Objective To explore the feasibility and reference value of allogeneic lung transplantation and postoperative monitoring in miniature pigs for lung transplantation research. Methods Two miniature pigs (R1 and R2) underwent left lung allogeneic transplantation. Complement-dependent cytotoxicity tests and blood cross-matching were performed before surgery. The main operative times and partial pressure of arterial oxygen (PaO₂) after opening the pulmonary artery were recorded during surgery. Postoperatively, routine blood tests, biochemical blood indicators and inflammatory factors were detected, and pathological examinations of multiple organs were conducted. Results The complement-dependent cytotoxicity test showed that the survival rate of lymphocytes between donors and recipients was 42.5%-47.3%, and no agglutination reaction occurred in the cross-matching. The first warm ischemia times of D1 and D2 were 17 min and 10 min, respectively, and the cold ischemia times were 246 min and 216 min, respectively. Ultimately, R1 and R2 survived for 1.5 h and 104 h, respectively. Postoperatively, in R1, albumin (ALB) and globulin (GLB) decreased, and alanine aminotransferase increased; in R2, ALB, GLB and aspartate aminotransferase all increased. Urea nitrogen and serum creatinine increased in both recipients. Pathological results showed that in R1, the transplanted lung had partial consolidation with inflammatory cell infiltration, and multiple organs were congested and damaged. In R2, the transplanted lung had severe necrosis with fibrosis, and multiple organs had mild to moderate damage. The expression levels of interleukin-1β and interleukin-6 increased in the transplanted lungs. Conclusions The allogeneic lung transplantation model in miniature pigs may systematically evaluate immunological compatibility, intraoperative function and postoperative organ damage. The data obtained may provide technical references for subsequent lung transplantation research.

Objective:To explore the short-term therapeutic outcomes of femoral neck fractures fixated by Femoral Neck System (FNS).Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted of the 16 patients with femoral neck fracture who had been admitted to the Department of Traumatology & Orthopedics, The Second Affiliated Hospital to Anhui Medical University from January to December 2019. They were 6 males and 10 females, aged from 24 to 69 years (average, 47.5 years). According to the Garden Classification, there were 3 cases of type Ⅱ, 7 cases of type Ⅲ, and 6 cases of type Ⅳ. All the 16 patients were fixated with FNS. Recorded were operation time, frequency of intraoperative fluoroscopy, intraoperative blood loss, quality of postoperative fracture reduction, hospital stay, fracture healing time, and efficacy and complications at the last follow-up.Results:The 16 patients were followed up for 5 to 16 months after operation (average, 9.3 months). According to the Garden indexes, fracture reduction was evaluated as satisfactory in all the 16 patients. The operation time in this group ranged from 25 to 115 min with an average of 41.5 min, the frequency of intraoperative fluoroscopy from 14 to 47 times with an average of 26 times, the intraoperative blood loss from 35 to 210 mL with an average of 76 mL, the hospital stay from 3 to 9 days with an average of 4.6 days, and the fracture healing time from 3 to 6 months with an average of 4.5 months. By the Harris hip scores at the last follow-up, the function of the affected hip was rated as excellent in 10 cases, good in 5 and fair in one. Follow-ups revealed no complications like infection or implant loosening.Conclusions:The FNS is a new type of simple, reliable, safe and minimally invasive internal fixation for the treatment of femoral neck fractures. The plate, bolt, anti-rotation screws and locking screws in FNS can be inserted through a single minimally invasive incision, leading to reliable fixation, limited irritation to the lateral muscular soft tissues, and fine short-term outcomes.

ObjectiveTo analyze clinicopathological characteristics and treatment of male breast cancer (MBC) and the matched female breast cancer (FBC). To compare the survival difference between the 2 groups.To study the factors influencing the prognosis of MBC.Methods63 MBC patients treated in Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital from Jan.1995 to Dec.2008 were enrolled in this study.Each MBC patient in the database was matched with 2 FBC patients.The matching criteria were with similar age, diagnosis time, and TNM stage.Chi-square test and Fisher exact test were employed to compare the clinicopathologic characteristics of MBC and FBC.Kaplan-Meier method, Log-rank test, and Cox hazard regression model were employed respectively to make survival analysis, surival rate comparison and multivariate analysis.ResultsThe 10-year disease-free survival (DFS) rate was 53.9％ for men and 65.1％ for women (P =0.047).The 10-year overall survival (OS) rate was 61.9％ for men and 77％ for women (P =0.032).Univariate analysis showed TNM stage, surgical method and recurrence were factors influencing the prognosis of MBC patients. Multivariate analysis showed TNM stage was an independent factor influencing the prognosis of MBC patients.ConclusionsFBC patients had a better 10-year OS rate and DFS rate than MBC patients.TNM stage is an independent factor influencing the prognosis of MBC patients.

Objective To study the expression of nuclear factor-?Bp65 (NF-?Bp65) in gastric carcinoma and its relationship with vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). Methods The expression of NF-?Bp65 and VEGF in 56 gastric carcinomas was detected with immunohistochemistry and compared with benign tissues. Results The positive rates of NF-?Bp65 and VEGF in 56 gastric carcinomas were 62.5% and 76.8% respectively,and which were higher than those of gastric mucosal atypical hyperplasia (33.3% and 44.4%) and the normal gastric mucosa(0 and 8.3%) (P0.05). Objective To investigate cell-killing and bystander effects on gallbladder cancer (GBC-SD) cells transferred with double suicide genes (CD and HSV-tk). Methods CD and HSV-tk genes were transfected into PA317 cells using lipofectamine. GBC-SD cells were infected with viral supernatant. GBC-SD/CD+tk cells were treated with 5-FC and/or GCV. GBC-SD/CD+tk and GBC-SD were inoculated subcutaneously into the nude mice respectively and treated with GCV and 5-FC for 21 days. Results The killing effect of 5-FC and GCV in combination on GBC-SD/CD+tk cells is more effective than using 5-FC or GCV alone. The local bystander effect is significant while the distant bystander effect was not obvious. Conclusion The cell-killing efficacy of chemotherapy on GBC-SD transfected with double suicide gene was significantly increased, and the bystander effect was obvious.
