 406.33±7.37 and 92.33±8.50, respectively, which were significantly higher than 224.67±10.01 and 66.00±7.94 in shCacyBP group ( P<0.05). Compared with siNC group, the expression of epithelial marker E-cadherin was up-regulated, while the expressions of mesenchymal markers including N-cadherin, Vimentin, Snail1 and p-Akt were down-regulated in CacyBP depleted A549 cells. Compared with NC group, overexpression of CacyBP inhibited E-cadherin expression while promoted the expressions of N-cadherin, Snail1, Vimentin and p-Akt, which could be restored by LY294002. Conclusion:CacyBP may promote the proliferation and invasion of NSCLC cells by regulating Akt signal pathway.

Background: Bovine papilloma is a neoplastic disease caused by bovine papillomaviruses (BPVs), which were recently divided into 5 genera and at least 24 genotypes. Objectives: The complete genome sequence of BPV type 15 (BPV Aks-02), a novel putative BPV type from skin samples from infected cows in Southern Xinjiang China, was determined by collecting warty lesions, followed by DNA extraction and amplicon sequencing. Methods: DNA was analyzed initially by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) using the degenerate primers FAP59 and FAP64. The complete genome sequences of the BPV Aks-02 were amplified by PCR using the amplification primers and sequencing primers. Sequence analysis and phylogenetic analysis were performed using bio-informatic software. Results: The nucleotide sequence of the L1 open reading frame (ORF) of BPV Aks-02 was 75% identity to the L1 ORF of BPV-9 reference strain from GenBank. The complete genome consisted of 7,189 base pairs (G + C content of 42.50%) that encoded 5 early (E8, E7, E1, E2, and E4) and 2 late (L1 and L2) genes. The E7 protein contained a consensus CX2CX29CX 2 C zinc-binding domain and a LxCxE motif. Among the different members of this group, the percentages of the complete genome and ORFs (including 5 early and 2 late ORFs) sequence identity of BPV Aks-02 were closer to the genus Xipapillomavirus 1 of the Xipapillomavirus genus.Phylogenetic analysis and sequence similarities based on the L1 ORF of BPV Aks-02 revealed the same cluster. Conclusions The results suggest that BPV type (BPV Aks-02) clustered with members of the Xipapillomavirus genus as BPV 15 and were closely related to Xipapillomavirus 1.
