ObjectiveTo evaluate the efficacy of Sanhua essential oil inhalation as aromatherapy in patients with breast cancer-related depression.MethodsIn total, 144 patients with breast cancer-related depression who underwent postoperative chemotherapy were recruited. The participants in the control group (n = 52) were offered a placebo (sunflower oil) daily, whereas those in the essential oil group (n = 52) were administered Sanhua essential oil. This study evaluated depression improvement, Hamilton Depression Scale score, scores of symptoms in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), Pittsburgh Sleepiness Quotient Index score, incidence of nausea and vomiting, and signal changes on functional magnetic resonance imaging.ResultsDepression improved by 48.1% and 21.2% in the essential oil and control groups, respectively (P = .010). The Hamilton Depression Scale score (P = .017), scores for symptoms in TCM (P = .002), and the incidence of nausea and vomiting in the acute and delayed phases were lower in the essential oil group than in the control group (nausea in the acute phase, P = .017; nausea in the delayed phase, P = .039; vomiting in the acute phase, P = .008; vomiting in the delayed phase, P = .081). The Pittsburgh Sleepiness Quotient Index score was lower in the essential oil group than in the control group (P = .005). Significant differences existed between the two groups in the left superior parietal gyrus, right precuneus, left dorsolateral superior frontal gyrus, and right precentral gyrus according to functional connectivity on functional magnetic resonance imaging.ConclusionInhalation of Sanhua essential oil alleviated depression in patients undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer, improved sleep quality, relieved TCM symptoms, reduced nausea and vomiting, and regulated activities in the brain regions.

Objective To investigate the expression of Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) and CD80 in unexplained recurrent spontaneous abortion and their relationship, discuss its possible roles in guiding eugenics, and provide a new idea for clinical diagnosis and prevention. Methods The study group were 60 cases with unexplained recurrent spontaneous abortion patients. The control group included 30 cases of normal early pregnancy without previous history of adverse pregnancy. The expressions of TLR4 and CD80 were detected with immunohistochemistry in the peripheral blood, chorion, and decidua from each case. Results TLR4 had higher expression in the peripheral blood, the chorion and decidua from the recurrent spontaneous abortion women than that from normal pregnancy women (P < 0.05).Levels of CD80 were significantly higher in recurrent spontaneous abortion group than in normal pregnancy group (P < 0.05).There was a positive correlation between TLR4 and CD80 (r =0.982,0.986,and 0.776,P <0.01).Conclusions The study shows that TLR4 and CD80 were expressed in peripheral blood lymphocytes and villi and decidua of early pregnancy (normal pregnancy or abnormal pregnancy).Higher expressions of TLR4 and CD80 might play an important role in the occurrence of recurrent spontaneous abortion.

Objective To discuss the nursing countermeasures of common problems in patients with spinal fracture. Methods All patients received evidence- based nursing in on:ler to tackle problems such as pain, paralysis, pulmonary infection, pressure ulcer, urinary tract infection and deep vein thrombosis. Results No one complicated with pulmonary infection, pressure ulcer and deep vein thrombosis, 2 with lower limb swelling and 3 with urinary tract infection. Conclusions Evidence- based nursing is the base of clinic nursing. It can not only improve the quality of nursing and benefit patients, but also can expand the nurses' knowledge.

[Objective]To evaluate the clinical result after treatment on fracture of distal radius with different fixations of the wood splint/plaster splint/"T" model plate.[Method]There were 236 cases with the fracture of distal radius, there were divided three types of A,B,C according to the AO classification,70 cases in 236 cases were treated with close diaplasis and external wood splint fixation,55 in 236 cases with external plaster splint fixation,III in 236 cases with operation and internal "T" model plate fixation. Results were evaluated by replacement and function after treatment, and percentage of excellence was compared with three different fixation.[Result]236 cases were all followed-up,mean follow-up period was 14.6 months(6~20months).The excellence rate of diaplasis was not significantly different in A and B type by comparing three different fixation, the excellence rate of function with wood splint fixation and "T" type plate internal fixation was better than that of plaster splint fixation in A and B type, there were not significantly difference about the excellence rate of function with the external wood splint fixation and the internal "T" model plate fixation. The excellence rate of function and reduction with"T" type plate internal fixation were better than with plaster splint and wood splint in C type.[Conclusion]The author suggests open reduction with "T" type plate internal fixation about C type fracture, close reduction and external wood splint fixation about A and B type distal radius fracture.
