OBJECTIVE: Circadian rhythm disruption (CRD) is a risk factor that correlates with poor prognosis across multiple tumor types, including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, its mechanism remains unclear. This study aimed to define HCC subtypes based on CRD and explore their individual heterogeneity. METHODS: To quantify CRD, the HCC CRD score (HCCcrds) was developed. Using machine learning algorithms, we identified CRD module genes and defined CRD-related HCC subtypes in The Cancer Genome Atlas liver HCC cohort (n = 369), and the robustness of this method was validated. Furthermore, we used bioinformatics tools to investigate the cellular heterogeneity across these CRD subtypes. RESULTS: We defined three distinct HCC subtypes that exhibit significant heterogeneity in prognosis. The CRD-related subtype with high HCCcrds was significantly correlated with worse prognosis, higher pathological grade, and advanced clinical stages, while the CRD-related subtype with low HCCcrds had better clinical outcomes. We also identified novel biomarkers for each subtype, such as nicotinamide n-methyltransferase and myristoylated alanine-rich protein kinase C substrate-like 1. CONCLUSION We classify the HCC patients into three distinct groups based on circadian rhythm and identify their specific biomarkers. Within these groups greater HCCcrds was associated with worse prognosis. This approach has the potential to improve prediction of an individual's prognosis, guide precision treatments, and assist clinical decision making for HCC patients. Objective To understand the current status of synthetic drug use and associated factors among men who have sex with men (MSM) at high risk of HIV infection.Methods A crosssectional study was conducted in Guangzhou,Wuxi and Shenzhen through January to August 2017.MSM at high risk of HIV infection were recruited from attendants at the health clinics,through internet advertisement and snowball sampling method.Eligible MSM were the ones who had met the following criteria:≥ 18 years old,having either 2 male sex partners,or condomless anal sex with a casual male sex partner,or a STD historg during the past 6 months.Data regarding demographic,sexual behavior,HIV/STD testing history and previous drug use were collected by sely-administered questionnaires.Blood was also drawn for HIV testing.Results Of the 603 MSM at high risk of HIV,25.5％ (154/603,95％CI:22.0％-29.0％) of them had used drugs in the past 6 months,including 29.1％ (88/302,95％CI:24.0％-34.3％) in Guangzhou,26.3％ (40/152,95％CI:19.2％-33.4％)in Shenzhen,and 17.4％ (26/149,95％CI:11.3％-23.6％) in Wuxi.'Rush'(85.1％,131/154) was the most commonly used drug.Results from the multivariable logistic regression revealed that drug use was associated with the following factors:having multiple casual sexual partners (aOR=3.24,95％CI:1.29-7.43) and alcohol use (aOR=1.78,95％CI:1.12-2.80) in the past 6 months after adjusting for age,education and monthly income.Conclusions Drug use seemed common among MSM population at high risk of HIV infection and was associated with higher risk behavior that leading to HIV infection.Synthetic drug use among MSM deserved more attention.

Because of the characteristics such as accurate, efficient and individuation, 3D printing is being widely applied to manufacturing industry, and being gradually expanded into the medical field. Diseases of chest wall is a common type in thoracic surgery, and surgery is a proper treatment to this kind of disease. For the past few years, 3D printing is being gradually applied in surgery of chest wall diseases. The article mainly makes a statement of two parts that including the possibility to apply 3D printing including chest wall reconstruction and chest wall orthopedic, and to analyze the possibility and application prospect of applying 3D printing to the chest wall disease.

Since smart phones have been developed, significant advances in the function of mobile phone due to the development of software, hardware and accessories have been reached. Till now, smart phones have been engaged in daily life with an increasing impact. As a new medical model, mobile phone medicine is emerging and has found wide spread applications in medicine, especially in diagnosing, monitoring and screening various diseases. In addition, mo bile phone medical application shows great potential trend to improve healthcare in resource-limited regions due to its advantageous features of portability and information communication capability. Nowadays, the scientific and technological issues related to mobile phone medicine have attracted worldwide attention. In this review, we summarize state-of-the-art advances of mobile phone medicine with focus on its diagnostics applications in order to expand the fields of their applications and promote healthcare informatization.

To develop standard in vitro chondrosarcoma models, we synthesized three hydrogels (i. e., PDMAAm, PNaAMPS and PMETAC) and investigated the influence of Young's modulus, swelling ratio and electric charges on the behavior of chondrosarcoma cells seeded on the hydrogels, including morphology, adhesion and aggregation. Results showed that the morphology of chondrosarcoma cells at 6h was dependent on the charges of hydrogels; cells present spindle-shaped and round-shaped morphology on negative charged and neutral hydrogel, respectively, while no cells spreaded on positive charged hydrogel. Chondrosarcoma cells formed aggregates on neutral PDMAAm after further culture. The hydrogels can be synthesized easily and has the characteristics of ease at use with defined components, which holds great potential for developing standard chondrosarcoma models in vitro.

Skin thermal damage or skin burns are the most commonly encountered type of trauma in civilian and military communities. Besides, advances in laser, microwave and similar technologies have led to recent developments of thermal treatments for disease and damage involving skin tissue, where the objective is to induce thermal damage precisely within targeted tissue structures but without affecting the surrounding, healthy tissue. Further, extended pain sensation induced by thermal damage has also brought great problem for burn patients. Thus, it is of great importance to quantify the thermal damage in skin tissue. In this paper, the available models and experimental methods for quantification of thermal damage in skin tissue are discussed.

SUMMARY Constitutional full trisomy 21 is a common disorder in which abnormal spermatogenesis has been previously described. However, constitutional mosaic trisomy 21 in an otherwise normal but infertile male has not been explored. We report a case with low level mosaic trisomy 21 in a non-syndrome but azoospermic patient. We also propose that the patient's azoospermia may be related to the constitutional mosaic trisomy 21 and thus resulting in a late onset of testicular failure.

Objective To test the hypothesis that collagen is a significant determinant of skin viscoelasticity,with particular attention paid to the thermomechanical properties of skin under dynamic loading.Methods Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) was used to detect the denaturation of dermal collagen and assess its thermal stability.The DSC results obtained with various heating rates were used to derive the Arrhenius parameters in burn damage integration,which were subsequently used to calculate the degree of denatured collagen in the skin.The dynamic mechanical analyzer (DMA) was employed to evaluate the changes in skin viscoelastic properties as a function of temperature and collagen damage.Results The results showed remarkable changes in storage modulus,possibly due to the release of water,whilst there was no significant change in loss factor.Conclusion These results suggest that at a fixed frequency the denaturation of collagen molecules has a large effect on the viscoelastic behavior of skin tissue.
