Wilson disease (WD) is a hereditary disorder of copper metabolism characterized by abnormal copper accumulation in tissues, including the liver and brain, which leads to severe hepatic and neurological damage. This disease is often accompanied by lipid metabolism abnormalities, and the exploration of related mechanisms has attracted increasing attention. This article introduces the clinical features of lipid metabolism disorders in WD patients, summarizes the research advances in the serum levels of lipids and hepatic steatosis, analyzes the potential mechanisms of the interaction between copper and lipid metabolism, and highlights the significance of lipid-related molecules in disease diagnosis and clinical evaluation. In clinical practice, the monitoring and assessment of lipid metabolism parameters should be taken seriously in patients with WD, in order to promote comprehensive disease management and improve the prognosis of patients.

Objective To explore the challenges faced by online appointment nurses during nasogastric intubation and to provide a reference for improvement of the quality and safety of the services provided by online appointment nursing. Methods A purposive sampling was employed to select 13 online appointment nurses from our hospital who had previously provided home nasogastric intubation services for patients.Semi-structured interviews were conducted with the online appointment nurses. The results acquired from the interviews were analysed using Colaizzi's method. Results Two themes were identified.Theme 1 covered the increased risks of nasogastric intubation due to the patients themselves and home environment, which included 4 sub-themes of difficulties in identification and response due to complex conditions of patient, high risk of a sudden asphyxia with poor resuscitation facility, psychological stress from unfamiliar home environment, and more challenges in risk identification due to limited conditions for performing home-based intubation procedures;Theme 2 covered the coping strategies of online-scheduled nurses, which included the improvement of knowledge and skills in emergency nursing to improve comfidence and judge ability of intubation, the strengthening of nurse-patient communication to build a trust and cooperation, the conduct of thorough assessment to ensure procedural safety, and the use of alternative tools and collaboration with family members. Conclusion Online appointment nurses face challenges and risks from both of the procedures and patients themselves during home based nasogastric intubation.Hospitals and relevant management should actively implement corresponding strategies, provide training and guidance for online appointment nurses, develop relevant regulations, and improve the management mechanisms of the internet platform to ensure the safety of home based nasogastric intubation for online appointment nurses and improve the quality of the"Internet Plus Nursing Services."

Objective To analyze the clinical significance of subjective visual vertical (SVV) tests at different head deflection angles in assessing utricle function in patients with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). Methods A total of 61 BPPV patients who were treated at the Hearing Impairment and Vertigo Diagnosis and Treatment Center of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Xinhua Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine from August 2022 to May 2023 were retrospectively included, and 29 healthy adults were selected as controls. SVV tests were performed on all research subjects at different head deflection angles: upright head (0°), left head 45° (L45°), right head 45° (R45°). The test results between the two groups were compared. Results SVV absolute value at R45° in BPPV group was lower than that in the control group (P=0.003); there was no significant difference in SVV values at 0° and L45° between the two groups. There was no statistical difference in SVV values at different head deflection angles between the control group and the left BPPV group. SVV absolute value at R45° in right BPPV group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.001); there was no statistical difference in SVV values at 0° and L45° between the two groups. Conclusions SVV test can provide subjective information about the utricle, and SVV tests at different head deflection angles can fine-tune evaluate the function of the utricle in BPPV patients.
