ObjectiveTo compare the differences between wild Alpiniae Oxyphyllae Fructus(WAOF) and cultivated Alpiniae Oxyphyllae Fructus(CAOF) through a traditional quality evaluation system for medicinal materials. MethodsA total of 10 batches of WAOF and 12 batches of CAOF samples were collected from various regions of Hainan province. Relevant analytical methods from the 2020 edition of the Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China were employed to observe the characteristics of WAOF and CAOF, followed by microscopic identification, thin-layer chromatography(TLC) identification, moisture content(toluene method), total ash, acid-insoluble ash, water-soluble and alcohol-soluble extracts(hot dipping method), water-soluble protein, total polysaccharides and total flavonoids(ultraviolet spectrophotometry), and volatile oil content(method A under general rule 2204). The contents of five active components(protocatechuic acid, chrysin, kaempferol, tectochrysin and nootkatone) were quantified using ultra-performance liquid chromatography(UPLC), and the antioxidant activity was evaluated. Building upon traditional quality evaluation of AOF, quantitative measurements were conducted on its appearance traits including diameter, length, plumpness(diameter/length ratio), and color. Canonical correlation analysis was performed using SPSS 26.0 to explore relationships between appearance traits and intrinsic quality. ResultsNo significant differences were observed between WAOF and CAOF in microscopic observation, TLC identification, moisture content, protocatechuic acid content, kaempferol content, odor, or antioxidant activity measured by 2,2ʹ-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid)(ABTS) method. WAOF exhibited significantly higher levels in water-soluble extracts, alcohol-soluble extracts, total polysaccharide content, water-soluble protein content, 100-grain weight, length, and total color difference(ΔE*ab) compared to CAOF(P<0.01). In contrast, CAOF showed significantly higher levels of total ash, acid-insoluble ash, content of total flavonoids, volatile oil content, chrysin content, tectochrysin content, nootkatone content, diameter, plumpness, lightness(L*), red-green chromaticity(a*), yellow-blue chromaticity(b*), and antioxidant activity measured by 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH) method compared to WAOF(P<0.01). Correlation analysis between 7 phenotypic traits and 8 quality traits revealed that among the phenotypic traits, plumpness, L*, a*, and b* exerted significant influence on intrinsic quality. Among the quality traits, total flavonoids, volatile oils, nootkatone, chrysin, and tectochrysin contributed substantially to intrinsic quality. ConclusionPlumpness, L*, a*, and b* of AOF significantly influence its intrinsic quality, and higher values of these parameters indicate relatively superior intrinsic quality. The comprehensive quality evaluation reveals that CAOF samples collected in this study are superior to their wild counterparts.

Objective:To systematically evaluate qualitative research on intimate relationship experiences between dementia patients and their spouses. Methods:Qualitative studies on intimate relationship experiences of individuals with dementia and their spouses were electronically retrieved from the Cochrane Library, PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, WanFang Data, VIP, and SinoMed. The search period was from the establishment of the database to June 30, 2025. The literature was evaluated for quality using the Joanna Briggs Institute Quality Assessment Criteria for Qualitative Research. The results were synthesized through the aggregative integration method. Results:A total of 12 studies were included, yielding 46 findings that were categorized into 9 themes and synthesized into 3 integrated outcomes of dysfunction and challenges in intimate relationships, adjustment and coping strategies in intimate relationships, and reshaping and sublimation in intimate relationships. Conclusions:Patients with dementia and their spouses face multiple challenges in their intimate relationships and marital quality. Healthcare providers should focus on the lived experiences and unmet needs of dementia patients and their spouses, offer targeted psychological interventions and support, promote the stable development of intimate relationships, so as to improve their capacity to cope with the disease.

Objective:To investigate the anticipatory grief and to explore its correlates among family caregiv-ers of patients with advanced gastrointestinal cancer. Methods:A total of 283 family caregivers of patients with ad-vanced digestive cancer in the gastroenterology ward of a hospital were assessed using the Perceptive Social Support Scale(PSSS),Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire(SCSQ),Mishel Illness Uncertainty Scale for Family Member(MULS-FM)and Anticipatory Grief Scale(AGS).Results:The median AGS score was 91.00(80.00,98.00).Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that the AGS scores were negatively correlated with PSSS scores(β=-0.21),positive coping scores(β=-0.43),education level(β=-4.99)and age(β=-4.23),but positively correlated with MULS-FM scores(β=0.24).Conclusion:Family caregivers exhibited moderate-to-high anticipato-ry grief, which significantly influenced by age, perceived social support, positive coping style, illness uncertainty and education level.

Journal of Peking University(Health Sciences) 2024;56(1):144-149
Objective:To preliminarily explore the association of pregnancy factors with cow's milk protein allergy in infants. Methods:This study was based on data from a subcohort of a study called ge-netic susceptibility to cow's milk allergy in Chinese children, including infants born in Peking University People's Hospital between March 1,2020,and December 31,2020.The infants were divided into a cow's milk protein allergy(CMPA)group and a control group according to whether they had developed cow's milk protein allergy at the age of 1 year.We retrospectively collected the clinical data of infants and their mothers before and during pregnancy, and analyzed the association of multiple factors during pregnancy with cow's milk protein allergy in infants. Results:A total of 278 infants were enrolled in this study, including 52 infants with CMPA and 226 infants without CMPA.Among them, there were 143 boys and 135 girls. The proportion of male infants in the CMPA group(69.2%)was higher than that in the control group(47.3%),and the difference was statistically significant(P=0.004).There were no significant differences in the distribution of birth weight, gestational age at birth,low-birth-weight in-fants,premature,umbilical cord entangle neck, and neonatal asphyxia between the CMPA group and the control group(P>0.05).The proportion of mothers complicated with autoimmune diseases, anemia or antibiotics exposure during pregnancy in the CMPA group was higher than that in the control group, and there were statistical differences between the two groups(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the distribution of other pregnancy complications between the two groups(P>0.05),such as eclamp-sia/preeclampsia,chronic hypertension/gestational hypertension,diabetes/gestational diabetes, thyroid diseases, and so on.There was no significant difference in the overall distribution of some blood routine indexes during pregnancy between the CMPA group and the control group(P>0.05).Multivariate Lo-gistic regression analysis showed that male infant, mothers complicated with autoimmune diseases or ane-mia,antibiotic exposure during pregnancy were independent risk factors for cow's milk protein allergy. Conclusion:Male infant, mothers complicated with autoimmune diseases or anemia, antibiotic exposure during pregnancy were independent risk factors for cow's milk protein allergy.
