This paper introduces a real-world cohort research model for community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) based on the Jiangsu Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Dominant Diseases Diagnosis and Treatment Data Platform. Firstly, data cleaning is performed by standardizing diagnosis, symptoms, treatment and imaging, intelligently extracting unstructured information, and cleaning and constructing a standardized database. Secondly, for cohort establishment, CAP patients across the province are screened in accordance with CAP diagnostic criteria to build a high-quality disease-specific cohort. Lastly, in terms of protocol design, the characteristics of TCM research and the CAP disease profile are considered to determine appropriate inclusion and exclusion criteria, estimate sample size, define interventions, outcomes and economic evaluations, providing a reference for real-world TCM research on CAP.

3.Effect of monocular form deprivation during the pre-critical period on dendritic spine density and morphology in V1 neurons

Objective:To investigate the effect of monocular form deprivation (MD) during the pre-critical period of visual development on the density and morphology of dendritic spines in mouse primary visual cortex (V1) neurons.Methods:Twenty SPF male C57BL/6J mice with eyes opened on postnatal day 14 (P14) were selected and divided into MD and control groups using a random number table, with 10 mice in each group.The MD group was fed to P18 after 4 days of MD in the right eye, and the control group was raised to P18 under the same feeding conditions.All mice were decapitated after cardiac perfusion, and the sections were stained with the cell membrane fluorescent probe 1, 1′-dioctadecyl-3, 3′, 3′-tetramethylindocarbocyanine perchlorate, and imaged by laser scanning confocal microscopy to observe and compare the differences in density and morphology of dendritic spines in bilateral V1 neurons between the control group and the MD group.This study was approved by the Animal Ethics Committee of Tianjin Medical University (No.TMUaMEC2022004).Results:The total density of dendritic spines in the V1 area on the left side of the control group, the right side of the control group, the left side of the MD group, and the right side of the MD group were (7.57±0.25), (7.42±0.25), (6.54±0.18), and (7.51±0.29)spines/10 μm, respectively, with a statistically significant overall difference ( F=3.818, P<0.05).The total density of dendritic spines in the left V1 area of mice in the MD group was significantly lower than that in the left side of the control group and the right side of the MD group, and the differences were statistically significant (both P<0.05).There was a significant difference in the proportion of the four types of dendritic spines in V1 neurons on both sides between the two groups ( χ2=26.295, P=0.002).There was a significant difference in the proportion of the four types of dendritic spines between the left V1 of the MD group and the left and right V1 of the control group (both P<0.008 3).There was a significant difference in the filopodia-type dendritic spine density in bilateral V1 neurons between the two groups ( F=3.253, P<0.05).Compared with the left V1 area of the control group, the density of filopodia-type dendritic spines in the left V1 area of the MD group decreased significantly, with a statistical significance ( P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the density of thin-type, mushroom-type, and stubby-type dendritic spines in bilateral V1 area neurons between the two groups ( F=1.760, 2.618, 1.749; all P>0.05). Conclusions:MD during the pre-critical period of visual development can cause a decrease in the total density of dendritic spines and significant changes in the compositional proportions in the V1 contralateral to the deprived eye, and is mainly manifested by a decrease in the number of filopodia, suggesting that abnormal visual experience can cause plastic changes in the number and structure of synapses in the visual cortex during the pre-critical period of visual development.
4.A bibliometric analysis of research progress in temporomandibular disorders: 2010-2024

Objective:To analyze research trends, hotspots, and international collaboration in temporomandibular disorders (TMD) from 2010 to 2024 using bibliometric methods.Methods:A total of 4 368 articles published between January 2010 to December 2024 were retrieved from PubMed using the search strategy temporomandibular disorders[MeSH Terms] OR temporomandibular joint disorders[Title/Abstract]. The R package"bibliometrix" was employed to analyze publication statistics, author collaboration networks, and keyword co-occurrence.Results:The annual publication volume in the TMD field increased 3.4-fold from 2010 to 2024, with an average annual output of 291.2 articles. MANFREDINI DANIELE was identified as the most prolific author (74 articles). The Journal of Oral Rehabilitation ranked first in terms of publication quantity (454 articles). The University of S?o Paulo (Brazil) emerged as the leading contributor, followed by Sichuan University (China) globally. Research hotspots predominantly focused on the DC/TMD diagnostic criteria and pain mechanisms. Analysis of international collaboration networks revealed that core authors (e.g., Lobbezoo F, Manfredini D) have driven advancements in the field through multidisciplinary collaboration (dentistry+psychology+medical imaging). The high-frequency occurrence of the imaging keyword "magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)" underscores its pivotal role in diagnosing disc displacement. Chinese institutions (Sichuan University, Peking University) ranked second globally in research output; however, interdisciplinary international collaboration remained limited, with multiple-country publications (MCP) accounting for only 13.0%. Conclusions:TMD research demonstrates interdisciplinary integration, highlighting the need for future emphasis on Asian population studies and innovative diagnostic/therapeutic technologies.

6.Evaluation-criteria-based development of a lean management system for a clinical blood transfusion

Objective This study aims to examine the effect of a fine-grained management system for hospital clinical blood transfusion based on evaluation criteria.Methods The data related to clinical blood transfusion before and after the system were collected and analyzed retrospectively in terms of 8 dimensions:transfusion approval process,transfusion indication evalua-tion,time interval from blood collection to transfusion,and transfusion medical record writing.Results After the system was put into operation,the rationality rate of blood transfusion approval process increased from 90.30%to 99.52%,the rationality rate of blood transfusion indication evaluation increased from 84.22%to 90.17%,the rationality rate of informed consent filling before blood transfusion increased from 87.62%to 94.72%,and the rationality rate of post-transfusion efficacy evaluation increased from 82.28%to 89.93%.The time interval from blood collection to transfusion was significantly shortened,with statistical sig-nificance(P<0.05).Conclusion The lean management system for clinical blood transfusion can significantly enhance the safe-ty and efficacy of blood transfusion,and improve the quality of healthcare services and the management level of hospitals.

Objective To study the changes of lipid peroxidation and antioxidant capacity in patients with hypercholesterolemia.Methods A total of 100 patients with elevated cholesterol treated in the People's Hospital of Qitaihe from January to May 2024 were included in hypercholesterolemia group,and another 80 people with normal blood lipid in the hospital during the same period were included in control group.Malondialdehyde(MDA),glutathione(GSH),glutathione reductase(GR)and total antioxidant capacity(TAC)were determined in all subjects.Results The levels of total cholesterol,low density lipoprotein-cholesterol and MDA in hypercholesterolemia group were significantly higher than those in control group,while the levels of GSH,GR and TAC were significantly lower than those in control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Patients with hypercholesterolemia have severe lipid peroxidation,which may cause vascular endothelial cell damage.
9.Evaluation of economic burden of ICU patients due to hospital-associated MDROs infection based on propensity score matching

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the economic burden of the intensive care unit(ICU)patients due to hospital-associated multidrug-resistant organisms(MDROs)infections based on propensity score matching(PSM)so as to provide evidence-based bases for prevention and control of hospital-associated MDROs infection and improvement of utilization efficiency of medical resources.METHODS A total of 2118 patients who were hospitalized in Zibo Central Hospital from Jan.1,2023 to Dec.31,2024 and conformed to the inclusion and exclusion criteria were re-cruited as the research subjects.The patients with hospital-associated MDROs infections were matched in a 1∶1 ratio by PSM(with the clamp value 0.02).Totally 309 pairs were successfully matched.The length of hospital stay and the costs were observed and compared between the MDROs group and the non-MDROs group.RESULTS The MDROs group was with the length of hospital stay 14.00 days longer than the non-MDROs group after the matching(Z=-5.750,P<0.001),with the total cost of hospitalization increased by 91,420.84 yuan(Z=-8.271,P<0.001).With the respect to the medical treatment expenses,the expenses of the MDROs group were higher than those of the non-MDROs group,covering the cost of medical service,therapeutic procedures,nursing,western medicine and TCM,and there were significant differences(P<0.05).Among the differences in the costs between the two groups,the difference in the cost of western medicine was the most signif-icant(22,182.91 yuan),followed by the cost of clinical laboratory test for diagnosis(19,529.60 yuan)and the cost of therapeutic procedures(16,333.50 yuan).CONCLUSIONS The hospital-associated MDROs infections may lead to the extension of hospital stay length of the ICU patients,which then increases the economic burden.There-fore,it is necessary to strengthen the multidisciplinary collaboration and formulate corresponding measures so as to reduce the risk of such infections among the ICU patients.
