Lung cancer is a leading cause of cancer-related morbidity and mortality worldwide. Coupled with the substantial workload, the clinical management of lung cancer is challenged by the critical need to efficiently and accurately process increasingly complex medical information. In recent years, large language models (LLMs) technology has undergone explosive development, demonstrating unique advantages in handling complex medical data by leveraging its powerful natural language processing capabilities, and its application value in the field of lung cancer diagnosis and treatment is continuously increasing. The paper systematically analyzes that the exceptional potential of LLMs in lung cancer auxiliary diagnosis, tumor feature extraction, automatic staging, progression/outcome analysis, treatment recommendations, medical documentation generation, and patient education. However, they face critical technical and ethical challenges including inconsistent performance in complex integrated decision-making (e.g., TNM staging, personalized treatment suggestions) and "black box" opacity issues, along with dilemmas such as training data biases, model hallucinations, data privacy concerns, and cross-lingual adaptation challenges ("data colonization"). Future directions should prioritize constructing high-quality multimodal corpora specific to lung cancer, developing interpretable and compliant specialized models, and achieving seamless integration with existing clinical workflows. Through dual drivers of technological innovation and ethical standardization, LLMs should be prudently advanced for holistic lung cancer management processes, ultimately promoting efficient, standardized, and personalized diagnosis and treatment practices.

In recent years, there has been a significant surge in the prevalence of myopia at younger ages in China. Numerous studies have investigated methods for preventing and controlling myopia, including orthokeratology, low-concentration atropine eye drops, light therapy, posterior scleral reinforcement, and traditional Chinese medicine. These approaches can modulate choroidal thickness, blood flow, and target various molecular mechanisms. Orthokeratology and low-concentration atropine demonstrate a thickening effect on the choroid and regulate choroidal blood flow; the use of multi-point defocus control lenses also shows promise in thickening the choroid; the influence of light and light feeding therapy on myopia prevention and control is also reflected in the choroidal thickness and blood flow; and the traditional Chinese medicine has shown good prospect in influencing the microstructure of the choroid for myopia prevention and control. However, the long-term effects of various prevention and control measures on the choroid still need to be explored with a large sample size. This article provides an overview of various methods used to regulate the choroid and prevent myopia. The mechanisms by which these interventions act on the choroid are described to provide new insights and identity novel clinical strategies for myopia management.

Widespread utilization of glyphosate has led to environmental residues, posing potential threats to ecological systems and human health.Traditional methods for detection of glyphosate are limited by specialized equipment and operational techniques, resulting in inefficient responses. Therefore,it is urgent to develop a convenient, sensitive and accurate detection method for detection of glyphosate.Herein,a new naphthalenesulfonamide-based"Turn-on"fluorescent probe was synthesized using 2-chloroaniline and dansyl chloride as raw materials through a one-step process, which showed a good linear relationship between the glyphosate concentration in concentration range of 0.003-70 μmol/L and the fluorescence intensity(R2=0.995),with a detection limit of 2.73 nmol/L(S/N=3).Analytical techniques such as nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)spectroscopy and high-resolution mass spectrometry(HRMS)were used to investigate the interaction mechanism between the fluorescent probe and glyphosate. The results indicated that a nucleophilic substitution reaction occurred between the probe and the secondary amine(—NH—)of glyphosate, inducing a photoinduced electron transfer(PET)effect which enhanced the fluorescence intensity by 11.2 times. The probe showed good anti-interference ability towards coexisting metal ions, anions and pesticides in water. When applied to determination of glyphosate in the samples such as tap water, river water(Xiangxi River Reservoir),soil, soybeans, and corn, the spiking recoveries ranged from 94.7%to 109.9%,demonstrating the high accuracy and broad applicability of this detection method.A portable test strip based on this fluorescent probe was developed for rapid semi-quantitative analysis of glyphosate. The developed method was rapid, sensitive, and portable, providing theoretical and technical support for on-site measurement of environmental contaminants.

A novel analytical method was developed in this study by combining online solid phase extraction with ultra performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(Online SPE-UPLC-MS/MS)for simultaneous determination of 50 kinds of steroid hormones in surface water.Specifically, after high-speed centrifugation of 4 mL water samples, the supernatant was directly injected into an Oasis HLB online SPE column for enrichment and purification.Subsequently, the target compounds were transferred to the analytical column via valve switching for separation and analysis. The chromatographic separation was performed on a Thermo Acclaim RSLC C18 column(100 mm×2.1 mm,2.2 μm),using a mobile phase composed of 5 mmol/L ammonium fluoride aqueous solution and acetonitrile.Mass spectrometric detection was conducted in positive ion mode, utilizing multiple reaction monitoring(MRM)with quantification achieved by the internal standard method. The method validation demonstrated that the limits of detection(LOD)for the 50 kinds of steroid hormones ranged from 0.02 to 0.50 ng/L,while the limits of quantification(LOQ)were between 0.08 and 1.67 ng/L.The average recoveries in surface water samples at spiked concentrations of 5,20 and 200 ng/L were between 74.1%and 119%,with relative standard deviations(RSDs)of 0.2%to 9.9%.This method was applied to analyze 11 surface water samples collected from sites surrounding a pharmaceutical and chemical industrial park.A total of 44 kinds of steroid hormones were detected, with concentrations ranging from 0.11 to 88.6 ng/L,revealing the presence of hormone contamination in the environmental waters surrounding industrial areas.Compared with the traditional offline SPE methods, the proposed online SPE technique significantly reduced sample volume requirements and pretreatment time, while minimizing the loss of target compounds during the pretreatment process. Moreover, compared to reported online SPE techniques, this method achieved high-throughput analysis of multiple classes of steroid hormones, with lower detection limits and higher recoveries.Overall, this method provided rapid sample preparation, high sensitivity, and excellent stability, making it suitable for the direct analysis of trace steroid hormones in surface water.

As a serine protease, thrombin can convert soluble fibrinogen into insoluble fibrin and plays a pivotal role in the coagulation cascade. Therefore, the accurate quantitative assay of thrombin levels is of great value in the evaluation of coagulation function, clinical screening and prognostic monitoring of coagulation-related diseases, and screening of drugs for targeted therapy.Existing methods for thrombin detection can be divided into two categories,e.g.,the assay of concentration levels using nucleic acid aptamers as the affinity elements and the assay of activity levels based on the hydrolytic cleavage of substrate peptides. In recent years, electrochemical biosensors have attracted much attention in thrombin detection due to high sensitivity, high selectivity, simple instrument, fast response, and good portability. In this review, the latest research progress in methods for electrochemical detection of thrombin was summarized, focusing on the detection principles and the applied signal amplification strategies of related electrochemical biosensors. In addition, the challenges with respect to the practical use of electrochemical thrombin biosensors and the prospects were discussed.

BACKGROUND:In recent years, numerous studies have shown that autophagy and mitophagy play an important role in the regulation of bone metabolism.Under non-physiological conditions, mitophagy breaks the balance of bone metabolism and triggers metabolism disorders, which affect osteoblasts, osteoclasts, osteocytes, chondrocytes, bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells, etc. OBJECTIVE:To summarize the mechanism of mitophagy in regulating bone metabolic diseases and its application in clinical treatment. METHODS:PubMed,Web of Science,CNKI,WanFang and VIP databases were searched by computer using the keywords of"mitophagy, bone metabolism, osteoblasts, osteoclasts, osteocytes, chondrocytes, bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells"in English and Chinese. The search time was from 2008 to 2023.According to the inclusion criteria,90 articles were finally included for review and analysis. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Mitophagy promotes the generation of osteoblasts through SIRT1,PINK1/Parkin,FOXO3 and PI3K signaling pathways, while inhibiting osteoclast function through PINK1/Parkin and SIRT1 signaling pathways.Mitophagy leads to bone loss by increasing calcium phosphate particles and tissue protein kinase K in bone tissue.Mitophagy improves the function of chondrocytes through PINK1/Parkin,PI3K/AKT/mTOR and AMPK signaling pathways.Modulation of mitophagy shows great potential in the treatment of bone diseases, but there are still some issues to be further explored, such as different stages of drug-activated mitophagy, and the regulatory mechanisms of different signaling pathways.

OBJECTIVE:To collect the cases of the combinations of effective ingredients of traditional Chinese medicine and scaffolds, then analogize tissue engineering scaffolds and effective ingredients of traditional Chinese medicine into two types of traditional Chinese medicine that generate compatibility relationships based on the inspiration of the compatibility of seven emotions and summarize the relationship between the two based on their functional relationships. METHODS:Relevant articles from January 1998 to January 2024 were searched in PubMed and China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),using English search terms"traditional Chinese medicine,Chinese medicine, traditional Chinese medicine monomers, bone defect, bone repair, bone tissue engineering, tissue engineering, scaffold"and Chinese search terms"traditional Chinese medicine, effective ingredients of traditional Chinese medicine, traditional Chinese medicine monomers, bone tissue engineering, bone tissue engineering scaffold, scaffold, tissue engineering, bone defect, bone repair."A total of 88 articles were included for review and analysis. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)Both tissue engineering scaffold materials and active ingredients of traditional Chinese medicine have been widely used in the field of bone repair.Although they have obvious advantages in osteogenesis, there are still many shortcomings. Many studies are dedicated to preparing composite materials from the two, hoping to exert a detoxification and synergism through the interaction between the two.(2)Some drugs and materials can promote each other in osteogenesis, antibacterial, and promoting angiogenesis, enhancing their original effects.Inspired by the traditional concept of prescription compatibility, this article summarized it as a"Mutual promotion"relationship and provided examples to support it.(3)Some drugs can enhance the strength of materials, while some materials can achieve sustained release and controlled release effects, increase drug loading and stability,or achieve targeted delivery of drugs loaded on them. The article summarized this unilateral enhancement effect as a"Mutual assistance"relationship.(4)The combination of some traditional Chinese medicine and materials can reduce the toxic side effects of the other party. The article summarizes this detoxification relationship as"Mutual restraint and detoxification."(5)The article provided a new perspective on traditional Chinese medicine composite scaffolds, inspired by the seven emotions compatibility relationship and based on the classification of action relationships. It introduced traditional Chinese medicine concepts into the field of tissue engineering, providing new research ideas for subsequent researchers of composite scaffolds, and providing certain convenience in material selection and matching.
