Objective:
To explore the association between meat consumption and anxiety symptoms in first year junior high school students in Yunnan Province, and to provide theoretical support for preventing and relieving anxiety symptoms in junior high school students.
Methods:
From October to December 2022, a random cluster sampling method was used to select 8 500 first year junior high school students from 11 counties in Yunnan Province as the survey subjects for a questionnaire survey. The study used Food Frequency Questionnaire and the Chinese version of the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale-21 (DASS-21) to assess the meat consumption and anxiety symptoms of junior high school students. The distribution differences in anxiety symptoms among first year junior high school students with different demographic characteristics were analyzed statistically by using the Chi-square test, and the association between meat consumption and anxiety symptoms in students was analyzed by using a generalized linear model.
Results:
The detection rate of anxiety symptoms was 48.47%. After controlling for demographic variables and confounding factors, the consumption of livestock meat, poultry meat, processed meat, cured meat, barbecued meat and raw skin meat was statistically significant with anxiety symptoms ( β =-0.05, 0.04, 0.04, 0.08, 0.14, 0.17, all P <0.05). Stratified by ethnicity, The consumption of livestock meat, cured meat and barbecue was statistically correlated with anxiety symptoms in Han adolescents ( β =-0.07, 0.14, 0.22 ); the consumption of processed meat and raw skin meat was statistically correlated with anxiety symptoms in ethnic minority adolescents ( β =0.08, 0.18) (all P <0.05).
Conclusions
There is a statistical association between meat comsumption and the risk of anxiety symptoms in first year junior high school students in Yunnan Province. Guidance on meat consumption should be strengthened to prevent the occurrence of anxiety symptoms.

Objective To establish a fluorescent recombinase-aided amplification (RAA) assay for detection of Strongyloides stercoralis nucleic acid and to preliminarily evaluate its performance. Methods Six sets of specific primers targeting S. stercoralis 18S ribosomal RNA (18S rRNA) gene and one fluorescent probe were designed and synthesized. The optimal primer-probe set was determined through systematic screening and optimization to establish the fluorescent RAA assay. The assay was evaluated using S. stercoralis genomic DNA at concentrations of 100, 10, and 1 pg/μL, and 100, 10, and 1 fg/μL, as well as recombinant pUC57 plasmids containing the target gene fragments at 1 × 105, 1 × 104, 1 × 103, 1 × 102, 1 × 101, 1 × 100 copies/reaction, to determine the analytical sensitivity. Genomic DNA from Ascaris lumbricoides, Ancylostoma duodenale, Enterobius vermicularis, Angiostrongylus cantonensis, Trichinella spiralis, Clonorchis sinensis, Schistosoma japonicum, and Taenia saginata was used to assess assay specificity. A total of 25 stool samples from patients suspected of S. stercoralis infection were tested by the modified Baermann funnel technique, PCR, and the established fluorescent RAA assay. The sensitivity, specificity, concordance rate and their 95% confidence intervals (CI) of these three techniques were estimated, and agreement between methods was evaluated using the Kappa coefficient. Results Exo-4 was identified as the optimal primer set screened from the six primer sets, and the best amplification performance was achieved when the final concentrations of the forward and reverse primers were 0.44 μmol/L and a probe concentration was 0.20 μmol/L. The limit of detection of the fluorescent RAA assay was 100 fg/μL for genomic DNA of S. stercoralis and 1 × 100 copies/reaction for recombinant plasmids. Specific fluorescence signals were detected within 5 min, with no cross-reactivity observed with A. lumbricoides, A. duodenale, E. vermicularis, A. cantonensis, T. spiralis, C. sinensis, S. japonicum, or T. saginata. Among the 25 clinical stool samples from patients suspected of S. stercoralis infections, the modified Baermann funnel technique and fluorescent RAA assay detected 19 positives and 6 negatives, whereas PCR detected 18 positives and 7 negatives. The fluorescent RAA assay showed a sensitivity of 100.00% [95% CI: (82.35%, 100.00%)], specificity of 100.00% [95% CI: (54.07%, 100.00%)], concordance rate of 100.00% [95% CI: (86.28%, 100.00%)], and a Kappa coefficient of 1.00 [95% CI: (1.00, 1.00)] (P < 0.001) relative to the modified Baermann funnel technique, and a sensitivity of 100.00% [95% CI: (81.47%, 100.00%)], specificity of 85.71% [95% CI: (42.13%, 99.64%)], concordance rate of 96.00% [95% CI: (79.65%, 99.90%)], and a Kappa coefficient of 0.90 [95% CI: (0.70, 1.00)] (P < 0.001). Positive amplification products emitted green fluorescence under a portable blue-light device, enabling visual interpretation of results. Conclusions The fluorescent RAA assay established in this study is rapid, highly sensitive, and highly specific. It enables detection of S. stercoralis nucleic acid under isothermal conditions and allows visual interpretation of results, providing a novel tool for rapid clinical diagnosis and field screening of S. stercoralis infections.

ObjectiveTo observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture combined with bloodletting and cupping in the treatment of chronic spontaneous urticaria(CSU) and to explore its potential mechanisms of action. MethodsSeventy CSU patients were randomly divided into loratadine group and acupuncture + bloodletting group, with 35 patients in each group. The loratadine group received oral loratadine tablets, 10 mg once daily in the evening. The acupuncture + bloodletting group received acupuncture at Zhongwan (CV 12), Guanyuan (CV 4), Tianshu (ST 25), Zusanli (ST 36), Sanyinjiao (SP 6), Xuehai (SP 10), Quchi (LI 11), Hegu (LI 4), Taichong (LR 3), Baihui (GV 20), and Shenting (GV 24), once daily, along with bloodletting and cupping at Dazhui (GV 14) and Geshu (BL 17), every other day. Both groups were treated for 4 weeks. The 7-day urticaria activity score(UAS7) was assessed before and after the treatment, and levels of serum immunoglobulin E (IgE), interleukin-4 (IL-4), interleukin-5 (IL-5), eosinophil cationic protein (ECP), plasma tissue factor (TF), activated factor Ⅶ (FⅦa), prothrombin fragment 1+2 (F1+2), D-dimer (D-D) and complement component 5a (C5a) were detected. ResultsA total of 65 patients were included in the final analysis, 32 in the loratadine group and 33 in the acupuncture + bloodletting group. Before treatment, there was no significant difference in UAS7 score, serum IgE, IL-4, IL-5, ECP levels, or plasma TF, FⅦa, F1+2, D-D, C5a levels between groups (P> 0.05). After treatment, both groups showed significant reductions in UAS7 score, serum IgE, IL-4, IL-5, and plasma TF, FⅦa, F1+2, D-D, and C5a levels compared to those before treatment (P<0.01). However, after treatment, there was no significant difference in UAS7 score and serum ECP, IgE, IL-4, IL-5 levels between groups (P>0.05). The acupuncture + bloodletting group showed lower plasma TF, FⅦa, F1+2, D-D and C5a levels compared to the loratadine group (P<0.05 or P<0.01). ConclusionAcupuncture combined with bloodletting and cupping can effectively improve the skin symptoms of CSU patients and reduce the levels of inflammatory factors. The potential mechanism of action may involve the regulation of the coagulation-complement-mast cell activation axis, thereby inhibiting mast cell degranulation.

After continuous development and improvement, lung transplantation has become the preferred means to treat a variety of benign end-stage lung diseases. However, the field of lung transplantation still faces many challenges, including shortage of donor resources, preservation and maintenance of donor lungs, and postoperative complications. Lung tissue samples removed after lung transplantation are excellent clinical resources for the study of benign end-stage lung disease and perioperative complications of lung transplantation. However, at present, the collection, storage and utilization of tissue samples after lung transplantation are limited to a single study, and unified technical specifications have not been formed. Based on the construction plan of the biobank for lung transplantation in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University, this study reviewed the practical experience in the collection, storage and utilization of lung transplant tissue samples in the aspects of ethical review, staffing, collection process, storage method, quality control and efficient utilization, in order to provide references for lung transplant related research.

Recently, continuing medical education has made progress under the support of national policies. However, the exploration of continuing medical education has overlooked the concept of non-technical skills. The lack of training in non-technical skills has become increasingly prominent, which seriously restricts the development of medical education. Drawing on the developmental trajectory and curriculum design experiences of non-technical skill training in Europe and the United States, this study examines the current situation and the problems of non-technical skill training in China. By establishing an effective curriculum support system to enhance engagement, improving the training process for non-technical skills to optimize the curriculum structure, and focusing on faculty cultivation targets to establish admission standards, this study aims to promote the steady and healthy advancement of non-technical skill training, and achieve a "win-win" situation in terms of patient safety and the sustainable development of continuing medical education.

Aim To investigate the potential role and related mechanisms of protein phosphatase 2Cm(PP2Cm)overexpression in atorvastatin-induced insu-lin resistance. Methods Male C57BL/6J mice,fibro-blast growth factor 21 knockout(FGF21-KO)mice,and wildtype(WT)mice were raised for 12 weeks to construct models.Groups included atorvastatin,con-trol,atorvastatin+PP2Cm overexpression(OE),FGF21-KO+vehicle,FGF21-KO+PP2Cm OE,WT+vehicle,WT+PP2Cm OE.Body weight, fasting blood glucose levels, fasting insulin levels, and intraperitoneal glucose tolerance tests(IPGTT)were measured in 4,8 and 12 weeks. The concentrations of branched-chain a-mino acids(BCAA)in cells, tissues and serum,as well as the mRNA and protein expression of BCAA cat-abolic enzymes, were determined by qRT-PCR,Western blot and ELISA after atorvastatin treatment.Further-more,the effects of PP2Cm overexpression on these in-dicators were explored, and the FGF21 was verified in vivo and in vitro. Results Atorvastatin induced insu-lin resistance in mice, altered insulin, glucose tolerance and increased BCAA levels.PP2Cm overexpression mitigated these changes. In the Atorvastatin+PP2Cm OE group,FGF21 mRNA,protein and concentration were all significantly upregulated.Regardless of PP2Cm overexpression, the knockout of FGF21 signifi-cantly increased BCAA expression levels, both fasting insulin and blood glucose levels were significantly high-er than those in WT group. Conclusions FGF21 may be an important regulator of PP2Cm involved in atorv-astatin-induced insulin resistance.PP2Cm overexpres-sion alleviates the effects of atorvastatin-induced insulin resistance by regulating FGF21.

Objective:To summarize the clinical data of single-center juvenile dermatomyositis(JDM)complicated with interstitial lung disease(ILD),and provide experience for pediatricians. Methods:Data of 61 children with JDM who were admitted to Children's Hospital affiliated to Xi'an Jiaotong University from January 2016 to May 2023 were collected. General data, clinical symptoms, chest high-resolution CT,laboratory examination and myositis antibody spectrum of the children were recorded. Results:Among the 61 children with JDM,there were 30 cases(13 males and 17 females)without ILD. The age of onset was 5.96(3.50,8.92)years and the course of disease was(11.79±20.00)months. There were 31 cases with ILD(14 males and 17 females),the age of onset was 7.42(4.50,10.08)years,and the duration of ILD was(5.47±8.09)months. There was statistical difference in the course of disease between the two groups( P<0.05),but no statistical difference in gender and age between the two groups( P>0.05). Among 61 children with JDM,there were statistical differences in fever between the two groups( P<0.05),but no statistical differences in heliotrope discoloration, gottron’s papules, calcinosis and myasthenia between the two groups( P>0.05). AST and FER showed statistical difference between the two groups( P<0.05),while CK,LDH,CK-MB,ESR,C3 and C4 showed no statistical difference( P>0.05). All 61 cases of children were tested for myositis antibody spectrum, and there was statistical difference in anti-MDA5 antibody between the two groups( P<0.05),but no statistical difference in the rest( P>0.05). There were statistical differences between the two groups in the treatment of methotrexate, hydroxychloroquine and cyclophosphamide( P<0.05). A total of 11 cases(36.67%)in the without ILD group were treated with biologics(8 adalimumab,2 infliximab and 1 tofacitinib),and 23 cases(74.19%)in the ILD group were treated with biologics(11 adalimumab,9 tofaciib,2 infliximab and 1 tocilizumab). All 61 cases with JDM were followed up. Among the 30 children without ILD,1 case was lost to follow-up 2 months after treatment, and the rest were treated effectively without death. Among the 31 children with ILD,3 cases died of severe pulmonary infection with multidrug-resistant bacteria during treatment,of which 1 case was positive for anti-MDA5 antibody and 2 cases were negative for myositis specific antibody. Conclusion:JDM is more likely to be complicated with ILD,fever is more likely to occur in ILD group, and children with positive anti-MDA5 antibody are more likely to occur ILD. Biologic agents such as adalimumab and tofacitinib are effective in combination therapy. In the course of treatment,multi-drug resistant bacteria infection should be guarded against to reduce mortality.

Objective:To investigate the value of nomogram model based on CT features in differentiating ectopic pancreas (EP) from gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) with a long diameter less than 3 cm.Methods:This study was a case-control study. The clinical and imaging data of 43 patients with EP and 90 patients with GIST confirmed by pathology in the Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University from August 2013 to March 2024 were retrospectively analyzed. Preoperative CT images were analyzed to obtain qualitative features (number of lesions, location, morphology, growth pattern, borders, cystic degeneration, calcification, ulceration, catheter sign, central umbilication) and quantitative features (lesion long diameter, short diameter, long/short diameter, lesion and normal pancreas arterial-phase and venous-phase CT values, and enhancement ratio). Statistical analyses, including independent sample t-tests, Mann-Whitney U tests, χ2 tests, and Fisher exact tests, were performed to compare CT characteristics between the two groups. Binary logistic regression analysis was used to obtain independent predictors to identify the two groups, to establish a joint model, and to draw a nomogram. The discriminative performance of the independent predictors and the combined model was assessed using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves, while calibration curves were used to evaluate model fit. Results:The differences in age, location, morphology, border, catheter sign, central umbilication, short diameter, long/short diameter, arteriovenous phase enhancement CT value and arteriovenous phase enhancement ratio were statistically significant between the EP group and the GIST group (all P<0.05). The logistic analysis showed that the differences in age ( OR=0.920, 95% CI 0.885-0.956, P<0.001), border ( OR=5.994, 95% CI 2.111-17.022, P=0.001), long/short diameter ( OR=7.820, 95% CI 1.841-33.224, P=0.005), and venous phase enhancement ratio ( OR=8.847, 95% CI 1.103-70.972, P=0.040) were the independent predictors for distinguishing EP from GIST, and the area under the ROC curve (AUC) were 0.782 (95% CI 0.698-0.866), 0.684 (95% CI 0.600-0.767), 0.705 (95% CI 0.607-0.803), and 0.693 (95% CI 0.605-0.781), respectively. Combined age, border, long diameter/short diameter and venous phase enhancement ratio were plotted in a nomogram with an AUC of 0.881 (95% CI 0.817-0.945), sensitivity and specificity of 74.4% and 93.3%, respectively. The calibration curve demonstrated a strong agreement between predicted and actual probabilities (Hosmer-Lemeschow test, P=0.267). Conclusions:CT imaging reveals significant differences between EP and small GISTs (<3 cm). EP is more likely when patients are younger and lesions exhibit indistinct borders, a higher long-to-short diameter ratio, and greater venous-phase enhancement. The nomogram derived from CT features provides a valuable tool for differentiating EP from GIST.
