OBJECTIVE: To summarize the latest research progress of graphene and its derivatives (GDs) in bone repair. METHODS: The relevant research literature at home and abroad in recent years was extensively accessed. The properties of GDs in bone repair materials, including mechanical properties, electrical conductivity, and antibacterial properties, were systematically summarized, and the unique advantages of GDs in material preparation, functionalization, and application, as well as the contributions and challenges to bone tissue engineering, were discussed. RESULTS: The application of GDs in bone repair materials has broad prospects, and the functionalization and modification technology effectively improve the osteogenic activity and material properties of GDs. GDs can induce osteogenic differentiation of stem cells through specific signaling pathways and promote osteogenic activity through immunomodulatory mechanisms. In addition, the parameters of GDs have significant effects on the cytotoxicity and degradation behavior. CONCLUSION GDs has great potential in the field of bone repair because of its excellent physical and chemical properties and biological properties. However, the cytotoxicity, biodegradability, and functionalization strategies of GDs still need to be further studied in order to achieve a wider application in the field of bone tissue engineering.

Objective: To explore the association of physical activity and sugar sweetened beverage consumption with psychological sub health among middle school students in Bao an District, Shenzhen, so as to provide a reference for adolescent mental health promotion. Methods: A questionnaire survey was conducted in November 2024 by a stratified cluster random sampling method to select 6 926 junior and senior middle school students from 5 middle schools in Shenzhen. The questionnaire from Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System was used to assess the consumption of sugar sweetened beverages, and physical activity Rating Scale was used to assess the level of physical activity, and Brief Instrument on Psychological Health of Youths was used to evaluate the psychological sub health status. The Chi -square test was used to analyze the differences in the detection rates of psychological sub health among different groups of middle school students, and a multivariate Logistic regression model was established to analyze the effects of physical activity and sugar sweetened beverage consumption and their combined effects on the psychological sub health of middle school students. Results: The detection rate of psychological sub health among middle school students in Bao an District, Shenzhen was 18.93%. Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that, after controlling for confounding factors such as gender, school stage, family residence, family economic status, parental literacy, academic stress and number of friends, lack of physical activity or excessive sugar sweetened beverage consumption were associated with increased risks of psychological sub health among middle school students ( OR =1.36, 1.45); and the highest risk of psychological sub health was found in middle school students who were lack of physical activity and excessive sugar sweetened beverage consumption ( OR =2.59) ( P <0.01). Further analysis by school stages showed that junior high school students with sufficient physical activity and excessive intake of sugary drinks ( ROR =2.10), lack of physical activity and excessive intake of sugary drinks ( ROR =2.31) were at higher risks of psychological sub health than senior high school students( P <0.05). Conclusions Insufficient physical activity and excessive sugar sweetened beverage consumption are closely associated with an increased risk of psychological sub health among middle school students. Effective interventions should be targeted to reduce the risk of psychological sub health problems among middle school students.

Dual-energy CT enables acquisition of multi-parametric information beyond conventional CT through various post-processing techniques.Among these,virtual monoenergetic imaging has demonstrated outstanding performance in improving image quality,facilitating diagnosis,detecting isodense and small lesions,optimizing angiographic protocols,and reducing contrast medium dosage and radiation exposure.This article reviews the fundamental principles,technical advantages,and emerging clinical applications of virtual monoenergetic imaging.

Objective:To analyze the clinicopathological data of invasive stratified mucinous carcinoma(ISMC)of the cervix,thereby providing comprehensive insights for the diagnosis,treatment,and prognosis of this disease.Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on 23 cases of ISMC admitted to the Department of Gynecolo-gy at Wuhan University People's Hospital and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Second Affilia-ted Hospital of Fujian Medical University between January 2020 and December 2023.The study examined clinical characteristics,pathological features,immunohistochemical results,and prognostic outcomes.Additionally,we compared the prognostic data of 14 cases of cervical gastric adenocarcinoma and 19 cases of cervical neuroendo-crine carcinoma.Results:A total of 23 patients diagnosed with ISMC ranged in age from 27 to 61 years,with 11(47.83％)being postmenopausal.Only one patient exhibited lesions upon physical examination,while the remai-ning patients presented with varying degrees of vaginal bleeding,sometimes accompanied by abnormal vaginal discharge and other symptoms.Among these patients,three were HPV-negative,while the remainder tested posi-tive for HPV,with types 16 and 18 being the most prevalent.Of the 23 patients,15 had isolated ISMC,five had in-vasive cervical adenocarcinoma with partial ISMC involvement,and three had cervical adenosquamous carcinoma with partial ISMC involvement.ISMC patients tested positive(100.00％)for p16 and CK7,with positivity rates of 26.09％for p16 and 9.52％for CK7.Immunohistochemical analysis of p53 was conducted in 15 ISMC patients,re-vealing that 80.00％(12/15)had wild-type p53,while 20.00％had mutant p53.The proportion of patients with a Ki-67 proliferation index above 60％was 77.27％(17/22).The mean follow-up period for the 15 patients with isola-ted ISMC was 10.0 months(1.0-36.0 months),with a recurrence rate of 20.00％and a mortality rate of 6.67％.For the 14 patients with combined diagnoses,the mean follow-up period was 9.5 months(1.0-35.0 months),with a recurrence rate of 50.00％and a mortality rate of 7.14％.In the case of 19 patients with cervical neuroen-docrine carcinoma,the mean follow-up period was 15.0 months(1.0-33.0 months),with a recurrence rate of 31.58％and a mortality rate of 10.52％.However,no statistically significant differences were observed in the recur-rence or mortality rates between cervical neuroendocrine carcinoma and isolated ISMC(P＞0.05).Conclusions:The primary clinical manifestation of ISMC is characterized by vaginal bleeding or abnormal fluid discharge,which demonstrates a strong association with HPV infection.Notably,ISMC lacks specific tumor markers for diagnosis.However,immunohistochemical analysis reveals distinctive molecular expression patterns that may serve as effec-tive diagnostic indicators.It is important to emphasize that ISMC exhibits comparable recurrence and mortality rates to those observed in cervical gastric adenocarcinoma and cervical neuroendocrine carcinoma,underscoring its aggressive clinical behavior.

To investigate the mutations of NF1 and clinical phenotypes in patients with sporadic neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1). This is aimed to evaluate the efficacy of high-throughput sequencing in diagnosing atypical cases, to expand the mutational spectrum of NF1, and to provide early diagnosis of NF1. Clinical data from 11 sporadic NF1 patients without family history treated at the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University (2019-2023) were collected. The mutations of NF1 gene were detected using whole-exome sequencing or chip-capture high-throughput sequencing, followed by bioinformatics analysis. Novel mutations were screened against normal population databases to exclude benign polymorphisms, and pathogenicity of the mutations was classified according to ACMG guidelines. The results showed that two novel frameshift mutations were identified: c.7904del (p.Asp2635Valfs*9) and c.5122_5123del (p.Phe1708Hisfs*9). The patient carrying c.7904del exhibited an undocumented phenotype of posterior medullary ischemic degeneration. Among the 11 NF1 patients, the types of mutations included frameshift (4/11), nonsense (3/11), intronic (2/11), splicing (1/11), and start codon variants (1/11). Common phenotypes were cafe-au-lait macules (8/11) and neurofibromas (6/11), yet significant phenotypic heterogeneity existed among patients sharing identical mutations. In conclusion, this study discovered two novel NF1 mutations and an unreported phenotype, expanding both the NF1 mutational spectra and highlights the need for attention to cerebrovascular status in patients carrying NF1 mutations. High-throughput sequencing significantly enhances molecular diagnostic efficacy for atypical NF1, providing a critical basis for clinical NF1 diagnosis.
