Branch atheromatous disease (BAD) is a common type of acute ischemic stroke, accounting for 10% to 15% of all ischemic stroke etiologies. Clinically, it often presents as early neurological deterioration (END) primarily characterized by progressive motor deficits, leading to poor clinical outcomes. The mechanism of END in BAD patients has not been fully elucidated, and there is a lack of effective risk prediction markers and treatment strategies. With the application of high-resolution and high-field magnetic resonance imaging technologies to evaluate the vessel wall of parent artery and the morphology of penetrating artery, the pathogenesis and progression mechanisms of BAD have been further revealed. Some studies have shown that the effectiveness and safety of using enhanced antiplatelet agents such as tirofiban or combining antiplatelet therapy with anticoagulant treatment such as argatroban are gradually emerging. This article will focus on the research progresses in imaging evaluation and treatment of BAD, aiming to enhance clinicians′ understanding of BAD to take early measures to prevent END, reduce recurrence, and improve patient prognosis.

The development of acute liver injury can result in liver cirrhosis, liver failure, and even liver cancer, yet there is currently no effective therapy for it. The purpose of this study was to investigate the protective effect and therapeutic mechanism of Lyciumbarbarum polysaccharides (LBPs) on acute liver injury induced by carbon tetrachloride (CCl4). To create a model of acute liver injury, experimental canines received an intraperitoneal injection of 1 mL/kg of CCl4 solution. The experimental canines in the therapy group were then fed LBPs (20 mg/kg). CCl4-induced liver structural damage, excessive fibrosis, and reduced mitochondrial density were all improved by LBPs, according to microstructure data. By suppressing Kelch-like epichlorohydrin (ECH)-associated protein 1 (Keap1), promoting the production of sequestosome 1 (SQSTM1)/p62, nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2), and phase II detoxification genes and proteins downstream of Nrf2, and restoring the activity of anti-oxidant enzymes like catalase (CAT), LBPs can restore and increase the antioxidant capacity of liver. To lessen mitochondrial damage, LBPs can also enhance mitochondrial respiration, raise tissue adenosine triphosphate (ATP) levels, and reactivate the respiratory chain complexes I‒V. According to serum metabolomics, the therapeutic impact of LBPs on acute liver damage is accomplished mostly by controlling the pathways to lipid metabolism. 9-Hydroxyoctadecadienoic acid (9-HODE), lysophosphatidylcholine (LysoPC/LPC), and phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) may be potential indicators of acute liver injury. This study confirmed that LBPs, an effective hepatoprotective drug, may cure acute liver injury by lowering oxidative stress, repairing mitochondrial damage, and regulating metabolic pathways.

Ultrasound examination has the advantages of non-radiation, non-invasive, low cost and high efficiency, and is the most commonly used method of liver imaging examination. In recent years, the application of computer vision technology to the intelligent analysis of ultrasound images has become a research hotspot in the field of intelligent healthcare. Through large-scale data training, the intelligent analysis model of ultrasound omics based on machine learning algorithm can assist clinical diagnosis and therapy, and improve the efficiency and accuracy of diagnosis. Based on the literature, the authors summarize the application proprect of computer vision technology assisted ultrasonography in the evaluation of diffuse liver lesions, focal liver lesions, microvascular invasion of liver cancer, postoperative recurrence of liver cancer, and postoperative therapy response to trans-catheter arterial chemoembolization.

Objective:To integrate qualitative research on the experience of pulmonary rehabilitation in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) , to understand the experience of patients with pulmonary rehabilitation and its influencing factors, so as to provide evidence support for pulmonary rehabilitation. Methods:Qualitative research on pulmonary rehabilitation experience of COPD patients was retrieved by computer in 8 databases including the Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Embase, PubMed, CINAHL, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, WanFang and VIP. The retrieval time limit was from the establishment of the database to August 20, 2021. The quality of the articles those met the requirements were evaluated by the quality evaluation criteria for qualitative research of the Australian Joanna Briggs Institute Evidence-Based Health Care Center, and the results of each study were further integrated and analyzed. Results:A total of 12 articles were included, and 47 clear topics were extracted, and similar topics were summarized into 7 new categories. A total of 3 integrated results were synthesized, namely rehabilitation efficacy, pulmonary rehabilitation motivation, and pulmonary rehabilitation obstacles. Conclusions:COPD patients who can persist in training perceive the benefits of pulmonary rehabilitation, and both the pulmonary rehabilitation environment and interpersonal support are factors that promote their pulmonary rehabilitation. The patients' own condition and transportation and economic difficulties are the main obstacles. Therefore, the patients' physical and economic status should be comprehensively evaluated during pulmonary rehabilitation, and the most suitable pulmonary rehabilitation program should be selected.

Objective:To explore the application value of artificial intelligence-assisted diagnosis system for TBS report in cervical cancer screening. Methods:A total of 16 317 clinical samples and related data of cervical liquid-based thin-layer cell smears, which were obtained from July 2020 to September 2020, were collected from Southern Hospital, Guangzhou Huayin Medical Inspection Center, Shenzhen Bao′an People′s Hospital(Group) and Changsha Yuan′an Biotechnology Co., Ltd. The TBS report artificial intelligence-assisted diagnosis system of cervical liquid-based thin-layer cytology jointly developed by Southern Medical University and Guangzhou F. Q. PATHOTECH Co., Ltd. based on deep learning convolution neural network was used to diagnose all clinical samples. The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of both artificial intelligence-assisted diagnosis system and cytologists using artificial intelligence-assisted diagnosis system were analyzed based on the evaluation standard(2014 TBS). The time spent by the two methods was also compared. Results:The sensitivity of artificial intelligence-assisted diagnosis system in predicting cervical intraepithelial lesions and other lesions (including endometrial cells detected in women over 45 years old and infectious lesions) under different production methods, different cytoplasmic staining and different scanning instruments was 92.90% and 83.55% respectively, and the specificity of negative samples was 87.02%, while that of cytologists using artificial intelligence-assisted diagnosis system was 99.34%, 97.79% and 99.10%, respectively. Moreover, cytologists using artificial intelligence-assisted diagnosis system could save about 6 times of reading time than manual. Conclusions:Artificial intelligence-assisted diagnosis system for TBS report of cervical liquid-based thin-layer cytology has the advantages of high sensitivity, high specificity and strong generalization.
