The elimination of biofilms is a crucial step in controlling hospital-acquired infections.Once biofilms colonize luminal instruments,it is difficult to remove them using traditional disinfection methods.Conventional disinfection approaches now face a series of challenges,including microbial resistance,corrosiveness,cytotoxicity,residual disinfection byproducts,and environmental pollution.Therefore,developing novel disinfection technologies specifically targeting biofilm removal is vitally important.New disinfection technologies,such as slightly acidic electrolyzed water,plasma technology,surface modification techniques,nanomaterial-based disinfection,bacteriophage disinfection,and enzymatic disinfection,are constantly emerging.These technologies exhibit excellent performance against biofilms by leveraging the synergistic effects of multiple mechanisms,including the reactive oxygen species(ROS)burst,photocatalytic oxidation,physical disruption,and biological targeting.This review summarizes the characteristics,underlying mechanisms,and potential application scenarios of these novel disinfection technologies,with a particular focus on their effects against biofilms formed by common pathogenic bacteria on surfaces in hospital settings.It aims to provide a reference basis for the practical application and translation of these disinfection technologies and the development of new disinfection strategies.

Gait deficits and balance disturbances are prevalent clinical features in Parkinson′s disease (PD). There is an increasing body of evidence pointing towards the degeneration of central cholinergic neurons as a crucial factor leading to these disturbances in PD. This paper presents a comprehensive review of the relevant research on the involvement of the central cholinergic system in the mechanisms underlying gait deficits and balance disturbance in PD. The aim is to provide new perspectives and insights for the treatment of gait deficits and balance disturbances in PD.

Objective:To establish the biology reference interval (RI) of peripheral blood procalcitonin (PCT) for children between 3 days and 6 years old in China.Methods:Totally 3 353 reference individuals with apparent health or no specific diseases were recruited in 18 hospitals throughout the country during October 2020 to May 2021. Reference individuals were divided into four groups: 3-28 days, 29 days - 1 year, 1-3 years and 4-6 years. Vein blood or capillary blood were collected by percutaneous puncture from every reference individual. The PCT level in serum and the capillary whole blood were assayed by Roche Cobas e601 and Norman NRM411-S7 immunoanalyzer. Outliers were deleted and 95th percentiles of every group were provided as RIs. Man-Whitney U test or Kruskal-Wallis test were used performed to assess the difference among different gender, age or method groups. Results:The difference of PCT distribution between male and female is not statistically significant, but the difference between serum and capillary whole blood is statistically significant. The differences between age groups are significant too. For Roche e601, serum PCT RI of 3-28 days group is <0.23 μg/L, 29 days - 6 years are <0.11 μg/L. For NRM411, Serum PCT RI of 3-28 days group is <0.21 μg/L, 29 days - 1 year: <0.09 μg/L, 1 - 6 years: <0.10 μg/L. For whole blood PCT, RI of 3-28 days group is <0.26 μg/L, 29 days - 6 years is <0.15 μg/L.Conclusions:Serum and capillary whole blood PCT have different RIs, however, capillary whole blood PCT testing is valuable in pediatric application. Children in 3-28 days show higher PCT levels than other age group. To establish the RIs and understand the differences among different groups are essential for the interpretation and clinical application of peripheral blood PCT testing results.

Objective: To investigate the role of PRDM1 gene inactivaion in the regulation of C-MYC in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), and to explore the correlation of its immunophenotype and prognosis. Methods: 100 cases paraffin-embedded DLBCL tissues were collected from January 2009 to December 2015 at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University along with 20 cases of reactive proliferative lymph nodes as control. Immunohistochemical methods were used to detect the expression of CD20, CD10, MUM1, Ki-67, bcl-6, PRDM1/Blimp1, C-MYC and PAX5 protein. The tumors were classified into two subtypes according to Hans classification.The expression of PRDM1 and C-MYC gene in tumor group and control group was detected by reverse transcription PCR (RT-PCR) and the relationship between PRDM1 and C-MYC gene was analyzed.OCI-LY1 (GCB subtype) and OCI-LY3 (non-GCB subtype) cell lines were transfected with small interfering RNA by cationic liposome reagent transfection, and the expression of C-MYC in the transfected cell lines was detected by RT-PCR and Western blot. The Kaplan-Meier method was used to analyze the prognostic significance of PRDM1/Blimp1 and C-MYC at protein and mRNA levels. Results: There were 27 cases of GCB subtype and 73 cases of non-GCB subtype according to Hans classification. The positive expression of Blimp1 in DLBCL group and proliferative lymph nodes in control group was seen in 26(26.0%) and 20 cases(100%), respectively. There were 58 cases with high expression of PRDM1 at mRNA level, including 22 cases of GCB subtype and 36 cases non-GCB subtype, and the difference was statistically significant (P=0.004). There were differences in PRDM1 gene expression between the two immunological subtypes, serum lactate dehydrogenase (serum LDH) level, presence of B symptoms, tumor primary sites and other clinical pathological parameters, while C-MYC expression was different in gender, IPI score, and serum LDH levels. Upon PRDM1/Blimp1 gene silencing in the two cell lines, C-MYC protein and gene expression were up-regulated in the transfection group, compared with the blank control group and negative control group by reverse transcription PCR and Western blot analyses. Moreover, PRDM1 expression was significantly associated with C-MYC(χ²=7.648, P=0.006) at mRNA level. Conclusion The up-regulation of C-MYC gene expression induced by PRDM1 inactivation in DLBCL may play an important role for the development of DLBCL.PRDM1 protein and mRNA are associated with immunophenotyping and PRDM1 mRNA is a marker of poor prognosis.

In order to deal with the increasing number of multidrug resistant Enterobacteriaceae , polymyxins were re-introduced into clinical practice .The resistance of polymyxins had gained global attention.In addition to chromosomal mediated drug resistance , a new plasmid-mediated colistin-resistance gene mcr-1 made transferation of polymyxins resistance more easily .Here, the mechanisms of chromosome mediated polymyxin resistance and plasmide-mediated drug resistance , including the distribution , prevalence, transfer mechanism, and genetic environments of mcr-1, current methods for polymyxins susceptibility testing methods and novel qualitative detection techniques were reviewed to provide information to cope with the growing problem of bacterial drug resistance .

Objective To observe the effect and adverse effect of ultrashort wave combined with Etroricox-ib in treatment of periarthritis of shoulder. Methods 80 cases with periarthritis of shoulder from March 2015 to March 2016 were randomly assigned into treatment group and control group. Etroricoxib therapy was provided in control group while ultrashort wave plus Etroricoxib therapy in treatment group. VAS ,ROM and MBI were applied for the evaluation before and after the treatment. The differences of clinical cure rate ,recurrence rate and adverse reactions were observed between 2 groups. Results There were higher cure rates ,lower recurrence rates and less adverse reactions in 2 groups after the treatment. The shoulder joint pain ,rang of should motion and BI of both groups were improved with significant differences after the treatment ,but treatment group witnessed more improve-ment(P<0.05). Conclusions Ultrashort wave combined with Etroricoxib therapy can relieve shoulder pain ,and further improve the function of shoulder joint activity in the treatment of periarthritis of shoulder. It is recommended for clinical application.

Aim To study the influence of Sodium fer-ulate ( SF) on bone metabolism in glucocorticoid–in-duced osteoporosis rats. Methods Thirty cases of fe-male Wistar Rats(3-month-old) were divided into con-trol group, model group and SF group ( low-dose group, middle-dose group, high-dose group ) by ran-domized block design. Double fluorochrome labeling with calcein was performed before necropsy. The left tibia was taken for bone histomorphometry. Results In static parameters, the proximal tibia cancellous bone trabecular thickness, trabecular quantity and area ratio were significantly reduced in model group compared with control group;while compared with model group, those were increased in middle and high-dose SF group. Trabecular separation degree was increased in model group compared with control group, while it was decreased in middle and high-dose SF group compared with model group. In dynamic parameters, the calcula-tion parameters of cancellous bone mark perimeter rate and the bone formation rate were increased in model group compared with control group, in middle and high-dose SF group the bone formation rate was in-creased compared with model group. In bone cells, os-teoclast number per mm, osteoblast number per mm, percent osteoblast surface perimeter and percent osteo-clast surface perimeter were increased in model group compared with control group. In growth-plate, the thickness of growth-plate was increased in model group compared with control group. In bone cells and growth-plate there was no statistical significance between treat-ment group and model group. Conclusion This study demonstrates that SF can increase bone mass and im-prove bone structure,which may be related to the im-provement of bone formation. SF is effective for GIOP in rats.

BACKGROUND:Herba epimedi, a traditional Chinese medicine, has a long time in dealing with various orthopedic disorders. Icarinwithmany biological activites is one of the most important compositions of Herba epimedi. OBJECTIVE:Toinvestigate the effects of icarin on osteogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stem cels and the underlying mechanisms. METHODS:Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cels were treated using icarin with or without osteogenic mediumin vitro. Osteogenic differentiation markers, including runt-related transcription factor 2, osteocalcin and osterix, were detected by real time-qPCR. Alizarin red staining was used to measure calcium nodes generated by osteoblasts induced frombonemarrow mesenchymal stem cels. The proximal tibia bone structure of rats fed with icarin (2 mgperday) for 5 weeks was detected and analyzed by MicroCT. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Icarin was able to promote the expression of genes related to osteogenic differentiation in the absence or presence of osteogenic induction. Icarin could obviously increase the quantity of calcium nodes whenmesenchymal stem celswere cultured in the osteogenic medium. The animal experiment showed that icarin improved formation of trabecular bone.

Objective To investigate PRDM1 gene methylation status , immune classification and their prognostic significance in diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL).Methods Immunohistochemical (IHC) staining for CD20, CD10, bcl-2, bcl-6, PRDM1/Blimp-1 and MUM1 was carried out in 100 cases of DLBCL specimens and 20 reactive lymphoid proliferation samples . All patients were classified into germinal center B cell-like ( GCB) and activated B cell-like ( ABC) subtype according to Hans′algorithmin. PRDM1 gene methylation was detected by methylation-specific PCR ( MSP ) and its relationship with clinicopathologic parameters was analyzed .OCI-Ly1 ( GCB type) and OCI-Ly3 ( ABC type) cell lines were transfected by Small interfering RNA ( siRNA ) with cationic lipid reagent transfection mediated , and the PRDM1/Blimp-1 expression in before and after transfected cell lines were detected with reverse transcription -PCR and Western blot methods .The relationship between PRDM 1 gene methylation , clinicopathologic parameter and survival was analyzed using one-way analysis of variance .Results One hundred patients were classified into 73 (73%) cases of GCB subtypes and 27 (27%) cases of ABC.PRDM1/Blimp-1 was expressed in 21 DLBCL and highly expressed in 20 reactive lymphoid proliferation .PRDM1 gene methylation was detected in 23%(23/100) of DLBCL, while no methylation was detected in all 20 reactive lymphoid proliferation.The difference of the PRDM1 methylation status between DLBCL and the control samples was statistically significant (P=0.004).However, there was no significant correlation between the PRDM 1 gene methylation and clinicopathologic parameters ( P >0.05 ) .Reverse transcription-PCR and Western blot showed that PRDM1 gene expression was reduced in siRNA-induced group compared with blank control group and negative control group .One-way analysis of variance revealed that aged ≥60 years, performance status score above 3, and the presence of general symptoms were associated with significantly lower overall survival rate.Conclusions PRDM1 gene silencing with aberrant CpG methylation is probably one of the critical events in the oncogenesis of DLBCL .This may have important implications as a candidate marker for diagnosis and targeted gene therapy .Meanwhile in vitro siRNA transfected OCI-Ly1 and OCI-Ly3 cell lines confirm that PRDM1 gene is a suppressor gene in DLBCL and may represent a novel therapeutic target .

Objective To investigate the requirement of health education for patients with spinal tuberculosis,making clinical education form,and determine the evaluation system.Methods 134 cases of spinal tuberculosis patients were surveyed with self-designed questionnaires.The questionnaire included 5 aspects,using the Likert 4 scoring method.Delphi method was applied in 16 experts.Results The health demand of patients showed high positive correlation in domains of cognition and operation.There was a moderate positive correlation between affective domain and cognition,operation domain.Two rounds of expert consultation showed that the expert opinion coordination coefficient was 100％,the average of authority was above 0.8,the expert opinion coordination coefficients of all the indexes were between 0.2～0.6.Conclusions The health education form for spinal tuberculosis patients can help to understand the needs of patients,it is pertinent and get the recognition of experts.
