Objective To explore the indication, surgical technique, and clinical efficacy of the cross bar based on the Nuss procedure in pectus excavatum. Methods The clinical data of patients who underwent cross bar based on the Nuss procedure from August 2023 to August 2024 in Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital were retrospectively analyzed. Results A total of 88 patients including 85 males and 3 females with a mean age of (17.56±5.20) years were enrolled. All operations were performed successfully without intraoperative cardiac injury, pericardial injury or diaphragmatic injury. The mean operation time was (147.65±47.75) min. The mean blood loss was (13.30±9.06) mL. The mean postoperative hospitalization stay was (4.81±1.55) days, without perioperative death. Six (6.82%) patients developed early postoperative complications, including 3 patients of pleural effusion, 1 patient of subcutaneous hematoma, 1 patient of suffocation and 1 patient of bar rotation. The postoperative outcomes were excellent in 71 (80.68%) patients, good in 16 (18.18%) patients and moderate in 1 (1.13%) patient. The excellent and good rate was 98.86%. Conclusion The cross bar technique is safe and convenient, with satisfactory results. It is worth promoting in clinical application.

Objective:To observe any differential clinical effect of supplementing ultrasound-guided injection of the subacromial bursa with extracorporeal shock wave stimulation in the treatment of non-calcific tendinitis of the supraspinatus tendon.Methods:Sixty individuals with non-calcific tendinitis of the supraspinatus tendon were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, each of 30. Both groups received routine medication, health education and extracorporeal shock wave treatment, but the observation group additionally received ultrasound-guided injection of compound betamethasone injection plus 2% lidocaine intothe subacromial bursa. The treatment′s effect was evaluated using a visual analogue scale (VAS) and the UCLA shoulder rating scale (UCLA). Absorption of hydrops in the subacromial bursa was assessed using ultrasound imaging after 7 and 14 days of the treatment.Results:After 7 and after 14 days the average VAS scores had decreased significantly, while the average UCLA score had increased significantly. At both time points the observation group′s average results were significantly better than those of the control group. The total effective absorption rate of hydrops in the subacromial bursa in the observation group (80.0%) was significantly higher than in the control group after 14 days of treatment.Conclusion:Extracorporeal shock wave stimulation combined with injection of the subacromial bursa can effectively alleviate the pain of non-calcific tendinitis of the supraspinatus tendon, improve joint function, and promote the absorption of hydrops.

Objective To explore the changes of related angles of knee joint in adults in recent 30 years according to the angle value of knee joint compiled by Qi Zhongzheng in 1984,to provide the basis for clinical individualized diagnosis and treatment.Methods 102 healthy volunteers underwent digital X-ray photography of lower limbs.The femoral angle,tibial angle and femoral tibial angle of bilateral knee joints were measured and compared with historical reference value.The correlation between height,weight,BMI and each angle was evaluated.The differences between different sides and different genders were also analyzed.Results There were statistical differences between the mean value and historical mean value of femoral angle,tibial angle and femoral tibial angle (P＜0.001).In female volunteers,the height was weakly correlated with tibial angle and femoral tibial angle (P＜0.05),the weight was weakly correlated with femoral angle (P＜0.01),and the weight was moderately correlated with femoral tibial angle (P＜0.0 1).BMI was weakly correlated with femoral angle or femoral tibial angle (P＜0.05).There were significant differences in femoral angle (right),tibial angle and femoral tibial angle between different genders (P＜ 0.05).Conclusion In the last 30 years,there is a statistical difference between the angle value of the knee joint and the historical reference value.There is also a statistical difference in knee joint angle value between both genders.And in female volunteers,height,weight and BMI show some correlations with the knee joint angle value.However,the cross-sectional survey data of multicenter,large sample size and the whole population are still necessarily needed for further study.

Objective: To investigate the clinicopathological features and treatment strategy of pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) of ex-tra-appendiceal origin. Methods: Clinical data of 34 patients diagnosed with PMP of extra-appendiceal origin who were treated by cy-toreduction surgery (CRS) and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) in the Aerospace Center Hospital from September 2011 to February 2019 were retrospectively analyzed. Clinical and imaging features were summarized and the Log-rank test was used for survival analysis. Results: The clinical manifestations of the 34 patients with PMP of extra-appendiceal origin were mainly abdomi-nal distension (58.8%) and abdominal pelvic mass (52.9%), which are very similar to those of appendiceal PMP. The incidence of main complications after CRS and HIPEC was 14.7%. During the follow-up period of a median of 12 months (range 1-46 months), 9 patients died, and the 1-and 3-year overall survival rates were 69.6% and 53.5%, respectively. In the univariate analysis, peritoneal cancer in-dex (PCI)>20, no HIPEC, and non-radical surgery were significant risk factors for poor prognosis, while gender, age, origin, and patho-logical type did not show significant correlations. Conclusions: The clinical features of PMP of extra-appendiceal origin are not differ-ent to those of PMP originating from the appendix. It is difficult to ascertain the primary lesion before the operation; however, regard-less of the origin, CRS combined with HIPEC is always a safe and effective treatment choice.
