AIM:To investigate the current status and influencing factors of knowledge-attitude-practice in myopia prevention and control among children and adolescents in Ningbo City, thereby providing a scientific basis for formulating targeted prevention strategies.METHODS: Children and adolescents aged 6-12 years old were selected from the medical-school collaborative myopia prevention network in Ningbo City between August 2024 and May 2025 using stratified cluster sampling. Information on myopia prevention knowledge(15 items)and practice(9 items)was collected through questionnaire surveys. Logistic regression models were used to analyze factors influencing myopia occurrence in children and adolescents.RESULTS: A total of 664 children and adolescents aged 6-12 years were enrolled in this study. Participants were divided by age into three groups: 6-7 years old(n=221), 8-9 years old(n=221), and 10-12 years old(n=222). Of the 664 questionnaires distributed, 637 valid questionnaires were returned(201 from the 6-7 age group, 235 from the 8-9 age group, and 201 from the 10-12 age group), yielding an effective response rate of 95.9%. Based on myopia screening results, the non-myopic group comprised 203 participants(31.9%), including 100 males and 103 females, with a mean age of 8.82±1.98 years old. The myopic group comprised 434 participants(68.1%), including 213 males and 221 females, with a mean age of 9.10±1.95 years old. The myopia prevalence rates in the 6-7, 8-9, and 10-12 age groups were 37.8%(76/201), 71.9%(169/235), and 94.0%(189/201), respectively(P<0.001). Regarding the knowledge and practice of myopia prevention, the overall awareness rate in the non-myopic group(59.7%±9.7%)was significantly higher than that in the myopic group(48.7%±8.5%; P<0.001). Additionally, the non-myopic group scored higher on the key practice of “regular eye examinations”(4.27±0.96)compared to the myopic group(4.10±1.05; P<0.05). Logistic regression analysis indicated that age was the primary risk factor for myopia occurrence.CONCLUSION: Age is the dominant factor in the onset of myopia, and there is a phenomenon of “knowledge-practice gap”; the traditional health education model has limitations, and a precise prevention and control system based on developmental patterns should be established.

Background: Murraya, a genus of shrubs and trees in the Rutaceae family, consists of approximately 9 species in China with significant medicinal and horticultural value. However, the phylogeny and taxonomy of Murraya species remain controversial, particularly with respect to Murraya exotica and M. paniculata. Objective: This study aimed to provide insights into the taxonomy, phylogeny, and identification of Murraya. Methods: In this study, the chloroplast (CP) genomes of 7 Murraya species were sequenced, assembled, and subjected to comparative and phylogenetic analyses. Results: The CP genomes of Murraya ranged from 158,573 to 160,817 bp in length and encoded 112 unique genes, including 78 protein-coding genes, 30 tRNA genes, and 4 rRNA genes. Similar to other angiosperms, the inverted repeat regions of the CP genomes exhibited lower sequence divergence than the single-copy regions, and coding regions were more conserved than noncoding regions. Comparative analysis identified several highly variable regions (eg, matK, ycf1, ndhI-ndhA, trnH-GUG-psbA, rpl32-trnL) that could serve as molecular markers for species identification in Murraya. Among these, the ycf1 gene was validated as a useful marker for distinguishing M. exotica from M. paniculata. Positive selection was detected in 10 genes, including rbcL, psaJ, ndhD, ndhF, rpl2, rpl20, ycf1, accD, ccsA, and rpl32. Phylogenetic analysis based on CP genomes supported the recognition of M. exotica and M. paniculata as independent species. Moreover, the phylogenetic trees indicated that Murraya is not monophyletic, with sect. Bergera showing a closer relationship to Clausena. Molecular dating results suggested that the diversification of M. paniculata, M. alata, and M. exotica occurred approximately 9.11 Mya (95% highest posterior density: 4.90-13.87 Mya). Conclusion: These findings provide valuable CP genome data for clarifying the phylogenetic relationships between M. exotica and M. paniculata, and for advancing the study of DNA markers and the evolutionary history of Murraya.

BACKGROUND:Cervical disc herniation can cause pain in the neck and shoulder area,as well as radiating pain in the upper limbs.The incidence rate is increasing year by year and tends to affect younger individuals.Fully understanding the biomechanical characteristics of the cervical spine in adolescents is of great significance for preventing and delaying the onset of cervical disc herniation in this age group. OBJECTIVE:To reconstruct cervical spine models for both healthy adolescents and adolescent patients with cervical disc herniation utilizing finite element analysis techniques,to analyze the motion range of the C1-T1 cervical vertebrae as well as the biomechanical characteristics of the annulus fibrosus,nucleus pulposus,endplates,and the cartilage of the small joints. METHODS:A normal adolescent's cervical spine and an adolescent patient with cervical disc herniation were selected in this study.The continuous scan cervical spine CT raw image data were imported into Mimics 21.0 in DICOM format.The C1-T1 vertebrae were reconstructed separately.Subsequently,the established models were imported into the 3-Matic software for disc reconstruction.The perfected models were then imported into Hypermesh software for meshing of the vertebrae,nucleus pulposus,annulus fibrosus,and ligaments,creating valid geometric models.After assigning material properties,the final models were imported into ABAQUS software to observe the joint motion range of the C1-C7 cervical vertebrae segments under different conditions,and to analyze the biomechanical characteristics of the annulus fibrosus,nucleus pulposus,endplates,and small joint cartilage of each cervical spine segment. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)In six different conditions,the joint motion range of the C1 vertebra in the cervical spine models of both normal adolescent and adolescent patient with cervical disc herniation was higher than that of the other vertebrae.Additionally,the joint motion range of each cervical spine segment in normal adolescent was greater than that in adolescent patient with cervical disc herniation.(2)In the cervical spine model of normal adolescent,the maximum stress values in the annulus fibrosus and nucleus pulposus were found on the left side during C2-3 flexion conditions(0.43 MPa and 0.17 MPa,respectively).In the cervical spine model of adolescent patient with cervical disc herniation,the maximum stress values were found on the left side during C7-T1 flexion conditions(0.54 MPa and 0.18 MPa,respectively).(3)In the cervical spine model of normal adolescent,the maximum stress value on the endplate was found on the left side of the upper endplate of C3 during flexion conditions(1.46 MPa).In the model of adolescent patient with cervical disc herniation,the maximum stress value on the endplate was found on the left side of the lower endplate of C7 during flexion conditions(1.32 MPa).(4)In the cervical spine model of normal adolescent,the maximum stress value in the small joint cartilage was found in the C2-3 left rotation conditions(0.98 MPa).In adolescent patient with cervical disc herniation,the stress in the small joint cartilage significantly increased under different conditions,especially in C1-2,with the maximum stress found during left flexion(3.50 MPa).(5)It is concluded that compared to normal adolescent,adolescent patient with cervical disc herniation exhibits altered cervical curvature and a decrease in overall joint motion range in the cervical spine.In adolescent with cervical disc herniation,there is a significant increase in stress on the annulus fibrosus,nucleus pulposus,and endplates in the C7-T1 segment.The stress on the left articular cartilage of the C1-2 is notable.Abnormal cervical curvature may be the primary factor causing these stress changes.

BACKGROUND:Mesenchymal stem cells can regulate the tumor microenvironment by secreting extracellular vesicles containing cytokines,growth factors and exosomes for the precise regulation of biological behavior of tumor cells. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effects of human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cell conditioned medium and their released exosomes on the biological properties of hepatocellular carcinoma cells. METHODS:Human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell supernatant was collected,centrifuged and filtered at high speed to obtain human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell conditioned medium.Human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell supernatant was collected and human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell exosomes were extracted by ultra-high speed gradient centrifugation.Human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell exosomes were labeled with PKH26 and co-cultured with hepatocellular carcinoma cell MHCC97-H.The uptake of exosomes by MHCC97-H cells was observed by fluorescence microscopy.The effects of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell conditioned medium and human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell exosomes on biological functions of hepatocellular carcinoma cells were assessed by the CCK-8 proliferation assay,Transwell migration and invasion assay,and the apoptosis assay. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)Human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell exosomes could be uptaken by MHCC97-H cells and was mainly distributed in the cytoplasm.(2)After treatment with human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell conditioned medium,MHCC97-H cells showed a significant increase in proliferation,migration,and invasion(P<0.001,P<0.05,P<0.01),and a significant decrease in apoptosis(P<0.001),while after treatment with human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell exosomes,MHCC97-H cells showed a decrease in proliferation(P<0.001)and migration,invasion,and apoptosis were significantly enhanced(P<0.001).(3)The results indicated that human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell conditioned medium had the ability to promote the proliferation,migration,invasion,and inhibit apoptosis of MHCC97-H cells,while human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell exosomes had the properties of promoting the migration,invasion and apoptosis of MHCC97-H cells,inhibiting the proliferation.

BACKGROUND:In the initial stage of growth plate injury inflammation,platelet-derived growth factor BB promotes the repair of growth plate injury by promoting mesenchymal progenitor cell infiltration,chondrogenesis,osteogenic response,and regulating bone remodeling. OBJECTIVE:To elucidate the action mechanism of platelet-derived growth factor BB after growth plate injury. METHODS:PubMed,VIP,WanFang,and CNKI databases were used as the literature sources.The search terms were"growth plate injury,bone bridge,platelet-derived growth factor BB,repair"in English and Chinese.Finally,66 articles were screened for this review. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Growth plate injury experienced early inflammation,vascular reconstruction,fibroossification,structural remodeling and other pathological processes,accompanied by the crosstalk of chondrocytes,vascular endothelial cells,stem cells,osteoblasts,osteoclasts and other cells.Platelet-derived growth factor BB,as an important factor in the early inflammatory response of injury,regulates the injury repair process by mediating a variety of cellular inflammatory responses.Targeting the inflammatory stimulation mediated by platelet-derived growth factor BB may delay the bone bridge formation process by improving the functional activities of osteoclasts,osteoblasts,and chondrocytes,so as to achieve the injury repair of growth plate.Platelet-derived growth factor BB plays an important role in angiogenesis and bone repair tissue formation at the injured site of growth plate and intrachondral bone lengthening function of uninjured growth plate.Inhibition of the coupling effect between angiogenesis initiated by platelet-derived growth factor BB and intrachondral bone formation may achieve the repair of growth plate injury.

Objective:To analyze the predictive value of residual lipoprotein cholesterol (RLP-C) combined with three-dimensional spot tracking (3D-STE) technology for myocardial ischemia in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD).Methods:A total of 158 patients with suspected CHD myocardial ischemia admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi′an Jiaotong University from March 2021 to August 2023 were selected and divided into the observation group (patients with myocardial ischemia) and the control group (patients with non-myocardial ischemia) according to the results of coronary angiography (CAG). The levels of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), and total cholesterol (TC) of the patients were detected by the fully automatic biochemical analyzer, and the level of RLP-C was calculated. The 3D-STE technique was adopted to analyze the global long axis strain (GLS), global circumferential strain (GCS), and global radial strain (GRS) of the left ventricle of the patients. The differences of each index between the two groups were compared, the related influencing factors of myocardial ischemia in patients with CHD were analyzed, and the predictive value of RLP-C combined with 3D-STE technology for myocardial ischemia in patients with CHD was evaluated.Results:CAG revealed 39 patients (24.68%) with myocardial ischemia, with a total of 52 myocardial perfusion abnormalities, including 22 right coronary artery supply areas, 12 left coronary artery circumflex supply areas, and 18 anterior descending branch areas. The levels of cardiac function classification, GCS, GRS, GLS and RLP-C in the observation group were all better than those in the control group (all P<0.05). Binary logistic regression analysis showed that cardiac function classification grade Ⅳ, GCS, GRS, GLS, and RLP-C were the influencing factors of myocardial ischemia in patients with CHD (all P<0.05). Analysis of the receiver operating characteristic curve results showed that the sensitivities of cardiac function classification grade Ⅳ, GCS, GRS, RLP-C, GLS and the combination of the five in predicting myocardial ischemia in patients with CHD were 69.23%, 71.79%, 74.36%, 76.92%, 74.36% and 89.74%, respectively. The specificities were 68.91%, 71.43%, 75.63%, 77.31%, 76.47% and 88.24% respectively. The combined diagnosis of myocardial ischemia in patients with CHD with cardiac function classification grade Ⅳ, GCS, GRS, RLP-C and GLS had a relatively high value (all P<0.05). Conclusions:Cardiac function classification grade Ⅳ, GLS, GCS, GRS, and RLP-C are influencing factors of myocardial ischemia in patients with CHD. Combined detection is helpful to improve the diagnostic accuracy of myocardial ischemia.

Objective This study aims to explore the association between non-suicidal self-injury(NSSI)and suicide attempts(SA)in adolescents and the mediating effect of cognitive flexibility.Methods A total of 218 depression patients with NSSI who met the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders,5th Edition(DSM-5)diagnostic criteria for NSSI were enrolled.Patients were divided into SA group(n=105)and non-SA group(n=113)according to the presence or absence of SA in the last one year.The adolescent non-suicidal self-injury assessment questionnaire(ANSAQ)and the Wisconsin card sorting tests(WCST)was used to assess the frequency of NSSI and cognitive flexibility,respectively.A mediation model was constructed to conduct path analysis,and the product distribution method was utilized to test the mediation effect.Results The difference between SA group and non-SA group in NSSI(20.1±10.7 vs.14.7±9.1)and WCST scores[correct responses percentage(67.3％±14.2％vs.72.9％±12.2％),error responses(39.8±20.3 vs.31.6±17.9),perseverative response(6.7±3.8 vs.5.3±2.9),and non-perseverative errors(37.6±21.0 vs.28.9±18.1)]were significant(P<0.05).Dichotomous logistic regression analysis showed that the frequency of NSSI(OR=1.051,95％CI:1.021-1.082)and the score of perseverative response(OR=1.100,95％CI:1.008-1.199)were significantly associated with suicidal behavior among adolescents with NSSI(P<0.05).Moreover,perseverative response partially mediated the association between NSSI and SA(95％CI of Za×Zb:0.0003-0.0168).Conclusion High NSSI and low cognitive flexibility are risk factors for suicide attempts in NSSI adolescents and NSSI may also affect SA indirectly by lowering cognitive flexibility.

Objective:To investigate the differential impact of ultra-high-resolution photon-counting detector CT (UHR PCD-CT) and energy-integrating detector CT (EID-CT) on image quality and calcified plaque-induced luminal stenosis in coronary CT angiography (CCTA).Methods:This retrospective analysis was conducted on patients who underwent both EID-CT and UHR PCD-CT CCTA at the Geriatric Hospital of Nanjing Medical University between January 2021 and November 2024. A total of 141 patients were included in the study, within 46 patients having scans within a 12-month interval. Image quality of all coronary artery segments was subjectively evaluated. Patients with paired scans (interval≤12 months) were included for calcified plaque analysis. Subjective visualization of calcified plaques evaluated. The blooming artifact was calculated as an objective evaluation index for assessing the calcified plaques. Additionally, the degree of coronary artery lumen stenosis resulting from calcified plaques was assessed, along with the measurement of plaque volume and the Agatston score. Changes in lumen stenosis between the two scans were also evaluated. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used to compare the subjective scores of coronary artery image quality and calcified plaques between the two groups, and paired-sample t-tests were used to compare the blooming artifact and lumen stenosis degree. Results:The PCD-CT image quality score was significantly higher than that of EID-CT [PCD-CT : 5 (4,5), EID-CT: 4 (4,5); Z=-21.38, P<0.001]. Compared to EID-CT, PCD-CT reduced the blooming artifact (PCD-CT: 38.88%±9.09%, EID-CT: 50.11%±11.52%; t=-12.97, P<0.001), significantly improving the subjective score for visualization of calcified plaques [PCD-CT: 5 (4,5), EID-CT: 3 (2,3); Z=-9.68, P<0.001], and the measured lumen stenosis was notably lower in PCD-CT(PCD-CT:34.88%±18.20%, EID-CT:45.31%±23.42%; t=-9.93, P<0.001). Among 129 analyzed calcified plaques, luminal stenosis was reduced on PCD-CT in 110 plaques (85.3%) and increased in 19 (14.7%), including 4 plaques that had unclear boundaries with the adjacent lumen in EID-CT CCTA images, making the stenosis difficult to assess. Conclusion:Compared to EID-CT, UHR PCD-CT for CCTA significantly improves coronary artery image quality, provides clearer visualization of calcified plaques and adjacent lumen details, and it can reduce the overestimation of coronary artery caleified plaque stenosis.

Meniere's disease represents an idiopathic inner ear disorder characterized by endolymphatic hy-drops.Currently,the research methods for identifying genes associated with this disease mainly involve first-genera-tion sequencing and second-generation sequencing.This article reviews research on the genetic study of Meniere's disease,mainly summarizing the candidate genes with repeated pedigree validation in familial Meniere's disease,as well as those frequently reported in sporadic Meniere's disease.

BACKGROUND:The clearance pathway of metabolic waste in the brain is crucial for maintaining neural homeostasis.The accumulation of metabolic waste disrupts this equilibrium,representing a common pathological feature of many central nervous system diseases.In recent years,research focusing on the glymphatic system has emerged as a hotspot in the nervous system field.OBJECTIVE:To construct a knowledge map of glymphatic system research,visually analyze the current state of research,main hotspots,and future development trends within this area.METHODS:Utilizing CiteSpace,VOSviewer,and the Bibliometrix package in the R language environment,this study conducted an in-depth visual analysis of glymphatic system-related literature from the Web of Science Core Collection database,spanning from January 2012 to March 2024.This analysis included authors,institutions,countries,journals,keywords,and co-citation frequencies.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:A total of 687 related articles were included in this study.The number of publications in this field increased year by year,showing an explosive growth trend in the past three years.The countries,institutions,and authors with the largest number of publications in this research field were the United States,University of Rochester,and Professor Maiken Nedergaard.The journal with the highest number of publications was JOURNAL OF CEREBRAL BLOOD FLOW AND METABOLISM.The high-frequent and high-central keywords mainly focused on the mechanism such as cerebrospinal fluid hydrodynamics,neurological diseases such as Alzheimer's disease,and imaging techniques such as diffusion tensor imaging.The literature with the highest co-citation frequency was a classic review of the glymphatic system.The above results show that the research of glymphatic system is an emerging and active field,which has attracted wide attention at home and abroad and gradually expand from theoretical research to clinical practice.
