ObjectiveTo study on the different therapeutic effects and potential mechanisms of Rhei Radix et Rhizoma（RH） before and after steaming with wine on constipation model mice. MethodsFifty-four male ICR mice were randomly divided into control group， model group， lactulose group（1.5 mg·kg^-1）， high， medium and low dose groups of RH and RH steaming with wine（PRH）（8， 4， 1 g·kg^-1）. Except for the control group， the constipation model was replicated by gavage of loperamide hydrochloride（6 mg·kg^-1） in the other groups. After 2 weeks of modeling， each administration group was gavaged with the corresponding dose of drug solution， and the control and model groups were given an equal volume of normal saline， 1 time/d for 2 consecutive weeks. After administration， the feces were collected for 16S rRNA sequencing， the levels of gastrin（GAS）， motilin（MTL）， interleukin-6（IL-6）， γ-interferon（IFN-γ） in the colonic tissue were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay（ELISA）， the histopathological changes of colon were observed by hematoxylin-eosin（HE） staining， flow cytometry was used to detect the proportion changes of CD4⁺， CD8⁺ and regulatory T cell（Treg） in peripheral blood. ResultsCompared with the control group， the model group showed significantly decrease in fecal number in 24 h， fecal quality and fecal water rate（P<0.01）， the colon was seen to have necrotic shedding of mucosal epithelium， localized intestinal glands in the lamina propria were degenerated， necrotic and atrophied， a few lymphocytes were seen to infiltrate in the necrotic area in a scattered manner， the contents of GAS and MTL， the proportions of CD4⁺， CD8⁺ and Treg were significantly reduced（P<0.01）， the contents of IL-6 and IFN-γ were significantly elevated（P<0.05， P<0.01）. Compared with the model group， the fecal number in 24 h， fecal quality and fecal water rate of high-dose groups of RH and PRH were significantly increased（P<0.05， P<0.01）， the pathological damage of the colon was alleviated to varying degrees， the contents of GAS， MTL， IL-6 and IFN-γ were significantly regressed（P<0.05， P<0.01）， and the proportions of CD4⁺ and CD8⁺ were significantly increased（P<0.01）， although the proportion of Treg showed an upward trend， there was no significant difference. In addition， the results of intestinal flora showed that the number of amplicon sequence variant（ASV） and Alpha diversity were decreased in the model group compared with the control group， and there was a significant difference in Beta diversity， with a decrease in the relative abundance of Lactobacillus and an increase in the relative abundances of Bacillus and Helicobacter. Compared with the model group， the ASV number and Alpha diversity were increased in the high-dose groups of RH and PRH， and there was a trend of regression of Beta diversity to the control group， the relative abundance of Lactobacillus increased， and the relative abundances of Bacillus and Helicobacter decreased. ConclusionRH and PRH can improve dysbacteriosis， promote immune system activation， inhibit the release of inflammatory factors for enhancing the gastrointestinal function， which may be one of the potential mechanisms of their therapeutic effect on constipation.

Hypercholesterolemia is a significant risk factor for the development of atherosclerosis. 2',3',5'-Tri-O-acetyl-N ⁶-(3-hydroxyphenyl) adenosine (IMM-H007), a novel AMPK agonist, has shown protective effects in metabolic diseases. However, its impact on cholesterol and triglyceride metabolism in hypercholesterolemia remains unclear. In this study, we aimed to elucidate the effects and specific mechanisms by which IMM-H007 regulates cholesterol and triglyceride metabolism. To achieve this goal, we used Apoe ^-/- and Ldlr ^-/- mice to establish a hypercholesterolemia/atherosclerosis model. Additionally, hepatocyte-specific Ampka1/2 knockout mice were subjected to a 5-week high-cholesterol diet to establish hypercholesterolemia, while atherosclerosis was induced via AAV-PCSK9 injection combined with a 16-week high-cholesterol diet. Our results demonstrated that IMM-H007 improved cholesterol and triglyceride metabolism in mice with hypercholesterolemia. Mechanistically, IMM-H007 modulated the AMPKα1/2-LDLR signaling pathway, increasing cholesterol uptake in the liver. Furthermore, IMM-H007 activated the AMPKα1-FXR pathway, promoting the conversion of hepatic cholesterol to bile acids. Additionally, IMM-H007 prevented hepatic steatosis by activating the AMPKα1/2-ATGL pathway. In conclusion, our study suggests that IMM-H007 is a promising therapeutic agent for improving hypercholesterolemia and atherosclerosis through the activation of AMPKα.

OBJECTIVES: To assess the effectiveness of the comparison between pit and fissure sealants and fluoride varnishes, as well as various types of sealants, in preventing caries on the occlusal surface of children's first permanent molars (FPM). METHODS: Conduct a comprehensive search of literature published between January 1, 1988, and May 30, 2024, in the following databases: China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, Embase, PubMed, China Science Periodical Database and China Biology Medicine database. Meta-analysis and subgroup analyses were performed on the literature that met the inclusion criteria. RESULTS: A total of 5 618 pieces of literature were retrieved, resulting in the inclusion of 14 in the study. Meta-analysis showed that there was no statistically significant difference in the efficacy between varies pit and fissure sealants compared to fluoride varnishes, and between varies types of sealants in preventing caries on the occlusal surface of children's first permanent molars within 24 months post-surgery (P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS Within 24 months, there was no significant difference in the effectiveness of using resin-based or glass iomomer pit and fissure sealants compared with fluoride varnishes in preventing occlusal caries in FPM in children; within 24 months, there was no significant difference in the effectiveness of using resin-based sealants compared with ART sealants in preventing occlusal caries in FPM in children. ART sealants are recommended over resin-based sealers for children who have no conditions for chair-side manipulation or who are poorly co-operative.

Abstract In recent years, the prevalence of overweight and obesity among children and adolescents has risen rapidly, posing a serious threat to their physical and mental health. To provide scientific, systematic, and standardized weight management guidance for overweight and obese children and adolescents, the study focuses on the core concept of healthy lifestyle intervention, integrates multidisciplinary expert opinions and research findings,and proposes a comprehensive multidisciplinary intervention framework covering scientific exercise intervention, precise nutrition and diet, optimized sleep management, and standardized psychological support. It calls for the establishment of a multi agent collaborative management mechanism led by the government, implemented by families, fostered by schools, initiated by individuals, optimized by communities, reinforced by healthcare, and coordinated by multiple stakeholders. Emphasizing a child and adolescent centered approach, the consensus advocates for comprehensive, multi level, and personalized guidance strategies to promote the internalization and maintenance of a healthy lifestyle. It serves as a reference and provides recommendations for the effective prevention and control of overweight and obesity, and enhancing the health level of children and adolescents.

Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) is the third common type of stroke in the world,and its mortality and disability rates have declined over the past few decades due to the advances in neuroimaging technology and endovascular interventional therapy and promotion of healthy physical examination,but long-term neurological deficits and cognitive impairment of the patients have not significantly improved,which may be related to the white matter injury (WMI) after SAH.Little attention has been paid to WMI after SAH in the past,which may be an important reason for the poor prognosis of the patients with SAH.The neuroin-flammation response is an important pathophysiological process after SAH,and the neuroinflammation after SAH can aggravate WMI.This article reviews the relationship between neuroinflammation and WMI after SAH in order to deepen the understanding of its effects on cognitive function after SAH.

Objective: To investigate the current status of screen exposure among preschool children in Shanghai and its association with family screen environment, so as to provide a scientific basis for family screen management. Methods: Using a convenient sampling method, a total of 349 preschool children aged 4-6 years were selected from 36 kindergarten classes in Xuhui District and Pudong New Area in Shanghai during April to June in 2023. Demographic characteristics and family screen environment were surveyed through an online questionnaire. Screen exposure of children was assessed using a diary method, with parents recording the activities over a 7day period. Multiple Logistic regression analysis was employed to identify factors influencing childrens screen content. Results: The average daily screen exposure time for children was (61.2±40.2) minutes, with an average of (12.4±17.6) minutes spent on educational screen content, 80.8% predominantly watched noneducational screen content. The percentages of time spent on educational screen content for 4yearold boys, 4yearold girls, 5yearold boys, 5yearold girls, 6yearold boys, and 6yearold girls were 20.1%, 14.7%, 21.3%, 21.9%, 20.6%, and 26.9%, respectively. Multivariate Logistic regression showed that children aged 5yearold (OR=0.49, 95%CI=0.25-0.96) and 6yearold (OR=0.45, 95%CI=0.21-0.95) were negatively associated with more noneducational screen content (P<0.05). However, occasional (OR=2.02, 95%CI=1.09-3.75) and sometimes (OR=4.50, 95%CI=1.70-11.90) using electronic devices to calm young child when crying, as well as children using electronic devices without adult supervision (OR=1.81, 95%CI=1.01-3.24) were positively associated with more noneducational screen content (P<0.05). Conclusions Preschool children in Shanghai exhibit high exposure to noneducational screen content, and family screen environment and parentchild interaction are associated with noneducational screen exposure. Strategies for family screen management should be developed to regulate childrens screen exposure behaviors, allowing electronic devices to play a positive role in their developmental process.

“Deficiency cause， cold accumulation， and qi stagnation” originates from Essentials from the Golden Cabinet （《金匮要略》）， which is a guiding principle for the pathogenesis of women's diseases， pioneering the differentiation and treatment of women's diseases based on patterns， and having a profound influence on future generations. Following the classical principles and simplifying the complexities， this paper explored the pathogenesis and mechanism of polycystic ovary syndrome （PCOS） from the perspective of “deficiency cause， cold accumulation， and qi stagnation”， and believed that depletion of essence and blood， long-term accumulation of internal cold， and qi constraint and blood stasis are the causes of PCOS， with depletion of essence and blood， and lack of nourishment of zang-fu （脏腑） organs as the root， and cold pathogen invasion， qi constraint and blood stasis as the branch. The main treatment principle is “treating deficiency with supplementation”， and dispelling pathogen while reinforcing healthy qi， along with “treatment of cold by warming” and “treatment of stagnation by dispersing”. This is of great significance for the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome. Clinically， these methods can be used flexibly to guide treatment and formula selection for PCOS， with the goal of harmonizing qi and blood and regulating menstruation.

Abstract The capacity of school health services is an important guarantee for ensuring physical and mental health of students and faculty, and is an important component of healthy schools. With the development of society, health status of children and adolescents presents new characteristics, which puts forward higher requirements for school health service capabilities. The allocation of health personnel, whether in universities or primary and secondary schools, still faces a common problem of being extremely mismatched with educational needs. To comprehensively build a high quality school health system that meets the current goal of building a strong education country, optimizing the construction of school doctors has become a key part of it. The article summarizes the main problems and challenges in the construction of school medical teams in China, proposes potential development paths and suggestions, in order to provide the reference for improving and developing high quality school health work systems, enhancing overall school health service capabilities, and promoting the comprehensive healthy development of children and adolescents.

Objective: To understand the current status of the standardized construction of the health system in colleges and universities in Guangdong Province, so as to provide recommendations for promoting its standardized construction. Methods: From October to November 2023, a random digital table method combined with a questionnaire survey and one site investigation were used to investigate the basic information of school medical institutions, the construction situation of school medical institutions, the service provision of school medical institutions, the work of infectious disease prevention and control, and health education in 281 branches of 169 colleges and universities across 21 cities in Guangdong Province. Results: Among the 281 branches of colleges in Guangdong Province, 264 (94.0%) had school medical institutions. Among those, 88 (33.3%) had a preventive health care department, and 35 (13.5%) had one office for health education research. There were a total of 2 950 health professionals in school medical institutions, with 988 being regular staff members, 372 (12.6%) of whom hold senior titles. A total of 190 (73.4%) branches conducted annual infectious disease prevention and control health education for faculty, 219 (84.6%) branches conducted annual health education for students with at least 1 hour of instruction, 109 (42.1%) branches offered health education courses, and 106 (40.9%) branches established health education resources. Conclusion The construction of health system in colleges and universities in Guangdong Province is becoming more complete, but there are still issues such as unclear functional positioning of school health related departments and personnel, a weak team of school health professionals, and insufficient investment in health education.

Objective: To understand the allocation of health staff and clinics in primary and secondary schools in Guangdong Province, so as to provide a reference for school health construction. Methods: In December 2020, a total of 17 205 primary and secondary schools in 21 cities in Guangdong Province were investigated by combining document verification and on site surveys. The allocation of health staff and clinics in different cities and types of schools was analyzed using SPSS 25.0 software. Results: The proportion of schools in Guangdong Province that met the national standard for school health staff ratio was 37.7%. Among different types of schools, the lowest ratio was found in nine year schools (33.1%), while the highest was in twelve year schools (61.3%). Among the 17 205 schools in the province, 12.6% had clinics with an area of >40 m 2, and 6.9% with occupational licenses for medical institutions. The proportion of full time health staff was 39.1%. Among all school health staffs, the proportions of permanent staff, temporary staff, and appointed staff were 47.5%, 29.0% and 23.6%, respectively. The rate of school health staff with professional qualifications was 44.9%, while 48.3% had graduated from medical related majors, and 20.9% held a bachelor s degree or higher as their first degree. There were differences among various types of schools, with primary schools having the lowest health staff configuration and professional level (24.0% and 35.7%, respectively). Conclusions There are still issues of insufficient staff and low professional level in health staff and establishment of clinics in primary and secondary schools in Guangdong Province, and the allocation is uneven across different types of schools. The allocation of clinics in the province is still in urgent need of improvement.
