Breast cancer is a malignant tumor that occurs in the glandular epithelium of the breast, and it is one of the most common tumors that seriously affect the physical and mental health of women. With the aggravation of population aging, the incidence of breast cancer in the elderly has increased year by year in recent years. Elderly patients with breast cancer often have a variety of underlying diseases, and their prognosis is usually related to many factors such as cancer staging, cancer classification, treatment status and health status, with a significant difference in survival rate among patients. Due to the unique clinical and pathological characteristics of elderly patients with breast cancer compared to young and middle-aged patients, there are many studies on the treatment of elderly breast cancer patients in the past, and there are few reviews on the influencing factors of prognosis in elderly patients. This paper reviews the research progress of influencing factors of prognosis in elderly patients with breast cancer from the aspects of clinicopathological factors, treatment options and prognosis factors, in order to provide a reference for clinical determination of treatment options for elderly patients with breast cancer in the future.

Chinese Journal of School Health 2026;47(1):100-103
Objective:
To assess the effect of 12-year-old children s pit and fissure sealants on the health of first permanent molars, so as to provide evidence for optimizing caries prevention strategies among children.
Methods:
In March 2025, a cluster random sampling method was used to conduct oral examinations on 965 students aged 12 from Chengdu s 2021 Comprehensive Intervention Program for Pediatric Oral Diseases. Data from the Comprehensive Intervention System for Children s Oral Diseases were referenced. Participants were divided into a sealed group ( n =755) and an unsealed group ( n =210) based on whether they had received sealants on their first permanent molars. Chi square test or analysis of variance were used to compare indicators such as caries incidence, new caries detection rate, and new caries mean (DMFT increment) between the two groups
Results:
The sealed group showed significantly lower caries incidence, new caries detection rate, and new caries mean (33.38%, 17.65%, 0.59±1.00) compared to the unsealed group (43.81%, 24.70%, 0.87±1.22)( χ 2/F =7.79, 18.26, 9.55, all P <0.05). However, no significant difference was found in the filled teeth ratio between the two groups (20.38% , 20.16%; χ 2=0.01, P =0.94). In girls, the sealed group exhibited significantly lower caries incidence, new caries detection rate, and new caries mean (36.78%, 20.99%, 0.69± 1.10 ) than the unsealed group (57.55%, 33.52%, 1.15±1.29) ( χ 2/F =14.42, 23.76, 10.92, all P <0.05), whereas no significant differences were observed between boys in the sealed (30.47%, 14.85%, 0.50±0.89) and unsealed groups (29.81%, 16.18%, 0.59± 1.08) ( χ 2/F =0.02, 0.41, 0.74, all P >0.05). Boys had significantly lower new caries detection rates and new caries means than girls in both groups ( χ 2/F =16.20, 6.94; 29.93, 11.84, all P <0.05). In urban areas, the sealed group had lower new caries detection rates and new caries means (19.37%, 0.68±1.04) than the unsealed group (24.66%, 0.90±1.20) ( χ 2/F =6.86, 3.94, both P <0.05). In suburban areas, all indicators for the sealed group (24.71%, 13.77%, 0.42±0.87) were significantly lower than those for the unsealed group (38.81%, 24.77%, 0.82±1.28) ( χ 2/F =5.28, 15.36, 6.00, all P <0.05). Indicators from specialized dental institutions (11.25%, 4.81%, 0.16±0.56) were significantly lower than those from county level or above general hospitals (33.33%, 19.11%, 0.38±1.00) and primary healthcare institutions (37.59%, 19.24%, 0.67±1.05) ( χ 2/F =20.99, 34.31, 21.08 , all P <0.01).
Conclusions
The 12-year-old children s pit and fissure sealants effectively reduce the caries incidence in first permanent molars, particularly showing significant effectiveness in girls and suburban children. Intervention strategies should be optimized according to gender.

Annals of Geriatric Medicine and Research 2026;30(2):285-289
We examined the longitudinal hypothalamic morphology in the progression of mild cognitive impairment (MCI). We used multivariable linear modelling to differentiate the structural volumetric change in the hypothalamic nuclei in nine females who developed MCI after 5 years and 61 healthy controls. We found significantly decreased left anterior-inferior (p<0.01), left anterior-superior (p<0.05), and left posterior (p<0.01) hypothalamic regions among females with MCI compared to healthy controls. There was also a significant asymmetry at the anterior-superior hypothalamus (p<0.05) in MCI females than in healthy controls. Thus, the degradation of the specific left hypothalamic subregions and leftward lateralization over time highlight the impact of early- stage MCI on the morphology of hypothalamus.

Chinese Journal of Emergency Medicine 2025;34(3):389-395
Objectives:To evaluate the effect of extended single prone positioning ventilation on survival and weaning rate of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) patients supported by VV-ECMO.Methods:ARDS patients supported by VV-ECMO admitted to Jinhua Central Hospital, the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine and the First Hospital of Jiaxing from September 2014 to May 2025 were retrospectively enrolled into the study. The clinical data, ECMO and ventilator related parameters and outcomes of the patients were collected. The patients were divided into the extended prone positioning group and prone positioning group according to whether the duration of prone position ventilation was greater than 24 h. The clinical data of the two groups were compared to explore the effects on 30-day survival in-hospital survival and ECMO withdraw rate of these patients. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to explore the relationship between the duration of single prone position ventilation and the success of ECMO weaning, 30-day survival and hospital survival. Results:Total of 163 ARDS patients supported by VV-ECMO receiving prone positioning ventilation were included in study, 64 in extended prone positioning group and 72 in prone positioning group. The 30-day survival (54.7% vs. 52.8%) in-hospital survival (51.6% vs. 48.6%) and ECMO withdraw rate (57.8% vs. 61.1%) between the two groups were not statistically different ( P>0.05) as well as the duration of ECMO support [12(10,15)d vs. 11(10,13)d] the duration of ventilation [16(13,18)d vs. 16(12,18)d] the duration of ICU stay [26(15,32)d vs. 26(19,29)d] and the duration of hospital stay [32(15,42)d vs. 34(28,35)d]. Logistic regression analysis revealed that the duration of each prone position ventilation was not associated with successful weaning ( OR=0.979, 95% CI:0.952-1.006), 30-day survival ( OR=1.015, 95% CI: 0.975-1.056) and hospital survival ( OR=1.014, 95% CI: 0.974-1.055) even after adjusting for the severity of illness, age, and type of pneumonia. Conclusions:For ARDS patients supported by VV-ECMO, extended single prone positioning ventilation for more than 24 hours neither increase 30-day survival in-hospital survival and successful ECMO weaning rate, nor shorten ECMO support duration.

Objective:To explore the differences on contraindication information for children in domestic and foreign drug instructions, and provide reference for improving the relevant information in Chinese drug insert sheets. Methods:Chinese drug insert sheets of chemicals and biological products contained in the China Pharmacopoeia 2020 and those of the western medicines in the 2023 China′s Basic Medical Insurance, Work-related Injury Insurance and Childbirth Insurance Drug Catalog were collected; drugs that were marked as contraindication for children were selected and relevant contraindication information in the Chinese drug insert sheets was collected. Instructions of the above-mentioned drugs approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (English labels) were also collected, and the information on pediatric medication was reviewed and compared with the Chinese drug insert sheets. Results:A total of 222 drugs were labeled as contraindication for children in the Chinese drug insert sheets, of which 149 were available for their English labels; 123 drugs (17.5%) were not labeled as contraindication for children in English labels, and 26 (82.5%) were labeled. The 123 drugs that were not labeled as contraindication for children in the English labels included the following conditions: 58 were labeled as contraindication for children of some age in the Chinese drug insert sheets but not in the English labels, and relevant medication information was provided; 40 were labeled as contraindication for children of some age group in the Chinese drug insert sheets but was described as the effectiveness and safety of the use for children have not yet been determined for this age group in the English labels; 13 were labeled as contraindication for children in the Chinese drug insert sheets, but the medication information on children in the English labels was not clear or missing; 12 were labeled as contraindicated for children in Chinese drug insert sheets but not in the English labels, only expressed as not yet determined or not recommended for use, etc., with inconsistent age group. Among the 26 drugs labeled as contraindication for children in both Chinese and English instructions, the contraindication age group were the same in above 2 instructions for 20 drugs, and were inconsistent for the other 6 drugs; reasons for contraindication were described in both the 2 instructions for 17 drugs (13 were consistent, 4 were inconsistent), only in English labels for 8 drugs, and only in Chinese drug insert sheets for 1 drug. Conclusions:Many drugs are labeled as contraindication for children in Chinese drug insert sheets, but reasons for contraindication are rarely explained. Differences in children′s age in contraindications exist for some drugs between the Chinese drug insert sheets and English labels. The information on contraindications for children in Chinese drug insert sheets still needs to be further improved.

Chinese Journal of Dermatology 2025;58(11):1095-1098
With the deepening understanding of the pathogenesis of psoriasis, small-molecule drugs targeting the key Janus kinase (JAK) -tyrosine kinase (TYK) 2 pathway have gained increasing interest. TYK2-related pathways play an important role in the pathogenesis of psoriasis, while they are not involved in modulating broad biological effects, making them one of the potential therapeutic targets for the efficient and safe treatment of psoriasis. How to improve the selectivity and specificity of TYK2 inhibitors to minimize adverse reactions associated with the inhibition of other pathways has been one of the key directions for development of drugs targeting TYK2 in recent years. This review summarizes the role of TYK2 pathway in the pathogenesis of psoriasis, the modes of action of TYK2 inhibitors (competitive or allosteric inhibition), and the latest clinical research progress.
