Objective :
To investigate the influence of abnormal occlusion factors on the incidence of temporomandibular disorders (TMDs) in junior college students and to provide an etiological basis for the prevention and treatment of TMDs.
Methods :
We examined the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and dental occlusion in 754 lower grade college students (male 354, female 400) at Zunyi Medical University (Zhuhai campus). A questionnaire was also administered. We analyzed the correlation between TMD and the other three factors (static abnormal occlusion, dynamical abnormal occlusion and oral parafunctional activity) from the perspective of multivariate unconditioned logistic regression and univariate unconditioned logistic regression with dummy variables.
Results :
The prevalence of TMD was 31.7%. The incidence of TMD was significantly (P<0.05) associated with sleep bruxism (OR=2.070), clenching (OR=2.553), diurnal (OR=2.642) and anterior teeth overbite (OR=1.228). Univariate unconditioned logistics regression analysis by dummy variables was used to analyze the incidence of TMD at different deep overbites (mild, OR=1.558; moderate, OR=2.189; severe, OR=3.236; P<0.05).
Conclusion
The risk factors for TMD in lower grade college students included anterior teeth occlusion, sleep bruxism, clenching, and diurnal treatment. Worse deep overbite might increase the risk of TMD.

Objectives:To investigate the effect of TP 5 on the immune function and infection rate in patients undergoing cardiopulmonary bypass(CPB) operation. Methods:Ninety four patients were divided into two groups to observe the effect of TP 5 on the immune function and infection rate. Results:The immunological parameters in the TP 5 group was better than the control group, and postoperative infection was prevented. Conclusions:TP 5 can improve patients' cell mediated immunity and reduce infection rate.

Abstract To analyse the mechanism of TECA bio-artificial liver support system(BALSS)to treat acute liver failure (ALF) canines. The blood of partial liver resection-induced ALF canines or RPMI1640 solution were circulated in the inner space of the hollow fibers (blood loop), and porcine hepatocytes were cultured in outer space of the hollow fibers (cell loop). The concentrations of lidocaine, albumine and urine in the RPMI1640 solution were measured. The compositions of proteins in cell loop and blood loop were analysed by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE). The ultrastructure of porcine hepatocytes in BALSS was observed with transmission electronic microscopy. There were not any proteins in RPMI1640 solution before BALSS circulation. After 6 hours of the BALSS circulation, the concentration of lidocaine in RPMI1640 solution decreased significantly, and concentration of albumine and urine nitrogen increased gradually. The ultrastructure of the porcine hepatocyte shown damaged after BALSS 6h. The results suggested that TECA BALSS could replace temporarily the functions of failure liver by the effects of biologic transform and synthesis of porcine hepatocytes.
