[Objective] To explore the effectiveness of applying the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle to enhance the compatibility rate of five Rh blood group antigen phenotypes between donors and recipients across multiple hospital campuses. [Methods] Clinical blood transfusion data from May to July 2022 were selected. Specific improvement measures were formulated based on the survey results, and the PDCA cycle management model was implemented from August 2022. The post-intervention phase spanned from August 2022 to October 2023. The Rh phenotype compatibility rate, the detection rate of Rh system antibodies, and the proportion of Rh system antibodies among unexpected antibodies were compared between the pre-intervention phase (May to July 2022) and the post-intervention phase. [Results] After the continuous improvement with the PDCA cycle, the compatibility rate for the five Rh blood group antigen phenotypes between donors and recipients from August to October 2023 reached 81.90%, significantly higher than the 70.54% recorded during the pre-intervention phase (May to July 2022, P<0.01), and displayed a quarterly upward trend (β=0.028, P<0.05). The detection rate of Rh blood group system antibodies (β=-9.839×10-5, P<0.05) and its proportion among all detected antibodies (β=-0.022, P<0.05) showed a quarterly decreasing trend, both demonstrating a negative correlation with the enhanced compatibility rate (r values of -0.981 and -0.911, respectively; P<0.05). [Conclusion] The implementation of targeted measures through the PDCA cycle can effectively increase the compatibility rate of five Rh blood group antigen phenotypes between donors and recipients, reduce the occurrence of unexpected Rh blood group antibodies, thereby lowering the risk of transfusion and enhancing the quality and safety of medical care.

Objective:
To investigate the mental health status and related factors among primary and secondary school students in western Yunnan Province, so ao to provide scientific evidences for advancing mental health education.
Methods:
In June 2024, a stratified cluster sampling method was employed to select 4 584 students from 18 schools across Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Lincang City and Baoshan City three regions in western Yunnan Province. The Mental Health Test (MHT) was used for assessment. Latent class analysis (LCA) and Logistic regression were applied for data classification and related factor analysis respectively.
Results:
The overall positive detection rate of MHT was 11.81%, with a mean total score of 40.50±19.25. The predominant issues were learning anxiety (58.4%), hypersensitivity tendency (31.1%), and self blame tendency (23.1%). LCA categorized students into four groups:severe psychological problems group (74.4% detection rate), learning anxiety hypersensitivity group ( 16.4 %), learning anxiety physical symptoms group (9.2%), and healthy group (0). Logistic regression revealed that compared with the healthy group, the severe problems group showed higher risks among females ( OR =3.01), junior/senior high school students ( OR =1.88/4.02), and those with authoritarian parenting ( OR =3.54); the anxiety hypersensitivity group had higher risks for females ( OR =1.87), senior high students ( OR =1.54), boarders ( OR =1.31), and authoritarian parenting recipients ( OR = 1.85 ); the anxiety physical symptoms group demonstrated increased risks among females ( OR =2.22), senior high students ( OR =2.58), and authoritarian parenting recipients ( OR =2.74), while lower risks were observed for students with parent/grandparent guardians ( OR =0.38) and non only children ( OR =0.58) (all P <0.05).
Conclusions
Mental health problems are prominent among students in western Yunnan, with gender, grade level, boarding status, guardian type, and parenting style being key determinants. Recommendations include strengthening mental health education, prioritizing left behind children s psychological well being and promoting healthy development.

ObjectiveTo explore the distribution patterns and correlations of pet-related cat/dog dander allergens and mold allergens in patients with allergic diseases, providing evidence for individualized diagnosis, treatment, and prevention strategies. MethodsA retrospective analysis was conducted on 798 patients diagnosed with allergic diseases at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University between April 2021 and October 2023. All patients underwent UniCAP platform testing for specific immunoglobulin E (sIgE) levels against cat dander, dog dander, and mold mix (mx1/mx2), alongside total IgE (tIgE) quantification. Descriptive statistics, Mann-Whitney U tests, and chi-square analyses were employed to evaluate allergen distribution and interrelationships. ResultsAmong the 798 patients (395 males, 403 females, ratio 1∶1.02), their ages ranged from 0.67 to 69 years (median 14 years, IQR 6-29). A total of 63.2% (504/798) had a single allergic disease, with allergic rhinitis (AR, 49.2%) being the most common. The remaining 36.8% (294/798) had ≥2 allergic diseases, with AR combined with atopic dermatitis (AD, 10.7%) as the predominant comorbidity. The positivity rate for cat/dog dander sIgE was 24.1% (192/798), with a significantly higher prevalence in females (30.8%) than males (16.7%, P<0.05). Cat dander sensitization increased with age in patients under 18 years. Among positive cases, cat dander sIgE level 2 was most frequent (25.9%), while dog dander sIgE level 1 predominated (55%). Patients with cat dander sIgE levels 4-6 had significantly higher tIgE than those with levels 1-3 (P<0.05). The positivity rate for mold mix (mx1/mx2) sIgE was 7.4% (59/798), with mx2 as the primary sensitizer and level 2 being the most common. In mx2-positive patients, the cat/dog dander sIgE positivity rate (44.8%) was significantly higher than that in mx2-negative patients (17.9%, P<0.05), and tIgE levels were also higher (P<0.05). ConclusionCat dander sensitization increases with age in children. Cat/dog dander and mold allergens are closely linked to AR and AR combined with AD. Synergistic correlations exist between cat/dog dander sIgE and mold mx2 sIgE. Combined detection of these allergens is critical for precision diagnosis and management of pet-related allergic diseases.

Journal of Army Medical University 2025;47(16):1872-1882
Objective To investigate the expression level of circular RNA circ-Tns3 in Alzheimer's disease(AD)mice and its role in Aβ-induced neuronal damage. Methods Five APP/PS1 transgenic AD mice and 5 wild-type(WT)mice,weighting of 23~26 g and aged 6 months were subjected in the study.Morris water maze test was used to assess learning and memory abilities, and immunohistochemical staining was performed to observe the number of Aβ plaques in the hippocampal tissue.Subsequently, total RNA was extracted from the brains to detect the differential expression of circRNAs between AD and WT mice, and the results were further analyzed with Gene Ontology(GO)analysis and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)pathway analysis. The top 6 differentially expressed circRNAs were validated by real-time quantitative PCR(RT-qPCR).In in vitro experiments,Aβ1-42 was used to treat neuronal cells to establish AD cell model, and si-circ-Tns3 was transfected into Aβ1-42-treated neuronal cells to knock down circ-Tns3.RT-qPCR was used to determine the expression levels of circ-Tns3 and miR-671-5p.Cell viability and apoptotic rate were detected by CCK-8 assay and TUNEL staining, respectively. The levels of superoxide dismutase(SOD)and malondialdehyde(MDA)were measured using corresponding kits, and the levels of inflammatory factors IL-6,IL-1β,and TNF-α were detected with ELISA.The interaction between circ-Tns3 and miR-671-5p was verified by dual-luciferase reporter assay and RNA-binding protein immunoprecipitation(RIP)assay. The expression level of Sirt1 protein was detected by Western blotting. Results The 6-month-old AD mice exhibited significant cognitive impairment and Aβ deposition(P<0.01).There were 269 differentially expressed circRNAs identified between AD and WT mice,of which 159 were up-regulated and 110 down-regulated.GO and KEGG enrichment analyses showed that these differentially expressed circRNAs were mainly involved in synaptic transmission, memory, and cholinergic synapse signaling pathways. The expression of circ-Tns3 was significantly increased not only in the brain tissue of AD mice but also in neuronal cells after Aβ1-42 treatment. In cellular experiments, knockdown of circ-Tns3 significantly reduced cell viability and number of apoptotic cells in Aβ1-42-treated neuronal cells, decreased MDA content, increased SOD activity, and reduced the levels of IL-6,IL-1β,and TNF-α(P<0.01).The starBase database predicted that circ-Tns3 and miR-671-5p have complementary sequences, and dual-luciferase reporter and RIP assays confirmed their interaction. The bioinformatics database predicted that miR-671-5p and sirt1 have complementary sequences.Western blotting indicated that in neuronal cells treated with Aβ1-42,the expression of sirt1 was increased after knockdown of circ-Tns3(P<0.01).In Aβ1-42-treated neuronal cells, after knockdown of circ-Tns3,addition of miR-671-5p inhibitor significantly decreased the expression level of sirt1 protein(P<0.01).Conclusions circ-Tns3 is highly expressed in AD mice and cell model of AD.Knocking circ-Tns3 down improves neuronal damage.circ-Tns3 may be involved in the neuronal damage through regulating sirt 1 protein by binding to miR-671-5p.
