Objective To investigate the function of glymphatic system in patients with mild traumatic brain injury via diffusion tensor imaging analysis along the perivascular space(DTI-ALPS)index and its relationship with clinical features. Methods The clinical and imaging data from 163 patients with mild traumatic brain injury were retrospectively collected, including 31 cases with MRI-negative findings and 132 cases with MRI-positive findings. In addition,29 healthy individuals underwent physical examinations were included as a control group. The differences in DTI-ALPS index and clinical features between mild traumatic brain injury and control group,as well as among subgroups of traumatic brain injury were analyzed. Results The DTI-ALPS index in patients with mild traumatic brain injury were significantly higher than those in control group(P<0.05).Subgroup analysis showed that DTI-ALPS index of traumatic brain injury patients with MRI-negative findings and MRI-positive findings were all significantly higher than those of control group(P=0.023 and 0.004,respectively).Compared to control group,DTI-ALPS index in mild traumatic brain injury patients gradually increased with the progression of injury, and the difference was statistically significant(P=0.008).Conclusion Patients with mild traumatic brain injury exhibit increased functional activity of glymphatic system,as indicated by increased DTI-ALPS index, which further increase with the progression of injury.

AIM:To investigate the types and mechanisms of lung injury induced by high-altitude exposure in mice.METHODS:Eight-week-old male C57BL/6 mice were randomly assigned to a normoxia group and a hypobaric hy-poxia exposure group, with 10 mice in each group. The hypobaric hypoxia group was continuously exposed to a hypobaric hypoxia environment simulating an altitude of 6 000 m for 3 d to establish an acute lung injury model.Lung tissues were collected.Lung pathological changes were evaluated using HE and Masson staining.Transcriptome analysis was conducted using DESeq2 and ClusterProfiler to identify differentially expressed genes and pathways, and hub genes were screened us-ing the STRING database.RESULTS:Compared with the normoxia group, the hypobaric hypoxia group exhibited signifi-cant increases in alveolar septal thickness, hyaline membrane formation, and neutrophil infiltration both in the alveolar space and the interstitial space, along with elevated lung injury scores(P<0.01),with no significant fibrosis observed. The mRNA levels of Alas2,Slc4a1,Rhag,Car1,Car2,Hbb,Agtr1b,Bmp2,Bmper,Vegfc,Foxm1,Fgf18,Igf1,Cx-cl12 and Mmp14 genes were significantly elevated(P<0.01),while Notch1,Notch4 and Cxcr4 mRNA levels were signifi-cantly decreased(P<0.01).Protein levels of inducible nitric oxide synthase(iNOS),cleaved caspase-3,cleaved PARP,fibronectin, elastin, tenascin C,tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1(TIMP1),WNT3a,and β-catenin were signifi-cantly increased(P<0.05).CONCLUSION:Short-term high-altitude hypobaric hypoxia exposure induced acute lung in-jury in mice by significantly altering the expression of genes involved in apoptosis, vascular permeability regulation,extra-cellular matrix remodeling, and type Ⅱ alveolar epithelial cell proliferation.

This article provides a review of domestic and international research on nursing-sensitive quality indicators (NSQIs) and evaluation systems for acute poisoning patients. It organizes the indicators into three dimensions based on the "structure-process-outcome" framework. The need for establishing a unified, comprehensive, and nationally suitable system of NSQIs in China is emphasized to standardize nursing practices and improve the monitoring of care quality. Although existing indicators possess some scientific validity, they often overlap with emergency nursing quality evaluation systems or are limited to specific types of poisoning. In addition, large-scale clinical trials to test their practical application and accessibility have yet to be conducted. This review aims to consolidate and analyze NSQIs for acute poisoning patients and provide a foundation and reference for improving the quality of nursing care for these patients.

Objective To explore the predictive value of the enhanced CT imaging-based radiomics model and the clinical model for the serosal invasion in advanced gastric cancer. Methods The data were collected from 351 patients with advanced gastric cancer who underwent abdominal enhanced CT examination within 2 weeks before surgery, and the patients were randomly divided into a training group(n=247)and a validation group(n=104)in a ratio of 7:3.The 3190 radiomics features which were extracted from the arterial and venous phase CT images using A.K software were dimensionally reduced for constructing a radiomics model. The pathological features between serosal invasion positive and negative groups were compared, and the significant features were used to establish a clinical model. The model's performance was evaluated using receiver operating characteristic curve. Results In the training and validation groups,N staging and M staging were different in serosal invasion positive and negative groups(P<0.05).A total of 14 radiomic features were ultimately selected from the arterial and venous phase images. In the validation group, the diagnostic efficacy of the radiomic model for predicting serosal invasion in advanced gastric cancer was higher than that of the clinical model based on the combination of N staging and M staging(AUC:0.854 vs 0.793).Conclusion Both the radiomics model based on the enhanced CT imaging and the clinical model based on the combination of N staging and M staging can successfully predict serosal invasion in advanced gastric cancer, but the former performs better.

Epimedii folium is a commonly used Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for warming the kidney and strengthening the yang qi. It has androgen-estrogen-like effect. It can not only directly act on sexual organs to regulate hormone levels, but also exert sex-hormone-like effect through hypothalamus-pituitary-gonadal axis. Its regulation of hormone levels is similar to that of plant hormones. At present, Epimedii folium is commonly used with other TCMs to treat diseases caused by sex-hormone deficiency, such as male spermatopenia, asthenospermia, benign prostatic hyperplasia, functional erectile dysfunction, female premature ovarian failure, perimenopausal syndrome, dysfunctional infertility during ovulation, hyperandrogenemia of PCOS patients, etc.

Background:
Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) leads to thinning of scalp hair and affects 60%~70% of the adult population worldwide. Developing more effective treatments and studying its mechanism are of great significance. Previous clinical studies have revealed that hair growth is stimulated by 650-nm red light.
Objective:
This study aimed to explore the effect and mechanism of 650-nm red light on the treatment of AGA by using ex vivo hair follicle culture.
Methods:
Human hair follicles were obtained from hair transplant patients with AGA. Hair follicles were cultured in Williams E medium and treated with or without 650-nm red light.Real-time RT-PCR and immunofluorescence staining were used to detect the expression level of genes and proteins in hair follicles, respectively. RNA-sequencing analysis was carried out to reveal the distinct gene signatures upon 650 nm treatment.
Results:
Low-level 650 nm red light promoted the proliferation of human hair follicles in the experimental cultured-tissue model. Consistently, 650 nm red light significantly delayed the transition of hair cycle from anagen to catagen in vitro. RNA-seq analysis and gene clustering for the differentially expressed genes suggests that leukocyte transendothelial migration, metabolism, adherens junction and other biological process maybe involved in stimulation of hair follicles by 650-nm red light treatment.
Conclusion
The effect of 650-nm red light on ex vivo hair follicles and the transcriptome set which implicates the role of red light in promoting hair growth and reversing of miniaturization process of AGA were identified.
