Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2025;45(9):1311-1317
This paper introduces the academic characteristics of Professor ZHANG Ren in treatment with acupuncture for refractory eye diseases in modern times, guided by "homotherapy for heteropathy" (same therapy for different diseases sharing the same pathogenesis). The refractory eye diseases in modern times include a variety of conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, high myopia and its complications, dry eye, cortical visual impairment and genetic eye diseases. The same therapy is used because these diseases share the similar location and pathogenesis. Professor ZHANG optimizes the methods of acupoint selection and provides the comprehensive prescriptions, "basic prescription, prescription based on disease differentiation, and supplementary prescription". A variety of acupuncture manipulation techniques are operated in clinical practice, such as compound needling methods, penetration needling, manipulations for promoting qi movement and conducting qi flow. "Early, regular and persistent" treatment is the common requirement with "the same acupoints, the same prescription and the same acupuncture method" as well as at "the same time". It is also proposed that the treatment should be provided flexibly according to the different symptoms, "identifying the differences within similarities".

Modern Clinical Nursing 2024;23(12):1-8
Objective To explore the relationship between the variability of blood pressure and the occurrence of acute kidney injury(AKI)in patients with hypovolemic shock so as to provide a theoretical basis for early prediction and prevention of AKI.Methods Clinical data of 661 critically ill patients with hypovolemic shock were acquired from the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care Ⅳ(MIMIC-Ⅳ)database from 2008 to 2022.Data were grouped with the quartile division method, with systolic blood pressure average real variability(SBP-ARV)and diastolic blood pressure average real variability(DBP-ARV)as the continuous or categorical variables.Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to examine the relationships of SBP-ARV and DBP-ARV with the occurrence of AKI.Additionally, the relationship between SBP-ARV and the occurrence of AKI was further investigated in subgroups of gender, age, sequential organ failure assessment(SOFA),hypertension, diabetes, and the use of vasopressors after correction of all covariates. Results Logistic regression analysis showed that SBP-ARV,a continuous variable, was independently associated with the occurrence of AKI[OR(95%CI):1.05(1.01~1.10),P=0.024].However,DBP-ARV was not significantly related to the occurrence of AKI.When SBP-ARV was grouped by quartile division,Q4 group had a significantly higher risk of AKI[OR(95%CI):1.83(1.04~3.22),P=0.037]compared with that of Q1 group.Analyses across the subgroups revealed that there was an interaction between SBP-ARV and diabetes(P=0.033).Conclusion For ICU patients with hypovolemic shock,SBP-ARV positively associates with the occurrence of AKI.

OBJECTIVE
To obtain stronger cytotoxic activity of panaxadiol derivatives.
METHODS
The 3-amino panaxadiol was prepared by the bioelectronic isosteric principle, and then 18 derivatives of cinnamic acid, NO donor and other types of panaxadiol derivatives were synthesized, among them, 12 compounds had not been reported in the literature, and their structures had been confirmed by 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and mass spectrometry. These compounds were evaluated for their cytotoxic activity by MTS assay against human leukemia cell line HL-60, liver cancer cell line SMMC-7721, lung cancer cell line A-549, breast cancer cell line MCF-7, and colon cancer cell line SW480.
RESULTS
These results showed that compounds 6c, 7 as well as 7j exhibited potent inhibitory activities against all five tumor cells, especially the IC50 values of compound 7 against HL-60 and SMMC-7721cells were 3.41 and 4.51 μmol·L−1, respectively. It was significantly superior to panaxadiol in cytotoxicity.
CONCLUSION
These results show that 7 and 7j can be used as promising lead compounds for further research.
