Objective To explore the application value of CT radiomics and high-resolution MRI deep neural network in predicting lymph node metastasis(LNM)of non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods A total of 420 NSCLC patients were selected and randomly divided into training group(294 cases)and test group(126 cases)in a ratio of 7∶3.Lymph nodes were annotated using the MRIcroGL software,and radiomics features were extracted from thin-section CT images.Various feature screening methods were applied to optimize the features.A CT radiomics model was established using a support vector machine(SVM),and a high-res-olution MRI deep neural network model incorporating convolutional layers was constructed.Then the model performances were eval-uated,and the diagnostic efficacy of CT,MRI,and the combined models were compared using the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves.Results Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator(LASSO)regression identified 8 CT imaging features.The area under the curve(AUC)of the SVM model in the training and test groups were 0.755 and 0.765,and those of the high-resolu-tion MRI deep neural network model in the training and test groups were 0.884 and 0.899,respectively,demonstrating a high pre-dictive value.Conclusion The combined model of CT radiomics and high-resolution MRI deep neural network demonstrates superi-or performance in predicting LNM in NSCLC patients and holds significant clinical application value.

Objective To explore the symptom prevalence in the patients with pulmonary nodules in Lingnan area and to investigate the influencing factors,thus to provide data support for the construction of differentiation and treatment system of symptoms-syndrome elements-syndromes-constitutions for patients with pulmonary nodules,and to promote the establishment of secondary prevention system of lung cancer with the in-depth participation of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).Methods A cross-sectional study was adopted to investigate patients with pulmonary nodules who admitted in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine from August 2023 to January 2024.Data collection covered the basic information,clinical characteristics and symptoms of the patients.Likert four-level scale was used for the grading of the severity of the symptoms,multivariate linear regression was adopted to construct three regression models,and then the factors influencing the severity of symptoms of patients with pulmonary nodules were explored.Results(1)A total of 274 patients were enrolled in the analysis,including 160 females and 114 males,with a mean age of(54.44±12.00)years old and the symptom scores averaging(3.97±3.80)point.The included patients with pulmonary nodules were characterized by females outnumbering males,a higher proportion of middle-aged and elderly people,multiple pulmonary nodules being more common.(2)The analysis of the symptoms of the 274 patients showed that symptoms with an incidence over 30%were fatigue(116 cases,42.34%),cough(105 cases,38.32%),expectoration of white sputum(89 cases,32.48%),and irritability and distress(87 cases,31.75%).(3)Multivariate linear regression analysis after variable adjustment suggested that the overall symptomatic severity in the male was milder than that in the female[β=-1.67,95%CI(-2.67,-0.68),P<0.001],and symptom score was positively correlated with age[β=0.07,95%CI(0.03,0.10),P<0.001],history of exposure to secondhand smoke[β=1.27,95%CI(0.26,2.27),P=0.015],history of exposure to other hazardous substances[β=1.96,95%CI(0.39,3.53),P=0.015],and history of allergy[β=2.38,95%CI(1.22,3.54),P<0.001]significantly.Conclusion The overall symptoms of patients with pulmonary nodules in Lingnan area are mild,and the high prevalence of symptoms are fatigue,cough,expectoration of white sputum,and irritability and distress.The symptom severity is correlated with gender,age,history of exposure to secondhand smoke,history of exposure to other hazardous substances,and history of allergy.

Objective:To investigate the iodine nutrition status of children aged 8 to 10 years old in Nanchang City.Methods:From March 2020 to September 2022, 9 counties (districts, administration bureau) in Nanchang City were selected as monitoring points. Each monitoring point was divided into 5 sampling areas according to the east, west, south, north, and middle directions. One township was selected from each area, and 40 non-boarding children aged 8 to 10 years old (age balanced, half male and half female) from one primary school were selected as survey subjects. Edible salt samples from children's homes, as well as a random urine sample were collected to detect salt iodine and urinary iodine level. The thyroid volume of children was also measured.Results:From 2020 to 2022, a total of 5 400 edible salt samples from children's homes were tested, with a median salt iodine level of 24.13 mg/kg. Among them, there were 5 172 qualified iodized salt samples, 168 unqualified iodized salt samples, and 60 non-iodized salt samples. The coverage rate of iodized salt was 98.89% (5 340/5 400), the qualified rate of iodized salt was 96.85% (5 172/5 340), and the consumption rate of qualified iodized salt was 95.78% (5 172/5 400). A total of 5 400 children's urine samples were tested, with a median urinary iodine level of 210.90 μg/L. A total of 2 662 children were examined for thyroid, of which 4 had thyroid enlargement, with an enlargement rate of 0.15% (4/2 662).Conclusion:The overall iodine nutrition of children aged 8 to 10 years old in Nanchang City is at a super appropriate level, and the thyroid enlargement rate meets the national standard (< 5%).

OBJECTIVES: White matter hyperintensity (WMH) is an important factor leading to cognitive impairment, and the mechanism has not been clarified. In recent years, studies have found that circular RNA (circRNA) has differential expression in cerebrovascular diseases. This study aims to analyze the expression profile of circRNA in peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) of patients with WMH with cognitive impairment, to screen the differentially expressed circRNA, and to explore the possible role of circRNA in WMH with cognitive impairment. METHODS: CircRNA microarray was used to detect the circRNA expression profile of PBMC in patients with WMH with cognitive impairment, and in patients with WMH without cognitive impairment as well as in normal controls (3 cases each, male to female ratio of 2꞉1). The differentially expressed circRNA in patients with WMH with cognitive impairment was screened. The screening criteria for differentially expressed circRNA was fold change (FC) ≥2.0 (|log RESULTS: Compared with the control group, there were 5 significantly up-regulated circRNA and 3 down-regulated circRNA in the WMH with cognitive impairment group; 8 circRNA were significantly up-regulated and 2 were down-regulated in the WMH without cognitive impairment group. When compared with the WMH with cognitive impairment group, no co-differentially expressed circRNA was found in WMH without cognitive impairment group and control group. Compared with the control group, the expression of hsa_circ_0092222 was up-regulated and the expressions of hsa_circ_0000662 and hsa_circ_0083773 were down-regulated in the WMH with cognitive impairment group and the WMH without cognitive impairment group, and there was no significant difference between the 2 groups (all CONCLUSIONS The circRNA expression profile of patients with WMH is changed significantly. The differentially expressed circRNA may be the cause of WMH; Hsa_circ_0092222, hsa_circ_0000662, and hsa_circ_0083773 may regulate the expression of target genes by targeting adsorption of the target miRNA, leading to brain white matter damage through Janus kinase 2 (JAK2)/signal transducers and activators of transcription (STAT3) signal pathway and Wnt signal pathway.There is no significant difference in circRNA expression profile between WMH with or without cognitive impairment. Cognitive impairment in patients with WMH may have other reasons.

Objective:To evaluate the safety of two inactivated COVID-19 vaccines in a large-scale emergency use.Methods:Based on the "Vaccination Information Collection System", the incidence data of adverse reactions in the population vaccinated with the inactivated COVID-19 vaccines developed by Beijing Institute of Biological Products Co., Ltd and Wuhan Institute of Biological Products Co., Ltd, respectively, in emergency use were collected, and the relevant information were analyzed with descriptive epidemiological and statistical methods.Results:By December 1, 2020, the vaccination information of 519 543 individuals had been collected. The overall incidence rate of adverse reactions was 1.06%, the incidence rate of systemic adverse reactions was 0.69% and the incidence rate of local adverse reactions was 0.37%. The main systemic adverse reactions included fatigue, headache, fever, cough and loss of appetite with the incidence rates of 0.21%, 0.14%, 0.06%, 0.05% and 0.05%, respectively; the main local adverse reactions were injection site pain and injection site swelling with the incidence rates of 0.24% and 0.05%, respectively.Conclusion:The two inactivated COVID-19 vaccines by Beijing Institute of Biological Products Co., Ltd and Wuhan Institute of Biological Products Co., Ltd showed that in the large-scale emergency use, the incidence rate of general reactions was low and no serious adverse reactions were observed after the vaccinations, demonstrating that the vaccines have good safety.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the clinicopathological characteristics, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of patients with primary gastric adenosquamous cell carcinoma.

METHODSA total of 5 562 patients with gastric neoplasm were admitted in Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital from January 2001 to January 2011. Among them 42 patients were diagnosed as primary gastric adenosquamous cell carcinoma, accounting for 0.76% of all the patients. The clinicopathological and follow-up data of these 42 patients with primary gastric adenosquamous cell carcinoma were retrospectively analyzed, and Cox proportional hazard model was used to analyze the prognostic factors of gastric adenocarcinoma squamous cell carcinoma.

RESULTSAmong above 42 patients, 32 were male and 10 were female, with a male-to-female ratio of 3.2/1.0 and the average age was 63 years (range: 46 to 77 years). Five patients (11.9%) were confirmed as adenosquamous cell carcinoma by preoperative pathological examination, while other 37 patients were diagnosed as adenocarcinoma preoperatively. According to the 7th edition AJCC TNM classification system for gastric adenocarcinoma, 5 patients (11.9%) were in stage II(, 30 patients (71.4%) in stage III( and 7 patients (16.7%) in stage IIII(. The maximum tumor diameter was > 5 cm in 18 patients (42.9%). Borrmann type III(-IIII( was found in 29 patients (69.0%), and poorly differentiated (or undifferentiated) tumor was found in 32 patients (76.2%). Radical operations were performed in 31 patients (73.8%), the reasons of non radical operations included infiltration of pancreas in 3 patients, infiltration of radices mesocili transvers in 1 patient and classification of stage IIII( in 7 patients. Lymph node dissection was performed in 37 patients, 83.8% of them (31/37) was found with lymphatic metastases. Twenty-five patients received adjuvant chemotherapy except for 7 patients in stage IIII( and 10 patients who refused adjuvant chemotherapy. All the patients had an average survival time of 36.4 months and median survival time of 28.0 months, and the overall 1-, 3- and 5-year survival rates were 82.2%, 42.3% and 18.2% respectively. Univariate analysis revealed that tumor size (χ=4.039, P=0.044), Borrmann type (χ=18.728, P=0.000), tumor differentiation (χ=19.612, P=0.000), radical gastectomy (χ=41.452, P=0.000), lymph node metastasis (χ=9.689, P=0.002) and clinical stage (χ=26.277, P=0.000) were associated with postoperative survival. Multivariate analysis revealed that tumor differentiation (HR=10.560, 95%CI:2.263-49.281, P=0.003), radical gastrectomy (HR=4.309, 95%CI:1.311-14.168, P=0.016) and clinical stage (HR=2.392, 95%CI:1.022-5.600, P=0.044) were independent prognosis factors.

CONCLUSIONSPrimary gastric adenosquamous cell carcinoma is rare with poor prognosis. Radical gastrectomy is recommended. Tumor differentiation, radical gastrectomy and clinical stage are important indicators to evaluate prognosis of primary gastric adenosquamous cell carcinoma.

Objective To explore the FOXP3-related mechanism underlying head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.Methods We used cbioportal to identify the co-expressed genes of FOXP3 in 279 samples from head and neck squamous cell carcinoma in TCGA database.We used String database to establish the co-expression network of FOXP3.The function of co-expression network was identified through DAVID database.We used miRTarBase and StarBase database to screen the microRNA,lncRNA and circRNA that regulate FOXP3.Finally,Cytoscape software was used to establish FOXP3-related ceRNA network.Results We found 950 FOXP3 related co-expressed gene.(Spearman score over 0.5) These genes were enriched in immune response including T cell,leukocyte and lymphocyte activation.CeRNA network revealed that 2 microRNAs (i.e.,miR-31-5p and miR-210-3p),42 lncRNAs (e.g.,XIST,TUG1,JRK and LINC00473) and 31 circRNAs (e.g.,ZNF223 _hsa_ circ_ 000898 and ISY1 _hsa _circ _001090) could regulate FOXP3.Conclusion We established FOXP3-related ceRNA network and identified 42 lncRNAs and 31 circRNAs that regulate FOXP3.The data generated from this study could provide a new cut point in research and treatment of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.

'Social beings' model of standardized training program for residents in Shanghai is one of the important measures in the health care reform. According to the requirements of the standardized training of residents in thoracic surgery, the article preliminarily explored the standardized training model for residents from four aspects such as individualized treatment of different professional backgrounds, focus-ing on the training needs of residents with different starting point of social beings, developing training programs for different training time and combining the master's degree graduate education. And based on the characteristics of thoracic surgery, it also summed up the past experience and explored the clinical practice teaching.

Objective To find out the expression relation between TP53 and NOTCH1,and to explore their effects in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.Methods Obtained the differentially expressed genes data of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma from 279 samples in TCGA database.Analyzed the co-expression relation between TP53 and NOTCH1 through Pearson and Spearman method.Cbioportal was used to analyze their co-expressed genes.Establish the co-expression network of TP53 and NOTCH1 with String database.The pathway and function of co-expression network was identified through KEGG and DAVID database respectively.Results Among the 279 samples,TP53 and NOTCH1 was co-expressed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.(Pearson score =0.45;Spearman score =0.41) There were 182 interaction pairs of TP53 and NOTCH1 related co-expressed gene according to the String database.(Pearson and Spearman score ＞ 0.3)These genes were enriched in some pathways such as T cell receptor signaling pathway,cell cycle,cell adhesion molecules and so on.These genes were enriched in some tumor related function including immune response,regulation of transposition,regulation of apoptotic process,cell cycle,regulation of GTPase activity and so on.Conclusion TP53 and NOTCH1 was co-expressed.Through establishing co-expressed network of TP53 and NOTCH1 and bioinformatics analysis,their function and signaling pathway were explored.The data generated from this study could provide a new reference in mechanism research of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
