Background and Aims:Portal hypertensive colopathy(PHC)is a common complication of portal hypertension in patients with liver cirrhosis. It may lead to gastrointestinal bleeding, yet its underlying pathogenesis remains unclear, and systematic research in China is limited. This study aimed to analyze the colonoscopic features in cirrhotic patients and to explore their associations with relevant clinical factors. Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on 99 cirrhotic patients who underwent colonoscopy at Xingtai People's Hospital between July 2020 and December 2024.Colonoscopy,gastroscopy,and clinical data were reviewed.Differences between patients with PHC and those without were compared in terms of sex,Child-Pugh classification, platelet count, presence of ascites, and hepatic encephalopathy.Multivariate logistic regression was used to identify independent risk factors for PHC.Additionally, colorectal lesion detection rates were compared with those of a contemporaneous cohort of 444 participants undergoing national colorectal cancer(CRC)screening at the same center. Results:Among the 105 patients with cirrhosis, the detection rates of PHC,adenomatous polyps, and CRC were 32.32%,28.28%,and 3.03%,respectively,while only 37.37%had no abnormal findings. No serious colonoscopy-related complications were observed. The proportion of males in the PHC group was significantly higher than in the non-PHC group(78.13%vs.50.75%,P=0.009).The PHC group also showed significantly higher rates of Child-Pugh class B/C,and lower platelet count(all P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of ascites and hepatic encephalopathy between the two groups(P>0.05).Multivariate analysis identified that male gender(OR=3.307,95%CI=1.219-8.971)and Child-Pugh class B/C(OR=2.867,95%CI=1.046-7.861)were independent risk factors for PHC.Compared to the CRC screening cohort, cirrhotic patients had a similar adenoma detection rate(28.28%vs.25.00%,P=0.499),and a slightly higher colorectal cancer detection rate that did not reach statistical significance(3.03%vs.0.68%,P=0.135).Conclusion:Colonoscopy revealed a high rate of abnormalities in cirrhotic patients, with PHC and adenomatous polyps being the most common findings.Routine colonoscopy is recommended for cirrhotic patients without contraindications, especially males, and patients with Child-Pugh class B/C,to facilitate early detection of PHC and precancerous lesions, thereby reducing the risk of lower gastrointestinal bleeding and missed diagnoses of malignancy.

Atrial septal defect (ASD) is a congenital heart disease that causes blood communication between the left and right ventricles due to partial atrial septal tissue defects, accounting for about 13% of all heart malformations. Secondary ASD is the most common type of ASD and can generally be treated with minimally invasive closure. At present, the commonly used minimally invasive methods in clinical practice mainly include X-ray-guided percutaneous occlusion, transesophageal ultrasound-guided transthoracic occlusion and ultrasound-guided percutaneous occlusion. This review focuses on the basic research process of occluder materials, and advantages and disadvantages of three different surgical methods.

Objective:To investigate the optical design effect of a new type of LED surgical light on navy ships. Methods:With Lighttools, an optical simulation software, the design of the total internal reflection (TIR) lens was optimized, the lighting characteristics of the surgical light on navy ships were analyzed, and the lighting effect of such design in the onboard operating room was simulated. Results:A TIR lens can efficiently collect 78% LED light. After secondary design, the central illuminance of the light spot of the LED lamp beads reached 9.1 klx, that of one single light was 42.5 klx, and that of the lighting system was 200.0 klx. The spot diameter of the surgical light used on navy ships was 238 mm with a uniform spot distribution. Conclusion:The lighting indicators of the new LED surgical light with TIR lens designed for navy ships can meet the industry standards.

[Objective] To purify and characterize a novel factor X activator,Fve-1 from Daboia russelli siamensis (Myanmar) venom.[ Methods]F V e-1 was purified by ion-exchange chromatography and gel filtration. The hemostatic activity of F V e-1 was determined based on chromogenic substrates. The fibrinogen-clotting activity of F V e-1 was also determined.Thermal stability, pH stability, enzyme activity, and inhibition of F V e- 1 were determined by its remaining procoagulant activity.N-treminal sequence was determined by the method of automated Edman degradation.[ Results ]F V e-1 was achieved by chromatography with a molecular weight of 13,808 and an isoelectric point of 4.6. The hemostatic activity of 0.5 mg Fve-1 was equal to that of 1.5625 u thrombin or that of 54.93 ng RVV X. F V e-1 primarily activated F X, but did not affect on prothrombin and fibrinogen. The suitable pH and temperature range of F V e-1 was 6.5-7.5 and 25-60 ℃,respectively. The activity of F V e-1 was enhanced by Ca2+ and inhibited by EDTA and DTT.The N-terminal sequence of F V e-1 was NH2-N-L-Y-Q-F-G-E-M-I-N.[Conclusion] F V e-1 is a factor X-activating enzyme, which could activate FX to FX a,but have minimal effect on prothrombin and fibrinogen.
