Objective To explore the relationship between biofilm formation ability and virulence of vari-ous drug-resistant strains of Staphylococcus aureus(SA)in bloodstream infections. Methods A total of 42 strains of bloodstream infection SA were collected and identified and tested for drug sensitivity using the BDM50 automatic bacterial identification drug susceptibility system. The biofilm formation ability was deter-mined by crystal violet staining. The virulence was evaluated by detecting extracellular lipase, extracellular protease, and hemolysin,as well as conducting a toxicity test with Galleria mellonella larvae. Results Among the 42 strains of bloodstream infection SA,there were 16 strains(38.10%)of methicillin-resistant Staphylo-coccus aureus(MRSA).Among the 42 bloodstream infected SA strains,25 strains(59.50%)had the ability to form biofilms, among which there were 18 strains of methicillin-sensitive Staphylococcus aureus(MSSA)and 7 strains of MRSA.Among the 42 SA strains with bloodstream infection,37 strains(88.10%)produced hemolysin,18 strains(42.90%)produced extracellular protease, and no strains produced extracellular lipase. The Galleria mellonella larvae toxicity test showed that MRSA had stronger virulence than MSSA.Conclusion Compared with MSSA,MRSA has a higher proportion of extracellular enzymes produced, stronger virulence, and relatively weaker ability to form biofilms.

Objective To investigate the relationship between two-lung ventilation (TLV) with single-lumen endotracheal tube (SLT), one-lung ventilation (OLV) with double-lumen endotracheal tube (DLT) and postoperative pulmonary complications (PPCs) after total thoracoscopic cardiac surgery. Methods The clinical data of patients who underwent totally thoracoscopic cardiac surgeries in the Guangdong Provincial People’s Hospital from October 2019 to October 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into 2 group according to the type of endotracheal tube, including a SLT group and a DLT group. Baseline data, surgical variables and PPCs were compared. The influencing factors of PPCs in the two groups were analyzed by binary logistic regression analysis. Results Finally 349 patients were enrolled, including 180 males and 169 females with an average age of (50.0±14.8) years. There were 219 patients in the SLT group and 130 patients in the DLT group. There was no statistical difference in baseline data, surgical variables or PPCs between the two groups (P>0.05). Binary logistic regression analysis showed that PPCs were related to body mass index in the SLT group (OR=0.778, 95%CI 0.637 to 0.951, P=0.014) and preoperative smoking history in the DLT group (OR=0.058, 95%CI 0.004 to 0.903, P=0.042). Conclusion For the patients who undergo totally thoracoscopic cardiac surgery, TLV with SLT and OLV with DLT show no significant association with PPCs. At the same time, PPCs are associated with body mass index in the SLT group, while associated with preoperative smoking history in the DLT group.

A random sample survey was conducted in 17 community medical institutes in 4 districts in Beijing.Among an effective sample of 385 residents.47.5% (n =183)of community residents chose community medical institutes for first contact care while 52.5% (n =202) opted for class other hospitals.Residents with lower education levels tended to choose community medical institutes (P =0.01).And those with chronic diseases preferred to choose communities (P=0.00).

Through cluster multistage sampling,a resident group of 6 412 subjects with hypertension in the rural area of Liaoning province were recruited.According to IDF and NCEP-ATPm criteria the age-standardized prevalences of metabolic syndrome were 36.2%and 25.9%respectively.The prevalence of metabolic syndrome decreased with advancing age,but increased with rising of blood pressure.
