1.Preoperative nebulized indocyanine green-assisted thoracoscopic anatomical lesion resection for congenital pulmonary airway malformations in children: A retrospective cohort study

Objective To investigate the efficacy of preoperative nebulized indocyanine green (ICG)-assisted thoracoscopic anatomical lesion resection (TALR) in treating pediatric congenital pulmonary airway malformation (CPAM). Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on clinical data of 45 children with CPAM who underwent thoracoscopic surgery at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University between June 2023 and March 2025. The patients were divided into an ICG group (preoperative nebulized ICG 0.5 mg/kg+TALR) and a non-ICG group (TALR under white light), with perioperative and postoperative recovery parameters compared between groups. Results A total of 45 children [22 males, 23 females; median age 7.4 (1.1-75.0) months] were enrolled. The ICG group (n=22) and non-ICG group (n=23) both achieved uneventful recoveries. Compared to the non-ICG group, the ICG group demonstrated significantly shorter surgical duration [91.3 (38.0-144.0) min vs. 100.0 (50.0-175.0) min, P=0.032], reduced intraoperative blood loss [3.0 (2.0-10.0) mL vs. 5.0 (1.0-10.0) mL, P=0.049], shorter postoperative drainage duration [2.7 (1.9-3.9) d vs. 3.4 (1.8-19.9) d, P=0.003], and shortened hospital stay [4.6 (2.9-9.8) d vs. 5.0 (3.9-21.5) d, P=0.013]. Residual lesions occurred in 2 patients from the non-ICG group but none in the ICG group. Intragroup comparisons revealed significant improvements in ratio of time to peak tidal expiratory flow to expiratory time, ratio of volume to peak tidal expiratory flow to expiratory volume, and tidal volume per kilogram after surgery in both groups (P<0.05), though intergroup differences showed no statistical significance (P>0.05). Conclusion Preoperative nebulized ICG administration facilitates lesion identification in CPAM, reduces technical difficulty of TALR, enhances therapeutic outcomes, and provides valuable assistance for performing TALR procedures.

6. Construction and identification of mouse model with conditional knockout of p75 neurotrophin receptor gene in epidermal cells by Cre-loxP system

Objective:
To construct and identify a mouse model with conditional knockout (cKO) of p75 neurotrophin receptor (p75NTR-cKO) gene in epidermis cells by Cre-loxP system.
Methods:
Five p75NTRflox/flox transgenic C57BL/6J mice (aged 6-8 weeks, male and female unlimited, the age and sex of mice used for reproduction were the same below) and five keratin 14 promotor-driven (KRT14-) Cre+ /- transgenic C57BL/6J mice were bred and hybridized via Cre-loxP system. Five p75NTRflox/+ ·KRT14-Cre+ /- mice selected from the first generation of mice were mated with five p75NTRflox/flox mice to obtain the second generation hybrids. After the second generation mice were born 20-25 days, the parts of the mice tail were cut off to identify the genotype by polymerase chain reaction method. Four p75NTR gene complete cKO mice (6 weeks old) and 4 wild-type mice (6 weeks old) were selected and sacrificed respectively. The abdominal skin tissue and brain tissue were excised to observe the expression of p75NTR in the two tissue of two types of mice by immunohistochemical staining. The abdominal skin tissue of two types of mice was obtained to observe the histomorphological changes by hematoxylin and eosin staining.
Results:
(1) Twenty second generation mice were bred. The genotype of 4 mice was p75NTRflox/flox·KRT14-Cre+ /-(p75NTR-/-), i. e. p75NTR gene complete cKO mice; the genotype of 5 mice was p75NTRflox/+ ·KRT14-Cre+ /-, i. e. p75NTR gene partial cKO mice; the genotype of 5 mice was p75NTRflox/flox·KRT14-Cre-/-, and that of 6 mice was p75NTRflox/+ ·KRT14-Cre-/-, all of which were wild-type mice. (2) The expression of p75NTR was negative in skin epidermis tissue of p75NTR gene complete cKO mice, while numerous p75NTR positive expression was observed in skin epidermis tissue of wild-type mice. Abundant p75NTR positive expression was observed in brain tissue of both wild-type mice and p75NTR gene complete cKO mice. (3) There was no abnormal growth of skin epidermis tissue in both wild-type mice and p75NTR gene complete cKO mice, with intact hair follicle structure.
Conclusions
Applying Cre-loxP system can successfully construct a p75NTR-cKO mice model in epidermis cells without obvious changes in skin histomorphology.

8. A real-world study of paritaprevir/ritonavir-ombitasvir combined with dasabuvir in the treatment of genotype 1b chronic hepatitis C

Objective:
To recognize the efficacy and safety of paritaprevir/ritonavir-ombitasvir combined with dasabuvir (OBV/PTV/RTV+DSV) in the treatment of genotype 1b chronic hepatitis C.
Methods:
Patients with genotype 1b chronic hepatitis C who were admitted to the People's Hospital of Henan Province, Huashan Hospital of Shanghai and the Fifth Medical Center of the General Hospital of the People's Liberation Army of China between November 2017 to August 2018 were enlisted. All patients received OBV/PTV/RTV+DSV antiviral therapy. HCV RNA levels were measured at baseline, weeks 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 12, and 24, then 12 weeks, and 24 weeks after completion of treatment; patients’ comorbidity, concomitant medications, and clinical adverse events were recorded.
Results:
108 patients were enrolled in the study, with an average age of 49.1 years, 44 patients were male (40.8%), 96.3% (104/108) were newly diagnosed, and four patients had previous treatment history, of whom three were treated with IFN and one with IFN + DAA. Ninety-eight cases completed 12 weeks treatment and 89 cases were in follow up for 12 weeks, after discontinuation of the drug. Overall, 89 cases (100%) achieved SVR12.One patient treated with PR and DAA had HCV RNA level of 869175 IU/mL at 4 weeks of treatment, which was significantly higher than the baseline HCV RNA level (301776IU/ML), and was judged as failure of treatment; and follow-up was discontinued. Of all enrolled patients, 19 (17.6%) had underlying diseases and 15 (13.9%) had combined medications. During treatment, adverse events (AE) occurred in 11 patients (10.1%). The main adverse events were pruritus and elevated bilirubin.
Conclusion
Combined antiviral therapy (OBV/PTV/RTV+DSV) of 12 weeks are highly effective with good safety profile in the treatment of Chinese patients with genotype 1b chronic hepatitis C.
9.A review on the advancement of internet-based public health surveillance program

Internet data is introduced into public health arena under the features of fast updating and tremendous volume.Mining and analyzing internet data,researchers can model the internet-based surveillance system to assess the distribution of health-related events.There are two main types of internet-based surveillance systems,i.e.active and passive,which are distinguished by the sources of information.Through passive surveillance system,information is collected from search engine and social media while the active system gathers information through provision of the volunteers.Except for serving as a real-time and convenient complementary approach to traditional disease,food safety and adverse drug reaction surveillance program,Internet-based surveillance system can also play a role in health-related behavior surveillance and policy evaluation.Although several techniques have been applied to filter information,the accuracy of internet-based surveillance system is still bothered by the false positive information.In this article,we have summarized the development and application of internet-based surveillance system in public health to provide reference for a better surveillance program in China.
10.Lagged effects of diurnal temperature range on mortality in 66 cities in China: a time-series study

Objective To estimate the effect of daily diurnal temperature range (DTR) on mortality in different areas in China.Methods A time series study using the data collected from 66 areas in China was conducted,and Meta-analysis was used to analyze the estimates of associations between DTR and daily mortality.Modifying effects of extremely low and high DTR-mortality relationship by season and socioeconomic status (SES) were also evaluated respectively.Cumulative excess risk (CER) was used as an index to evaluate the effects.Results The information about 1 260 913 registered deaths were collected between 1 January 2006 and 31 December 2011,we found the relationship between extreme DTR and mortality was non-linear in all regions and the exposure-response curve was J-shaped.In central and south areas of China,the result indicated the obvious acute effect of extremely high DTR,and the mortality effect in central area (CER=5.1%,95%CI:2.4%-7.9%) was significant higher than that in south area (CER=4.5%,95%CI:1.7%-7.3%).Regarding to the modification of seasons,the cumulative mortality effect of DTR in cold season (CER=5.8%,95%CI:2.5%-9.2%) was higher than that in hot season (CER=3.1%,95%CI:1.1%-5.1%).Generally,deaths among the elderly (≥75 years) were associated more strongly with extremely high DTR.Conclusions The mortality effects of extremely DTR in different areas and seasons showed different characteristics,that in central area and in cold season it was significantly stronger.After modified by season and SES,DTRs were the greatest threat to vulnerable population,especially to the elderly (≥75 years).Therefore,more attention should be paid to vulnerable groups and protection measures should be taken according to the local and seasonal conditions.
