ObjectiveThis paper aims to evaluate the intervention effect of Gandou Fumu Decoction （GDFMD） in treating hepatolenticular degeneration with liver fibrosis of liver-kidney deficiency and phlegm-blood stasis syndrome， thereby providing evidence-based medical evidence for the treatment of Wilson's disease （WD）-related liver fibrosis with traditional Chinese medicine through clinical efficacy analysis. MethodsA total of 70 patients with WD-related liver fibrosis of liver-kidney deficiency and phlegm-blood stasis syndrome meeting the inclusion criteria were enrolled from Anhui Provincial Hospital of TCM from October 1， 2023， to October 1， 2024. Participants were divided into a control group and an observation group， with 35 cases in each group. The control group received conventional copper chelation therapy with sodium dimercaptopropanesulfonate （DMPS）. On this basis， the observation group was additionally administered GDFMD orally. Each treatment course lasted eight days， for a total of four treatment courses. Efficacy evaluations were performed before treatment and after the second and fourth treatment courses， respectively. The clinical efficacy and safety of GDFMD in the treatment of WD-related liver fibrosis were assessed by comparing the changes in liver stiffness measurement （LSM）， liver serological markers ［alanine aminotransferase （ALT）， aspartate aminotransferase （AST）， type Ⅳ collagen （C-Ⅳ）， laminin （LN）， N-terminal propeptide of type Ⅲ procollagen （PⅢNP）， and hyaluronic acid （HA）］， fibrosis index based on 4 factors （FIB-4）， AST to platelet ratio index （APRI）， unified Wilson's disease rating scale part Ⅱ （UWDRS-Ⅱ）， traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） syndrome score， 24-hour urinary copper， and safety indicators between the two groups before and after treatment. ResultsCompared with those before treatment， LSM levels decreased in both groups after two and four treatment courses （P<0.05）. Compared with those after treatment， there was no statistically significant difference in the improvement of LSM levels in the observation group after two treatment courses， and the improvement of LSM levels in the observation group was more obvious after four treatment courses （P<0.05）. Compared with those before treatment， the levels of HA， LN， PⅢNP， and C-Ⅳ decreased in both groups after two and four treatment courses （P<0.05）. Compared with those after treatment， there was no statistically significant difference in the improvement of the C-Ⅳ levels in the observation group after two treatment courses， and the levels of HA， LN， and PⅢNP were more obvious （P<0.05）. After four treatment courses in the observation group， the levels of HA， LN， PⅢNP， and C-Ⅳ were improved more significantly （P<0.05）. Compared with those before treatment， ALT and AST levels decreased in both groups after two and four treatment courses （P<0.05）. Compared with the control group after treatment， there was no statistically significant difference in the improvement of ALT and AST levels in the observation group after two treatment courses， and the improvement of ALT and AST levels in the observation group was more obvious after four treatment courses （P<0.05）. Compared with those before treatment， APRI score and FIB-4 index level decreased in both groups after two and four treatment courses （P<0.05）. Compared with those in control group after treatment， there was no statistically significant difference in the improvement of APRI score and FIB-4 index level in the observation group after two treatment courses， and the APRI score in the observation group was more obvious after four treatment courses （P<0.05）， with no statistically significant improvement in the FIB-4 index difference. Compared with those before treatment， the levels of TCM syndrome scores decreased in both groups after two and four treatment courses （P<0.05）. Compared with that of the control group after treatment， there was no statistically significant difference in the improvement of the level of TCM syndrome scores in the observation group after two treatment courses， and the improvement of the level of TCM syndrome scores in the observation group was more obvious after four treatment courses （P<0.05）. Compared with those before treatment， the UWDRS-Ⅱ scores in both groups after two treatment courses were not improved obviously， and the UWDRS-Ⅱ scores in both groups decreased after four treatment courses （P<0.05）. Compared with those of the control group after treatment， there was no statistically significant difference in the improvement of the UWDRS-Ⅱ scores in the observation group after two treatment courses， and the improvement of the UWDRS-Ⅱ scores in the observation group after four treatment courses was more obvious （P<0.05）. Compared with those before treatment， the 24-h urine copper levels were significantly higher in both groups after two and four treatment courses （P<0.05）. Compared with those in the control group after treatment， the 24-h urine copper levels in the observation group were significantly higher after two and four treatment courses （P<0.01）. After two treatment courses， the 24-h urine copper level in the observation group showed a gradual decreasing trend， although it was higher than that before treatment. After four treatment courses， the control group had an improvement rate of 91.43%， an effective rate of 34.29%， and an apparent rate of 2.86%. The observation group had an improvement rate of 94.29%， an effective rate of 71.43%， and an apparent rate of 8.57%. The efficacy of the observation group was better than that of the control group （P<0.05）. Conclusion① The efficacy of GDFMD combined with DMPS therapy in patients with WD-related liver fibrosis of liver-kidney deficiency and phlegm-blood stasis syndrome is significantly better than that of single DMPS therapy， and the advantages of the combined therapy are more obvious with the prolongation of the treatment cycle. ② GDFMD combined with the DMPS therapy program in the long-term application exhibits no obvious adverse reactions with good safety， which is worthy of clinical popularization and application.

Compared with the control group after treatment， there was no statistically significant difference in the improvement of ALT and AST levels in the observation group after two treatment courses， and the improvement of ALT and AST levels in the observation group was more obvious after four treatment courses （P<0.05）. Compared with those before treatment， APRI score and FIB-4 index level decreased in both groups after two and four treatment courses （P<0.05）. Compared with those in control group after treatment， there was no statistically significant difference in the improvement of APRI score and FIB-4 index level in the observation group after two treatment courses， and the APRI score in the observation group was more obvious after four treatment courses （P<0.05）， with no statistically significant improvement in the FIB-4 index difference. Compared with those before treatment， the levels of TCM syndrome scores decreased in both groups after two and four treatment courses （P<0.05）. Compared with that of the control group after treatment， there was no statistically significant difference in the improvement of the level of TCM syndrome scores in the observation group after two treatment courses， and the improvement of the level of TCM syndrome scores in the observation group was more obvious after four treatment courses （P<0.05）. Compared with those before treatment， the UWDRS-Ⅱ scores in both groups after two treatment courses were not improved obviously， and the UWDRS-Ⅱ scores in both groups decreased after four treatment courses （P<0.05）. Compared with those of the control group after treatment， there was no statistically significant difference in the improvement of the UWDRS-Ⅱ scores in the observation group after two treatment courses， and the improvement of the UWDRS-Ⅱ scores in the observation group after four treatment courses was more obvious （P<0.05）. Compared with those before treatment， the 24-h urine copper levels were significantly higher in both groups after two and four treatment courses （P<0.05）. Compared with those in the control group after treatment， the 24-h urine copper levels in the observation group were significantly higher after two and four treatment courses （P<0.01）. After two treatment courses， the 24-h urine copper level in the observation group showed a gradual decreasing trend， although it was higher than that before treatment. After four treatment courses， the control group had an improvement rate of 91.43%， an effective rate of 34.29%， and an apparent rate of 2.86%. ObjectiveTo analyze the research status and development trends of non-pharmacological therapies for post-stroke spasticity (PSS) over the past two decades. MethodsRelevant literatures on non-pharmacological rehabilitation of PSS published from January, 2004 to June, 2024 were retrieved from Web of Science Core Collection. CiteSpace 6.3.R6 and VOSviewer 1.6.18 were used for visualization analysis. ResultsA total of 780 publications were included. The annual number of publications showed an overall upward trend. China, the USA, and Italy contributed the highest number of publications. The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and researcher Noureddin Nakhostin Ansari were identified as the most influential institution and author, respectively. High-frequency keywords and cluster labels included electric stimulation, transcranial magnetic stimulation, robot and acupuncture. ConclusionOver the past 20 years, researches on non-pharmacological therapies for PSS have remained active, with hotspots focusing on diverse interventions such as electrical stimulation, magnetic stimulation and robot-assisted therapy.

Objective: To observe the distribution characteristics of sex differences in physical growth among children and adolescents aged 6-15 years in Taiwan, China from 2007 to 2024, so as to provide clues for improving growth assessment standards and promoting the health of children and adolescents. Methods: Using publicly available height and weight data for children and adolescents aged 6-15 years in Taiwan, China from 2007 to 2024 released by the statistics agency of the Taiwan education authorities, sex difference indices were analyzed. Growth curve charts and Pearson correlation were used to analyze the correlation between height/weight and year, as well as trends of change with age and year. These were compared with data from the 8th National Survey on Students Constitution and Health in 2019, covering Han and ethnic minority groups aged 6-15 years in mainland China. Results: The sex difference index for height among children and adolescents in Taiwan, China ranged from -1.20% to 6.67%, showed a trend of decreasing first and then increasing with age. The sex difference index for weight ranged from 3.76% to 19.15%, exhibited an age related trend of a slight initial increase, followed by a decrease, and then an increase. The sex difference indices for height in the 12-15 age groups and for weight in the 15-year-old group were positively correlated with the year ( r =0.74, 0.66, 0.61, 0.92 ; 0.63), while the sex difference indices for weight in the 6-8 age groups were negatively correlated with the year ( r =-0.71, -0.77, -0.53) (all P <0.05). In 2024, the height of children and adolescents in Taiwan, China increased gradually with age, but the growth rate for girls slowed down after age 12. A "two crossover" was observed in height between boys and girls, with boys being taller than girls in the 6-9 age range and after age 12. Weight for both sexes gradually increases with age, but boys have greater weight than girls at all ages. In 2019, the sexual differences in body size among children and adolescents in the Taiwan region, China (the sex difference indices for height:-0.96% to 6.49%；the sex difference indices for weight:4.69%-17.89%) fell within the variation ranges of counterparts in mainland China (the sex difference indices for height:-5.43% to 7.69%；the sex difference indices for weight:-10.12% to 21.56%). Conclusion The sex differences in physical growth among children and adolescents in Taiwan, China are dynamically changing with age and over the long term.

Objective To understand the epidemiological characteristics of a clustered outbreak of severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome(SFTS)as well as the ecological tick monitoring results for Zibo City, and to provide a scientific basis for formulating prevention and control strategies. Methods A case definition was cited before epidemic investigations were performed. Epidemiological investigations were performed on the index cases and their close contacts. Blood samples were collected from cases and close contacts, and quantitative real-time RT-PCR was used to detect SFTS virus(SFTSV)nucleic acid sequences. A retrospective cohort study was conducted to analyze risk factors and develop prevention and control strategies. Results This clustered outbreak involved two index cases and six close contacts with no deaths. Case A exhibited symptom onset on July 26. SFTS was confirmed on August 2. Case B exhibited symptom onset on August 1, and SFTS was confirmed on August 3. Patient B reported a recent history of tick bites. In both index cases, the incubation period for SFTS was inferred to be 7-12 days. The time interval from symptom onset to clinical diagnosis in the two cases ranged from 2-8 days, with an average period of 5 days. SFTSV nucleic acid test result were positive for both patients, whereas all six close contacts tested negative. All captured ticks tested negative for SFTSV using quantitative real-time RT-PCR. The densities of parasitic and free-living ticks in the emergency monitoring area around the cases were 12.60 and 4.65 ticks/(flag·100 m). In 2024, the average parasitic tick index and free-living tick density index were 4.21 and 2.43 ticks/(flag ·100 m)in Yiyuan County, respectively. Conclusions No evidence of human-to-human transmission was found in the assessed SFTS clusters. The infections were likely acquired through tick bites during fieldwork, and the risk of a subsequent outbreak spreading was low.

Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is one of the most prevalent and vision-threatening microvascular complications of diabetes mellitus, yet its pathogenesis extends far beyond vascular injury alone. As the retina is among the most energy-demanding tissues in the body, its neurons, glial cells, pigment epithelial cells, pericytes, and endothelial cells are highly dependent on mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation to maintain visual signal transduction, ionic homeostasis, and neurovascular integrity. This review summarizes current evidence indicating that mitochondrial dysfunction is not merely a downstream consequence of chronic hyperglycemia, but a central pathogenic hub that initiates, amplifies, and perpetuates retinal neurovascular degeneration in DR. Persistent hyperglycemia activates multiple abnormal metabolic pathways, including the polyol pathway, hexosamine pathway, protein kinase C signaling, advanced glycation end-product formation, and angiotensin II-related responses. Although these pathways differ mechanistically, they converge on excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation, antioxidant depletion, and mitochondrial injury. Under diabetic stress, electron transport chain overload promotes mitochondrial ROS leakage, damages mitochondrial DNA, disrupts membrane potential, and impairs the transcription of key respiratory chain components. In parallel, mitochondrial quality-control systems become progressively compromised. The balance between fusion and fission shifts toward pathological fragmentation through reduced MFN1/2 and OPA1 activity and enhanced DRP1-mediated fission. Mitochondrial biogenesis is suppressed through inhibition of the AMPK/SIRT1/PGC-1α/NRF1/TFAM axis, while mitophagy changes from an early compensatory response to a later state of autophagic flux blockade and accumulation of dysfunctional mitochondria. Importantly, damaged mitochondria serve as signal amplifiers linking metabolic stress to inflammation and programmed cell death. Mitochondrial ROS, oxidized mitochondrial DNA, calcium overload, cardiolipin exposure, and membrane permeabilization activate interrelated death pathways, including intrinsic apoptosis, ferroptosis, and pyroptosis. Cytochrome C and apoptosis-inducing factor promote caspase-dependent and caspase-independent apoptosis; iron dyshomeostasis, glutathione depletion, GPX4 dysfunction, and lipid peroxidation drive ferroptosis; and mitochondrial danger signals activate the NLRP3 inflammasome and gasdermin-dependent pyroptosis. These pathways jointly damage the retinal neurovascular unit and contribute to pericyte loss, endothelial barrier breakdown, Müller cell dysfunction, retinal ganglion cell apoptosis, retinal pigment epithelial injury, and photoreceptor degeneration. This review also emphasizes the role of epigenetic regulation in stabilizing mitochondrial pathology. DNA methylation, histone modifications, and non-coding RNAs interact to silence mitochondrial protective genes, alter antioxidant responses, and maintain the “metabolic memory” of DR even after glycemic normalization. Therefore, mitochondrial dysfunction should be understood as a dynamic, multidimensional network rather than a single pathological event. Current clinical approaches, such as laser photocoagulation, intravitreal anti-VEGF therapy, and vitrectomy, mainly target advanced vascular lesions and are limited by invasiveness, incomplete responsiveness, recurrence, and potential adverse effects. Therapeutically, strategies targeting mitochondrial ROS, restoring mitochondrial dynamics, enhancing biogenesis, regulating mitophagy, inhibiting inflammasome activation, correcting epigenetic abnormalities, and improving targeted delivery systems show promising potential. However, major translational barriers remain, including retinal cell heterogeneity, stage-specific mitochondrial responses, insufficient organelle-specific drug delivery, and long-term safety concerns. A deeper understanding of mitochondrial regulatory networks may support earlier, more precise, and multi-target interventions for preventing or slowing DR progression.

Abstract To clarify the service targets, service contents, and safeguard mechanisms of the basic public service program for student vision health management, the study grounded in the current status of child and adolescent myopia prevention and control in China and integrated with the practical experience and innovative practices of Wuhan National Demonstration Area for Student Vision Health Management, takes education as the main thread and schools as the base, consolidating resources from multiple stakeholders including education administrative departments, schools, families, and professional technical service institutions. Centering on four core components—vision health education, monitoring and record keeping, risk prevention and control, and dynamic management, the study constructs a multi tiered basic public service system for vision health management of primary and secondary school students. It further proposes the use of an intelligent management platform and a "three tier color coded early warning" mechanism (red, yellow, blue) to prevent and control student myopia at the source, providing schools with replicable and operable implementation pathways to enhance the level of student vision health management.

ObjectiveTo explore the pharmacological mechanism involved in the treatment of allergic cough （AC） by Xiaoer Huatan Zhike granules （XEHT） based on proteomics and network pharmacology. MethodsAfter sensitization by intraperitoneal injection of 1 mL suspension containing 2 mg ovalbumin （OVA） and 100 mg aluminum hydroxide， a guinea pig model of allergic cough was constructed by nebulization with 1% OVA. The modeled guinea pigs were randomized into the model， low-， medium- and high-dose （1， 5， 20 g·kg^-1， respectively） XEHT， and sodium montelukast （1 mg·kg^-1） groups （n=6）， and another 6 guinea pigs were selected as the blank group. The guinea pigs in drug administration groups were administrated with the corresponding drugs by gavage， and those in the blank and model groups received the same volume of normal saline by gavage， 1 time·d^-1. After 10 consecutive days of drug administration， the guinea pigs were stimulated by 1% OVA nebulization， and the coughs were observed. The pathological changes in the lung tissue were observed by hematoxylin-eosin staining. The enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was performed to measure the levels of C-reactive protein （CRP）， interleukin-6 （IL-6）， tumor necrosis factor-α （TNF-α）， superoxide dismutase （SOD）， and malondialdehyde （MDA） in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid （BALF） and immunoglobulin G （IgG） and immunoglobulin A （IgA） in the serum. Immunohistochemistry （IHC） was employed to observe the expression of IL-6 and TNF-α in the lung tissue. Transmission electron microscopy was employed observe the alveolar type Ⅱ epithelial cell ultrastructure. Real-time PCR was employed to determine the mRNA levels of IL-6， interleukin-1β （IL-1β）， and TNF-α in the lung tissue. Label-free proteomics was used to detect the differential proteins among groups. Network pharmacology was used to predict the targets of XEHT in treating AC. The Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes （KEGG） enrichment analysis was performed to search for the same pathways from the results of proteomics and network pharmacology. ResultsCompared with the blank group， the model group showed increased coughs （P<0.01）， elevated levels of CRP， TNF-α， IL-6， and MDA and lowered level of SOD in the BALF （P<0.05， P<0.01）， elevated levels of IgA and IgG in the serum （P<0.05， P<0.01）， congestion of the lung tissue and infiltration of inflammatory cells， increased expression of IL-6 and TNF-α （P<0.01）， large areas of low electron density edema in type Ⅱ epithelial cells， obvious swelling and vacuolization of the organelles， karyopyknosis or sparse and dissolved chromatin， and up-regulated mRNA levels of IL-6， IL-1β， and TNF-α （P<0.01）. Compared with the model group， the drug administration groups showed reduced coughs （P<0.01）， lowered levels of CRP， TNF-α， IL-6， and MDA and elevated level of SOD in the BALF （P<0.05， P<0.01）， alleviated lung tissue congestion， inflammatory cell infiltration， and type Ⅱ epithelial cell injury， and decreased expression of IL-6 and TNF-α （P<0.01）. In addition， the medium-dose XEHT group and the montelukast sodium group showcased lowered serum levels of IgA and IgG （P<0.05， P<0.01）. The medium- and high-dose XEHT groups and the montelukast sodium showed down-regulated mRNA levels of IL-6， IL-1β， and TNF-α and the low-dose XEHT group showed down-regulated mRNA levels of IL-6 and TNF-α （P<0.05， P<0.01）. Phospholipase D， mammalian target of rapamycin （mTOR）， and epidermal growth factor receptor family of receptor tyrosine kinase （ErbB） signaling pathways were the common pathways predicted by both proteomics and network pharmacology. ConclusionProteomics combined with network pharmacology reveal that XEHT can ameliorate AC by regulating the phospholipase D， mTOR， and ErbB signaling pathways.

Objective: To investigate the characteristics of public health emergencies in Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province from 2014 to 2023, so as to provide the reference for prevention and control of public health emergencies. Methods: Data of public health emergencies and related information in Jinhua City from 2014 to 2023 were collected through Emergency Public Reporting System of Chinese Disease Prevention and Control Information System. Attack rates, and distribution of time, areas and places were descriptively analyzed. Results: A total of 276 public health emergencies were reported in Jinhua City from 2014 to 2023. There were 10 324 reported cases and 7 deaths, with an attack rate of 0.32%. There were 53 Ⅳ-level (19.20%) and 223 unclassified public health emergencies (80.80%). Infectious disease emergencies were predominant types, accounting for 97.83% (270 events). The three most common infectious disease emergencies were other infectious diarrhea (42.03%), influenza (21.01%) and COVID-19 (16.30%). The reported public health emergencies peaked in November and December, with 66 and 45 events reported, respectively. The three most counties (cities, districts) included Yiwu City, Wucheng District and Lanxi City, accounting for 24.28% (67 events), 18.48% (51 events) and 11.96% (33 events), respectively. School and preschool institutions were predominant places where public health emergencies occurred (198 events, 71.74%). Conclusions The public health emergencies in Jinhua City from 2014 to 2023 were Ⅳ-level and unclassified emergencies, and infectious disease emergencies were predominant. November and December were the peak reporting periods, and schools and preschool institutions were the main places where these events occurred.

[Objective] To explore the risk factors of postoperative fever in primary aldosteronism (PA) patients. [Methods] Clinical data of 116 PA patients undergoing adrenalectomy in Peking University People's Hospital during Jan.2018 and Jul.2021 were retrospectively analyzed.Based on postoperative body temperature, the patients were divided into fever group (body temperature ≥38.0 ℃, n=41) and non-fever group (body temperature <38.0 ℃, n=75). Clinical features were analyzed between the two groups.The fever group was subdivided into low fever group (38.0 ℃≤body temperature <38.5 ℃, n=19) and high fever group (body temperature ≥38.5 ℃, n=22). The clinical data of the subgroups were compared. [Results] The incidence of postoperative fever was 35.3%.Logistic regression analysis showed that lower lowest potassium on records (OR=0.419, 95%CI: 0.196-0.894, P=0.025), lower high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) (OR=0.112, 95%CI: 0.018-0.687, P=0.018), and postoperative adrenal insufficiency (OR=4.158, 95%CI: 1.731-9.989, P=0.001) were independent risk factors for postoperative fever.There was no difference between the high and low fever groups.After surgery, infection occurred in 1 patient, adrenal insufficiency in 40 (34.5%) patients, but long-term follow-up indicated that no patients needed lifelong glucocorticoid replacement. [Conclusion] Fever is a common postoperative complication in PA patients, most likely due to transient adrenal insufficiency.Glucocorticoid supplementation should be administered appropriately and timely based on laboratory tests and clinical manifestations.Evaluation of adrenal function is highly recommended for patients undergoing adrenalectomy.
