Shanghai Journal of Preventive Medicine 2026;38(2):104-107
ObjectiveTo investigate the contamination levels of zearalenone (ZEN) in commercially available edible vegetable oils in Ningbo City and to assess its health risks to local residents. MethodsA total of 330 samples of commercially available edible vegetable oil samples (50 each of peanut oil, corn oil, and olive oil; 40 each of rapeseed oil and blended oil; 30 each of soybean oil, rice oil, and sunflower seed oil; and 10 of camellia oil) were collected in 2024. The samples were tested for ZEN using the first method specified in GB 5009.209‒2016 National Food Safety Standard―Determination of Zearalenone in Food, namely the liquid chromatography method, and the contamination status was analyzed. Additionally, combined with dietary consumption data of residents, the Monte Carlo simulation method was employed to evaluate the health risks of ZEN in edible vegetable oils. ResultsZEN was detected in 267 out of 330 samples, with a detection rate of 80.91%, and the median (P50) and the 25th, 75th percentiles (P25, P75) of ZEN concentrations were 2.02 (0.37, 17.90) μg·kg-1, with a maximum value of 342.00 μg·kg-1. The ZEN detection rates in corn oil, peanut oil, and blended oil were all 100.00%. The daily average exposure (P50) and daily high exposure (P95) to ZEN via edible vegetable oils among Ningbo residents were 0.001 μg·kg-1 (normalized to body weight, same below) and 0.060 μg·kg-1, respectively. However, 1.22% of Ningbo residents had a daily ZEN exposure exceeding the tolerable daily intake (TDI) of 0.25 μg·kg-1. The hazard quotients (HQ) for the daily average exposure (P50) and daily high exposure (P95) levels were 0.004 and 0.020, respectively, both substantially below 1. Nevertheless, the probability of health risk for Ningbo residents due to ZEN exposure from vegetable oil consumption remained at 1.02%. ConclusionEdible vegetable oils in Ningbo City were contaminated with ZEN, but the probability of ZEN exposure exceeding the TDI through edible vegetable oils was relatively low, and the associated health risk probability were also minimal, indicating an overall insignificant health risk.

BACKGROUND:The development of calcium phosphate bone cement is limited due to its poor mechanical properties and weak osteogenic ability.Silicate bioactive glass is highly favored due to its excellent biological activity and osteogenic ability.Simultaneously, fiber structures can enhance the mechanical strength of materials.OBJECTIVE:To investigate the mechanical properties, biocompatibility, and osteogenic effect of silicate bioactive glass fiber composite calcium phosphate bone cement.METHODS:Different mass percentages(0%,10%,and 20%)of silicate bioactive glass fiber were added to the solid phase of calcium phosphate bone cement, mixed with the liquid phase and cured for 48 hours to obtain silicate bioactive glass fiber composite calcium phosphate bone cement. The mechanical properties, setting time, and ion precipitation of the cement were characterized. The three groups of bone cement extracts were co-cultured with MC3T3-E1 cells. The cell compatibility of the materials was evaluated by CCK-8 assay,live/dead staining, and phalloidin staining. After osteogenic induction, the osteogenic induction ability of the materials was evaluated by alkaline phosphatase staining, alizarin red staining,RUNX2 immunofluorescence staining, and RT-PCR.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)With the increase of silicate bioactive glass fiber content, the compressive strength and flexural strength of bone cement increased, and the setting time was prolonged. When bone cement was immersed in simulated body fluid, the precipitation of silicon ions, calcium ions, and phosphorus ions could be detected. Moreover, with the increase of silicate bioactive glass fiber content, the mass concentration of silicon ions and phosphorus ions released by bone cement increased, and the mass concentration of calcium ions decreased.(2)Live/dead staining and phalloidin staining results exhibited that silicate bioactive glass fiber composite calcium phosphate bone cement had no toxic effect on MC3T3-E1 cells.CCK-8 assay results showed that silicate bioactive glass fiber composite calcium phosphate bone cement could promote the proliferation of MC3T3-E1 cells.(3)With the increase of silicate bioactive glass fiber content in bone cement, the alkaline phosphatase activity and extracellular calcium deposition of MC3T3-E1 cells increased, the expression of RUNX2 protein increased, and the expression of alkaline phosphatase, osteocalcin, osteopontin, and RUNX2 mRNA expression increased.(4)The results indicate that silicate bioactive glass fibers can enhance the mechanical properties and osteogenic induction ability of calcium phosphate bone cement, among which 20%silicate bioactive glass fibers have a more obvious effect.

Objective:To explore the current status and influencing factors of self-care ability in patients with cystostomy and ileal conduit. Methods:Using the convenient sampling method, a total of 160 patients with cystostomy and ileal conduit who visited the Urostomy Clinic of Peking University First Hospital from October 2021 to March 2022 were selected as the research objects. Patients were surveyed using a general information survey questionnaire, Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS) and Urostomy Education Scale. Spearman correlation analysis was used to explore the correlation between social support and self-care in patients with cystostomy and ileal conduit, and multiple linear regression analysis was used to explore the influencing factors of self-care ability in patients with cystostomy and ileal conduit. A total of 160 questionnaires were sent out, and 157 were effectively collected, with an effective recovery rate of 98.13% (157/160) .Results:The total score of Urostomy Education Scale of 157 patients with cystostomy and ileal conduit was [20.00 (4.00, 21.00) ]. The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that marital status, comorbidities, stoma and peristomal complications, frequency of follow up in urostomy clinic and objective support were the influenting factors for self-care of patients with cystostomy and ileal conduit ( P<0.05) . Conclusions:Self-care of patients with cystostomy and ileal conduit is related to many factors. Medical staff should strengthen the intervention and management of patients with cystostomy and ileal conduit from multiple aspects such as individual and social function, so as to improve their self-care ability.
