ObjectiveTo understand the mental health literacy levels and influencing factors among middle school students in Minhang District, Shanghai, and to provide a basis for formulating mental health promotion strategies. MethodsA multi-stage stratified cluster sampling method was adopted. From September to October 2023, middle school students (including junior and senior high school) from 14 streets, towns, and industrial zones in Minhang District, Shanghai, were recruited to participate in a questionnaire survey. The survey collected demographic information and employed the Adolescent Mental Health Literacy Assessment Scale. This scale comprises four dimensions (knowledge, recognition ability, attitude, and behavior) with a total of 22 items, using a Likert 5-point scale (1‒5 points), giving a maximum total score of 110 points. Reverse-scored items were inverted, and the sum of all item scores constituted the total scale score, with higher scores indicating better mental health literacy. A total score of ≥88 points was defined as having adequate mental health literacy. Multiple linear regression was used to analyze the factors influencing mental health literacy. ResultsThe average mental health literacy score of the 3 963 middle school students in Minhang District of Shanghai City was (85.42±11.27) points, with 45.22% of students having adequate mental health literacy. Univariate analyses showed that female students, junior high school students, and those without stressful events or physical illnesses in the past three months had higher total scores of mental health literacy. Statistically significant differences in total scores were also observed among students with different family economic statuses, parental education levels, frequency of physical exercise, parental relationships, father‑child relationships, and mother‑child relationships (all P<0.05). Multiple linear regression analyses showed that middle school students who were female, had better family economic conditions, higher maternal education levels (university degree or above), and harmonious mother-child relationships had higher mental health literacy scores. In contrast, high school students and those middle school students who participated in less physical activity had lower mental health literacy scores. Multivariate logistic regression analyses indicated that students who were female (OR=1.336, 95%CI: 1.174‒1.520), had superior family economic status (OR=2.000, 95%CI: 1.101‒3.725), had mothers with a university education level (OR=1.501, 95%CI: 1.217‒1.856), had lost one parent (OR=2.189, 95%CI: 1.176~4.158), or reported harmonious mother‑child relationships (OR=2.052, 95%CI: 1.432‒2.987) were more likely to meet the criteria for mental health literacy, whereas those who rarely engaged in physical exercise (OR=0.502, 95%CI: 0.358‒0.694) were less likely to have adequate mental health literacy. Stratified analyses showed that mental health literacy levels among junior high school students were positively correlated with being female, having a mother with a university education level, and having a mother‑child relationship that was average or harmonious and having a harmonious father‑child relationship, and negatively correlated with occasional or rare participation in physical exercise. Among senior high school students, mental health literacy levels were positively correlated with being female, having good or superior family economic status, having a mother with a university education level or above, and having a harmonious mother‑child relationship. ConclusionThe rate of adequate mental health literacy among middle school students in Minhang District, Shanghai, was approximately 45.22%. Gender, grade level, family economic status, maternal education level, physical activity participation, and mother-child relationship are independent factors associated with the level of mental health literacy among middle school students. Mother-child relationship and physical activity are potential intervention entry points. It is recommended to implement targeted health promotion initiatives focusing on key groups, such as high school boys, students from economically disadvantaged families, and those with insufficient physical activity.

Tooth pulpitis is a prevalent oral disorder. Understanding the underlying mechanisms of pulpitis and developing effective treatment strategies hold great significance. Ferroptosis has recently emerged as a new form of cell death, but the role of ferroptosis in pulpitis remains largely unknown. In our study, single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) was used to identify cellular heterogeneity between 3 pulpitis tissue and 3 healthy pulp tissue, and explored ferroptosis occurrence in pulpitis tissue and inflamed dental pulp cells (DPCs). In scRNA-seq, 40 231 cells (Pulpitis: 17 814; Healthy pulp: 22 417) were captured, and visualized into 12 distinct cell clusters. Differentially expressed ferroptosis-related genes (DE-FRGs) were almost presented in each cluster in pulpitis vs healthy pulp. ROS and Fe²⁺ levels significantly rose, and immunohistochemistry showed low expression of GPX4 and high expression of PTGS2 in pulpitis. In LPS-stimulated DPCs, thymosin α1 increased the expression of GPX4 and FTL, and decreased expression of TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, and Fe²⁺ levels. In rat pulpitis models, both prothymosin α (PTMA, precursor of thymosin α1) gelatin sponge placed at the hole of pulp (LPS-P(gs)) and PTMA injection in pulp (LPS-P(i)) significantly reduced infiltration of inflammatory cells and expression of PTGS2, and increased the expression of GPX4. In RNA sequencing, the expression of DE-FRGs were reversed when thymosin α1 were added in LPS-stimulated DPCs. Collectively, single-cell atlas reveals cellular heterogeneity between pulpitis and healthy pulp, and ferroptosis occurrence in pulpitis. Thymosin α1 may reduce ferroptosis in DPCs to alleviate pulpitis and thus potentially has the ability to treat pulpitis.

Objectives:To investigate the factors affecting the formation of coronary collateral circulation(CCC)in patients with chronic total occlusion(CTO)lesion of coronary artery.Methods:A total of 305 consecutive patients who were hospitalized in the department of cardiology of the First Hospital of Lanzhou University from December 2022 to December 2023 and CTO lesions were confirmed by coronary angiography in at least one major coronary artery were included.The clinical data were collected,and the patients were divided into poor CCC group(Rentrop grade 0-1,n=109)and good CCC group(Rentrop grade 2-3,n=196)according to Rentrop criteria.Univariate logistic regression and multivariate logistic regression analysis were used to investigate the risk factors of poor CCC formation in CTO lesion patients.Results:There were 109 patients with poor CCC formation and 196 patients with good CCC formation in this cohort.The levels of white blood cell count,neutrophil count,platelet count,platelet to lymphocyte ratio,neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio,systemic immunoinflammatory index(SII),lipoprotein a and fibringen(Fib)were significantly higher,lymphocyte count and mean platelet volume were significantly lower in patients with poor CCC formation than in patients with good CCC formation(all P<0.05).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that higher SII(OR=1.004,95%CI:1.003-1.006,P<0.001),Fib(OR=1.546,95%CI:1.038-2.301,P=0.032)levels were independent predictors of poor CCC formation in CTO lesion patients.Conclusions:Higher levels of SII and Fib are independently correlated with poor CCC formation,which may be used as clinical predictor of poor CCC formation in CTO lesion patients.

In recent years, the prevalence of obstructive coronary artery disease has continued to rise. Despite the widespread application of strategies such as intensive pharmacotherapy, coronary artery bypass grafting, or percutaneous coronary intervention, a subset of patients still experience recurrent angina symptoms, which severely impacts their quality of life. For such cases of refractory angina (RA), researchers domestically and internationally have explored therapeutic approaches such as spinal cord stimulation, transmyocardial laser revascularization, and sympathectomy. However, existing studies are largely limited to small-scale clinical trials, and their clinical translation still faces challenges due to insufficient validation of safety and efficacy. Injectable hydrogels, as functional materials with hydrophilic three-dimensional network structures, demonstrate unique advantages in the treatment of RA. They can not only provide mechanical support but also serve as controlled-release carriers for drugs and proteins, and synergize with gene therapy and stem cell therapy to promotemyocardial tissue repair. This article systematically reviews the application prospects of injectable hydrogels in the treatment of RA, aiming to provide insights for future therapeutic strategies.

ObjectiveTo investigate the prevalence of cardiovascular diseases and their influencing factors in community-based schizophrenia patients in Shanghai, and to provide a scientific basis for the early identification and prevention of cardiovascular disease in this population. MethodsBased on the Shanghai community cohort with severe mental disorders in 2022, a total of 3 954 community-based schizophrenia patients were identified and included in this study through a stratified cluster sampling method. Basic information and relevant clinical data (including metabolic index data) were collected through questionnaire survey, physical examination and laboratory testing. Univariate analyses were performed using the chi-square tests, and multivariate logistic regression analyses were employed to identify influencing factors of comorbid cardiovascular diseases. ResultsA total of 3 954 community-based schizophrenia patients were included, of which a total of 1 237 (31.28%) patients had comorbid cardiovascular diseases. Multivariate logistic regression analyses showed that age 60 years old or above (OR=5.524, 95%CI: 3.716‒8.214), smoking behavior (OR=1.328, 95%CI: 1.042‒1.692), overweight (OR=1.900, 95%CI: 1.046‒3.451) or obesity (OR=2.678, 95%CI: 1.439‒4.985), elevated blood pressure (OR=1.546, 95%CI: 1.294‒1.846), abnormal fasting blood glucose (OR=1.552, 95%CI: 1.322‒1.823) and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol abnormalities (OR=1.283, 95%CI: 1.025‒1.606) were positively associated with the risk of comorbid cardiovascular diseases in patients with schizophrenia, while educational attainment of college/bachelor’s degree or above (OR=0.640, 95%CI: 0.450‒0.910) and being unmarried (OR=0.552, 95%CI: 0.457‒0.667) were negatively associated with the risk of cardiovascular diseases comorbidity. ConclusionAdvanced age, unhealthy behaviors and lifestyles, as well as abnormalities in blood pressure, blood glucose, and blood lipids, could all increase the risk of comorbid cardiovascular diseases in community schizophrenia patients. It is suggested to strengthen the monitoring and management of these risk factors in this population in the future, so as to achieve early detection, early diagnosis and early intervention of cardiovascular diseases.

With the rapid development of population aging in various countries around the world,the health and elderly care industry has been paid high attention.The standardization of smart health and elderly care technology and services is particularly important.This paper firstly reviewed the policies related to healthy elderly care in China.By analyzing the industrial standards and provincial standards issued,this paper focused on the policies proposed by the Shanghai Municipal Government for the standardization of smart health and elderly care,as well as the researches on the standard system and the construction of standard families.Shanghai group standards in the field of smart health and elderly care were summarized,including the guidelines for the construction of standard systems,elderly care service platforms,community elderly cafeterias,portable health monitoring terminals,indoor sports services,and home-based elderly care safety monitoring.A series of case analyses of the standardized implementation of the above aspects were also provided.Through standardization research and practice in recent years,it has been fully demonstrated that the standard research plays an important leading role in the field of smart health and elderly care.

Objective To analyze the frailty of patients with long-term maintenance dialysis(MD)and its influencing factors,and to explore the correlation of different dialysis modalities with the re-infection of novel coronavirus infection(COVID-19)and frailty syndrome.Methods Patients with regular dialysis in Nephrology Department of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University from February to June 2023 were selected.A cross-sectional survey was conducted to collect clinical data of the patients,including dialysis modality(i.e.maintenance hemodialysis,abbreviated as hemodialysis,and continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis,abbreviated as peritoneal dialysis),and whether with re-infection of COVID-19.Patients were divided into 3 groups using Fried's frailty phenotype(FP):non-frailty group,pre-or-intermediate frailty group,and frailty syndrome group.The clinical characteristics of the FP were compared among the three groups.The correlation of frailty with clinical data,dialysis modality,re-infection of COVID-19 in each group was compared.Multifactorial logistic regression was used to analyze the factors influencing the development of frailty syndrome in patients.Results A total of 246 dialysis patients were included in this study,with 77(31.3%)in the non-frailty group,83(33.7%)in the pre-frailty group and 86(35.0%)in the frailty syndrome group.The frailty syndrome group showed characteristics of advanced age,high pre-dialysis creatinine level,low serum albumin level and combined pleural effusion(all P＜0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the comparison of frailty between the hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis group(P = 0.960).COVID-19 re-positive patients had higher frailty score than non-re-positive patients.Multifactor logistic regression showed that age,COVID-19 re-infection of COVID-19,serum albumin,pre-dialysis creatinine,and pleural effusion were factors influencing the development of frailty syndrome in dialysis patients(P＜0.05).Conclusion There is high incidence of frailty syndrome in dialysis patients,and there is no correlation of frailty with dialysis modality.High serum albumin level is a protective factor for the development of frailty syndrome in patients,whereas re-infection of COVID-19,advanced age,high pre-dialysis blood creatinine level and pleural effusion are risk factors for the development of frailty syndrome.

ObjectiveTo investigate the prevalence of overweight or obesity in community patients with schizophrenia in Shanghai and to explore the related factors. MethodsStratified cluster sampling method was used and the general condition， physical examination and laboratory examination data of patients with schizophrenia who voluntarily participated in 2020 free health examination of National Basic Public Health Service were analyzed. ResultsA total of 3 200 patients were included into the study ，and the prevalence of overweight and obesity was 36.75% and 17.19%， respectively. Multivariate logistic regression analysis indicated that age between 40 and 60 （OR=1.333， 95%CI： 1.030‒1.724）， intake of first-generation antipsychotics （OR=1.413， 95%CI： 1.112‒1.796）， intake of second-generation antipsychotics （OR=1.573， 95%CI： 1.288‒1.921）， high-normal blood pressure （OR=1.549， 95%CI： 1.245‒1.927）， high-abnormal blood pressure （OR=2.824， 95%CI： 2.204‒3.619）， elevated ALT （OR=1.874， 95%CI： 1.386‒2.535）， elevated FBG （OR=1.270， 95%CI： 1.066‒1.513）， and elevated TG （OR=1.652， 95%CI： 1.335‒2.044） were the related factors that associated overweight or obesity in patients with schizophrenia. ConclusionOverweight and obesity are highly prevalent among community patients with schizophrenia in Shanghai. Age between 40 and 60， taking first-generation and second-generation antipsychotics， blood pressure higher than 120/80 mmHg， elevated ALT， elevated FBG， and elevated TG are associated with overweight or obesity in patients with schizophrenia. To provide personalized health guidance， medical staff in primary health care institutions should pay more attention to high-risk groups of overweight and obesity in schizophrenia patients at annual physical examination.

Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma,a traditional Chinese medicine also known as Gan Cao(GC),is frequently included in clinical prescriptions for the treatment of pneumonia.However,the pharmacological com-ponents of GC for pneumonia treatment are rarely explored.Gan An He Ji oral liquid(GAHJ)has a simple composition and contains GC liquid extracts and paregoric,and has been used clinically for many years.Therefore,GAHJ was selected as a compound preparation for the study of GC in the treatment of pneumonia.We conducted an in vivo study of patients with pneumonia undergoing GAHJ treatments for three days.Using the intelligent mass spectrometry data-processing technologies to analyze the meta-bolism of GC in vivo,we obtained 168 related components of GC in humans,consisting of 24 prototype components and 144 metabolites,with 135 compounds screened in plasma and 82 in urine.After analysis of the metabolic transformation relationship and relative exposure,six components(liquiritin,liquiritigenin,glycyrrhizin,glycyrrhetinic acid,daidzin,and formononetin)were selected as potential effective components.The experimental results based on two animal pneumonia models and the in-flammatory cell model showed that the mixture of these six components was effective in the treatment of pneumonia and lung injury and could effectively downregulate the level of inducible nitric oxide synthase(iNOS).Interestingly,glycyrrhetinic acid exhibited the strongest inhibition on iNOS and the highest exposure in vivo.The following molecular dynamic simulations indicated a strong bond between glycyrrhetinic acid and iNOS.Thus,the current study provides a pharmaceutical basis for GC and reveals the possible corresponding mechanisms in pneumonia treatment.
