Objective:To explore the clinical, imaging, and pathological features of glottic squamous cell carcinoma of the larynx and their relationship with prognosis. Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical, imaging, and pathological data of 130 patients with glottic squamous cell carcinoma of the larynx who were treated at the First People's Hospital of Yinchuan and the General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University from January 2018 to March 2023. Imaging examinations (CT and MRI) were used to evaluate the lesion boundary clarity, density, enhancement nature, and enhancement degree. Postoperative pathological examination was used to determine the pathological nature, immunohistochemistry, etc. Statistical methods such as χ² test, Spearman correlation analysis, multivariate logistic regression analysis, and Kaplan-Meier method were used to analyze the data. Results:Among the 130 patients, 127 were male and 3 were female, with an average age of (61.92±9.595) years. There was a correlation between clinical, imaging, and pathological features. Multivariate analysis showed that heterogeneous MRI density (OR=12.414;P=0.019) and squamous cell carcinoma as a subtype were correlated. The initial symptom of non-hoarseness (HR=6.045;P=0.010) and unclear MRI boundary (HR=12.559; P=0.029) were independent risk factors for poor prognosis in patients with glottic squamous cell carcinoma of the larynx. Conclusion:There is a correlation between the clinical, imaging, and pathological features of patients with glottic squamous cell carcinoma of the larynx, and they can affect prognosis. The initial symptom of non-hoarseness and unclear MRI boundary of the tumor are independent risk factors for poor prognosis.

Acta Universitatis Medicinalis Anhui 2025;60(5):945-954
Objective :
To characterize MMP12 as a pan-cancer marker and assess its screening value as a tumor serum marker.
Methods :
Bioinformatics tools such as GEPIA2,GSCA,cBioPortal,and GeneMANIA were used to analyze the pan-cancer features of MMP12 in TCGA datasets, including encompassing differential gene expression analysis, prognostic analysis,DNA methylation analysis, gene structural variation analysis and immune microenvironment analysis.Furthermore, serum samples we collected from patients with lung adenocarcinoma, breast invasive carcinoma, esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, stomach adenocarcinoma, liver hepatocellular carcinoma, and healthy individuals.ELISA was used to detect MMP12 expression in serum, and the screening performance was evaluated using the area under the ROC curve.Additionally,we followed up 28 ESCC patients and compared serum MMP12 levels between 19 patients with disease progression and 9 patients with stable disease.
Results:
The pancancer feature analysis revealed a significant negative correlation between MMP12 mRNA expression and its promoter DNA methylation(P<0.05),as well as a positive correlation with gene copy number variations(P<0.05).MMP12 mRNA expression was up-regulated in 14 cancer tissues compared to normal tissues next to cancer(P<0.05) and was associated with poor prognosis of cancer patients(P<0.05).Immunocorrelation analysis showed that MMP12 was significantly associated with immunity, infiltration of stromal cells, tumor mutational burden(TMB) and microsatellite instability(MSI)(P<0.05).ROC curve analysis indicated that MMP12 could serve as a potential biomarker for screening lung adenocarcinoma, breast invasive carcinoma, esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, stomach adenocarcinoma, and liver hepatocellular carcinoma. In a 30-month follow-up study of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma patients, the expression of MMP12 was higher in the disease progression group than that in the stable group.
Conclusion
MMP12 serves as a potential prognostic and screening marker of pan-cancer.

Objective: To study the effects of the palatal spur and chincup in the early treatment of anterior open bite in patients with Angle class Ⅰ malocclusion. Methods: Electronic search was conducted to find studies about the effects of the palatal spur and chincup in the early treatment of anterior open bite in patients with Angle class Ⅰ malocclusion. Data extraction and risk of bias assessment of included studies were conducted. RevMan5. 3 software was used fore Meta-analysis. Results: 6 clinical trials were qualified to the Meta-analysis. Compared to the control group, there was no significant change of skeletal measurments after treatment (P> 0. 05), and no significant change in dental measurments in chincup group (P> 0. 05) . While overbite, U1-PP (mm) and L1-MP (mm) were increased (P < 0. 05), U1-NA (°) and L1-NB (°) decreased (P < 0. 05) in the 3 groups of fixed palatal crib, bonded spur associated with the chincup and the removable palatal spur associated with the chincup. Conclusion: Chincup is not effective in the early treatment of the anterior open bite in patients with Angle class I malocclusion. But chincup combined with palatal spur or crib and have a positive effect on the closure of open bite through the palatal clination and extraction of the anterior teeth without influence of molar intrusion and skeletal change.

Objective To investigate the relationship between gene polymorphisms of homocysteine (Hcy), metabolic enzymes methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase MTHFR C677T and chronic pulmonary heart disease (CPHD). Methods The gene polymorphisms of MTHFR C677T were determined by the polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism(PCR-RFLP)in CPHD patients (n=120) and healthy control (HC, n=120), and genotyping was carried on. The automatic biochemistry analyzer was used to detect the level of Hcy and other related biochemical indicators. Results There was significant difference in Hcy level between the CPHD group and HC group (P<0.05). The mutation frequencies of CC, CT and TT were 24.17%, 43.33%and 32.50%, 35.00%, 47.50%and 17.50%in the CPHD group and HC group. The mutation frequencies of allele C/T were 45.83%and 54.17%in HC group, and 58.75%and 41.25%in control group. There was significant difference in the overall frequency distribution between the three genotypes (χ2 =8.010, P<0.05). The frequency of T allele was significantly higher in CPHD group than that in control group (χ2=8.025,P<0.05). Conclusion The increased Hcy and its metabolic enzyme MTHFR C677T may be involved in the occurrence and development of CPHD.
