Objective:This study aims to explore the independent and interactive effects of childhood trauma (CT) and major depressive disorder (MDD) on amygdala subregion volumes and to examine whether volumetric changes in these subregions mediate the relationship between CT and depressive severity.Methods:A total of 129 MDD patients and 127 age- and sex-matched healthy controls were recruited from Nanjing Brain Hospital between October 2022 and November 2024. All participants underwent 3D-T 1 weighted MRI scans,and amygdala subregions were segmented using the FreeSurfer software. Depressive and anxiety symptoms were assessed with the 17-item Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAMD 17) and the Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA),respectively. Childhood trauma exposure was evaluated via the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ). Generalized linear models (GLM) were applied to analyze the main and interactive effects of MDD diagnosis (depression/healthy controls) and CT (presence/absence),adjusting for age,estimated intracranial volume,sex,medication history,and education years. Partial correlation and mediation analyses were conducted to explore associations between amygdala subregion volumes and clinical measures in MDD patients. Results:MDD diagnosis was independently associated with increased volumes in the right central nucleus ( Wald χ2=9.09, P=0.026) and medial nucleus ( Wald χ2=10.08, P=0.026). CT exposure was independently associated with reduced volumes in the right central nucleus ( Wald χ2=7.99, P=0.047) and medial nucleus ( Wald χ2=9.20, P=0.047). No significant interaction effects between MDD and CT were observed in any amygdala subregion. Mediation analysis revealed that reduced right medial nucleus volume partially mediated the relationship between total CTQ scores and depressive severity (proportion mediated: 26.69%,95% CI=0.002-0.060) and mediated the association between emotional neglect and depressive severity (proportion mediated: 26.75%,95% CI=0.006-0.150). Such mediating effects were not found for the right central nucleus. Conclusion:CT and MDD exhibit divergent patterns of influence on amygdala subregions. CT is linked to volumetric reductions,whereas MDD is associated with volumetric enlargement. Reduced volume of the right medial nucleus mediates the relationship between CT and depression severity.

Objective: To evaluate the association between autoimmune diseases (ADs) and thyroid dysfunction using a Mendelian randomization (MR) approach. Methods: Genetic predictors of hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism were collected through the UK Biobank, including 337 159 individuals and 10 894 596 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). Genetic predictors of 6 ADs including systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), ankylosing spondylitis (AS), type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), primary biliary cholangitis (PBC), and multiple sclerosis (MS) were collected through the GWAS Catalog database, including 14 267 individuals and 7 071 163 SNPs, 22 647 individuals and 99 962 SNPs, 24 840 individuals and 12 783 129 SNPs, 58 284 individuals and 13 108 512 SNPs, 13 239 individuals and 1 124 241 SNPs, and 38 589 individuals and 156 632 SNPs. MR analysis was performed using the inverse-variance weighted (IVW) method. The horizontal pleiotropy was assessed using the MR-Egger regression, and sensitivity analysis was conducted with the leave-one-out. Results: IVW results showed that a higher risk of hypothyroidism was associated with T1DM (OR=1.007, 95%CI: 1.003-1.011, P<0.05), SLE (OR=1.005, 95%CI: 1.002-1.009, P<0.05), and RA (OR=1.013, 95%CI: 1.009-1.016, P<0.05); a higher risk of hyperthyroidism was associated with T1DM (OR=1.002, 95%CI: 1.001-1.003, P<0.05) and SLE (OR=1.002, 95%CI: 1.001-1.003, P<0.05). Conclusions Genetically predicted ADs are associated with an increased risk of thyroid dysfunction. A higher risk of hypothyroidism is associated with T1DM, SLE and RA; a higher risk of hyperthyroidism is associated with T1DM and SLE.

Objective To investigate the present situation of the core competencies of nurses and patient's safety culture cognition in level two class A hospital,and analyze the correlation of the core competence and patient safety culture cognition,so as to offer a proposal to improve the core competence and patient's safety culture cognition.Methods A total of 342 clinical nurses in Hu'nan province from six level two class A hospitals from August to September 2016 by convenient nonprobability sample method,using the general information questionnaire,hospital core competence scale and registered nurses'perception of patient safety culture assessment questionnaire.Results The mean scores of 342 nurses' (from level two class A hospitals) the core competence and the patient's safety culture of nurses' cognition were (2.51±0.69) points and (4.06±0.37) points, which both were at the medium level. The total score of nurses' competency was positively correlated to the total score of patient's safety culture cognition (r=0.395,P<0.01).ConclusionsHospitals should improve construction of medical organization atmosphere,and strengthen the communication and cooperation between higher and lower levels,and promote the team cooperation ability,so as to facilitate the nurses' recognition level for patient's safety culture,reduce adverse event,and provide a better nursing quality.

Objective To develop a motor rehabilitation system based on Kinect somatosensory interaction technology to be used in families.Methods The Kinect skeleton real-time tracking technique was applied to develop three motor rehabilitation protocols to instruct patients in how to perform rehabilitation training and to evaluate their performance.Results Five subjects participated in the experiment.They achieved average scores of 79.15 ±4.89 and 98.89±0.67 for 3D movement and arm lifting respectively.In the pose recognition experiment,their average recognition rate was 90.37 ± 5.21％.Conclusion The proposed rehabilitation system can instruct patients in performing training exercises and evaluate their performance at home.
