Objective:To evaluate the clinical efficacy of autologous costal cartilage combined with nasal Pitanguy ligament reconstruction for correcting downward rotation of the nasal tip following rhinoplasty. Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of patients who underwent this combined technique at the Department of Plastic Surgery, Chongqing Contemporary Plastic Surgery Hospital, between January 2019 and January 2021. Autologous costal cartilage was carved into a bifurcated nasal columella support graft (3 cm in length × 8 mm in width × 2 mm in thickness, with a 1 cm bifurcation at the distal end). This graft was fixed across the caudal septum to establish a costal cartilage support framework. A piece of costal perichondrium (approximately 3 cm × 1 cm) was harvested. Using 5-0 PDS sutures, the cephalic end of the perichondrium was meticulously fixed to the residual stump of the Pitanguy ligament on the nasal dorsum, while the caudal end was anchored to the nasal tip scaffold, thereby reconstructing the ligamentous tension system. Postoperative complications were monitored. Preoperatively and at 12 months postoperatively, patients’ photographs were processed using Adobe Photoshop CS 6 to measure the nasolabial angle, nasofrontal angle, and columellar-lobular angle. Patient satisfaction was assessed using the rhinoplasty outcome evaluation (ROE) questionnaire (total score range: 0-24; higher scores indicate greater satisfaction). The paired t-test was employed for statistical comparison of these measurements and scores, with a P-value < 0.05 considered statistically significant. Results:A total of 76 patients were included (16 males, 60 females), with a mean age of 26.5 ± 4.3 years (range: 18-42 years). The mean follow-up duration was 13.2 months (range: 12-15 months). All patients recovered well, with no complications, such as nasal tip graft visibility, graft displacement, or breathing difficulties were observed. Natural contouring between the nasal tip and dorsum was achieved, and the fullness of the infratip lobule was significantly improved. Statistically significant differences ( P < 0.01 for all) were found between preoperative and 12-month postoperative measurements: nasofrontal angle (143.54° ± 5.08° vs. 134.12° ± 8.63°), nasolabial angle (82.28° ± 7.02° vs. 95.36° ± 3.76°), columellar-lobular angle (50.72° ± 6.67° vs. 43.05° ± 4.52°), and ROE scores [(9.05 ± 2.03) points vs. (22.07 ± 2.45)points]. Conclusion:The combined technique utilizing autologous costal cartilage and Pitanguy ligament reconstruction effectively corrects downward rotation of the nasal tip. Through the synergistic action of costal cartilage structural support and anatomical restoration of the Pitanguy ligament, it achieves a natural nasal tip contour, functional stability and high patient satisfaction.

Objective To explore the solution of local water-fat separation swap artifacts(WFS-SA)on nasopharyngeal T1WI-itera-tive decomposition of water and fat with echo asymmetry and least-squares estimation(T1WI-IDEAL)enhanced examination images. Methods Thirty-seven patients with obvious WFS-SA on nasopharyngeal enhanced examination using the A group T1WI-IDEAL param-eters were collected.Scans with modified parameters B,C,and D groups were subsequently performed based on the A group parame-ters.Subjective ratings of image quality were conducted on the four image groups, and the image signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)of the posterior wall of the nasopharynx and medulla oblongata was quantified. The total number of artifact slices(TAS),total artifact area(TAA),and maximum single-slice artifact area(SSAAmax)of the WFS-SA in the four image groups were recorded. The consistency of image quality ratings between the two technologists was analyzed via the intraclass correlation coefficient(ICC),and one-way analysis of variance or rank-sum test was used to compare the SNR,TAS,TAA,and SSAAmax among the four image groups. Results The subjective rating for modified B,C,and D groups of T1WI-IDEAL images by two technologists was deemed satisfactory(ICC=0.721-0.928,P<0.001).Significant variations in image quality ratings were observed among the three groups(H=45.131,P<0.001),with ratings for C and D groups surpass-ing those for B group(P<0.001).The TAS,TAA,and SSAAmax exhibited a decreasing pattern on T1WI-IDEAL images across A,B,C,and D groups, with statistically significant variances observed among all groups(P<0.001).Moreover,the SNR of the medulla oblongata layer in D group displayed a notably higher value compared to A,B groups, with statistically significant distinctions(P<0.001).Conclusion By combining the reduction of the echo train length(ETL)to 2 with the implementation of a double shimming, the occurrence of WFS-SA on nasopharyngeal T1WI-IDEAL enhanced examination images can be minimized and the overall image quality can be enhanced.

Objective:To investigate the total radioactivity in drinking well water around the Bayanwula uranium mine. Methods:Totally 174 samples of drinking well water and 5 samples of filtered well water from residential houses were collected during dry and wet seasons in 2020 around the Bayanwula uranium mine. Total α and total β radioactivity in dry season and wet season were analyzed for detrmining whether there were differences between them and the relation between total radioactivity with different locations away from the uranium center. The radioactivity in filtered drinking well water used in residential houses was also investigated. Radioactivity were measured and analyzed using low background alpha and beta radioactivity meters, and the data were analysed using SPSS analytical statistical method. Results:In the drinking well water around Bayanwula uranium mine, the activity concentrations of total α and β measured in dry season were 0.024-2.468 Bq/L with a mean of (0.605±0.507) Bq/L and 0.125-1.395 Bq/L with a mean of (0.420±0.235) Bq/L, respectively. The values measured in wet season were 0.049-2.988 Bq/L with a mean of (0.825±0.605) Bq/L for total α and 0.059-1.623 Bq/L with a mean of (0.506±0.265) Bq/L for total β, respectively. The average value of total radioactivity in water samples was lower within 10, 30 and 20 km of the uranium mine in the descending order. Conclusions:The radioactivity in well water around the Bayanwula uranium mine is high, with the total α and β in samples greater in wet season than in the dry season and without elevated levels as compared to the pre-mining background.

The Genome Sequence Archive (GSA) is a data repository for archiving raw sequence data, which provides data storage and sharing services for worldwide scientific communities. Considering explosive data growth with diverse data types, here we present the GSA family by expanding into a set of resources for raw data archive with different purposes, namely, GSA (https://ngdc.cncb.ac.cn/gsa/), GSA for Human (GSA-Human, https://ngdc.cncb.ac.cn/gsa-human/), and Open Archive for Miscellaneous Data (OMIX, https://ngdc.cncb.ac.cn/omix/). Compared with the 2017 version, GSA has been significantly updated in data model, online functionalities, and web interfaces. GSA-Human, as a new partner of GSA, is a data repository specialized in human genetics-related data with controlled access and security. OMIX, as a critical complement to the two resources mentioned above, is an open archive for miscellaneous data. Together, all these resources form a family of resources dedicated to archiving explosive data with diverse types, accepting data submissions from all over the world, and providing free open access to all publicly available data in support of worldwide research activities.
