This paper summarizes professor ZHU Shengliang's academic idea and clinical experience in treating gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) with qi constraint and phlegm obstruction syndrome. It is believed that the core pathogenesis of GERD is the dysfunction of the liver, gallbladder, spleen and stomach, with binding of phlegm and stasis. The basic pathogenesis is the liver and gallbladder failing to dredge and disperse, the stomach failing to harmonize and descend, and the stomach qi counterflowing upward. In clinical practice, the treatment principle of regulating qi as the priority, resolving phlegm as the key, and activating blood as the assistant is applied, with harmonizing the stomach and directing counterflow downward throughout the whole process. A self-made Shugan Hewei Huatan Formula (疏肝和胃化痰方) is employed with the function of soothing the liver and rectifying qi, opening constraint and dissipating knot, dissolving phlegm and dispelling stasis, harmonizing stomach and directing counterflow downward, with an emphasis on flexible modification according to the syndrome as well as careful protection of stomach qi.

AIM:This study aims to investigate the synergistic cytotoxic effects of chrysin and venetoclax on acute myeloid leukemia(AML)cells and to elucidate the underlying mechanisms.METHODS:Human AML cell lines MV411 and MOLM13 were cultured in vitro and treated with chrysin in combination with venetoclax.Cell viability was as-sessed using the CCK8 assay, while flow cytometry was employed to measure cell cycle distribution and apoptosis rates.Western blot was used to detect the expression of apoptosis-related proteins and protein kinase B(PKB/Akt)/nuclear factor-κB(NF-κB)signaling pathway-related proteins.RESULTS:The results from the CCK8 assay and flow cytometry demon-strated that treatment with 16 and 32 μmol/L chrysin significantly inhibited the viability of AML cells and increased the proportion of cells in G1 phase,as well as the apoptosis rate.Notably, the cells in combination treatment group exhibited a marked reduction in proliferation and an elevated apoptosis rate compared with either chrysin or venetoclax group alone.Western blot analysis indicated that increasing concentrations of chrysin led to an elevation in cleaved poly(ADP-ribose)polymerase(PARP)level,alongside a down-regulation of proteins associated with the Akt/NF-κB signaling pathway.Fur-thermore,the combination treatment significantly up-regulated cleaved PARP level and down-regulated Akt/NF-κB path-way-related proteins compared with the treatment with chrysin or venetoclax alone.CONCLUSION:Chrysin and veneto-clax synergistically inhibit the proliferation of AML cells and promote apoptosis by modulating the Akt/NF-κB signaling pathway.
4.Early screening and risk factors for stroke-related sarcopenia
Journal of Apoplexy and Nervous Diseases 2025;42(5):454-458
Objective To investigate the incidence rate of sarcopenia and related risk factors in patients with stroke. Methods A retrospective analysis was performed for the patients with stroke who were admitted to the stroke center of a grade A tertiary hospital in Changchun, China, from March 2023 to June 2024. The method of bioelectrical impedance was used to perform body composition analysis for all patients on day(7.0±1.0)after admission, and the incidence rate of stroke-related sarcopenia was analyzed. A binary logistic regression analysis was used to investigate the risk factors for stroke-related sarcopenia. Results A total of 666 patients were included in the study, among whom 150(22.5%) developed sarcopenia (95%CI 0.193‒ 0.257). Low body mass index, low phase angle, low triglyceride, advanced age, and low Barthel index were risk factors for the early onset of sarcopenia in patients with stroke. Conclusion There is a relatively high incidence rate of sarcopenia in stroke patients, with complex influencing factors. Medical staff should pay more attention to the elderly stroke patients, as well as those patients with emaciation, low phase angle, low triglyceride, and limited activities of daily living. Early nutritional supplementation and functional exercise can help to prevent the onset of stroke-related sarcopenia.

Objective:To analyze the predictive value of the prognostic nutritional index combined with inflammatory indicators for clinical outcomes in patients with ischemic stroke, providing a basis for targeted therapeutic interventions and nursing care for patients at potential risk of poor outcomes. Methods:This retrospective cohort study recruited 424 ischemic stroke patients admitted to the Stroke Center of the First Hospital of Jilin University from June 2021 to May 2024 by the convenience sampling method. Collect the general demographic data, routine laboratory examination results within 24 hours of admission, as well as the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) scores at admission and discharge of the patients. Based on 3-month functional outcomes, patients were divided into a favorable prognosis group and a poor prognosis group. Univariate analysis, least absolute shrinkage and selection operator regression, and binary Logistic regression were employed to screen predictive variables and develop a nomogram model. Internal validation was performed using the Bootstrap method. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve, calibration curve, and decision curve were drew to evaluate the predictive performance of the model. Results:The favorable prognosis group comprised 256 patients, including 57 females and 199 males, with an age of 61(54, 68) years. The poor prognosis group included 168 patients, with 55 females and 113 males, and an age of 66(58, 72) years. Binary Logistic regression identified age, sex, hyperlipidemia, NIHSS score at discharge, prognostic nutritional index, systemic inflammatory response index, and systemic immune-inflammation index as independent predictors of prognosis in ischemic stroke patients ( χ2 values were 4.52-56.18, all P<0.05). The prediction model demonstrated the area under the curve of ROC of 0.806 (95% CI 0.764-0.849), with an optimal cutoff value of 0.406, achieving specificity of 78% and sensitivity of 68%. The Hosmer-Lemeshow test yielded a non-significant P>0.05, and the calibration curve showed good agreement between predicted and observed outcomes, with a mean absolute error of 0.012. Decision curve analysis confirmed the clinical utility of the model across a wide range of threshold probabilities. Conclusions:The integrated prognostic model combining the prognostic nutritional index and inflammatory indicators demonstrated favorable discriminative ability, robust calibration, and substantial clinical utility. This risk stratification tool shows high applicability for predicting ischemic stroke outcomes, facilitating early identification of high-risk patients with poor prognosis and guiding personalized intervention strategies.

BACKGROUND:Steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head is a key risk factor for non-traumatic femoral head necrosis, and the incidence of it has gradually increased in recent years, but its specific pathogenesis is still unclear, and finding a reasonable animal model is essential for disease research and treatment.OBJECTIVE:To review the commonly used animal models of steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head in recent years, and to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of different modeling methods and evaluation criteria,so as to provide a reference for follow-up research. METHODS:The articles published from 2013 to 2023 were searched in CNKI,WanFang Data, and PubMed with the keywords "femoral head necrosis, osteonecrosis of the femoral head,steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head, animal model." Finally,61 articles were involved for comprehensive analysis according to the inclusion criteria, including 38 English articles and 23 Chinese articles.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1) Rabbits, rats, and chickens are the animals that are widely used in the study of steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head models. (2) Hormone combined with lipopolysaccharide or horse serum modeling has low mortality, high success rate, and strong stability. (3) Histopathology is the gold standard for the evaluation model, but the experiment needs to be terminated, which is not conducive to subsequent experimental research,so finding a non-invasive alternative method is still the direction of future efforts. (4) An ideal model of steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head has not yet been explored, and future researchers need to continue to strive to achieve breakthroughs in this field as soon as possible.

Chinese Journal of Modern Nursing 2025;31(19):2625-2630
Objective:To explore the current status of self-advocacy and its influencing factors in young and middle-aged cervical cancer patients using the relationship focus model as a theoretical basis, with a view to providing a basis for the development of interventions. Methods:From January to July 2024, 250 young and middle-aged postoperative cervical cancer patients in the Department of Gynecology of Shanxi Cancer Hospital were selected for the study using convenience sampling method. General Information Questionnaire, Female Self-Advocacy Scale in Cancer Survivorship (FSACS), Perceived Partner Responsiveness Scale (PPRS), and Marriage Adjustment Test (MAT) were used to survey the patients. Multiple linear regression was used to analyze the influencing factors. Results:A total of 250 questionnaires were distributed and 238 valid questionnaires were recovered, with a valid recovery rate of 95.2%. The total scores of FSACS, PPRS, and MAT in young and middle-aged cervical cancer patients were (77.10±9.81), (46.65±11.00), and (95.00±17.38), respectively. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that age, educational level, per capita monthly household income, perceived partner responsiveness, and marital relationship were the influencing factors of self-advocacy among young and middle-aged cervical cancer patients ( P<0.05), explaining 33.8% of the variation. Conclusions:The self-advocacy among young and middle-aged cervical cancer patients needs to be improved. Attention should be paid to young and middle-aged cervical cancer patients who are old, have low educational levels, and have low per capita monthly household incomes. It is also important to provide joint interventions for patients and their spouses to improve their perceived partner responsiveness and marital relationships, thereby enhancing their self-advocacy.
