Objective To observe the synergistic effect of Shengxian Huaxian Prescription and its disassembled prescription on pulmonary fibrosis; To explore whether its mechanism is related to regulating the STAT6/PPAR-y pathway to promote polarization of M2 type macrophages towards M1 type. Methods Ten SD rats were randomly selected from 70 rats as blank group, and the remaining rats were re-established pulmonary fibrosis model by intratracheal infusion of bleomycin. After modeling, the rats were divided into model group, positive group,Shengxian Huaxian Prescription group,Shengxian group,Tongluo group and Bushen group, with 10 rats in each group.Shengxian Huaxian Prescription group,Shengxian group,Tongluo group and Bushen group were given 12.60,7.65,3.60 and 2.25 g/kg of corresponding TCM solution, respectively;the positive group was given 0.12 g/kg of pirfenidone suspension;the blank group and the model group were given equal volume of normal saline, once a day,for consecutive 28 days. The lung function of rats was detected, the contents of IL-6 and TGF-β1 in serum were detected by ELISA,the pathological changes in lung tissue were observed by Masson staining, the expression of CD68,iNOS and CD206,Arg-1 in lung tissue were detected by immunofluorescence, the expression of SOCS1,SOCS3,STAT6,p-STAT6 and PPAR-γ in lung tissue were detected by Western blot. Results Compared with the blank group, the PEF,PIF and EF50 in model group rats significantly decreased, and the contents of serum IL-6 and TGF-β1 significantly increased,Masson staining showed a large amount of collagen fiber deposition,Ashcroft score significantly increased,CD206,Arg-1,STAT6,p-STAT6,PPAR-y protein expression significantly increased(P<0.01),the expressions of SOCS1 and SOCS3 protein significantly decreased(P<0.01),while the expression of CD68 and iNOS were not significantly changed(P>0.05).Compared with the model group, the PEF,PIF and EF50 in all administration groups significantly increased, and the contents of serum IL-6 and TGF-β1 significantly decreased, collagen fiber deposition in lung tissue were decreased to varying degree,Ashcroft score significantly decreased, the expression of CD206,Arg-1,STAT6,p-STAT6 and PPAR-γ protein significantly decreased(P<0.01),the expressions of CD68,iNOS,SOCS1 and SOCS3 protein significantly increased(P<0.05).The above indicators showed the most significant changes in Shengxian Huaxian Prescription group, followed by Shengxian group(P<0.01,P<0.05).Conclusion Both Shengxian Huaxian Prescription and its disassembled prescription have anti pulmonary fibrosis effects, and their mechanism may related to regulating the STAT6/PPAR-y pathway and promoting polarization of M2 type macrophages towards M1 type.Shengxian Huaxian Prescription group has the best effect, while Shengxian group play an important role in the prescription, and the compatibility between each group has a synergistic effect.

The matrix gamma-carboxyglutamate protein(MGP),a vitamin K-dependent protein, inhibits arte-rial calcification. The substance's ability to inhibit calcification is linked to its post-translational modifications,specifical-ly γ-glutamyl carboxylation and phosphorylation. The molecular mechanism of the calcification inhibitor remains unclear due to its low solubility and complicated post-translational modifications. In this section,we summarize current research and ongoing debates about post-translational modifications of MGP and its mechanism for inhibiting calcification. We re-viewed recent research on diseases associated with MGP deficiency, such as cardiovascular disease, chronic kidney dis-ease,and Keutel syndrome.Hopefully, this review can help us understand how MGP functions as a vascular calcification inhibitor and identify potential treatments for diseases resulting from its dysfunction.

American medical colleges attach great importance to the humanistic education. The rich humanities curriculum is fully integrated into the teaching practice thus the mutual penetration of medicine and the humanities is achieved. They have specific and detailed examination evaluation system and the teaching method was more practical and participatory.By contrast, nost of the medical colleges in our country neglect the humanities construction and the cultivation of medical students' humanistic spirit. The coverage of the humanities curriculum is relatively narrow and the faculty is insufficient. We should promote the development of humanistic cducation, attach importance to the construction of medical humanities, set up appropriate curriculum system, increase the investment in faculty and reform the teaching method and examination method.

Objective:To explore the feasibility of screening for major fetal heart disease by training sonographers in township or county level hospitals .Methods:Training of B ultrasound scan for congeni-tal heart defects was given to the sonographers from one county hospital , and thirteen township hospitals ( or the district hospitals ) , and training of fetal echocardiography was given to sonographers from four city/county hospitals. The trained sonographers who had passed the examinations and had obtained quali-fications after six months of independent practice began to screen fetal congenital heart defects .To evalu-ate the effectiveness , sensitivity and specificity of screening was calculated by using the diagnosis of ex-pert neonatal/fetal echocardiographers as the gold standard .Results: A total of 3 425 fetuses received one fetal B ultrasound screening , one fetal echocardiography and one neonatal echocardiography from April 1, 2004 to December 31, 2005.One hundred and sixty-five B ultrasound screening images (4.9%) from township hospitals and fifty-six fetal echocardiography images (1.7%) from county or city centers couldn ’ t be reviewed because of poor quality .The sensitivity of fetal B ultrasound screening in the township and county hospitals was 30%and 0, and the specificity 93.3%and 99.9%, respectively. Nine fetuses with a major congenital heart disease were eventually found by the trained sonographers , and two cases were misdiagnosed and two unnoticed .The total sensitivity and specificity of fetal echocardio-graphy were 81.8% and 99.9%, respectively. The sensitivity in the county and city hospitals was 66 .7% and 100%, respectively .The specificity in the county and city hospitals was 99 .9%and 100%, respectively .Conclusion: Under the current circumstances , township hospitals are unable to perform effective fetal cardiac screening .Screening on fetal congenital heart disease is suggested to be taken by trained sonographers in county and city level medical centers .

OBJECTIVETo establish the growth curve of Siraitia grosvenorii and analyze the correlation between seed and growth of fruit.
METHODThe growth curve fitting function was applied for the study of correlation between seed and fruit growth.
RESULTThe significant positive correlation existed between seed and horizontal diameter x vertical diameter, not between seed and flesh weight of single fruit.
CONCLUSIONThe growth curve is a reciprocal function, and seed is one of major factors to influencing the size of fruits and the shape of fruit.
